Came here for lunch once and it was delicious. Although I've passed by this Vietnamese spot countless times, I've never dined in here until my boyfriend kept talking about how it was a spot that he used to love going to. The outside of the restaurant is a bit unassuming and it is located right next to a parking garage. However, the inside of the restaurant has big windows, lots of seating, and is very clean. They have a menu at the front where you order at a counter, and after seating, the food is brought to you. We ordered a bowl of pho and their vermicelli bowl with their specialty pork, and both were delicious. The portions were huge, protein was plenty, and the aromatics were amazing. I was especially surprised by their specialty pork as it was so crispy and the perfect balance between salty/crunch and soft/juicy. Something else that I really appeciated was that their condiments were kept really clean. Probably one of the best Vietnamese spots in downtown Portland.

Vietnamese food is one of my favorite cuisines, so I was excited to try this spot. I ordered chicken pho, chicken spring rolls, and a vermicelli bowl with chicken and shrimp. The food came out just as expected--amazing. The servers were kind and accommodating. However, while enjoying the vermicelli bowl, I noticed a fried spring roll on top. I decided to double-check and asked the woman at the front what was inside the spring roll. She casually replied, "pork." Her indifferent attitude really bothered me, especially since I had already mentioned that I don't eat pork several times while ordering my food. When I told her again, she showed no concern or care. There weren't that many customers in the store, so again I don't understand why she didn't care. If you have dietary restrictions, I strongly recommend double and triple-checking your food here, as it seems some people really don't care. That's why I'm giving this place 3 stars. The guys serving us were awesome, and the food (minus the pork) was great, but the owner's dismissive attitude left a bad taste in my mouth.

Had the banh mi sandwich with the lemongrass pork. The sandwich was sizable, enough for two people to share. Veggies were fresh and the sandwich was tasty. The pork was a little sweet for my taste but overall satisfying. I will have to come back for the salad rolls sometime.

The best Southern Vietnamese food I ever had in my life. It was so good. The food, the ambiance, and the services were all spot on. Once entering the restaurant, you walk up to the register to place your order. If you choose to dine in, let them know. Then go grab your sauce, water/tea, napkin, and utensils, and choose your seat. Once your order is ready, they will bring your order over to your table. But once you finish, remember to take all your dishes including the napkins over to the bucket... ORDERED: Beef Pho - it was delicious and filling. I put spicy sauce on it Chicken Pho - it was delicious but lighter compared to beef Pho if you don't have a big appetite. I put spicy sauce on it and it was so good and yet filling.Meatball spring roll - so good. I like how it comes with a big chunk of meatballs on top. I prefer peanut sauce with it over the fish sauce Pork spring roll - so good. Chicken spring roll - so good. Thai ice tea Viet ice coffee - so delicious and strong.

Was the first place I went when I arrived to Portland. This places pho and banh mi are always on point. The broth of the pho is from bones and such you can see there's that good layer of fat. I love that this place doesn't use Sriracha, but uses chin Su hot sauce! It's a great place to try

My coworker got me a tofu spring roll from CUON and it's very delicious. I'm super impressed by the peanut sauce. Tastes similar to Thai curry. The tofu was seasoned and marinated well with lots of fresh vegetables. Very filling.

What a great find in downtown Portland for a quick and easy lunch!Cuon is only open on weekdays primarily for lunch (their hours are 11-5), and they serve a variety of homey Vietnamese fare including spring rolls, banh mi sandwiches, and pho. You order at the counter, and then they bring the food to your table. We tried 3 of their spring rolls (which are quite reasonably priced since they're decent in size) -- grilled lemongrass chicken, grilled lemongrass pork, and grilled meatballs. They offer several different dipping sauces to go along with the spring rolls, and we had both peanut sauce and fish sauce. All 3 rolls were tasty and generously filled with meat, and they were very well wrapped so nothing came apart.

I went for the vermicelli bowl with crispy pork belly and tofu. Both were delicious--the pork belly was super crispy, and the tofu was perfectly seasoned. Every vermicelli bowl comes with an egg roll, which added a nice crunchy touch. The Thai green tea was a pleasant surprise. It had a lovely floral flavor that set it apart from the usual Thai tea. Definitely worth trying!Ordering is simple: you place your order at the counter, pay, and then find a seat. The staff were friendly and efficient, and my food arrived quickly. The place was bigger than I expected, with plenty of seating and a clean, inviting vibe. It's a great spot for a casual meal with friends or a quick bite on your own.Being in downtown, street parking can be a bit tricky to find, so give yourself a little extra time if you're driving. They offer delicious food, quick service, and a cozy atmosphere. The Thai green tea is a must-try! Just be prepared for a bit of a parking hunt.
