Da Pine Grinds is a food truck serving up Hawaiian food with a healthy attitude. It is parked in the Sugarpine Drive In lot and run by Sugarpine. I had the Kalua Pork plate. The smoked pork has a drizzle of vinegary sauce, not overly sweet and not overly drenched. The mac salad has al dente elbows, a little potato, some shredded carrot and a touch of fresh chives in a light dressing. It was garnished with violet petals. The vegetable salad had tiny baby bok choy, fresh sweet peppers, celery, and carrot in a light oil dressing. The brown rice has the best ever crunchy and salted furikake sprinkled atop. There are many variations on furikake, and I need to search this one at the Asian grocery. The pork incorporated a little salt, but the dishes were not over salted. The portion was substantial can could easily feed two. It is served in a sturdy paper container with a logoed plastic lid. The utensils are plastic, but there is nothing wrong with bringing your own reusable ones. It would be easy to plate this meal at home too. They have a variety of canned and bottled drinks. I had a sour tamarind - saffron botanical soda. Raw tamarind is sour, with maybe a slight overtone of orange. Some enterprising Portland maker needs to enter the botanical soda business. The Sugarpine Drive In and the Da Pine Grinds truck have independent schedules you can find on their website. They are also active on Insta. Their large smoker is on the Sugarpine lot, we will see if the truck goes mobile! The tradition of surfing started in the Pacific Islands on 25 foot solid koa boards. They were heavy, it took strength to carry them, and some body weight to control them on the break. The chief with the largest board, of course, was the biggest and heaviest, probably from eating all the Pacific Island foods! This is a lighter interpretation of that food, filtered through Sugarpine's vision of quality and creativity. Yummy!

Had a combo plate with Kalua Pig and Ahi Poke. Just amazing. Some of the best Poke we've had on the mainland. The whole plate was ono!

THE. WAIT. IS. OVER. I've been waiting a year for this. One of the best Hawaiian food in Oregon. I don't know what they did to the recipe, but it's even better than last year's, and last year was yummy! Their kimchi vinaigrette salad is flavorful; glad they added more seasoning to the macaroni salad, and pork/rice is a tad dry but still hits the spot. Lots of love was put into this. I mean, just look at the picture . Pricing is a bit expensive, but I get it, their ingredients are fresh. I'll be back!!

Perfect! It was great and I can't wait to come back for more POG slushies. The salad dressing was so tasty and the meat was tender.

Great food and service. Definitely have no regrets and will be going back. So glad my husband and I found this place. We got so full, we didn't have room for ice cream. Next time, we'll bring the kids so we can try the ice cream together.
