"They don't make places like this anymore.Sayler's has been around for the better part of the last century (#1) and has been one of the city's go-to steak destinations from the local community. They are also home to one of the largest steak challenges with a 72oz monstrosity. Gimmicks aside, this is one of my favorite places to get a no frills steak and I sincerely hope they manage to stick around for a long time. The vibe is undoubtedly old school and the ambiance has a tinge of vintage, complemented by the scores of older clientele on any given day. It's no small place either, as there is plenty of seating, tables, and even parking spaces. Bathrooms are also clean and the place is generally very inviting.Their selection of meats / steaks is some of the best in Portland. From filet mignon to fatty ribeye to top sirloin and porterhouses. I have really enjoyed ribeyes and prime rib the most, I think most of their steaks deserve a little shine. The steak challenge is with their top sirloin and at 72oz, it's a lot of steak. I attempted it during my birthday meal years ago and it reminded me of a head or a bowling ball just made of beef. While I finished the next size down at 40oz relatively easily, I failed miserably with this one. The rules state that once the steak is served, one can finish the plate within 60 minutes. This also includes the sides, such as the vegetables, fries or baked potato. Once I'm done with the meat sweats and am a little hungry, I'll make it a point to come back. They don't just excel in steak, seafood is absolutely within their forté. The sea scallops and lobster tails are lovely and when paired with steak makes for the perfect kind of surf and turf. What's interesting is that no matter what one orders, every meal comes with a "relish tray" that includes salad, bread, entree, side dishes, and ice cream. Their homemade sour cream is stupidly addicting and should be bottled up.I really enjoy the service here. They've always been extra accommodating to my guests and I and they've been super efficient each time. I appreciate the how collectively friendly they are and they play a big part in my wanting to come back every year. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and my next large plate of steak.__________(#1) Nearly 80 years. That's so impressive."

"One of the star restaurants on the Vancouver river scene. First, the room is one of the most beautiful rooms. Second, the fresh fish is second to none. Can highly recommend the sole, salmon and seafood pasta!"
"Outstanding locally owned establishment specializing in Italian dishes and wood fired pizzas. Service was fantastic !"
"A time honored place that feels fresh and contemporary but trusted and true. We were able to make a reservation online about an hour before we wanted to eat. As soon as we arrived we were greeted and seated. Service was excellent, noise level perfect, it was comfortable and approachable. Everything we ordered was delicious! We had:Cioppino - plentiful and flavorful. Slightly spicy. Monkfish - really delicious, perfectly prepared. Mussels - slightly indulgent with all those fries and chorizo. Gorgeous broth. Generous portion. Even got a complimentary scoop of ice cream for my mom's birthday. Very nice!"
"Needing a bite to eat, we stopped out front of this place to take a quick look at the menu. After skimming it over I found something that I knew I would like and we decided this would be a good place to grab a quick dinner. When we entered we were greeted and asked where we wanted to sit. We didn't really care and let the host show us to a seat. It kind of felt like we were purposefully taken on a long walkthrough of the whole restaurant before shown our seat. Our drink order was taken immediately upon us sitting down and at that point of the day all I wanted was water. It was odd that the host served us our drinks, but it also felt like we were disrupting his day. Honestly, that was the only low point.Once we had time to look over the menu we were greeted by our server and our order was placed. After placing the order we were able to appreciate the seat we were sat at. Maybe that walkthrough was done to make the appreciation so much more. Where we were seated we had a wide view of the street outside without the noise and possibility of weather change. This is a great place to people watch as well. After a bit our food finally showed up and we started to dig in. I went with the Tillamook Cheeseburger. I know, why come to an oyster bar and not partake in the oysters. Well, short answer is I think they are gross and I'm allergic, so no thank you. However, that cheeseburger is a must in my opinion. You get three patties seared on the grill and then they are smothered with Tillamook cheese. The bun is toasted and it is topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, and thousand island dressing. Think Big Mac with an extra patty, a ton more cheese and so much more flavor than you would expect. With this you get the choice of fries, coleslaw, or salad. Of course I went with fries. This was a behemoth to eat, but I managed by cutting it in half and taking my time. It was a filling meal and definitely something I would get again. After we paid and were heading to the door we were stopped once more. I assume that the gentleman that stopped us was the owner or manager of the place. He was pleasant and asked us how our meal was. He also made it a point to encourage us to come back."
