Hawaiian Paralysis

GUYS!! The food was soooo ono. We pigged out for sure and got the Ahi Katsu plate (probably the best thing I had aside from the rare occasional laulau's), the dynamite katsu plate, 4 spam musubi's (which they were extra stuffed), a kalua pig plate, a shoyu chicken plate, and some of the drinks. The Ohana who runs this local small business created such a nice standing ambiance for their customers. They have a little tent that covers you as you order with a little mister to help beat the heat.Thankfully we ordered at the most perfect time when no one was there. So we even ordered some shave ice with ice cream and it was so good. They surprised us on flavors which did not disappoint. They provide you with a piece of Aloha on a plate & left us wanting to come back for more. What a great new spot to really curb our hometown appetite. We will def come back again.

I've been craving good Hawaiian food since moving up from LA and every place I've tried so far has been utterly disappointing. But then I found Hawaiian Paralysis! I think I've now officially tried everything on their menu and can confidently say, their food is beyond amazing! Quite possibly the best Hawaiian food I've ever had!Here's a breakdown of everything I've tried at HP:Spicy poke plate: First off, their tuna is incredibly fresh. Each bite is firm but tender, never mushy. They mix this in a spicy mayo that's perfectly seasoned with these little crispy bits that I'm guessing are either onions or celery. It's served with a scoop each of rice and macaroni salad. And guys, they use the GOOD rice! Super fluffy, super tasty, it's absolutely the best pairing for their amazing poke. (Yeah, this is probably my favorite dish here!)Loco Moco: Tender beef patty with bits of chopped sweet onions grilled to perfection, topped with egg and the most amazing gravy you'll ever taste in your life. Served with a side of the best rice ever! This Loco Moco was life changing! (Wait, this might actually be my favorite dish. I can't decide now!)Katsu Chicken: I've tried this the OG way, with curry, and the dynamite version. Their chicken is crispy, the curry is thick and flavorful, and their dynamite sauce is always fire! My favorite way to have their Katsu is with the curry, 100% but my husband absolutely loves the dynamite.Lau Lau Pork: Wait, if there was ever a dish that changed your life completely, this would be mine. It was my first time trying anything like this and I gotta say, my mouth was in heaven! Super tender pork belly, wrapped in taro leaves, and steamed to perfection. I couldn't even begin to describe the feelings I had when that pork melted onto my tastebuds. (Perhaps this one is my favorite?)Shoyu Chicken: super tender, super flavorful, super good!! My dad doesn't like to venture out of his safe eating bubble but he took one bite of this and fell in love! He said he's never had chicken with this much flavor that just melted into his mouth! Hawaiian Breakfast Plate: Spam. Good. Portuguese sausage. Good. Eggs. Good. Rice. Goooood. This is a MUST TRY!! Spam, eggs, and rice is always good but that Portuguese Sausage?? Holyyy! They also have a nice selection of Hawaiian juices to wash all your food down with! There's like every flavor! It's awesome!!Seriously though, everything I've had here has been absolutely amazing! And that's not even the best part about this cart. The best part HAS to be the cart owners Nora and Gary. They are literally the nicest, sweetest couple ever. They definitely make you feel like family which makes the whole experience that much better!HP is located at the Gresham Food Carts in Gresham. They have a great little parking lot, and a building in the middle to keep you warm/cool. Definitely make the trip out to Hawaiian Paralysis to get your Hawaiian food fix, you won't be disappointed!

If you call the item you sell "Shave Ice" and you are a Hawaiian Food Truck, you really need to have the correct Shave Ice.What they have here is Shaved Ice which is not the same.We came here yesterday hoping for a treat and we were disappointed. This was truly just broken ice cubes and inedible for us. We ended up tossing the whole thing.Too bad.Update: Owner claims they did not sell this product yesterday and have proof. Let them prove it as we were there in the late afternoon and had dinner at another truck and got dessert here. We sat at the tables right by their truck for dinner and dessert. Hope they have the video of us throwing the ShaveD Ice away as well.Usually I don't get riled by an owner but what they posted is a lie. The sandwich board was out with the flavors and prices of the ice. We ordered Guava and Pineapple.Update #2: We will take them up on their offer once the machine is back. Mahalo.
