Dirty Pretty

The drinks were absolutely phenomenal. 10/10 all around! I had the Star Gaze, Blush, Jungle Juice and Only Fans. I will definitely come back for more.

Came here to get cocktails at this classy yet casual bar in Burnside. Dirty Pretty is a good description of it. It has a pretty casual feel, but fun though. Has some pretty fucking strong cocktails. The food menu is pretty limited for vegans, with things like fish tacos, and nachos with cheeses and meats. Best things here are the cocktails. It's about $12 for the cheapest, but they have a happy hour. The best one of these we got was the Jungle Juice. Packs a punch, and some kicks to the ass. This is made with cacao, Jamaican rum, orange, pinot noir, and stone pine fruit. Could have gotten food too if it wasn't such slim pickings for anything plant based. The sweet potato fries are about the only okay option, but these come with a whole bunch of dips like cheeses and ranch sauces. For sure it has a cool atmosphere. It's not as crazy as many of the other bars around here. The cocktails are the main thing, and they have ahi and pork belly tacos, but there's pretty much nothing for vegans.

The cocktails, and menu were decent enough. We sat at the bar top (party of 4) and all sat with empty glasses after our first round for longer than 10 minutes. Would have had a second round had we gotten service. Bartender did not serve a single person at the bar top and only camped in the Service well. Server or bar back who had initially taken our order didn't check back in once. Once I asked for the bill, I was asked to "give me a minute". We were all disappointed in the quality of service considering the reputation. Keep in mind that we had eye contact with each of the service staff mentioned in this post, several times. The server had her hair down and armpits exposed when running food which I'm pretty sure is health code. Watched the bartender put her fingers in her mouth while looking at the back bar for a Japanese whiskey bottle and then make a cocktail without washing hands.

Drinks were phenomenal, service was great, music was loud but it was a Friday night and I enjoyed it. The food was great as well! I got the elote egg rolls and the sweet potato fries with the sauces, their ranch is fire!! Wish I took pics but we all dived in once the food was set down. I'll be back!

Drink was delicious! It was dusted with gold. Food was tasty - ordered the ahi & beef taco. Went for HH during the week and sat on the patio. Cute space. Friendly main bartender. On the patio, there is a waft of cigarette smoke. I couldn't tell if it was from next door. Otherwise outside is cute.

If there is one thing that draws crowds in Portland -it has to be an open patio on summer evenings and Dirty pretty has that plus some good drinks and an even better service. when we arrived on Friday evening we were seated indoors because there wasn't any place outside but eventually after two rounds of drinks we were able to move outside and enjoy the beautiful evening breeze. The inside seating even though ample seems a little cramped and tables are on the smaller side making it hard to comfortably accommodate multiple things . Outside is bigger and the seating more comfortable .In addition there is also bar seating . The cocktails we tried were all pretty good - Spirited Away, Demeter ,Mezcal old fashioned and Burnside Bully .Cant go wrong with either of these . The food menu felt limited but it's good enough to go with drinks. We got the Hush Mollys , Fries and the Tacos and I felt everything was OK(ish) .Food isn't there strong point for sure. Service was good albeit they did overcharge us and there were multiple transactions on our card but calling them resolved it easily. Pricing seemed reasonable.

I wanted to come back and update my old review. I came back with a group of friends. We were in on a Monday evening so it wasn't busy. We all got the "only fans", yummy. We also tried a Vibe check which was too savory I felt like I was drinking coconut curry or something. My reason for giving 3 instead 5 stars now- is because it took a long time for us to get our drinks 10-15 minutes each time. At one point someone from our table went in to ask and said the server was standing around talking and our drinks were ready sitting. Also, rats... In a back corner of the patio where we sat, there seemed to be a storage area? There was a rat skeleton in sight.. We were like uhh hmm questionable but became vigilant. But then we witnessed a live full size rat 3-4 times that was running under tables/benches and once right past our feet. I know it's the city and rats are around and I'm sure they are hard to get rid of... Dirty pretty is connected to 3-4 other similar establishments with outdoor seating so I'm sure that all has an affect on it. But I have never witnessed rats while drinking/dining out outside before or at the connected establishments. Naturally it feels un hygienic in general for many reasons.. Who knows what else they are getting into. They carry diseases and people are eating food outside. Not to mention the back door stays open so it feels unfortunate as the dirty pretty is a cute/social cocktail bar.

The food is ok - outdoor seating is nice - but service is not that great. I could go into details about any of this but frankly, Portland has such an amazing food and drink scene that it's safe to say you won't miss anything if you don't try this spot.

Summer patio option. Cute cocktails, friendly staff, instagrammable "aren't you pretty" sign out back, can accommodate multiple credit cards.

What a cute place to celebrate with the girls for a birthday! We had an intimate little booth reserved for us by the door. It was fabulous. The cocktails were so delicious they could be dangerous! Lol the waitress was so sweet and even took some group pictures of us. Beyond wonderful service. The scallion pancake was different than I expected. I thought it would be thinner and more crepe like but it was a fluffy American style pancake. The filling was flavorful and I enjoyed the sweet chili sauce. Just different than I expected. I'd love to come back for the tasty cocktails and small bites .
