"This little spot is off the hook! Super friendly staff, beyond amazing food. I tried the pork 'Dilla and the Baja fish taco. The dilla is more of an empanada experience but FULL of fantastic fresh local ingredients. The fish taco hit ALL of the classic crunchy cabbage, sweet fruity pico, and creamy aspects that I love about fish tacos. My partner had the chicken salad Fresca. They took the time to crisp up the shedded chicken... next level stuff that shows they care and take pride in providing excellent food at a very reasonable price! In a town where there's Mexican restaurants on every other street, Taco Peddler has done an amazing job of taking the path less traveled! Well worth my 30 min drive from deep SW. please give them a try, tell me I'm wrong about how great this place is!"
"Pretty solid tacos! Located at 'the garage' pod for now but moving soon!Super friendly staff. They recommended the tacos - 2 bucks for street tacos w the usual selection, 5 bucks for fish or shrimp which are a little bigger. Got the 10 dollar taco plate - 3 tacos and rice and beans. Plus a shrimp and fish. Wanted to get to 20 bucks so I could charge it. Food was great. Carnitas and bbq pork were on point. Shrimp was awesome. Fish meh Would come again"
"As someone who loves meat, I am very critical of vegan food bc yes I try to eat less meat sometimes but it's hard bc it also has to taste good yanno, I cant live a life with no flavor. This place hits the mark - they have either the best or 2nd best vegan tacos I've tried in pdx so far. Very creative options compared the the veggie option at most taco trucks which is just sautéed veggies. I've tried about 5 or 6 of the tacos and enjoyed them all. My favorites are the Tinga Taco, Rajas con crema & Taco Campana which is their take on a classic Taco Bell taco. If I had to choose a least favorite it would probably be their mole verde, it was just a bit mushy in texture. It's too bad vegan tacos are almost always more expensive than meat tacos or I would definitely eat them more."
"You know normally I am a creature of habit, but I often like to use deals and promotions to scratch my legs a little and try and find something new. I normally wouldn't wander into. I'm more of a taco stand verse Mexican restaurant person growing up where I grew up in Southern California. It's just what I was used to was quick and cheap food rather than the big warm plate Mexican restaurant style. Here was very much so stereotypical Mexican restaurant, huge portions, tons of cheese and a massively huge menu.We probably should've just gotten one item and split it, but we ended up bringing home an incredible amount of food even though I ate till I was stuffed. The super nachos were very good. We went with the Pastor store of course the best meat. Chips when they bring them to the table come out warm so we knew the nachos were gonna be good. We split the three item combo anytime I can try a Chile Relleno I do. Sometimes you regret it cause it's a little bit greasy and a little bit off, but this one was absolutely "perfectly with just the most insane amount of cheese in there as you can see by this 4 foot cheese pull in the photo. Of course I'm a huge green sauce fan so we went with an enchilada to go along with that with the chili Verde and have the chili Verde sauce poured all over everything. Our last item was a tostada because why not have all of your carbs deep-fried as well. I mean, if there was an option to deep fry the enchilada, we probably would've done as well.Service here was absolutely amazing. It's a really good spot and it rivals La Carreta which says a lot! In both portion and quality. Honestly, unless you want a ton of leftovers and a crazy amount of stuff, a three item combo will easily feed to normal people."
"My first trip here and I was very impressed and can't wait to return to try more items. I tried the Al Pastor tacos and it was instantly my favorite menu choice, the spices were nice and pork had a nice char and sweetness. It was at times a little fatty but that's to be expected. I also tried the Chile Verde, this was good, second to a place on NE 42nd I go to often for this dish specifically.I also had Ceviche, which was simple, fresh and very satisfying. All & All, I am a fan and will be back to try the breakfast burritos and other items for sure. The only side eye, if you will, was the salsas .. I believe they are not home made but brand named (red sauce tasted like valentina brand) which I happened to like, so no biggy ."
"Yep, I'm big into this place.A boy I know moved just down the street, and this become his go-to neighborhood watering hole. I'm happy that he's introduced me.Lots of tequila! They have a good margarita list, though I typically stick with their most typical one, the Waypostarita. It's made with an orange-peppercorn tequila and some sort of orange liqueur. Pretty dang tasty. The other varieties aren't really my cup of tea, but it's good to offer options, right? Oh, and on Mondays margaritas are $6 instead of $9! Taco Tuesday is in full effect, and both the tinga chicken and the carnitas are delicious. I'm not into tempeh, but if you like it, I bet theirs is good. $2.50 on Tuesdays, which is a buck off. There's typically some kind of programming and hanging out at the bar can get kind of loud. But open mic night on Mondays has been entertaining! The bartenders are all really friendly. Good staff here, for sure. The outside area is cute, with a funny little walking path. I'll have to spend more time here in the summer to properly understand it, but I like it! I like The Waypost, I'll most certainly return."
"Really excited for B PDX to open a new location in Happy Valley. I've been a huge fan of theirs ever since they first opened on SE Division a few years back. I wanna even say I drove over 20 mins to that location several times in their first month of service before they got crazy popular. Shortly lines became 30-75 mins in rain or shine back then. The new location has ample parking and only 2 picnic tables. Food was solid as always. I love birria tacos so much...and while other spots might have better consume or better birria, I feel like Birrieria PDX is the best in terms of total package. I'm lactose intolerant but I always make it a point to get one of their cheese tacos (queso taco, spider, keto, mulitas, etc). In fact once you add cheese to the birria I think they are the best in town hands down. Their cheese variations are far superior to others I've had in town and I think I've gone to maybe 6 other places for birria. It was the first time I've had the pastor here and it was good. Their asada was just fine for me but I think I'll be continuing to going to a different truck nearby when I have the asada craving. I'm so glad they are so close, and I'll be a regular here. This might not be a good thing for my waistline however."
"My shoe repair man recommended this place. Small mall space (similar to Seoul Kitchen in this same mall--and highly recommend) brightened with some wall paintings. Very very friendly and informative guy working here. Melba liked her pastor taco a lot, I had the queso birria tacos--hot, messy, greasy, oozey--wonderful. Prices maybe a little up. They make their own tacos. Want to go back for a machete (the edible kind.)"

