Having never visited New York or spent much time on the East Coast, the chopped cheese has always been something they do that I have been somewhat fascinated with. Well, I finally got to try one and it did not disappoint.Basically a chopped cheese is ground beef cooked on a flat top and then they add cheese, onions, peppers, and whatever else and toss it in a roll. Kinda like a Philly Cheesesteak, but quite possibly better than any Cheesesteak I've ever had. The tomato soup was good as well. Lots of layers of flavor and dimension and rather different than most tomato soups. This place is great, so get to it before it takes an hour to get a sandwich.

I picked this from the yelp reviews and was not let down. A cool set up of a handful of food trucks that are professional and appealing. Parking is a little tight, but that didn't bother me. I decided on chopped cheese for my first time visit and ordered the Ruben sandwich with fries! It was so totally delicious. The bread was perfectly cooked and the corn beef was amazing. That's the way a Ruben should taste. The sandwich was packed of corn beef and in no way did they skimp on ingredients. A delicious tang with the delicious sauerkraut. And the bread was fresh and toasted perfectly. What it made the trip perfect wasn't just the food, but the owner was extremely inviting and took the time to make conversation. In fact, I went in the next day and ordered the same thing because it was so delicious. While I was sitting down waiting for my order on the first day, I grabbed a beer next-door and sat down waiting for a very short time for my sandwich to be ready for take out. Forgot to mention, the fries were cooked perfectly and they gave a huge amount that I ate throughout the next couple of hours working. If you're looking to take a chance on food trucks, give these professionals an opportunity to make your day!! The photo doesn't do the sandwich any justice. I had them serve it to me without any of their normal presentation and wrapping that they had done the prior day so well. I was taking it to my car to eat without judgment, lol! Yum Trust me, the sandwich is thick and literally fed me for two days and I'm a big guy. I'll take a more detail photo the next time I show up. The owner is very approachable and genuine. She takes great pride in making sure the food met my expectations and loved my feedback.

They had me at meow!I was lured by the delicious photos and good reviews, but I knew these were my kind of people when I rang that bell.I've never had a chopped cheese before. I'm deeply sorry I've been missing out all of these years. My guy & I got a chopped cheese with no lettuce (because I'm a strictly no salad on my burgers kinda girl. It doesn't belong, I cannot be convinced otherwise) on a hero and an east Philly, so we could have the best of both worlds, because that's how we roll and frankly how any pair dining together should do. And a side of fries. That chopped cheese was phenomenal. My initial thought was to hold the red wine vinny, not because I don't like the flavor profile, but because I didn't want it to contribute an unnecessarily soggy bun. It didn't. I took one bite and didn't, couldn't, put it down. That shit was good. Like real good. It was all over my cheeks, running down my forearms...bits of cheesey beefy goodness spilling out everywhere. (This is where the fries come in handy)The East coast Philly was also delish; in our opinion, the meat could've use more salt, but I loved all the cheese and the hero held up perfectly. I never knew it was the west coast that messed up the Philly with their peppers & fungus, but I'm pleased to not have to mod this one, it's done just right: ribeye & onion with all the cheesus. The fries were fresh and crisp with a sauce I could've used another several sides of. I didn't expect them to be Cajun reasoned, not sure if we glazed over that description. The only disappointment was not having received any of that delicious potato salad everyone is talking about in their reviews. I'll try not to take this personally and hope for some on our next visit. We live in the burbs; Chopped Cheese PDX isn't in our neck of the woods or on the way to anywhere, but we will absolutely travel for delicious eats & will visit again soon.

As an east coaster, I think this is the best chopped cheese I've had in Portland! My partner and I split the sub and fries and it was more than enough.

First time having a chopped cheese and now I'm sad that I can't get this back home! Everything about this sandwich was perfect. Although it was stuffed to the brim with ingredients, the bread held up really well and stayed fluffy. The filling was the perfect balance of cheese, ground meat, and vegetables. The meat was cooked perfectly and stayed juicy and tender. Each bite was an umami explosion in my mouth and it left me wanting to try everything on their menu. The owners of this cart were so kind and friendly as well! They noticed we were waiting for their cart to open and tried to speed up opening for us. There's also a shaded tent right next to the pick up station where you can enjoy your food. I highly recommend eating it fresh!

Delicious food and super friendlyservice! I especially loved the French Dip with the Guinness glaze. Meat was tender and tasty and the Dos Hermanos bun soaked up the glaze and the au jus perfectly. Love that they offer East and West Coast style Philly Cheesesteak, and I have been missing a good Philly Cheesesteak in inner E Portland since West Coast Phillys closed. Will definitely be back and bring some friends.

I want to complain. I really do. But pretty much like every other reviewer I was filled up, satisfied and happy. There's enough to choose from for beef eaters, other eaters, and veggie eaters. Not sure about vegans. I do honestly believe that most people will get a nice sampling of food from our east coast and it will leave them coming back for more!

I have been searching for a place that does a chopped cheese in town and finally found one. This food cart is located in a food cart pod off Ne 28th and Glisan. They do have a few other items besides the chopped cheese that included French dip, cheesesteak sandwiches, and reuben. We got the chopped cheese and a West Coast Philly cheesesteak. The chopped cheese was wonderful and made just the way you would want it to be. It's definitely great, however I fell in love with the West Coast Philly. Something about all the combination and the cheese whiz just made it the perfect Philly. I can't wait to come back and try a couple of the other items next time.
