Visiting my sister in Portland and she suggested we go to Jacqueline because she enjoys the food immensely. We ordered a bunch of dishes, each one unique and delicious. The service was impeccable and the servers highly attentive. The ambiance is intimate and moody...perfect for a couple's romantic dinner or a catching-up, double date with my sister and her boyfriend. All in all, I would highly recommend this restaurant; so much so, I gave my sister a gift certificate to Jacqueline for her birthday. :)* Little I Bakery short skinny baguette w/ maître d'hôtel butter & sea salt from Netarts Bay* radicchio salad, smoked oyster Caesar, honeycrisp apples, parm, breadcrumbs* ricotta & green garlic gnocchi, purple sprouting broccoli, black trumpets, sourdough brodo* tempura Japanese sweet potatoes w/ mustard miso, black sesame & forbidden rice crispies* fresh squid ink udon noodles w/ crab, oyster mushrooms, chili crisp butter & bottarga* olive oil cake* peanut butter semifreddo

I enjoyed my visit here! These are my reasons why the review is 4 stars and not 5 stars. I feel like with some small tweaks it could get there for me. The tomato salad was great on presentation but lacked on flavor. The heirloom tomatoes weren't as flavorful as I would hope an heirloom would be (this was a while ago, end of season). It felt like an overpriced small salad that didn't fully impress. The lobster in the bun needed more lobster and more lobster flavor- it had other things mixed in, veggies... so the lobster flavor and texture was not what I am used to in a lobster roll; I need it to taste like lobster. The bun was perfect and interesting... buttery, salty, smooth, and toasted on the outside, and meaty in the best way on the inside. Somewhere between toasted and steamed and I loved that. The white chocolate brittle on top of the coconut pana cotta felt like a separate dessert; not a good match to the other fruit topping. But as separate items, each component tasted good. It was just not a combination of flavors and textures that went together. Despite what I am writing here, it was a lovely dinner and one of the best ones I have had in Portland.

The food is very delicious, and made from high quality ingredients. Drink selections are great. We had the $1 oyster during the happy hour. It comes with several different sauces. I would say, the oysters are even better than the one I had at the coast. With that being said, this place is fitting for an intimate meetup or a date. The food is pretty small. The server told us they would be shareable, but I don't think so. It's not the kind of restaurant that you come to when you are hungry. There were 5 of us, and we barely got 2 spoonfuls of each dish (we ordered 4 dishes), and our bill was around $200. I would say set your expectations. It's a nice place to come if there are 3-4 people max in your group to chat or have a light meal.My friend tried to reserve via phone, but they ended up playing phone tag. She sent an email and they said we were on the list, but when we came, we were not on the list. The greeter told us they didn't have a table for us. We ended up seated though I could feel the greeter was a bit tense / pissed. It kind of brought down the mood, when we came to celebrate our birthdays.

Great spot! The food was delicious. We really enjoyed how fresh the oysters was. The different sauces they provided made the experience and taste even better.Everything we got was amazing and I really enjoyed the fried canary rockfish lettuce wraps. The fried fish was buttery and melted in my mouth. The Kim chi and dipping sauce made the entree exceptional. My friends really love the dung mess crab toast, they felt the toast was delicious and made the fish. The restaurant was very well put together and adorable. The service was fantastic, they were really good with course changes. New set of plates and utensils. Very mindful. I was definitely impressed.

Jacqueline is a gem of a spot if you're looking for an upscale dining experience with some great happy hour deals. We had a reservation during their happy hour from 5-6 PM and were thrilled with the $1 oysters--definitely a steal! We also tried the hamachi crudo and smoked scallops. The hamachi crudo was the standout, fresh and vibrant, while the smoked scallops were delicious and packed with flavor. For drinks, we enjoyed a refreshing watermelon daiquiri and an IPA. The drinks complemented our meal perfectly. One thing to note is that a 20% hospitality charge is added to every bill, so just be aware of that when you're planning your budget.Overall, Jacqueline offers excellent food, and a solid happy hour. I'll definitely be back to try other dishes!

