"The food here is delicious. I have been here several times and am always impressed. I had the number 7 today and got a very generous plate of very good food. The Kung Pao chicken was delicious. The shrimp was cooked perfectly. The sweet sour chicken actually had some chicken inside the batter. Really good. The outside looks a little sketchy but I come for the good food."
"Great food and all the dishes we ordered tasted amazing. Lot of options for vegan food lovers too. I got Spring Roll, Lemon grass chicken, Grilled veggies and tofu.Good spot to hangout and grab some food with friends."

"Both of my favorite delis have gone away. So when I heard of this place and heard it was endorsed by my friend from the Midwest. I had to try it. I got the hot corned beef. I asked which was better and the lady said corned beef today because it is a fattier cut today. Well, that's darn good advice. The bread was really good but it was too soft for the sandwich. Perhaps toasted or grilled? But delicious rye bread. The meat was very tender and flavorful. Lots of it too. I've been looking for a sandwich like this for a while. Very friendly service. Definitely a spot I'll come back to."
"Its a better as a take-out place than a sit down restaurant . Food is decent , average at best and the prices reasonable . They have a big menu so lots of options to choose from . Fast service but not friendly at all ,in-fact they can border at being rude most of the times and hence I recommend them as a take-out place instead ."
"I've ordered pho several times at Koi Gardens Vietnamese Cuisine, and have always enjoyed my meals. The service is swift and efficient, and I've never had to worry about finding a table. The restaurant has a large seating area which makes the space feel a bit empty. However, this bodes well for quick service. There are several nooks and corners when you can sit to enjoy more privacy. There is plenty of parking in front of the restaurant, but the business is located on a very busy street near the onramp to 1-205. It's a high traffic collision corridor, so do be careful when entering or exiting the parking lot. The pho is always served steaming hot, with noodles offering just the right amount of bite. There's nothing worse than soggy noodles! The herbs are fresh and the portions are more than adequate. The broth isn't as rich and complex as some of the more popular Vietnamese restaurants in Portland, but it has definitely soothed my pho cravings in the past."
"The worse thing about this place was April, happy to say she has moved on to the dump dive bar she worked at part-time. She was so trashy I wouldnot go in there when she worked. The best fish and chips, chefs salad in PDX. Deb, Marci and Tona are great bartenders."
"Stopped in for a juice. Came back my last day for another juice and a sandwich for the airplane ride home. The first time I thought the juice had a little too much ginger so I asked for a little less the second time. Both were great though. How I contained myself not to eat the sandwich until the plane was questionable. I got the chicken salad with grapes and walnuts on a baguette. It was incredible. I would order it again. Next time I would request they cut it in half. Love this place. Will eat here again if I return to Portland."
"Glad this place is back, restaurant seating area is quiet and clean. New owners/management are enthusiastic. Food less oily than before some dishes slightly different. I enjoyed the stir fry veggies and soup."
"Orange chicken Gluten FreeKung Pao ChickenHot Sour SoupAre great choices here. Very delicious. Best Chinese food I have tried in Gresham so far."
"WOW one of the best pho in town. Its a must go if you're craving for some pho FOODWe got an assortment of dishes. The typical "#1 large", pork and chicken Banh Mi. The pho is absolutely fantastic. The soup tasted genuine and they gave a huge portion of meat as well. The only downside is the large looked about the same size as the regular one. The BanhMi is absolutely insane. It came out in a crunchy yet soft baguette and the fillings are grilled to perfection with ample amount of meat as well. SERVICEYou know the food is gonna be fantastic when the service is not the best and everyone seems to be in a rush. THIS PLACE IS THAT. Service is nothing to rave about compared to other restaurants but they get it done!!!ALL IN ALL, fantastic pho spot, highly recommend and it's our favorite place in Portland so far"

We were there Thursday afternoon late. We were the only people in the restaurant so we got terrific service. Sweet and sour chicken, hot and spicy beef, and deep fried shrimp! With two sides of pork fried rice, all came out hot. Everything was delicious and tasty. 3 people $45.00 including tip. Best of all Baskin and Robbins is right next door. See you again soon, your ad on TV peeked our interest.

