Eris Cocktail Lounge

I hate to let my l'il secret out, but dude-- $8 HAPPY HOUR CRAFT COCKTAILS. Bartender/owner is one of the best around as far as being able to create drinks that are well balanced and surprising. He makes his own basil jello fer gawd's sake!

My siblings and I saw Eris Lounge on the map after we had tacos around the corner. It was late afternoon and they weren't that busy. We felt welcomed and the two behind the bar took extra steps to make sure we made good choices and listened to our preferences. I got the Ronin Holiday that was made with a sesame-type whiskey - I really enjoyed the balance of the flavors. My sister is pregnant so they made her a mocktail that she was able to enjoy and even changed up one of the drinks when she felt like it was a little too sweet. We shared an order of the cheese balls and the sweet tangy sauce it comes with was nice, but flavor of the cheesy balls was a little flat. The décor is fun and quirky. I really liked the chairs, they make you want to settle in for a while! There's some bartending books you could look through or art for sale from their guest artist.

This place is such a delight! Tony (owner/lead bartender) is one of the best bartenders in town, and he doesn't disappoint with a delicious, creative cocktail menu and a helluva whiskey selection. It's also one of the few places in town that actually does real (and excellent) table service! And FINALLY some comfortable bar stools and regular seats. The space cat theme is a nice touch, too. I'll definitely be a regular!

I am an old school geek. When I walked into Eris, I found myself a home. The lighting was appropriate. The music was just right. When it came to the cocktails, well, they blew my mind! I have never been to a bar trying to sample every offering, which is a dangerous endeavor. The cocktails are outstanding, the staff are approachable, and the whole experience excellent. There is even a Tardis bookshelf. Tony (owner/potions slinger) has done magic with the drinks he serves. If you want a feel of old Portland, with amazing drinks, this is the place to be.

Went for the second time last night and had drinks inside. Good cheap drinks at Happy Hour, and I love the hot pretzel. Chairs are really comfy -- the owner told us that they came from Portland Meadows! Nice mellow atmosphere with a sci-fi bent. In short, it's a great addition to the neighborhood!

Great vibe - nice service, nerdy decor, and amazingly dangerous cocktails. Pictured is the Discus Stu, not pictured was the Passion of the Chris (my favorite so far). Don't skip on the snacks, I enjoyed the cheese balls and yummy breaded chicken bites.
