Double Dragon

Went there with my family and had drinks and dinner. Everyone loved what they had. I had the wonton wrapper nachos with pork and it was one of the most delicious meals I have ever had. Yeah, I definitely recommend this place. Everyone who was working there at the time was great, too. No complaints here. I look forward to returning.

We were staying nearby while visiting Portland and our host recommended this place. Glad we listened. The Banh mi sandwiches here are BOMB. Truly. I got the chicken, my partner got the pork. These sandwiches aren't traditional banh mi's but they are a wonderfully delicious version of them. From the fresh cilantro, to the crusty bread and the pickled vegetables in it, all the flavors and the textures were a perfect combo. Only downside was that I got a mocktail here since I don't really drink (it was a strawberry lemon mocktail, forgot the name) and although it was really pretty adorned with fancy ice, it tasted like cough syrup. Maybe they use a fake strawberry syrup? Was a bummer. Didn't drink it and it wasn't cheap. The ambiance here is dark and moody, especially at night which is when we went, but the staff was friendly. We sat at the bar and we asked for the check we weren't given an itemized receipt which I found weird. We had a long travel day and were tired so we didn't really care at the moment but I thought it was strange to order food and not get an itemized receipt. Although we gave the bartender a cash tip, I'm thinking they might have already charged us tip which is weird.

This place has awesome outdoor seating area. You have to order at the bar, but they do have bussers that buss the table from time to time. The menu is small - 4-ish items. Between the four of us, we got the rice bowl with soy curls, which was good - crispy soy curls are a bit too sweet, which was weird for me, but they were alright otherwise. Our friends got the bánh mi and said it was good. I got the burger, and while the burger and bun were good, they use nasty American cheese that sticks to the inside of your mouth. I can't for the life of me figure why they would decide to ruin a burger with such a cheap ingredient.Also, when I looked at my credit card statement after I got home a couple of days later, it looks like they charged me $10-$15 more than I was supposed to get charged. My partner and I ordered the burger, rice bowl, a beer and a sparkling water and it came out to $65! They didn't give me a receipt, so I am not sure what happened there. My friends had mentioned also getting shafted by this place when they left their tab open and the place "accidentally" charged someone else's food/drink to their tab. Other than the great outdoor seating, there's nothing really appealing about this place.

This looks like a place that would be fun for a group that might include children. However, when we got there, the server rather snarly told us that they don't allow kids after 630. There is a large outdoor space and it seems like it might work for groups or families. However, this is just a bar with nice food or nice looking food as we weren't allowed to eat it. Edited: I had to search on the Yelp app to find out that the restaurant isn't great for kids. It might be good to have that more prominently displayed. I also went to Instagram and the website that was linked Instagram and I don't see anything about when kids are or are not allowed.

Not going to lie, Ive been to this place like 3x and I know its not the top notch of ramen BUT like come onnn THAT HOUSE RAMEN.... babyyy its best. Bless the chef mother and the BAR, because who dont love a bar that servesssss feel like an old friend... This place entire set up is a hidden gem.

That fry sauce, yowza. Great stuff. The banh mi was not what I was accustomed too but still absolutely delicious. And the brussel sprouts were good, albeit more chewy than I expected. Still, the food was nicely satisfying.

Back for lunch. This time we were the first customers here between 12-1pm on a weekday. No confusing lines and immediate service from the bartender. Sat in the covered patio outside. Our food selection was 2 banh mi sandwiches (pork belly & chicken), 1 burger, 1 French fry and 1 side potato salad. Notes on the food:Everything is à la carte. My companions had the banh mi's and had no complaints. I had the burger and it was so delicious. Maybe my favorite burger in town. Juicy meat, flavorful sauce, pillowy bun. The fries were hot, crispy, salty and tasty, albeit standard. My party didn't care for the potato salad. The pieces of potato were cut extra-large and weren't exactly bite size so it was awkward to eat. The fresh dill was a nice touch but the mustard seeds were odd. I also did not enjoy the "Push Pop" cocktail. It didn't taste *anything* like the frozen childhood treat I remember. The tastes weren't complimentary, and the best I can describe it as is creamy pineapple and soy sauce. On the other hand the Fort George Vortex IPAs we had were great. Not a huge selection of beer/cider/wine, but they specialize in mixed cocktails with cute names. There is a small food menu here but what they do make is pretty good. I kind of wish they had more rotating specials. Also wish they'd bring back that Surf &Turf Burger!! Yum. Something new: looks like there's a couple more inside restrooms nowadays, which is great because there only used to be 1. The seating area in the back had also been reimagined and looks chic and welcoming. It also was apparent while we were there that a brand new deck is being built. I overheard the bartender say that it will be a wooden raised deck with a fire pit in the center.

Wish I'd have caught the photo of our rice bowl before digging in but we just couldn't wait. Food was awesome. Perfect service and the environment is super casual and comfortable. Will absolutely be a normal spot for us for a quick later evening meal. We had the rice bowl with kimchi and a soft egg (no meat) and the Bahn Mi with pork belly. Both delicious!

Food was mediocre. The staff was nice. It was extremely overpriced and not too much. Peter than a microwave meal.

Such a fun place to grab drinks! There's such a variety of cocktails to choose from and they even show you which glass it's presented it on the menu. I really appreciated that. The drinks we ordered (basically the entire menu for our group) were fun, colorful, and tasty. We chatted with the bartenders and they were fun to chat with. We ordered some fries for snacks which came out hot and crispy. I'll have to come by here to try more food next time.
