New restaurant, large, spacious. There is parking. The food was good. I wouldn't say it was much different than other good Korean restaurants I've ate at. It is on the pricier side. We got appetizers and 3 set meal. But they only gave us 1 set of the side-dishes (banchan). That was disappointing since that's a favorite part of the meal and there was 3 of us. The egg soufflé was recommended to us but we found it very underwhelming. The fried egg pancake was much better.

My friend ordered 육개장 and I ordered 된장찌개 plus the seafood pancakes. Soups were very flavorful. Served in pretty metal bowls and plates made in Korea. Highly recommended. Price is a bit high, but what is not these days?

Heavy price tag with mediocre food and small portion. Service was very slow and inattentive. Ambience is beautiful and roomy.

I'm rarely blown away by a meal but hats off to this place. Not only aesthetic looking food but it actually tastes so good. My friends and I ordered a little too much but more is more. We had the beef tartare, royal tteokbokki, steamed beef brisket with mushroom and the prime short rib. I've never seen a Korean restaurant offer the royal tteokbokki so it was a must to try and I would highly recommend it. It's very different from your usual sauce but the soy sauce works perfectly with it. One of my favorite dishes. The short rib was tender and I loved all the seasonal leaves that came with it. Presentation and service was also 10/10.

Service a disappointing drop. Even with reservations ~ table not prepared, waiter not on top of her game with mistaken ordering. Wrong entrees served without apology. Meat came out cold.At $400 bill plus auto tip for a party, this was not a satisfactory dinner.

I really enjoyed the options of barbecue here and it tasted amazingly good and the crispy rice. The bottom of the stone pot is always a delight and staple of the Korean food. I tried the beef tart that was also delicious but the fish took the cake for as the meal. I love fried fish reminds me that Indonesia and I could only imagine how delicious fried fishes are Asia because they're something different compared to North America. we do fish and seafood.

Wow! What a hidden gem. I'm a sea of lots of Korean joints out here it's so nice to have an upscale homemade Korean place with beautiful decor, metal plates and authentic food. The japchee was full of veggies and even wood ear mushrooms. Also, the mandu was crispy and the kimchee stew was hot and flavorful. Barley tea came with the meal and 6 different banchan, so it was a nice touch! The service was a little slow as we had to keep waving down the server. Overall, a beautiful restaurant, great food and authentic recipes.

I recently visited Hansik, a new addition to the SW Portland Korean dining scene, and had a pleasant experience overall.I ordered the spicy squid stir fry, beef brisket with bean sprout, spicy beef stew, tofu soup, and flipping scallion pancakes with kimchi. The food was good, with the banchans (side dishes) standing out for their different flavor profiles. The dishes were all certainly enjoyable. Hansik offers a variety of menu options, and the restaurant itself is spacious and clean. The staff were all very kind, contributing to a positive dining atmosphere. However, there are a few areas for improvement. The prices are on the higher side (relatively to other Korean restaurants nearby). Despite the large space, the restaurant seemed understaffed, which impacted the overall service experience. It took quite a while to get more water, a to-go box, and the check. Additionally, it was unclear what their main specialty or standout dish is due to the extensive menu with so many items, and nothing particularly stood out as a signature dish.Overall, Hansik is a solid choice for trying a variety of Korean dishes in a comfortable setting.

It's new and impressively large by taking over a building previously rented by a bar/grill but I don't quite remember the name having only been there once.I would say that the menu is slightly more unique than other Korean restaurants on the west side. However, prices are a fraction higher as well. The banchan assortment was good, but is clear the owner doesn't want his staff to be refilling them often which is unfortunate. If you ask persistently, you will get refills. Just the quantity of refill is tiny. All in all, it was a good time with an enjoyable spread. I just can't say, however, I got the best bang for the buck.
