I can't believe this is my first time visiting Duck House! I've heard of great things and had high expectations. They typically open at 11am but we did have to wait a few minutes for them to open up but once we sat down our orders were quickly taken. Service is just OK but honestly on par with authentic Chinese restaurants but I didn't mind because I was here for the delicious food. We got ice water right away but a pot of tea almost half way through our meal. I would say the lunch specials are where it's at! You get 2 scoops of white or vegetable fried rice and half a plate filled with your preferred entree. I was surprised I ate it all during lunch because leftovers were in my plans but my cumin lamb was so tender with the right amount of spice and I couldn't stop eating!Their menu has a lot of options to accommodate vegetarian and gluten free diets. I would totally come back to try new things or return for that cumin lamb next time! Come check it out and find your new favorites!

I recently visited Duck House Chinese restaurant and had a good overall experience. I ordered the honey walnut shrimp and mapo tofu. The honey walnut shrimp was delicious but the mapo tofu was unfortunately drowning in oil. Although the portions were generous, there was so much oil that the mapo tofu became unappetizing. :( On other note, service was good! Ambiance was decent, a little loud for my preference. Parking was a bit difficult.Recommended for those looking for generous portions and tasty dishes!

This is definitely the place to go to in Portland for Sichuan cuisine. My family ordered the water boiled fish, egg plant, lamb, and mao xue wang (a hot pot kinda soup with fish, pig intestines, and pig blood). Everything was pretty good but the mao xue wang was definitely the highlight. The servers were pretty attentive too which I appreciated.

In a part of the world where good Chinese Food is so hard to find, Duck House is an oasis. Honey Walnut Shrimp, Veggie Fried Rice, Broccoli with Garlic Sauce, and a plate piled with little tiny pork spareribs - all manna from heaven! The service is efficient and somewhat surly, and the dining area is ridiculously loud, but we hardly noticed as we were tucked into so much good-ol-fashioned-childhood-memory-releasing YUM! It will be difficult to not arrange all future trips to Portland to include a meal here.

This place is the spot for Szechuan food! Sunday night and the place is packed! Great to see a downtown restaurant this busy. Definitely reccomend coming with a small group so you can try tons of dishes. The green beans were flavorful and crisp. Dan Dan noodles had a great texture and flavor. Wontons in chili oil were a fav. We loved the bean curd with leeks, competing textures in a mild sauce that works so well! The wonton chili oil dumplings are great, the chili oil isn't overly spicy but adds a nice depth to the wontons. The Chon Qing chicken is delicious. It's hot but totally manageable if you don't eat all the chilis. Can wait to come back. Service was smooth, food is good and we got seated right away!

Atmosphere: As far as Chinese restaurants go this place had a nice, modern atmosphere. Unfortunately, they had some kind of animated show on TV and were unable to change the channel since the remote didn't work so we were unable to watch Monday Night FootballFood: Food was greatPrice: Prices were fair for sit-down ChineseService: Service was adequate. They made an effort to change the channel for us but weren't able to.Parking: Street parking

Great service, our waitress was super nice and helpful, she told us which dish is good! The food portion is huge! We ordered 5 dishes for 4 people, after everyone was full, we still took half food home! Mapo tofu was delicious! Shredded potatoes were great, perfectly cooked with great sour spicy flavor. Cumin lamb was tasty with big pieces of lamb.Reasonable price for the food you get, especially its location.

The wonton Szechuan in chili oil was amazing! Definitely recommend it. The wait time can get very long so definitely try to out you name down beforehand. The service is also very slow so beware.
