Cha Ya Kitchen

Truly a hidden gem in Portland. I've been here countless times in the past year. It is honestly kind of out of the way for me but so worth the drive. I always get the steak & rice bowl or the spicy basil rice bowl - it is so comforting and hits the spot every time. Each portion lasts me two meals. My favorite food cart by far!

Quick food, large portions! Would eat here again. This food truck pod has a nice shaded area to sit down and eat.

Woweeee, I was craving bubble tea after work and searched Yelp for something nearby. I am SO glad i gave this place a try. My honeydew bubble tea with boba was BOMB. I also got the pad Thai burrito out of sheer curiosity and was I delightfully surprised... not only is it an amazing portion for $10.50 but it is so yummy and comes with two peanut sauces that changed the game. Don't pass this place by! The person I talked with was so nice, I assume she owned the place as she told me her husband is usually there with her, but either way she was great and had my food and drink ready FAST. I will be back :-)

Food truck that I went too was closed, so saw this food truck open. The chefs or the owner was very friendly and kind. Service that is provided by this place is amazing. No word for the food it's delicious.

Really great food! We ordered pork belly fries and Pad woon sen besides two boba. Awesome portion and really flavorful! The pork belly is deep fried but soft and juicy. The noodle, I'm so glad that I let the owner know that I would like to do as spicy as possible, it's really a treat!! Not overpowering its flavors but made them all explode in the mouth. Amazing! As for the boba teas, they're about average. Last but not least, the owner is really sweet and nice!

Earlier today, my Darling Husband (we've been married for 14 + years) and myself ordered take out at this Cha Ya Kitchen in Southeast Portland. I ordered the Spicy Basil Rice Bowl (it was Mild, which is what I ordered), and my Husband ordered the Broccoli Beef (he asked for Spicy). The portions are larger... and we have leftovers. We didn't order any cans or bottles of beverages. Although, I might pick up a can of Diet Coke during one of my future visits... because... it's too Warm in the Summertime now. If you've ever tasted Bimimbap (not the same taste.. because it's a different Asian food, you see) you'll probably like the flavors of the rice bowls at Cha Ya Kitchen. The first time I ordered the Southeast Asian Steak and Rice Bowl with a Diet Coke can. It was also tasty and made just right. There is Bubble Tea made here as well. And, you can order an Iced Milk Tea... if you prefer. The Milk Tea tastes like British Tea... when it's made with lots of Whole Milk or Creamer, and Sugar. I drank sips of my mother's tea after she let them go cold when I was growing up. She was born British, although she passed her Naturalization Test in the mid 1990s. She called it her "Cuppa." And, yes... my mother still speaks with a slight English accent. If you must know she sounds similar to the Queen. I've also ordered a "less sweet Milk tea " from Cha Ya Kitchen. I liked it. I have ordered this, a less sweet Milk Tea, at other cafes and restaurants before... I don't drink the whole thing if it's the larger size. We will be back soon. Thank you for making such taaasty foods.

Great food. I ordered the Southeast Asian steak and rice. It is delicious and flavorful . Highly recommended go there to eat. Large portion too.

The egg in my steak and rice bowl was perfectly cooked. Whoever is on the grill today did an amazing job on the egg, it was still just barely runny in the middle so it was perfect to eat with a fork. I havent had a bad lunch here yet!

The food is always hot, ready, and amazing. I have pretty much only gotten the steak and rice bowl, but it's so good i have to come back and get it every time. wonderful service, and the two who own the business are wonderful to talk to as well!

Extremely fast service, delicious food, and I had enough leftover to take home! This food truck was affordable and I'd definitely come again.
