El Mezcalito Portland

Came with a large group and we all ordered dinners and most folks got alcohol. Outdoor patio is great - lots of tables and most have umbrellas. Server was super nice and got all our orders correct, but she was the only server working so service was very slow.As for the food, my husband and I both got shrimp fajitas and they were very good. Shrimp was plentiful, not overcooked, and the veggies were just a little bit crisp not soggy. Also nice was that they were not super oily/greasy. A bit pricey at $22 though.However, our friends all got tacos, taquitos/flautas, or the enchiladas, and they were all disappointing.- Fish tacos had one tiny piece of fish in it- Chicken tacos and taquitos/flautas were dry and lacking flavor- Enchiladas were lacking flavor and not filling- Drinks were ok; margaritas and Palomas were very sweet.Overall, it didn't impress.

These are the kind of people you want as neighbors. A woman was hit by a car and seriously hurt in the intersection adjacent this week (she is ok) and I saw how the entire staff came out to help, bringing ice bags and towels and redirecting traffic until the ambulance took her away- their team went above and beyond as neighbors in such a generous and kind way and patently waited for the police and ambulance to get everything, then they went out and even were cleaning up the accident scene. It was a shocking situation and the woman was ok- but the people who work here were 10000% the kind of people you want to support. I live nearby and admittedly have not yet eaten here, but after what I saw this week I am going to support them. I am going to try the food and will update but just couldn't let their acts of kindness go unrecognized.

BEST fish tacos in town! Don't miss out! Have tried several of their drinks and they've all been so good! Will keep coming back for more !

every time ive eaten here, ive been blown away by the food. super tasty quesadilla, fish tacos, al pastor tacos - in fact, dare I say they're the best al pastor tacos in portland! Nice outdoor patio too.

Absolutely delicious food, salsa and chips. Decided to try the new neighborhood Mexican restaurant and it didn't disappoint. Had three tacos ala carte, steak and chorizo. Wonderful flavors with a grilled tortilla. Green sauce and salsa served with the chips made these tacos just outstanding. I could eat here everyday. Total cost for lunch, $10.35. What a bargain compared to other restaurants on 23rd. No alcohol service yet though I was told licensing forthcoming. If you love authentic Mexican cooking this is your place.

After moving here from Texas I really hadn't found any Mexican food that I've loved, but my fajita meal here turned it around. I pray to the good lord above they home make their salsa as well because it was straight gas. Maybe things could have been spicier but beggars can't go choosers, all tasted great.

Ordered just 2 tacos!Best carnitas ever. The pork was truly roasted. Yum! Coming back for dinner!

Very sad that this place had decent food, but it's never open. They have weird hours and you cannot rely on them every time I go there they're closed.

The food was basically okay, tasty enough, but could have used more seasoning . I had two tacos, one was asada and it was bland except for a few onions. The pork taco was pastor with a few pieces of pineapple. The prices are reasonable for the tacos.The service was challenging. The server had to be reminded to bring water as I had asked and then to bring a napkin and silverware. It was not a busy time at all.The margarita was not noticeably alcoholic, and I don't drink much, so I can usually notice alcohol. Ambience was also challenging, no AC, no fans, Bathroom walls partially painted.

Service was super quick and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. My burrito was 10$ and huge!