I used to be a regular at this place many years ago when I used to live in Hillsboro. I still remember the small place that Vivi's was and the amazing smell as soon as we enter the restaurant. I recently happened to visit Hillsboro and both times I ended up going to Vivi's for lunch. I tried their Tofu rice plate recently and it was delicious, no change, nostalgic!

My original review from 2017 that I stand by:Damn. I don't think you will find better or more hearty comfort foods anywhere in downtown Portland than Portland Kettle.Just had my third lunch there & introduced another friend who is their newest fan. In the past, I've tried the beef stroganoff (amazing!) and today I tried the beef barley mushroom soup. Incredible.Twice I've had the chicken salad pocket. Great taste & interesting texture, but the pocket does tend to fall apart before the end. Also, this is the only place I like cornbread & you get a piece with each dish. So damn good!My updated review:If you love pastrami, you HAVE to have theirs! It's the best on the planet! This is the reason I'm sad to no longer work in downtown Portland as they are closed on the weekends. Words have no way of describing how delicious and amazing this sandwich is! Change your life - have a pastrami (or the corned beef!)

I cannot believe I've never left a review for my favorite Chinese restaurant for the past 8 years.*TIP: Call the restaurant directly or order through their website/Beyond Menu. If you live within a 3 mile radius, they will deliver to you for free with a $20 minimum order.*This is just good Chinese food. I've tried new things off the menu over the years and have only been disappointed by the Peking Duck; I just don't think I'm a fan of duck, but the taste was phenomenal.I'm a BIG fan of their Mongolian Beef. It is absolutely perfect: the beef is slightly crispy with the scallions on top a bed of crispy noodles.Other than the Mongolian Beef, I usually get their Scallion Pancakes (simple and DELICIOUS) and Foil Wrapped Chicken (people NEED to know about this menu item). The prices are just right for the portions.I miss Chinese buffets, so I order several of their lunch specials to create my own buffet at home.I've also worked for two different companies and called on August Moon to cater. Everyone was super happy, even the vegetarians.

Outside ~ not much to look at besides the riffraff loitering next door. Posting in front is a must.Inside ~ noticeably clean interior & clean bathrooms. So much so we had to compliment the staff. The response was gratefulness and pride that they make a conscious effort to keep to restaurant fresh and clean.Food is good, prices good, but the reason that obliged the drive out of the way was the koi garden, nothing outside nor an aquarium inside :/

Overall, there is nothing wrong with the place, other than their extreme lack of marketing & waste of great potential. For it's crappy location, it's actually got a good location (hang with me here). It's directly on the Springwater Trail & no other bars/restaurants are located off the trail until you hit Sellwood. It is off 82nd though, down in Felony Flats so you can imagine the "diverse" type of crowd. Example: guy decked out in camo gear calling people "turkeys" as an insult. Inside it is DARK, dank & dingy. They did have a nice bartender. Didn't try the food. Beer selection was better than expected based on atmosphere: 2 local micro taps & then, of course, all the domestics. Here is where is really gets fun: the decor! Left over metallic crap from someone's house last time they redecorated. For real. Remember the late 80s/early 90s dark plush furniture with contrasting swirl designs? Asian-inspired black & gold wall hangings? Sparkle-flecked mirrors? There was actually a labrador-sized golden dear statue in front of the granite fireplace (next to stacked boxes of what I'm hoping contain more fabulous home-decors just waiting to be set out). Their outside patio is where it really fell apart for me: Faded green Rubbermaid chairs along with their stored curbside trashcan & coffee cans for cig butts. Worst part: The roof top is closed, permanently . A bucket lid hangs on a wire hanger strung across the stairs and in faded marker: "do not enter." I asked the bartender what was up with the roof and she replied, "I guess it used to be open a long time ago, but now we only have the main level" (What?! You have got to be kidding me!). Great potential, but it sure would take a lot of work. At the end of the day, it's an uber-dive on south 82nd and I won't be back.

