Ambiance: super busy during weekend lunch time, yet, because the place is huge and they have a lot of waitstaff, you get seated within 10 mins. Came during dinner time, not as busy. Service Quality: great service considering how busy they are. You get your tea and drinks as soon as you are seated. They have a lot of carts that go around for their dimsum items. You can order for as well and wait is not that long. Food Quality: great 95% of the time. I would definitely come back! In fact, we come here at least once a month even if we have to drive an hour to get here. We live on the other side of town.

Bursting at the seams with Asians must be a good sign?! Typical metro dim sum except one of the very few in Portland is likely the reason why, on the weekends and special occassion, the long and agonizing wait before you can sit and let the food choices come to you.

Ordered take-out from here:Shrimp Dumplings, Shrimp Rice Noodle, Steamed Pork and Shrimp Dumplings, Baked BBQ Pork Bun, Steamed Pork and Shrimp Dumplings, Shumai, and Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf. Here's the dealio: the food was bomb! All of it was actually very delicious and would love to come back BUT... for dine in. The take out took a whole hour to wait for which sucks because I thought din sum in carts = fast to pack for takeout. The restaurant wasn't busy either; there were maybe 4 tables occupied at most. They do share a large parking lot with the businesses around the plaza so that's very convenient. The restaurant inside is ginormous, and the lady who helped us was very kind and very apologetic for the delay. I'd say 3.8 out of 5 due to one hour wait, otherwise food was still yummy

I have no idea why the reviews for HK are so low. This is by far my favorite dim sum spot in Portland. The variety is great and all the food is very authentic and traditional. Compared to other dim sum restaurants in the Portland area, the restaurant itself is huge. There can be a long wait time especially on the weekends but it's definitely worth it. There has been some significant price increases in the past few years but it's still average pricing. The quality of food makes up for the cost. I recommend going earlier to beat the wait time and get the food as fresh as possible.

Food is good but very bad attitude service. Order Togo, got food throwing at me. Never come back again. Service is also part of why customers are coming back or not

If you like dimsum, then come here. The food was delicious, and of course, I gobbled it all up without noticing I didn't take a pic. This vacation I just been engulfed with oregon experience, and this place was just so good. I had shrimp rice noodles, shrimp shumai, pork buns , shrimp with sugar cane, and rice cakes. Omg I loved everything. Service was great and resturant clean. Convenient location with tons of parking. Three people with hot green tea and food cost around 100, and that's because I ordered everything some I didn't even list because I don't know what they were. We still had a huge bag of leftovers, which I gave to my family. No complaints here.

I always come to HK Café with my parents when I visit home. It is definitely one of the most affordable and authentic dim sum options in the area. The dishes are pretty reliably hot and fresh, and I always love dim sum when it comes from a push cart. The restaurant is huge so it is able to accommodate big parties!

Of all the dim sum in Portland this is by far my favorite. I lived in China for 8 years and the ladies with the carts are as pushy as the grannies who pushed the carts in China. You definitely need to be able to say no otherwise you will definitely end up with too much food or something you may not like. I have tried other places in Portland and I find other places just not to hit the mark. I miss my dim sum from China!

Had a fantastic lunch at HK Café! I really enjoy a great dim sum and I swear it is getting harder to find restaurants that have the pushcarts full of tasty small bites. I was thrilled to eat here and find that dining experience. The restaurant was very large and very busy. We sat at the back wall and the carts were a constant parade by our table. Each cart was full of hot, fresh food. The pork shumai was fabulous! They were among the chunkiest pork shumai that I have ever eaten. They were meaty, hot, and delicious. The shrimp dumplings were super tender and perfectly cooked. The steamed pork hum bao was tender and fluffy. Everything I ate was marvelous. The service was typical of a restaurant like this - they would come by with a cart, offer a variety of food, and move on. They kept the table clean of all empty dishes which of course only encouraged us to eat more food. Seriously it was really good!
