You know normally I am a creature of habit, but I often like to use deals and promotions to scratch my legs a little and try and find something new. I normally wouldn't wander into. I'm more of a taco stand verse Mexican restaurant person growing up where I grew up in Southern California. It's just what I was used to was quick and cheap food rather than the big warm plate Mexican restaurant style. Here was very much so stereotypical Mexican restaurant, huge portions, tons of cheese and a massively huge menu.We probably should've just gotten one item and split it, but we ended up bringing home an incredible amount of food even though I ate till I was stuffed. The super nachos were very good. We went with the Pastor store of course the best meat. Chips when they bring them to the table come out warm so we knew the nachos were gonna be good. We split the three item combo anytime I can try a Chile Relleno I do. Sometimes you regret it cause it's a little bit greasy and a little bit off, but this one was absolutely "perfectly with just the most insane amount of cheese in there as you can see by this 4 foot cheese pull in the photo. Of course I'm a huge green sauce fan so we went with an enchilada to go along with that with the chili Verde and have the chili Verde sauce poured all over everything. Our last item was a tostada because why not have all of your carbs deep-fried as well. I mean, if there was an option to deep fry the enchilada, we probably would've done as well.Service here was absolutely amazing. It's a really good spot and it rivals La Carreta which says a lot! In both portion and quality. Honestly, unless you want a ton of leftovers and a crazy amount of stuff, a three item combo will easily feed to normal people.

If you're looking for a cozy and well balanced Mexican restaurant, Ixtapa if your good option. What Ixtapa does mean you might ask. Well, let me tell a bit about it.....Ixtapa is a Pacific Coast beach resort in the Mexican state of Guerrero. Curving El Palmar Beach is lined with high-rise hotels, bars and restaurants. Fishing boats leave from Ixtapa Marina, adjacent to a golf course. The granite rocks of Los Morros de Potosí are a popular dive site, while the Delfiniti dolphinarium offers the chance to swim with dolphins. The laid-back resort city of Zihuatanejo lies just southeast. As other Mexican restaurants at times are named after a well known place in the Mexican riviera and/or a gorgeous city or town, Ixtapa is your place to visit one day. For know, if you come to this joint you'll be pleased with the quality and good blend of flavors. I was in the mood for tacos and was completely satisfied. In this particular ones I order the esquite on the side (esquites are a popular Mexican snack made from corn mixed with creamy mayonesa (mayonnaise), freshly crumbled cotija cheese or queso fresco, lime juice, and chili powder. It's commonly sold by street vendors in Mexico and is served in a large cup with a spoon to mix all the delicious ingredients together!).Esquites are a culinary delight that most Mexicans enjoy, it's easy to find them in any city in the country and there are many varieties, although the essence is the same. The word Esquites comes from the Náhuatl word Ízquitl, from Icehqui "to toast on a griddle".Enjoy!

Friendly and quick service. There was an island mural on the side of our table that almost felt like we were there. Lol loved the taco salad and it was the perfect portion. Can't wait to try the dessert next time we come back

The fajita was 99% frozen onions and peppers. We had to pick through it to find what little Carne Asada we could. The server cleared our table before we were done eating, including taking our napkins and silverware. On the bright side, the chips and salsa were good. it takes one bad meal for people never to come back. Do not recommend.

When you think of Mexican food in an American strip mall, this is what you get. No surprises. Free chips though.

You gotta be kidding me $5.00 for and iced tea. Food is good, but they've shrunk the amount of salsa they give you (small white, salad dressing type bowl) and charge $1.50 if you want more salsa and/or chips. I just want die more salsa to put on my entree after it arrives. But the shocker was $5.00 for a glass of iced tea.

I was very disappointed tonite. Ordered pork. Before I could start eating I had to remove fat from almost every piece of pork. I wanted black beans but they are no longer on the menu. I ordered a wine. Stuck to bottom of glass was either white price tag or cocktail napkin plus as I got towards bottom of glass , the glass was dirty. I spoke to manager got the oh that's the way it comes. Very disappointed.

Just ordered a beef and bean burrito to go with light beef. It was all beef. I wouldn't normally complain, but this has happened twice when it was specified light beef....again. When I called, they offered to fix it but that entails me having to go back. After a long day, that's just not something that I'm willing to do. So I'm a little frustrated.

Amazing.Salsa was great. I, like most people, I imagine, judge Mexican restaurants first and most by the salsa. Their's is as good as it gets. The meals were everything we hoped they'd be. AND when the plates arrived, they looked just like what was pictured on the menu. We've been here half-a-dozen times, and every visit has been amazing. Service is just as great as the food.
