We love the food here. The owners and family are So Awesome. Friendly owners. Always so clean to. The food is Amazing and delicious. I feel silly licking my fingers instead of a napkin . There's just something about their sauces. Omg and the shrimp, Muy Deliciosos. I need to go in soon, I really enjoy the family and they make me feel right at home with them.

We just pulled in the parking lot at 6 PM on a Tuesday and it's closed... Kind of think it might be permanently closed. Tried calling and no answer.

3.75 Stars Car shopping just off Division/122nd and hunger struck. Portion size is Very Large so will surely fill the gap! Good flavors could definitely taste the Black Beans though not many in sight, and not overly sweet either, a good thing, or too spicy so be sure to ask for more to taste and they have Chile Crisp too! Server was unsure when we asked for it instead they had Chile Oil he said; alas, one and same here ;)Kung Pao had a floured coating and fried lightly then cooked in sauce so still a tender bite but an unusual preparation that is not our preference and just a few peanuts where we like plenty. Hunan Chicken was soft and tender but several veggies seemed a little tired & wrinkly on edges and off-cuts like tops of celery served and little over, could of come off the heat a minute earlier, but overall satisfying. We want to try the House Chow Fun next. Very sparse interior with worn carpet, kinda off-putting, we almost did a uwie but glad to have tried them. You need a key to use either restroom, fairly clean and neat btw, and there's a Banquet Room on same side and a Video Poker? Rm to the right...faint Vegas like slot chirps and music in background. Prices are $4-6 cheaper than 82nd spots and portions 1.5-2x larger. Saw a pile of noodles on another table and he'd been eating a minute too lol. Assume owner cruised by us a couple times, said hi, and finally asked how everything was which was nice. Lots of take out orders so turnover in produce should be good-to-better. Get over the decor, veg cuts and bring an empty belly or take out and you should be pleased to put China Star on your radar.

Star is correct. The food, the vibe, the staff, all of this went together to make some magic happen. My tastebuds felt like they are still sitting in that booth. I haven't had anything as good since leaving there. Me and my boyfriend (same sex couple) loved the food and felt welcomed

Portland isn't known for its Chinese food and it's taken me 10 years since I moved to find a 5 star delicious menu. I prefer my favorite Cashew Chicken as well as Szechwan Beef and a side of fried rice. Everything was delicious! It's worth the drive. Order over the phone and the prices aren't as high as 3rd party platforms (these platforms take 20-30% cut AND the employees don't get the tip the driver does). So call in, tip them well and thank the stars we finally found a 5 star Chinese restaurant.

we ordered dinner via Uber Eaat on Saturday. while eating our leftovers on Sunday, we found a large piece of broken plastic in our hot and sour soup. we have reached out to both Uber Eats and the restaurant and both have failed to do anything. China Star read my message with a photo on messenger (the only way to contact them that not via the phone) and has yet to respond. Uber Eats claims because the photo is not in the actual food, there is nothing they can do. Do not eat here. It is not safe. land a health risk for all.

Portions are insane, service is very good, quality is great, we do to go so the esthetic and environment isn't a big deal. It doesn't look great on the outside to be very honest. However it will well work the visit. We have only lived here a few weeks and already been here multiple times. Crab Rangoon is AMAZING and I don't even like crab. Give this place a shot and you won't be disappointed.

Super kind staff. Great portions, good food. I would recommend this place for Chinese takeout. We have been ordering from them for several years and they do not disappoint. We always leave feeling stuffed, or we do takeout and we are stuffed at home! There are not that many really good Chinese food places like this so I would give it a try.

Food was great, tremendous amount and was very fast. Unfortunately the neighborhood has gone downhill but please visit this restaurant and see for yourself how great it is.
