This place is FIVE STAR good. The service was fantastic, the server listened to what I was saying and tweaked my meal to match my desires. My Eggs Benedict was perfect and hands down the best hollandaise sauce I've ever had. My husband's Ribeye Chilaquiles was authentic and delicious. I can't wait to come back and try more things.

Oh my. Portland has a top tier diner and it's on Sandy Blvd. We drop in on a Labor and it's busy even a hour before close but we can easily find a table. Trying out food at a diner new to you seems like it could be a chore, but I'm up to the task. It's best to choose a usual from your favorite diner experiences and run with it so I choose a Benedict. The Hood Benedict. Our server is friendly and attentive, providing refills of our coffee when she notices they are low. The cloth napkins are a nice touch. I look around and see families, people from all walks of life. This. Is. A. Diner. The interior is bright and lively, there is a very short bar and several tables that can accommodate small and large groups. My Benedict arrives and the poached egg flows all over the avocado, spinach, and egg muffin. The hash though, the hashed browned potatoes are delightful. Javi must use a different oil because these are tasty. My wife reports her eggs with biscuits and gravy are better than Pine State, possibly among the best biscuits and gravy she's tasted in Portland. I take a sip of coffee and am pleasantly surprised by the flavor. The homemade hot sauce is very tasty. Javi's is a gem. Two of us made it out of the Diner for under $50 and feel very satisfied. We will be back to try more of our favorite Diner dishes and more. I peeped the Churro Waffles and that looked out of this world tasty.Thank you Javi. You are providing accessible food food for the masses, exactly as a Diner should.

Wow, one of our favorite breakfast places in all of Portland. I'm late to this review but our first experience at Javi's was during our winter storm in January where almost every single business was closed due to snow and ice. Luckily, we found out that Javi's was opened and within walking distance. We were immediately blown away by how nice and attentive the staff and Javi was. You can tell he genuinely cares about his customers and the quality of his food. Every single time we've came here, he always asks us how the food is and is just the sweetest human ever. The food is literally way too good. The hashbrowns, biscuits, and gravy are the best I've had. Bloody mary is pretty delish too. If you ever needing a solid breakfast place to make your regular, Javi's is the place. Great food, service, and ambiance!!

What was once a Vietnamese restaurant, is now Javi's ( Javier's ). After driving by this place and seeing parking lot full and restaurant packed, I just had to try this place. We were seated pretty quickly and by the happy faces of other customers, I knew we were in for a real treat. I had the Chilaquiles with tinga (shredded chicken) because duh, when on a menu I usually get that. It was perfectly prepared and was very good, the only thing I would add next time is beans and extra cheese, but that's just me and my taste buds. Service was engaging and welcoming, the bill was easy on the proverbial wallet. All & All ; I am a fan and will return, you can tell this is a family restaurant and that there is a lot of attention to detail and love in their food. Outdoor seating available and plenty of street parking on Sandy. Oh they serve lunch as well.

Possibly the best eggs Benedict I've ever had. Got the Mt Hood Benedict and it was a perfect balance of creamy hollandaise, fresh tomato and spinach, and perfectly poached egg. Hashbrowns were perfectly cooked and not over-salted, which I feel is too often the case. Also, get a side of hot sauce. It's made in house, which is obvious in the incredible flavor, and also deeply sad, because I can't buy it at a store. Excellent service, especially in such a bustling place - they turn out food quick. Absolutely coming back next time I'm in town.

Everything about this place is amazing -- both the service and food. My daughter and I both had the Mount Hood Benedict with hash browns. Ask for a side of hot sauce. It was so delicious.

My wife and I had to drop something off near the Airport in the morning. We were both hungry and used Yelp to find something new. Javi's came up. My wife had a custom omelette with sausage, with a Bloody Mary. I had the Mt. Hood Benedict. Both were amazing. The service, and friendly atmosphere, make for a spot we will definitely come back to.

This cute spot in NE Portland has lots of options (vegetarian, dairy free, gluten free) for both breakfast and lunch. We visited on a Sunday morning and they were busy, but the servers were very attentive and the service was excellent. Based on suggestions on Yelp, I ordered the Ham Benedict. The eggs were done to perfection, the English muffin was toasted (as I requested) and the hollandaise sauce was smooth and creamy... the best Benedict I've had in quite a long time with a side of hash brown. The other item we ordered from the lunch menu, a Rueben sandwich, made with buttery toasted Rye Bread packed with fresh yummy corned beef, cheese and delicious sauce, with a cup of tomato soup on the side! They have a small parking lot, and there is plenty of parking on the streets around the place. This is a nice place for breakfast and lunch and their food quality and great service will bring us back again!
