Asada taco and pastor taco. Loved the tortillas. Their tortillas are so soft and thin.

Well it was a decent experience. The food itself (vegan burrito) lacked real flavor but the salsa & sauces had an explosion of flavor. When I added hot sauce it made for a much better flavor. I was looking for more texture and spice IN the food itself not just the hot sauces. The chips were just okay. The bean & cheese burritos were great for all the kids as they were stuffed with beans and cheese and the kids really enjoyed them. As far as price, these burritos were pretty big and I thought the pricing was more than fair. The service was great and very kind. It was just kind of meh food overall.

Delicious, flavorful burritos. Tart quesadillas . Hot sauces were great too. Glad my kids and I ended up here. The tented seating is nice too in this summer heat.

Their pico & spicy orange salsa make this my favorite veggie burrito in PDX. Friendly, efficient service.

Delicious burritos! I recommend the spicy burrito. Their orange salsa is amazing. The folks working are always very sweet and it's relatively fast service. It's tucked away on Belmont amongst other great food carts.

Pros: nice people running the cart, quick service, locationCons: food is absolutely disgusting. I threw out half my burrito which is maybe the first time ever. I had a weird chemical taste in my mouth for the rest of the day (~8 hours). The red sauce was fermenting and threw up when I opened it; very obvious initial indicator I was not in for a treat. I had a little taste and it was rotten. My stomach hurt for the rest of the day and it took me several hours and beers to finally pee, indicative I had food poisoning (this is not my first burrito based food poisoning). When I got home I took activated charcoal and dodged the bullet of food coming out of the wrong hole. There are loads of nearby restaurants that at minimum will not cause food poisoning.

Vegan & Chicken burritos, chips and guacamole: saltless tasteless chips, uneatable Guacamole. Two star chicken burrito. Vegan burrito mostly rice, beans & Tofu. I didn't notice pico de gallo. Salsa very watery.

The woman that runs this cart is a sweetheart. Their mole sauce is SO good. Try the mole enchiladas, they won't disappoint. Their chicken tacos are also yummy. My partner loves their burritos and we like the murals on the wall at the outdoor seating area.

If you're looking for authentic Mexican foods, this is a food cart I would recommend. I was scouring Portland for a Torta that was halfway decent and El Chilito Loco delivered on that! The bread is always to my liking, its never soggy and the meats are seasoned well. I exclusively go here for tortas and they never disappoint me. I spoke with both owners concerning the one star reviews on here about them being closed early/discriminating against people or LBGTQ+. They said that on that particular day, they were having big technical issues with their food truck and its fan exhaust system. The owners HAD to shutdown the food services, until they fixed that. If not, the truck would fill up with smoke. They literally were not able to cook for a couple of hours. They later re-opened that day and were able to serve the remainder of the day. As a bilingual POC, and someone who works in the industry, I cannot stress how important it is to communicate with your hosts, servers, cooks, etc. especially if there is a language barrier. They said that they do not deny service to anyone and they are LBGTQ+ allies. COVID did a number on all businesses around here. Let's keep that in mind when leaving reviews that affect other peoples businesses. Especially if the food is good and you are able to eat there when they are open and not having technical problems. I was not paid or given free food for this review. I'm just a satisfied customer. I believe in honest, just, hardworking people who make delicious food and in my experience, that exactly what I have found at El Chilito Loco.