Went for a solo dinner during happy hour time! They have $1 oysters but it's limited to only 12 oysters per person which is something not posted on their website. There are three different drinks at happy hour you can get. The oysters were delicious and they change depending on availability. They give you their five specialty sauces for your oysters. The hamachi was so good I would highly recommend as an app. I also loved their warm soft buttery baguette to cleanse my palate after the oysters! The service was lovely and attentive. No complaints there. It's busy right at opening - ambience is clean, feels spacious even though it's packed, with murmurs of conversations. Good place for date night, celebrating friends, or just a nice night out.Overall, good quality seafood.

This place is definitely on the pricy side so expectations are higher when you pay higher prices. We spent $200 on dinner for two but this did include 2 cocktails each (birthday splurge). We ordered the smoked scallops which come with 'corn pudding, blistered tomatoes, squash, pardons, tomatillo sambal'. Dish came with 3 scallops, green zucchini and like a spoonful of the cord pudding underneath. Basically $40 for a tapa sized dish. 2nd 'entree' was seared kanpachi with miso sesame, bok choy, turnips, green beans, dashi and ginger. I really can't say anything was memorable about this dish except that it was a little too sweet for my taste and we waited nearly 1.5 hours for it. The appetizers were better than the entrees. We ordered the salad of smashed cucumbers, melons, black tahini, feta and pistachio dukkah. Overall a very tasty dish. We also got the ahi tuna tartare with chili crisp, yuzu aioli, beech mushrooms, sea beans and crispy wontons. This was definitely my favorite dish and would order again.Overall the dining experience took 2 or so hours as the food took a very long time to come out. A good restaurant but like I said a bit pricey for what you get.

I came here for dinner one evening as a walk-in and I was fortunately able to get a seat at the bar. The inside was dimly lit and felt like the inside of a home--it was very cute. Staff was kind.I ordered a number of their dishes, such as the scallop, potatoes, and calamari, but I also had to give their oysters a try as I heard that they were pretty famous for them. I loved the experience with the oysters. We were given three different kinds and a variety of sauces of mix-and-match to accompany our little dining experience. It was just an overall fun experience to try out the different sauces and the oysters were also delicious. The rest of the dishes were also amazing, but one thing to note is that their portion sizes are a bit on the small side and everything is family style. I highly recommend their fresh seafood as well as their calamari. I believe they do those SO well. I would love to come back here.

The food and experience at Jacqueline are both so special. My friend and I did the "let us cook for you" tasting menu experience where we received 10 courses served family style. The courses started off light and I was worried that I would still be hungry but by the end I was stuffed! The menu is seafood-forward so being from Los Angeles I thought that $90/pp was a great value for what we got. The menu changes based on what is fresh so I won't detail what we received but I did have two favorite items. The squid ink udon noodles with shrimp, squid, crab, spinach and chili crisp butter was packed with umami and you can't go wrong with a good udon noodle! The polenta fritters with 24 month aged serrano ham and green garlic aoli was also a wonderful combination of flavors and a great contrast to all of the seafood courses. They ended the meal with a panna cotta with a candle in it for my birthday, a super nice touch. All of the staff were warm and professional and we loved our meal here. You can order a-la-carte from the menu as well.

We mainly came for the happy hour $1 oysters but also decided to try other dishes here. The assortment of house made sauces that came with the oysters were fun to try. I forgot the exact name but the yuzu one was my favorite. The menu items are creative and I was having a hard time choosing what I wanted to try. I ended getting the arugula chitarra pasta and the lobster roll. The pasta sauce was flavorful and the noodles were cooked well and fresh. The lobster roll was on the sweeter side. For drinks, I got the Internet girlfriend cocktail. It's a vodka drink with Szechuan peppercorn. I don't recommend it unless you like Szechuan flavor. It was very different and I'll definitely get something else next time haha. The service was great. You can really tell they value teamwork because multiple staffs came by our table either taking orders, dropping off food, or checking in on us. The environment was very cozy but with good amount of space. It's good place for a causal dining or special occasion. It is a more pricey dining place. Many of the items are sold at market price. They also have a health and wellness charge. The fee wasn't a lot but just an FYI (receipt attached). I recommend getting a reservation because there's always a line out the door before the restaurant opens
