This is a great space, in terms of the right place, with wide open floor plan for meet ups or work meetings makes it ideal. Having said that, don't sleep on their amazing matcha and pour over coffee options. No extra charge for oat milk ! I see this is becoming popular now, and even the "green mermaid" coffee chain has started to not charge extra for non dairy milks. This is truly one awesome, coffee house that stands out from the rest of them, can't wait to go back.

The coffee is delicious - had a soy milk cappuccino and almost wanted to order another. A friend said the same thing and loved their specialty latte. Very cute inside, and music is always appropriate volume for working. They were out of several things, like almond milk, by 11:40 on a Sunday, but what I had was so good that it didn't matter.

I needed somewhere to study today and after seeing photos of Electrica online I thought it looked like a nice spot to get some work done. I didn't realize this before I got here but it seems they specialize in green tea and matcha drinks. There was only one barista working at the time but he was super friendly. He enthusiastically explained what all the drinks were which I really appreciated. Some cons- they were out of coffee when I came lol. I thought this was a bit odd because they are a coffee shop. But that was fine I decided to get a green tea. It was good, you could tell it was high quality. But 4$ for a tiny little cup was a bit ridiculous. At the end of the day, this spot has great ambiance and I'm sure if you're into matcha this would be a good place for you. I personally wouldn't recommend though.

This place has so much light in the desserts are delicious. Do not let the rice flour ingredients fool you I honestly wanted to eat two of those little donuts. this is definitely a place I would come and hang out if I was looking for something more intimate being that it's in the industrial area. It's not really lively so you're not gonna get that kind of vibe. I like that there was one employee working the register and making drinks...which were made before servicing another customer that way you didn't have a long wait.

A beautifully clean, airy, and comfortable industrial space. It's modern and cozy-a great place to sit and read solo, or come chat with a friend. Service is friendly and everything feels curated with great attention to detail. Pour over menu is extensive. I had coffee (they have fun fusion lattes to explore), and will want to come back to make my way through their equally extensive tea menu. Food is limited to a few mochi sweet pastries-I wouldn't have minded a bit more selection. The stoneware elevates the drinking experience. I recommend getting your drinks "for here"; sit, and enjoy for a moment.

Their coffee beans are the pretentious kind most people absolutely could not care less about, and the comically small pastries they sell for what is just a bizarre price point look more like little plastic window displays than food. I honestly can't imagine anyone buying them. Look at 'em! They are just so small. And for HOW much? Yeah, no thanks. And let me tell you, the granola looking woman with long hair and a chip on her shoulder who was working there after we went to return a light next door has a godawful work attitude. Man was she not a good fit. What a cool looking place, though. Shame.

Portland coffee shops have a nice variety and diversity of drinks, and this one is no different. Located inside the Schoolhouse, there is a dedicated section of cafe and seats that constitute this establishment. The standout of this place is their Saikyo Latte, which is a miso coconut caramel with black sesame on top, and the latte art is great and the drink is interesting as it has a bit of savory notes. I got the 12 oz as oppsed to 8 oz which is just a 50 cent surcharge, and choosing oat milk does not cost extra, so I opted for that. $6.50 for the latte is a fair price for the uniqueness especially because there is no sales tax.

Electrica takes the craft of coffee and tea to another level. The 2 owners bring a passion and expertise to their Mexican coffee and Japanese tea program that comes through in every sip. Each item on the menu has been thoughtfully crafted and they've gone out of their way to feature a variety of coffees and teas that are truly unique. I went with a signature pour-over coffee and it was one of the best ones I've ever had. Perfectly balanced, not acidic at all, and some of the most dynamic flavors I've had in a cup of coffee. The space is industrial, stylish and chill. It's not crowded and since it's inside Schoolhouse Electric, you can peruse a bit while you're well-caffeinated. Definitely make the trip to NW Portland to experience Electrica's new approach to coffee and tea - in one of Portland's oldest buildings.

Overall, I enjoyed my experience. The ambiance was beautiful, it was very quiet and peaceful, and it seemed like a good place to get work done. I had a delicious fig & pandan matcha latte, while my friend had their pumpkin spice mole latte. We split a yummy black sesame donut. The barista did a great job, but I wish there were a few more tea options, as the only ones were matcha and hojicha.