My son insisted I try the birria tacos. Well...it was actually the margaritas that made my ears perk up.He was right! The birria tacos with the dipped tortilla, gooey cheese oozing out, flavorful braised beef & grilled on a flat top. Yeah. It's REALLY good. The dipping broth was good too. Some places I've had previous had a thin film of oil on top. Which felt too greasy. This one did not. Pretty flavorful. Not too much clove. Just right.I had the traditional margarita with Tajin rim. My son had the strawberry margarita with Tajin rim. Both were VERY good iced (not frozen) margaritas. Located in an alleyway (?) off an old railroad track. There's also a cute bar next door. Cute casual place to grab a bite. Outdoor covered patio as well since there are 8(?) tables inside.

I stopped in yesterday around noon for a quick lunch. ordered a couple of spicy chorizo street tacos and Jarritos soda. The restaurant wasn't too busy, I was served relatively quickly. Ambience in the restaurant is fine for what it is, a very small storefront and the service person was very pleasant.Had to knock down a couple of stars because the chorizo, while flavorful, was very hard. like old chorizo. Other than that, the Mexican cheese and the tortillas were very nice. I think I'm going to try and come back here one more time and see if maybe it was just a fluke but this one particular dining experience was only so so.

We just chanced upon this truck while we were in the area. And it was a pleasant surprise. Plenty of parking in that square. There's a nice covered area where you can order and it had a nice detailed menu there. The guy taking our order answered our questions really nicely. There is some secluded seating nearby too. The tacos were delicious, even the veggie ones. Will definitely come here more often!

