今日は翻訳業界の同業者と一緒に初めて来ましたが、ほとんど全部好印象でした。Flying Fish Companyで噂の燻製サーモンプレートを注文しました。正直、燻製サーモンなんてどこでも食べられると思ってましたが、これが意外と...いや、かなり美味しかったです。しっかりとした燻製の香りと絶妙な塩加減で、噛むほどに旨味がじわじわと広がります。うーん、このサーモン、家庭では再現できないなと諦めました。そして一緒についてきたディップが3種類、どれも個性的で、味の組み合わせをいろいろ試せるのが楽しいです。特に、チーズ、マスタード、フルーツのディップを混ぜてサーモンと一緒に食べると、これがまた絶妙なバランスで最高でした。これが一番美味しい食べ方かも？と一人で密かに納得してしまいました。Appleサイダーもなかなか爽やかで、燻製の香りをさっぱりと引き立ててくれる名脇役でした。お店全体の雰囲気もポートランドらしいカジュアルな感じで、気取らずにリラックスできる空間です。スタッフの方も丁寧で、感じが良く、終始気持ちよく過ごせました。まあ、ポートランドで新鮮なシーフードを楽しむなら、ここは外せないかもしれませんね。また近くに来たら、もう一度寄りたいと思わせるお店でした。

Was looking for some seafood during my time in PDX and Flying Fish kept coming up and it definitely delivered. They got a fish market and a restaurant going on the inside and ordering take out was simple.We tried a bunch of different things and they were all excellent. 1. The best thing was probably the rockfish and chips. Best fried fish I've had anywhere - perfectly crisp battered fish, not greasy and clean, meaty flavor. Everything you can ask for in fried fish portions. The fries were nothing special, but seasoned fine at least. 2. Seared Steelhead trout was phenomenal. Well seasoned, perfectly crisp skin, it was a treat to eat. Again, no fishiness at all and the lemon brightens it up. Comes with a bit of citrus kale slaw as a palate cleanser and while bright, I found it a tad bit too acidic.3. Poke - very good quality tuna poke, super well seasoned and actually a pretty good amount of fish. The coconut jasmine rice was equally good pairing with it, but I think my wife was expecting more of a poke bowl. I would say if you want more of a poke bowl vibe, get a side of the kale slaw and mix it up.4. Clam chowder - thinner than I like my usual chowder, it's still good if you're wanting some soup on a cold day. Adding oyster crackers helps bulk it up too. There's chopped clams, herbs and mirepoix in there and some small cubes of potatoes. Can say I've had better but not overly rich and goes down clean.Portion sizes are a bit on the smaller side, but quality is top notch and well worth it. Parking is a nightmare on the street in the evening, but once you get in, there's plenty of seating.

This rating is solely on an issue I experienced during my recent visit on Friday 09/20/24 at approximately 6:00pm. My dining experience was mostly enjoyable, but I felt compelled to share an incident that negatively impacted my experience.After completing my meal and leaving a tip on the tablet, the waitress who was working the outside dining area made a loud and unnecessary comment regarding the amount I left. The remark was both unprofessional and uncomfortable, particularly because it was made in front of other patrons. I believe tipping is a personal decision, and I was disappointed that such a comment was made, especially in a setting where customers should feel respected and valued.I would appreciate it if this matter could be addressed with your staff to ensure that other patrons do not experience a similar situation. While I understand everyone has their off moments, professionalism should always be maintained.It is particularly unfortunate, as I was visiting from out of state and had traveled many miles to dine at your establishment. Given the effort it took to visit, it was a shame to have this experience.

Loved the smoke salmon there. Also bought some local fresh fish from them to fly home with me. It didn't disappoint at all. The fries were good. The poke on the other hand was more like ceviche, there was opaqueness to the fish cured by lime/lemon juice. I prefer raw fish.

Another 5 star experience a flying fish. They never disappoint. Quite literally my favorite spot in this city, best oysters in Portland!!!

What is better than fish and wine on a hot summer night. New favorite restaurant in Portland. This place rocks. The oysters and salmon crudo were fresh and plated so beautifully. So flavorful. I can't wait to come back and try their poke. The sweet potato fries came with an aioli (which I always deem necessary)Everything was 10/10 and the service was great too. Also cool blue table

Great lunch spot for oysters and fried fish dishes! Lucky we found some street parking nearby. Service was great. Ambiance is very chill outdoor picnic bench set up. We ordered the dozen oysters - loved the variety that they offered and the mignonette sauce complimented it well. The fish and chips came out hot and the tartar sauce made it the perfect bite. Overall was a very filling dish with a side of refreshing salad. The fish tacos were okay, I was hoping for some yummy salsa to go with it.

They were SO KIND! Our server brought one for our son to try complementary because we didn't want to order a whole plate. And he really wanted to try it. She also taught him how to eat it which was a great experience right on the coast where they have lots of fresh seafood. The spicy shrimp tacos were amazing as was the sloth and grilled sockeye salmon. It wasn't fishy at all. I had the most beautiful flavor and was so refreshing to eat. They also had a seafood salsa was which was out of this world, we had the classic fish and chips that the children loved, they were so kind. It is outdoor seating patio style on picnic tables, but it was the best experience casual and perfect for a family night out where you have little children not wanting to sit still is a little bit tricky as it's a residential area, but we easily found a spot on the street.

Food and service rocked. Outdoor seating let me relax without worrying about other people's germs

Fish and chips were okay. Service attentive and ambience good. I've been twice, and don't live in Portland.