there was no wait although it was pretty packed. You can sit outside on a good day.The food is extremely healthy. Everything was delicious. The prices were comparable to other places. The staff was friendly. I asked 1 million questions and they never got annoyed odd enough. There's a lot of parking in this area so don't let that discourage you from visiting

"Was craving Thai, and saw that they had Pad Tom Yum on their menu, which I've never seen before, so I had to try. I ordered that with a Tamarind Margarita and my cousin got the Pad See Ew with a Pattaya A-Go-Go cocktail. And we shared the Egg Rolls. We were able to get our noodles with pork belly as the protein, which not many Thai restaurants offer. Everything looked delicious, and was also delicious. Cute little place, and friendly service."
"I'm embarrassed to say it took several visits to Thailand to try Tom Yum soup, or anything Tom Yum-related. But when I finally did a few weeks ago, I fell in love.I tried several places in Portland to try a hot and spicy soup like you do in TH. Most places were very tomato soup-like. I was hesitant to try here, but I was really craving a good bowl. My husband picked it up on the way home. It did not disappoint!! He ordered it 4-star spicy, and it was actually spicy! I usually order mine as spicy as you can get it, and it's usually super mild. This was perfect! Make-your-nose-run spicy. It had a ton of chicken and seafood too. It did not lack. My husband ordered Massaman curry and it was excellent. Nice spice for him at 3 stars. And plenty of meat and veggies. We also got sticky rice and peanut sauce. Yum!"
"I decided to try this place just for the heck of it cuz it was right next to my bank. It was okay I feel it was a little high price for what you got but other than that the food wasn't that bad would I go again probably not."
"One nice thing about food pods is that each person can easily wander over to whatever food cart they wish, and get what they really want to eat. So last Sunday while my Son was ordering up a Greek dish, I was waiting for my Pad Thai selection (with chicken and spring roll appetizer) at the Thai Bloom Food Cart. The price was reasonable, the service was friendly and fast, the quantity was "almost stuffed" filling, and my food was delicious. It doesn't get much better than that. Well, it was cold outside! So why not walk a few steps over to the Speakeasy for a beer and an inside seat?"
"I wanted to try a new place for date night and picked a good one. The food was excellent, the service was warm. I made a reservation for the purple room which has about 4 small tables. There is another room that has more tables and a bar. The restaurant is on the second floor of a converted house. I don't think they have an elevator, so you're aware. We got mostly what the waiter recommended. The chicken liver mousse tart was savory and delicate, crust being flaky and good contrast to the vinaigretted frissee. The grilled cauliflower still had crunch and umami. I picked the duck confit which had delicious crispy crust and a slight sweet, salty sauce. My husband had the pork coppa which is a braised pork shoulder over a sauce with delicious huge beans. I thought all the food was outstanding, the presentation was great and flavors well balanced. Ended the night with an almond flour orange cake, not too sweet. I might have skipped that one because the gelee was a little tart and cake a denser than expected. The waiter was great at helping us navigate the menu. I liked all the choices available and can't wait to try more of them. I don't think there is a wrong choice here. Their menu options rotate."
"I can't say enough good things about pho hung, they're the original pho restaurant in Portland. They been opened since 1990 and I'm sure every Asian kid who has grew up in Portland knows this is a staple/OG.We love coming here on rainy days and so glad they were open this Christmas Day! The pho comes out piping hot and QUICK! Everything is so fresh and once you take that first sip it hits the soul. They definitely don't skimp on the meat like other pho restaurants do and the prices are very reasonable. If your adventurous, try the Super Bowl it's a little bit of everything and if your like my husband you can't go wrong with pho tai. Happy pho eating y'all!"
"Was very impressed with the developed flavors in their dishes. Very tasty. Will come back and visit again. Their curries were fantastic. The meats were solid. Very good."