I went to Mexico near Mexico City when I was 18 for two weeks and it was like my second home. I was an omnivore and had real Mexican street tacos. As a result of this authentic experience while traveling I ended up with Montezuma's revenge aka loose motions.Fast forward to 2023 I am in the NE of PDX going to Chilango PDX for some vegan tacos. The owner is from Mexico City making authentic vegan street tacos from where he is from. My server was from Brazil and was very friendly.Upon his suggestion I went with the following four tacos:ChicharronSuaderoTaco CampanaTingaTwo were jack fruit based, one was tofu based and the last was my server's favorite aka impossible and beyond meat combination.I am not too keen on impossible and beyond meat yet still found all the tacos tasty and flavorful albeit a bit heavy. It was about $15 USD for everything.I would suggest having a more healthy option on the menu like a plant based vegetable dish or two.I have been to three all vegan taco places on Turtle Island aka the US including:The one in Austin aka Nom Taco I believe (my favorite) aka a food truckChilango PDX in Portland a second favoriteOne in Sacramento which had a nice potato side dish yet tacos could have been betterFour stars.

If you're looking for a cozy and well balanced Mexican restaurant, Ixtapa if your good option. What Ixtapa does mean you might ask. Well, let me tell a bit about it.....Ixtapa is a Pacific Coast beach resort in the Mexican state of Guerrero. Curving El Palmar Beach is lined with high-rise hotels, bars and restaurants. Fishing boats leave from Ixtapa Marina, adjacent to a golf course. The granite rocks of Los Morros de Potosí are a popular dive site, while the Delfiniti dolphinarium offers the chance to swim with dolphins. The laid-back resort city of Zihuatanejo lies just southeast. As other Mexican restaurants at times are named after a well known place in the Mexican riviera and/or a gorgeous city or town, Ixtapa is your place to visit one day. For know, if you come to this joint you'll be pleased with the quality and good blend of flavors. I was in the mood for tacos and was completely satisfied. In this particular ones I order the esquite on the side (esquites are a popular Mexican snack made from corn mixed with creamy mayonesa (mayonnaise), freshly crumbled cotija cheese or queso fresco, lime juice, and chili powder. It's commonly sold by street vendors in Mexico and is served in a large cup with a spoon to mix all the delicious ingredients together!).Esquites are a culinary delight that most Mexicans enjoy, it's easy to find them in any city in the country and there are many varieties, although the essence is the same. The word Esquites comes from the Náhuatl word Ízquitl, from Icehqui "to toast on a griddle".Enjoy!

Another great visit. This time, of course got the same Albondigas (meatball veggie soup) and a chicken tamale, and handmade corn tortillas, no extra charge! And looks like they've expanded the outdoor dining area. nice!

"My buddy and I had been planning a late night taco run for weeks and when our first choice closed at 10pm we decided to give Birrieria Carlos a try and we sure were glad we did! We talked about how this will become our new favorite Birrieria taco place in the greater Portland area.I opted for three Birrieria tacos with cheese and a pina drink while my buddy ordered two original tacos and their burrito. We both got sides of their consume. The food was full of flavor and the hot sauce they provided a great kick (we asked for their spicy hot sauce). Their drinks were on point and complimented everything well. They had a small covered eating area with a couple bench tables which was great so we didn't have to eat it all in the car. We have already talked about heading back out there in a couple weeks and I know I'm definitely looking forward to it. I hope if you're in the area you stop by and given them a try!"
"Finally, a taco restaurant Angelino like me approves! Their birria and consume were oily, dripping fantastic. Highly recommend their fiery red sauce that will blow a roof through your mouth. Al pastor only on Friday and Saturday and will definitely be back for that"
"Just tried out tonight and we are so happy. A fun place with really good fajitas along with other good stuff. Walk up and order, get your number and some indoor seating and a lot of protected patio seating. So first very helpful owner Leticia helped me figure out the best margarita and offered me the happy hour prices with 2 minutes to spare. We ordered the chips but I wanted the Guava margarita and it wasn't on the happy hour. It didn't matter I loved the margarita, could taste the alcohol but it was smooth and the guava flavor was excellent. As I mentioned I got the fajitas and they were very flavorful with just a hint of heat which was perfect for me. Comes with four corn tortillas which held together well and were good quality. I did order a side of white cheese and it was more than I needed so I may ask for less next time as $2.50 was a bit more than I was expecting but $18 for fajitas is reasonable and I was stuffed!Husband got a burrito on a whole wheat tortilla and held the rice so nice they have those options. He loved it and also said very flavorful. It was the one with green sauce and cheese but would have liked a bit more guacamole and sour cream as guac was so good. Also hard to find burritos in Portland. Leticia also came over to check on us and introduce herself and she is from Mexico City. Super friendly and helpful. Please check this place out you won't be disappointed."

