If you have not been here, you must come! You will not regret it.This is the best Hawaiian food in the Portland and surrounding area in my opinion. Food here is always delicious and hits the spot. Prices are reasonable for the amount you get.I highly recommend getting the ono chicken, meat Jun, and poke nachos! They use fried wonton crisps as their nachos instead of corn chips which I think is a game changer-- the perfect vehicle for delicious poke! We've tried the kalbi on different occasions and wouldn't get it again because while flavor is great, it can be a little hard to chew. They have a good amount of seating inside and outside. It was quite busy on a Saturday, but trust me it is *worth* the wait.

Heaping portion of Ahi! Tasted really fresh and an awesome portion for the price! Definitely want to try some other menu items!Unfortunately the spam musubi rice was too soggy for me so a bit of a miss. Will definitely be back to try more, I know how popular this place is.

Food is a bit pricey when you look at the menu, but it is easily a 2 person meal. Ordered the dynamite (not spicy) katsu, which came with two scoops of rice and a scoop of mac. Lots of outside seating and inside seating. Tons of bike racks out front on Cully, but they were also fine with us bringing our bikes into the patio area. Friends ordered the deep fried musubi, that came on a bed of macaroni salad. Definitely a heavy item to eat - I'd stick without it being deep fried next time.

This is a neighborhood spot that I keep saying I am going to check out but then realize they are closed by the time I want to eat dinner. Last time I tried to stop in at lunch there was a long line, so I left as I had to get back to work. But today, I smartened up and ordered online for pick up ahead of time. I placed my order around 11ish and it said it would be ready at 12:30 and I believe they open at 12.The dishes seem spendy for lunch, but I think every Hawaiian place in Portland is so expect to pay about $18-$26 for an entree. They do smaller orders like the Spicy bombs that are $12. But similar to many of the Hawaiian spots, they give you so much food that it easily feeds 2 people or you can eat lunch and save the rest for dinner like I did.But what sets this place apart is the poke, garlic shrimp, walnut shrimp and korean chicken, which I don't think the other places have. I got the Combo which starts at $22 but they upcharge for certain items. So I added the Poke which had a $2 extra charge and the walnut shrimp. It was sooooooo tasty. I loved the poke which came in a separate container to not mix the hot and cold items, but I dumped it into the box for the photo. The walnut shimp had 8 LARGE prawns (see photos) and was fried to perfection with the sweet coating and walnuts. They add sticky rice under the main entrees and then an extra scoop of sticky rice and a scoop of macaroni salad.I personally did not like their version of macaroni salad as it had too much mayo for me, but not sure if it's always like that.I came back with my family the following day to dine in. I had the garlic shrimp, hubs had combo of ono chicken/beef teriyaki and daughter had the Jun plate. I had the garlic shrimp ($18) that was so delicious and garlicky anf had about 15 HUGE prawns. That is a bargain. They have indoor and the outdoor seating which is cool because inside the air was a smokey and it was a nice day, but unfortunately, outside the picnic tables were kinda filthy. I tried to wipe the table down as beat I could. They also were out of silverware but did have plastic to go utensils. Overall, I think the food is good and the spot is nice but they still need to work out some of their kinks which is probably why they seem to cater to their to go orders.

The food here is amazing! The people I was with all tried each others plates. I don't think there is anything we disliked! The outdoor seating area is great when it's dry out. Be prepared to wait a while for your food, they are on Hawaiian time. But it is so worth the wait.

At first, I thought I was at the wrong location based on the previous photos in Yelp, but I realized they had moved. It was a hot day and I was hoping that the indoor dining was air conditioned, but that was not the case. They did have the fans running, but not enough to keep us cool in this heat. However, we heard so many great things about them and we came hungry so we were looking forward to getting our grub on. And they did not disappoint with the generous portions which we ended up with leftovers for later.5/5 - Ono Chicken - A must try! The star out of all the things we ordered. Bomb!4.5/5 - Spicy Ahi Poke - Sauce was a tad bit too much, but still delicious.5/5 - Walnut Shrimp - Huge prawns and cooked perfectly.3/5 - Shrimp Katsu - Overcooked and dry, but with the sauce, it had flavor.3.5/5 - Kalua Pork - Lacked the smoky flavor and was under seasoned, but very tender.3/5 - Mac Salad - A little bland but balanced out with the flavors of the other dishes. It really brought us back to the islands and we are so happy to have good Hawaiian food in Portland. I wish they were closer to us in the west side of the Portland Metro in either Beaverton or Hillsboro, but it was definitely worth the trip.

If you're a fan of Hawaiian and Filipino food and a welcoming atmosphere, Grind Wit Tryz is a must-visit. Their Spicy Bomb, a spicy ahi poke, is nothing short of explosive in the best way possible--fresh, and with just the right kick. The Ahi Katsu was also a standout, perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside. The Spam, egg, and katsu combo was a nostalgic delight, blending comfort food with huge portions. It also had Mac salad and rice that comes with it. The dishes are overall HUGE! The ambience was spacious and clean, featuring comfortable booth seats that make it a great spot for both casual meals and special gatherings. The staff were helpful and friendly, the cashier recommended up some of these dishes. Highly recommend Grind Wit Tryz for anyone craving delicious, well-prepared food in a great setting.

My bf and I came here for lunch (it's been on my list for so long), and there were just too many things I wanted to try. I finally decided on the Trio Plate with Garlic Shrimp, Shrimp Katsu, and Krack Chicken. My bf got the Combo Plate with Garlic Shrimp and Ono Chicken. They were nice, big plates of food, and oh, so yummy. Everything on my dish was delicious. All so full of flavor. I had leftovers, and gladly ate it later in the hotel room. Having been wanting to come back since.

First time trying this place out. Got a Chicken Katsu Dynamite plate and a side of Mac. The portions are HUUGE. The Mac salad was good but dry. Needs more mayo or some kind of sauce. Chicken Katsu was GREAT. Not too thick breading, and had the perfect crunch. Only thing that could have made it better was more sauce. The top pieces are well coated but the pieces underneath were bone dry. Luckily, they worked well with dipping in sriracha. There is a bit of a wait so I would advise making an order online. Definitely would come back and may just ask for an extra side of the sauces.

Nothing fancy in decore , but what matters is the food!! The Ono chicken is to die for large portions and so crispy and flavorful. The loco moco is excellent too . Tons of meat with two eggs and gravy . We try and stop on our drive through Oregon!! A must stop and they are very friendly too! Outdoor seating which was great since we had a dog with us.