"Milo's city cafe is locally owned and is super delicious. We met the owner and he is a delightful nice man. The omelette was delicious and would could back here for breakfast any day of the week. The jam for my English muffin is homemade just like all the food here. The Jam is a must try.... SUPER DELICIOUS. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Hot sauce homemade...his wife made it along with the jam... AMAZING Service was perfect, fast and efficient. Inside is super clean and super niceHighly recommend"
"Party of three on a Saturday evening. No wait but it did start getting crowded towards the end of our dinner. Did AYCE sushi and you get what you pay for...but I mean that in a good way! Enough of a variety for AYCE sushi and they weren't stingy and service was pretty good. I did not feel like they were trying to rush us at all and were sometimes even joking about how little we ordered a time.In general, I try to avoid conveyor belt sushi when it is slow which was the case here. Overall I would be back for my quick sushi fix."
"Finally stopped in to check this food & beer hall out and was pleasantly surprised. I knew the beer from Zoiglhaus was great, but this Thai food was the reason to return. All three items we had were GREAT. The rolls were filled with great ingredients and not with iceburg lettuce like so many places do, and the wrappers were super chewy, not brittle. The drunken noodles were really great, and the pineapple fried rice was some of the best I've ever had. We eat Thai food a lot, and this place instantly moved in to the top 3 favorite places. It's that good. Will for sure be back."
"We've lived a few blocks from this place for a while and have seen it gone thru many incarnations so we were skeptical when it became a Thai place but I'm so glad we finally got over our skepticism and gave it a shot! The environment inside is cozy yet open with plenty of seating. They have a bar inside which is just delightful. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food came quick enough and was paced well with the drinks and appetizers. We had the egg rolls, the Khao Pad, and the Yellow Curry and were very happy with all of our dishes. It's a pretty standard Thai menu but the Khao Pad was a unique dish to me and I thoroughly loved it! It's a beautiful take on fried rice with big bits of freshly cooked veg. My partner really liked his Yellow Curry. The warm dish and the spice were perfect on a cold evening.Give this place a shot. The outside may not look like much, especially if you've seen it as the former businesses there but it's definitely our choice for Thai from now on!"
"Bottom Line: Best Beef Chow Fun in Clark CountyI got the beef chow fun take out and it was pretty good. As good as any in PDX. Nice wok hei and not too greasy. I took a star off for the cost $16.95 and the interior isn't that inviting for dining in but that's not uncommon for Cantonese joints. The menu has dim sum albeit a little pricey also. I'll work my way through the menu eventually if I can afford to. :-("
"Americanized Chinese food is not something I eat often as I do prefer eating traditional Chinese food. Though occasionally, I'll eat some Americanized Chinese food. I got a chance to try their combos and to my surprise it was good and with no MSG. Kung Pao Chicken has a great amount of chicken, vegetables, peanuts and spice! The combo was a good portion, came with 5 pieces of fried shrimp, 4 crab puffs, good amount of fried rice and almond chicken-chow mein. I was able to substitute egg roll for fried rice! The almond chicken had a nice flavor with the mixture of vegetables. The crab puff and shrimp was crispy and not oily. This is a great family-owned business, they really care about the customers and the food they serve. They are open for pick up, just order via phone & delivery through door dash. They are taking all the precautions they can to ensure the safety and well-being of the customers."
"I have walked by Thai Chili Jam many times. The outside of the building is nondescript. But don't let that deter you from trying the delicious food served here. I have ordered delivery several times and always found the food to be fresh and full of flavor. My favorite items to order are the yellow curry and the Thai basil fried rice. Although every dish I've tried has been tasty and good enough to reorder. I like that they advertise that they are vegetarian friendly. They use no MSG and all dishes are free of Trans fat. Good things to know. Someday I will venture inside the restaurant to dine. Whether you dine in or order food to go, you'll enjoy your meal."
"Such a great place for a snack or a meal! My sis picked up a Vietnamese iced coffee for that afternoon sweet tooth kick and I had to get in on that action. I ended up with some summer rolls too which were a nice big size. Their Bahn mi prices looked great and love the side of pho broth it comes with it. Next time I'm hungry I'm coming here first for Vietnamese cravings"
