Ok, this place is AWESOME!!!Stopped in on a Thursday morning, got a table right away, hot coffee was brought over in about a minute. The menu had SO many great-looking options, that it was hard to choose. We decided to split two things as it was impossible to settle on just one.We ended up ordering a western omelet and the vegan buckwheat and sweet potato pancakes. The western omelet was exceptional. A western is one of my go-tos and this one was a three egger stuffed with cheddar cheese, ham, onions and a trio of multi-colored sweet peppers. It also came with a LARGE and crispy disc of home friesThe vegan buckwheat and sweet potato pancakes with roasted apples and vegan yogurt we SO fantastic and SO gigantic. We decided to go with the order of three and no joke, continued eating these pancakes for the next three days. They taste like Christmas in the best possible way.

The wait time is wild considering this is basic breakfast food, nothing too frilly. They don't text so you have to stay close for a name call. We came on a weekday and they said we couldn't order a BLT bc it was a holiday (I understand no lunch, but I could have separately ordered a side of toast, bacon, tomato, and lettuce and assembled a BLT at the table? so that felt insane). Space is obviously small but nicely kept up with, staff was kind. Overall, no need to come back there is better breakfast elsewhere.

Real, real, real popular place, I can see why, the food looks fantastic, the restaurant smells fantastic. The hispanic cooks and dishwashers works their butts off which can be viewed in the open kitchen from the counter.I ordered their country fried steak medium with eyeballs looking up and of course hash browns, the sausage gravy was real real real rich, not so much like the spicy sausage gravy that the south serves, I think if they had white pepper, that would top it off perfectly.Waitress Amanda was very helpful in suggesting future dishes to try. I definitely will have this place on my favorites list,

Always good, never disappoints! Tried out the chile verde and that was surprisingly delicious. Super tender, fall apart pork. The French toast was very soft in the inside and crispy on the outside. Lastly of course the biscuit and veggie gravy did not miss. Very tasty!

Key Points:- Must try the French Toast!- Casual and Comfy DecorThe Mrs. The Little One and I recently visited Gravy for brunch during a trip to Portland for our dear friend's wedding. We heard great things about this place through multiple food reviews. The decor was unassuming and homey, perfect for a casual brunch spot. Nothing fancy or flashy. But the food certainly blew my mind:Country Fried Steak and Eggs - This was a real steak, I believe top sirloin, unlike the usual ground beef version. It was cooked to a perfect medium-rare, savory, juicy, and delicious. And the crust? Forget the Maillard reaction! What better way to build a crispy crust than to country fry it?!Blueberry Pecan Pancakes - Because I love pancakes. These looked delightful and tasted just as good as they looked. Soft, fluffy, and sweet, they paired perfectly with coffee.Challah French Toast - The star of the show. Everything I said about the pancakes and more! I'm not usually a French toast fan, but I ordered this because I heard it was amazing. They did not disappoint. In fact, it was the best French toast I've ever had! They actually blew the pancakes out of the water!Gravy is a must-try brunch spot in Portland. The wait time wasn't terrible, though it was on a weekday morning. We waited about 20 minutes and checked out neighboring businesses while on the waitlist. I don't want to imagine what the weekend wait times are like. Free street parking was found a block away.Overall, Gravy lived up to the hype and I would highly recommend it for a delicious brunch experience in Portland.

We had a great breakfast at Gravy, I suggest you get there early to avoid a long wait. We made it in just before 9 and were seated immediately, but then the line started stretching out the door. Our server was incredibly sweet and attentive. She checked in several times, and when some of the food didn't hit the spot, she offered suggestions on how to make it right.I didn't care for the gravy. I know, I know! It's supposed to be the best. I found it overcomplicated and had a sweet taste that didn't fit. I think I'm a one-off, but if you're looking for that traditional white sausage gravy from the South, this isn't the place. I don't think I would have been as disappointed if I'd gone in expecting a twist on the classic gravy. For me, that was the only drawback. Otherwise, everything was delicious, and the mammoth hasbrowns were 100/10! The servings were humongous and easily shared. They have a kid's menu with smaller options like pancakes or biscuits with gravy. I recommend checking out Gravy. Meanwhile, I'll continue on my quest for a southern homestyle gravy.

Order: Delise Omelet and side of Blueberry PancakesPros: was able to get seated immediately no issues. Service was great! Great googly moogly this was a lot of food. The portions were huge. And listen, im a big guy and can eat. However, i did not finish the meal. This can easily feed 2-3 ppl as big as the omelet and pancakes were. The omelet was the star of the show. Flavorful, packed, and seasoned well. The pancakes were huge and there was a lot of blueberries.Cons: I sat at the bar and watched the cooks pick up all the ingredients for food with their barehands through the window (see picture with res circle). Wasnt a fan of the pancakes. They were too dense for me. I like my pancakes light and airy. I did find an eggshell in my food and managed to spit out a piece of it.

First off this is not format large groups or the impatient. My kid took me out for to Gravy for Father's Day. I have been here a couple of times before but have failed to do a review. But I am here to remedy that. The first two times I sat at the bar. It made the restaurant feel smaller but you also get to hear the staff chitchat. We were at a table this time. It was a better setup for chatting with my offspring. As a gravy man Gravy is a no brained to try, and with gravy in the name, Gravy needs to deliver. I am here to report not only did they exceed expectations on this trip but on both of my previous visits. I have done a Biscuit and Gravy each trip and their famous pan fried hash browns. This time I chose to do half/half it was a wonderful mix of the traditional country style gravy and a mushroom gravy that is anything but a substitute for its deceived cousin. With broccoli as a star ingredient I sopped up every last drop with the amazing pan fried hash browns. And by the way get the pan fried hash browns Fo Sho.

They'll always have a line waiting outside and you know it's good if there is. - it's worth the wait so get there early. You get a big ass hash brown and large piece of country fried steak. The French toast is probably my favorite and I recommend adding the berry compote on it. Taste even better cold!Tip- order the bacon and hash brown extra crispy