"TV's...TV's everywhere! You aren't going to miss any games, even if you sit outside. The waitstaff was super nice and had some good drink recommendations. I had the Satellite burger with rosemary garlic fries and man were they good. The burger was juicy and actually had some flavor."
"Great tacos, I like the pastor a lot. It's not the juiciest I've had but it's never too fatty or gristly and we'll seasoned. They've been making a lot of upgrades, improving their truck and seating area for customers which means their prices have had to go up (3.50 per taco, which seems almost standard now at many places). They do Taco Tuesday tho where you can still get them for 2.50! They've also expanded their menu a lot with things like tortas, quesadillas, and Sinaloan tacos (w/ melted cheese and pepper). Great vegetarian options too, you can mix n match to create your own veggie tacos from their list of ingredients. They've got a bunch of tasty house sauces and the ladies are always nice."
"Tacos were authentic and tasty, my favorite was the carne asada. No frills food truck. We went right when they opened and service was quick and easy. My wife got the breakfast burrito and it's a lot of food!Nice picnic tables outside, we got some sun so that helped a lot!"

"4.5 Jamaican pork 4 Pork3.2 Steak3.1 ChickenReally loved trying these street tacos out! Favorite was definitely the Jamaican pork, as it was sweet and spicy (with the salsa!) and pork by itself was a little spicy. So good- definitely recommend-"
"The food here is cheap and delicious. I am from San Diego and this place remind me of the food that I use to get there. Just like all Mexican food. It doesn't sit well with my tummy. We order take out and the service was fast. It's a food cart but this place put a lot of sit down place to shame. Give it a try if your in the area."
"Their street tacos are only a buck-fitty! Are there any Portland joints that still offer such a deal? Simply composed of seasoned meat/tofu, onions and cilantro, don't expect a fancy meal/presentation, but they're tasty and filling.Pre-COVID days they had free self-serve toppings including 4 different salsas and pickled carrots, jalapeños and onions; now the salsas are in small to-go cups when requested and the pickled veggies are gone. Hopefully they will bring them back when it's safe!"
"It just opened a few days prior and my hubby took me on a date here. Was excited to try the icy drops which was delicious but quite chilling when the blustery rain hit *brr*! Also had the adult root beer and want to learn to make this for myself The service was quite impressive from opening the door for those running from the pummeling of the sideways rain, to the table service. Food was amazing and my husband kept saying that it was so good. We started with the SW chicken taquitos, and had the western burger with upgraded garlic fries; all were done perfectly. I honestly think we have a new fave spot we will take our friends too!"
"I'm fond of their carts, but this restaurant is much preferred. Friendly service. The Breakfast Crunch Wrap topped with gooey cheese was yummy and filling."
"Really good pupuseria place. The pupusa was a bean and cheese one, very filling, very good. The typical slaw however was not the one that pupusas typically come with, it was purple in color and had no carrots at all. That was sad. Got a taco plate, Carne Asada. The meat was ok. It was crumbly, was seasoned well but not the best Carne Asada I have had. The beans and rice made up for it however. Very much homemade. The girl who was taking my order had a little bit of am attitude, maybe she was just too hot? That was weird. Overall still a good place to grab tacos and a pupusa."
