Holy shit! This place is bomb! I had Sloane walking me through the menu and she nailed it! The Steam Slider was scary for someone who has experienced White Castle but DAMN! That was amazing! The scallop crudo she recommended was insane. The REAL DEAL was the foie gras dumplings that Sloane was adamant about and she WAS NOT WRONG! AMAZING! It had to be one of the 10 best things I've ever eaten! Thank you Canard! Thank you Sloane!

We had a lovely meal at Canard. The foie gras dumplings= chefs kiss. I do not love goat cheeses much but the goat Gouda was perfect in the roasted pear salad. The duck stack was a good combo of salty, sweet, and savory flavors. Great service too! I thought this place was good, but not great. Heartless Rita - amazing mocktailRoasted Pear Salad - pretty solid appetizerFoie Gras Dumplings - again I thought they were good but not out of this world like so many people saidAlbacore Au Poivre - unique dish I had never had before but enjoyedI read so many amazing reviews about this place so maybe it was just overhyped to me.I thought the service was fantastic though, they seated us quickly when we came early for a reservation, had a birthday note for me upon being seated, and candle for me with my dessert.

Foie gras dumplings, oh my sweet little baby Jesus! Those are easily one of the best bites I have ever eaten. Extraordinarily good. Steam burgers, creamed corn (I know but lord it's tasty), Steak frites, and a pluot/cucumber salad. We sat at the chefs counter and it was so fun seeing and then learning a bit from the chefs how things were made. Exceptional service, food and atmosphere.

Canard is my all-time favorite restaurant! My go-to dishes are the steamed buns, truffle fries, oysters, sprinkle pancakes, and the best soft serve ice cream to top it all off. Their menu changes frequently, adding a fun and unique twist to each visit. Recently, we tried the beef tongue quesadilla and tuna tartare, both of which were outstanding. While it can get busy, we usually find a spot at the bar top with an open kitchen layout, where we can watch our food being prepared--a detail I particularly enjoy!

Walking into the place, you feel like you've stumbled into a secret spot everyone wants to be at. You really should go early though, cause it's bustling. The ambiance is super cozy and inviting, feels upscale but not pretentious.Starting off, the deviled eggs were a pleasant surprise, especially with those salmon eggs on top. Can't go wrong with those. The wontons, now those were a treat. That dough... it's something you just want to savor. The French onion quesadilla was alright, but probably wouldn't get it again. Foie gras toast was a nice change of pace. Pretty solid for those who like Foie gras. The foie gras pancake though, wow, that's the showstopper. Hands down, BEST thing on the menu. Highly recommend getting this! The service is also top notch, you feel like they're genuinely glad you're there!

Such a fantastic experience at Canard this past week. You must make a reservation if you want to visit Canard as there is limited seating but after your experience you won't be disappointed. When making a reservation, it did require me to put down my credit card and if we did not uphold our reservation they would have charged me $25 per person on the reservation. We were seated right away when we arrived for our reservation. We had a party of four and had no idea what to order or how much food we would need. Our waitress told us not to worry and to make a list of the food we were interested in and she would tell us if it was too much or if we needed to order more. We ended up ordering the baguette that comes with homemade butter, and flake salt. It was pretty amazing and was split by all four of us. The next portion was split by three people and it was the Roasted Carrots that came with cherry bbq, macadamia nut, tahini. It was an interesting combination but it was very good. The next portion was split by just two of us and it was the Burrata that comes with apricot, pistachio, flatbread. It was pretty amazing and probably my favorite. The fourth portion that came out was split by two people and it was Foie Gras Dumplings that came with spring onion, kumquat, scallion. I didn't personally have this portion but heard it was definitely something to try. We thought we would end the night with Garlic Fries with chermoula ketchup, asiago but ended up getting some Steam Burgers as well. All the food was amazing and we were for sure filled up. I highly recommend trying this restaurant and be ready to try as much as you can. We didn't even spend that much money at the end with how much we split.

Wowza! Such a great experience at Canard in OC. Definitely a fantastic reason for portlanders to come more south! I had so much fun eating here and I feel like the chef is brilliant! Each item has a little unique touch that just WORKS. OEUFS EN MAYONNAISE-Creamy, great differing consistency, and an all around fun bite. The maple offers an unexpected sweetness which compliments the richness of the mayo and egg. The roe isn't very present in a textural way, but add to the overall flavor in my opinion. The little chives surprisingly add a lot of flavor (we love chives!). The little tiny bacon bits are perfect consistency! But for my overly salty taste buds, I think just a scosh bit of seasoning salt at the end would send this over the edge. Overall, a very fun try! SUNRISE STEAMIEThe sear on the sausage patty gives a great crunch against the soft bun and cheesy goodness. Happy they went with American cheese, cause that's always the winner. The carmelized onions were so good and added a welcomed sweetness. I feel like the sausage tastes like it was made in house and had great spice! Wish it was just a scosh bigger. THE STEAMIEGood. But felt like it was a little small and the meat inside was reallyyyyy small. Just lots of bun which was still good cause it's a Hawaiian roll. But would probably skip this next time. Esp for the price. GARLIC FRIESWorth it! Crispy, thin, seasoned, cheesy in some bites, and piping hot. Would get every time. Potatoes are my fave food but these fries are good. The ketchup is a star! Tastes like a splash of worschersire and def Tabasco was added. But a perfect merriment. Not overkill at all. Really love this ketchup! Haha. I appreciate making a fry side unique! MAC AND CHEESE Next level creamy. Definitely a shareable portion. Especially because you can only have a couple bites because it's so rich. I am a sucker for onion straws/fried onions and was so excited it was on top. However, didn't add much to the dish to be honest! I took this home and they dated the box for me. That was such a great/thoughtful touch! FRIED TROUT SANDWICH Fun fun fun. Love the presentation. The trout was cooked well, was crispy and a big portion. I was missing something, perhaps may ask for some lemon? Happy I tried it, idk if I would get it again. APPLE COBBLER SUNDAE This was sooooooooooo good. The vanilla ice cream here is perfect in my eyes. The entire dessert wasn't too sweet but also indulgent. The bottom was a butter cake (has my name written all over it), oat streusel, and a cider carmel. This Carmel was insane by itself. Tasted exactly like if Starbucks made their hot apple cider into a Carmel. Next level. I cannot wait to try more desserts. Cute bar esthetic and outdoor patio!

Canard was a Portland restaurant that was highly recommended online, so I decided to give it a try since I was in the area. The inside is well-decorated, and although it was busy I was able to snag a seat at the bar pretty soon after I arrived. The service was friendly, and I was able to be helped quickly whenever I needed it. For the food, I decided to get the duck stack, the oeufs in mayonnaise, as well as the Heartless Rita. The oeufs in mayonnaise were good, as the eggs were cooked well and I liked the seasoning that they put on top of it. The Heartless Rita wasn't bad, not the best non-alcoholic cocktail I've had but it was worth trying out. The duck stack however, was by far my favorite and it is definitely a unique dish. The duck was delicious, and combined with the pancakes it was a very filling and hearty meal. I definitely recommend sharing this, as it is a lot of food. Highly recommend coming here to try out their main, well-known dishes!

Came here on a Monday evening for a birthday celebration and it is packed! We ordered the green salad, foie gras dumplings and the duck frites. The soup base of the dumpling is very flavorful while the dumpling has layers and layers of different texture and flavor. The duck frites took a while to arrive but it was worth it! The meat basically melts in your mouth and the mushroom base compliments each other so well.
