Great outdoor seating vibe even on a weekday evening. Came here to try their vegan ramens since last time I tried their non-veg ones, which were also really good.My partner and I ordered their mala and curry vegan ramen and mole tofu tacos. The mole tacos were a nice fusion snack, and packed some good flavor. But that mala ramen was special and had the kind of flavor that makes you want to eat more. I wasn't hungry and I ended up almost finishing the entire bowl! The broth flavor had a touch of that Sichuan peppercorn flavor and coated the noodles perfectly. And love the quantity and flavor of the marinated tofu they add to substitute for the Cha Shu.The curry ramen was also pretty good though mala was a lot more of my style I will definitely be back for another bowl

I came here for lunch and got the tantan ramen (from lots of friends recommendations). It was my first time at Kayo's Ramen Bar, the staff let me know I could take a menu and sit wherever I'd like then come to the front to order. With the tantan ramen you can pick your spice level, I just picked the mild and got the spicy sauce on the side. The tantan ramen was okay, nothing too special. It did have the flavors of tantan. Good amount of ground pork, nice soup broth flavor (a bit salty for me). I liked the addition of the leafy greens, and glad I added a seasoned egg. Not many toppings on this ramen but it's flavorful and I like its simplicity. There's street parking available, easier to find some parking in the neighborhood around here. This is a nice spot to get a quick meal, to meet with friends or have a meal alone. Great food for cooler weather too! Next time, I'll try their other ramens such as shio, shoyu or miso.

Amazing vegan ramen and taco place.I was excited to try these fusion Japanese taco - it did sounded quite interesting and it lived up to my expectations. We ordered vegan TanTan, Spicy Mala, Chashu and Yasai tacos. Liked TanTan, spicy Mala and Yasai all of them. The TanTan taco has the Mala mayo and sesame paste which is a perfect combination. Loved the spicy Mala - it has Thai chilies and pickled ginger takes it a bit up notch. We ordered chili garlic noodles with extra spice and OMG - it was so amazing!! Like the sichuan peppercorn flavor to it.The vegan TanTan ramen has a spicy creamy broth. It was so enjoyable to eat the piping hot spicy ramen. We had ordered via Doordash and the food came pretty quickly. Also liked how they had packed ramen - we could heat it conveniently.

Order inside, sit outside, food is delivered to your table. The Princess enjoyed watching all the legs go by as she laid under the table. Service was relatively quick. The noodles were decent. The broth not as rich as I like. The accompaniments spare. Yes, you can add-on to your hearts content but then that inexpensive bowl of ramen is no longer inexpensive. As a simple dinner, it was adequate but not quite our cup of noodles. It may have had something to do with that this was not our first choice of restaurants but the one we had pegged had a 1.5 hour wait.

We were craving ramen on a cold fall day and found Kayo as a neighborhood hidden gem. Had no expectations and was definitely blown away. We were able to get seated right away, although it was busy for a Saturday night. You get seated and then order yourself at the counter. We both got tan tan, hot spice level with pork and it was so good. We paired it with the rock melon tea and mango dragonfruit. I loved my mango dragonfruit drink, was obsessed. The rock melon was not as sweet as expected. Back to the ramen though, such a large portion, broth was thick and creamy with the right level of spice. Also got the cheesecake for dessert was so delicious, perfect sweet treat. Ambiance was loud as it was busy but by 9:30 it seemed to quiet down. Parking a bit hard to find but will be back.

We were excited to see so many vegetarian and vegan ramen. Generally speaking, you only have one choice, but seeing multiple options got us rallied up. So we were excited, and we saw great reviews on TanTan ramen, so we started with that and kale potstickers as that was also unheard of.Also you need to order, pay up and then go sut at a table, but the food is brought to you.Potstickers tasted as normal potstickers there was no wow or flavor profile, looks great for pics .TanTan ramen was warm at best, and that was really concerning. Ramen, Pho dishes are generally piping hot. Taste was even worse, nothing great as the reviews depicted. We were glad we ordered only one ramen. Now, moving on Chashu tofu and Mala sauce was good.Vegan Mole Tofu Taco was excellent. So, I went for a next order all tofu and dessert, we ordered one more mole tofu taco, spicy mala taco , Yasai Taco and for dessert a slice of cheese cake.Yasi was ok, and spicy taco had a nice good kick.Cheese cake good, but lost all the air so little dense but nevertheless good, but the portion was small.Ambiance was good both inside and out.So it turned out to be a better Taco place than Ramen. As a ramen place deserves only 2 stars, but if they change it to a taco place, I will give them 4 stars.Good taco place!

I like this place cause you can try some flavors you typically can't find at a lot of other ramen joints. When I think ramen I usually think tonkatsu as it seems to be the most well-known & popular in the states but Kayo doesn't have it. Instead of the rich creamy pork broths you might be expecting, they use lighter, cleaner tasting chicken bone broths (vegan broth available as well). Also, their noodles are excellent and have that slight springy bounce.I've tried the Tan Tan and Mala Ramen. The Tan Tan had a peanuty flavor which was interesting but not savory enough for me. The Mala I liked a lot, it had a bit of Szechuan peppercorn spice to it. Toppings are simple & minimal: just a bit of green onion and fresh spinach. The tacos were pretty standard, essentially chashu scraps w/ a bit of spicy mayo but at $4 for street taco size not worth it. The ramen prices were standard and service is fast. Clean cafe setting w/ good amount of covered outdoor tables too w/ heaters for winter.

The food here was great! I ordered the Miso Ramen and it was probably the best I've had so far! Very flavorful and the portions were great. We came across it while looking for a late night dinner as we got into the city late. It was a very warm and comforting meal. Only complaint I had was you don't have a waiter, something we weren't told. We assumed once we sat down someone would bring us water or something, but no one came over. Finally we asked how to order food and you had to go inside and order. Had to keep getting up ourselves to refill our water as well. But the food was great and made up for that!