"Superb. Absolutely superb. A phenomenal experience from the arrival to the departure. Things to know ahead of time:1. Parking can be a little tricky. We found a spot along the street in the neighborhood around the restaurant.2. Reservations are available (I know because they asked when we walked in about 90 minutes before they closed on a Sunday night). Since there are only about 25-30 seats inside, this might be a really good idea. Things to consider during your visit:1. The Sangiovese - available by the glass. Inexpensive and delicious. 2. The zucchini appetizer is very simple, but very tasty. Lightly grilled and based with some oil and spices, it is light and refreshing. But packs more flavor than you expect. 3. Anything pasta. I was thankful that they meals were filling, without being overwhelming in size. You might not leave with leftovers, but you will leave with full AND HAPPY stomachs. This is the type of place you recommend to your friends and rave about for weeks to come."
"Just popped in here before going on a hike and got some snacks for my back pack. The place seems to be a smaller/faster service to this Portland chain Elephant's Delicatessen. There's a small park out front, so there were a ton of people on their lunch break outside enjoying the weather.Loved the look. There's a huge refrigerated section for premade sandwiches and salads. Don't want to go that route, there's a station for warm food in a steam table or unique soups. Also a large pastry/sweets section that are all for the quick grabbing, all just looked so enticing. What I really love above this place is the cute French motif they sport. Tiled floors, French ceiling lamps and a "Frenchy" vintage type mural. And what I think I love more than that...a large buttery cookie, a small stick of salami and a small chunk of Tilamook Cheese for $5.25. If I would of got this at the Ferry Building in SF, it would of cost $24.17?!!*grumbles*"
"No menu as they only offer three items, simple. The Bun Bo Hue was the star of the show, but the chicken pho was right up there with the best in town. Love the type of ice tea they serve.Pleasant service and overall atmosphere. And real Sriracha at every table."
"Standard fare here that's better than other places I've been to in Portland. I got the Al Pastor burrito and they gave me two green and two red sauces to go.The burrito was packed -- but mostly with beans and rice. There was an acceptable amount of meat inside, but not as much as I'd like. The sauces were really good too, so be sure to stock up on those, but again, be warned that if you're looking for a meat intensive meal, this will not be it. As for the meat itself, it was nice and crispy, but it didn't have that sweet pineapple taste that you usually want with Al Pastor. Overall, a good go to place, but not something I'd seek out over other places, to be honest."
"Been looking for a good Peruvian restaurant and found it while I was out in Beaverton. Everything was great from the staff, ambiance, and food. The beans were delicious and hearty, the chicken was cooked perfectly and flavorful, and the plantains were delicious. This was perfect for something healthy, yet hearty. I will definitely be returning. Don't miss out on this great location."
"The Vietnamese scene in Portland is one of the country's most underrated and places like Ha VL are certainly on the forefront of it all. Known for its homey vibe and delicious food, it has become a local favorite and one of the city's most well known noodle soup destinations. The premise is simple: each day they serve 2-3 soups until sold out. One day it's pho ga and bun rieu and another day it's bun moc and hu tieu bo kho. If one does have a preference, just remember the day for your favorite soup and get there at a decent time before they run out. Ultimately it doesn't matter which day one goes, it's all going to be tasty and comforting.I appreciate all of their food. The various regional pho are indeed wonderful and the northern style pho (pho bac) is probably my my top bowl at the moment, followed closely by the hu tieu and bun thang. Their banh canh is very rich broth wise but the mi quang is also quite good. The prices have crept up mightily over the years. The average bowl here is now $16+. But the portions are substantial. The husband and wife team that run place are wonderful people and the rest of the staff provide exemplary service. They aren't open on Monday or Tuesday and the hours end in the late afternoon almost always after lunch. The rotation of daily soups are always subject to change, but whatever they're serving the day I return will be the highlight of my day."
