I'm from the tristate area back east and this is the best cheesesteak for the price in the Portland & Beaverton area, in my opinion. I went to 5 different places in the last month and ordered the same at each and Grant's is a little more expensive, but they had the largest portion size and the quality of meat and bread was good. The service has been great too.

Order: Grants whole orig with soda and fry'sPros: So I will say the restaurant new they had meWaiting a long time for food. They ended up giving me a free chicken sandwich for my wait. This is in addition to my cheesesteak I ordered. Cons: They obviously need help! They messed up a few orders and it took a good minute (i.e., 30 min) to receive mine. The guy that came and ordered after me received his food before me. When I got home, I noticed the frys were overcooked. The sandwiches were dry and were bland.

The food is good but I find them to be ripping people off. I paid 17.50 for a whole sandwich, 6.50 for added fries and a drink. .75 cents each for two sauces, 2.75 for mushrooms. Total of 27.75 and was charged 33 something. Is it even legal to be charging people local measure taxes??

RUN DONT WALKThe food was so good!! Opted for a half original and a half with cheese whiz. Perfectly seasoned, packed sandwich, we did not order sides or a drink because we truly weren't super hungry. Well after our halves, we got the chips with queso on the side, and another half!! Chips are fresh made to order, came out hot and perfectly seasoned, the cheese sauce was hot and slightly spicy, perfection. The owner (wife) came to the table to ask how everything tasted, she was so kind, and honestly made the place feel like I'm at a friends house and mom's cooking.Highly recommend this place, I will be coming back

So i never seemed to get here when they were open. Finally, the universe aligned, and I got in. My wife had a half American cheese Philly and loved it. My son in law had the Grant's Original and added mayo and loved it too.I had a whole Wiz Philly- literally amazing. In my top 2-3 Phillys in the area after my first couple of bites. The sweet peppers were so good in it. The thing I loved most was the fact that every bite had cheese, meat, and peppers. Great rolls, too. Perfect amount of softness and density. If you like a good Philly you need to get here. The only downside for customers is they are closed on Saturdays for religious purposes. I'm fine with that, and think it is refreshing that they have values. But you have to remember that Saturdays are closed. Great job and great place!

The food quality is good enough here. Good that they offer cheese whiz as they do in Philly. Cheesesteaks are my favorite food and while I could definitely eat this one again, it didn't instantly become a top dish in Portland for me either.Unfortunately, prices are outrageous.I don't think I've ever seen an $18 12-inch cheesesteak so unlikely I'll be back.

A small little hidden joint at the basement of a building. It only has a few tables and nothing fancy. It's a nice little spot tho. The lady taking our order at the counter was informative and helpful. I ordered the grants original and added cheese wiz. DO THAT!! Especially if you're a cheese lover like myself. My friend has the Grant's original as ordered and said she wished there was more cheese. The sandwich was delicious! We made ours a combo with a drink. For two 6 in combos it was about $40. It is a bit pricey so know that going in. The fries were pretty good too for just a plain fry. Should I ever be back in downtown Portland and wanting a cheesesteak, I'd definitely come here again.

The lady working the counter was very nice and the rosemary garlic fries were great, and the dining area was cute and decorated, but it was a bit dark. The sandwich was kind of dry though, which could have totally been due to the one I picked, but I also asked and paid for extra mushrooms and could not even tell there were any on the sandwich. For a $17+ sandwich, I was expecting better than what I received. I would be willing to give them a second try though

Food was good very small choice but acceptable. If you want a sandwich it works too bad the city rips you off for parking for take out. Toe trucks circling the area. Most cities have 15 minute spots by restaurants for take out. Service ok to bad only open for lunch and early dinner