"Been looking for a good Peruvian restaurant and found it while I was out in Beaverton. Everything was great from the staff, ambiance, and food. The beans were delicious and hearty, the chicken was cooked perfectly and flavorful, and the plantains were delicious. This was perfect for something healthy, yet hearty. I will definitely be returning. Don't miss out on this great location."
"For a chain/strip mall location/industrial-type restaurant with exposed ceiling pipes, lots of seating and tasty bites, WildFin was a very good spot for lunch after driving my daughter to this area so she can catch up on errands in Beaverton. Wild Fin serves up a nice mix of seafood dishes- and I don't mean 2 options only. Despite their name, these folks also have beef, poultry and pork items. For my kid and I, it was about the seafood since we're both Pescatarian. My daughter went for the 3 for $33 deal with appetizer+main plate+dessert and selected the shrimp+artichoke+scampi-ish with a silky cream sauce to start. That appetizer was love at first bite! She also enjoyed her salmon dish as well and donut dessert with a maple+butter sauce. I mean...for a packaged deal, her bites were wholesome. My Ahi Tuna+mixed green main plate was a lot- so much so, I reserved half of it to eat on the plane the following day heading home. Service from our server Evin was incredible- and I still got to enjoy a Happy Hour cocktail even when we didn't sit at the bar because she'd made special seating accommodations at a regular table instead of high-tops with my daughter in mind since she's recovering from surgery. From a quick lunch meal to a girls or guys hangout- no problem- WildFin has it covered with very nice prices."
"Sho turned out to be a delightful place to meet up with a friend for a refined, delightful lunch. I had the chicken katsu bento box, which was everything I hoped for, plus it came with something I've never run into before - a light potato salad that I really enjoyed.Access to the parking lot can be a bit tricky, depending on traffic. Fortunately, you can get into the lot on either the east or west side of the building - the west entrance is farther from the intersection, so there's less likelihood of being blocked by eastbound traffic waiting for the light. The other access issue that I encountered was that the restaurant's web site is blocked by my security software. Not sure why, but checking the menu before my visit was a challenge. The atmosphere at Sho was also just what I wanted - quiet and calming. I find that this really adds to my enjoyment of a meal."
"Great little spot for some really good poke! A regular size is plenty for one person and you'll probably have some leftover. The ladies working there were super helpful with recommendation during my first visit. I got a base with half kale salad and half rice and went on to get both types of salmon for my base- which were amazing by the way. I proceeded to add all the toppings and created the yummiest bowl! Note: their chili oil packs a punch so tread lightly!"
"I had an incredible meal at this restaurant. I began the meal with seafood chowder and a crabcake, both dishes were incredible. The crabcake was accompanied with a house, made slaw, that had amazing flavor. For my entrée, I ordered the market seafood salad, it was outstanding. There was smoked salmon on the salad (that is smoked in the restaurant), it was phenomenal. The best thing about this dining experience, is the incredible service I received. My server (Andrew) was so personable, attentive, and he personally boxed every portion of my meal that I couldn't finish. I will definitely come back to this restaurant, due to the amazing service and outstanding food."
"Had a super delicious meal with excellent service at Eleni's. I just wish I were in Portland more often so that I could frequent this gem of a restaurant! Ordered all my greek comfort foods and I would order it all again. The moussaka and arni me filo were great, all the dips and salad were also very tastey. The moussaka had just the right amount of bechamel to veggie balance so that you could still taste all the scrumptious veggie layers. Really how can you go wrong with warm pita bread baked to order upon arrival? Recommend for a night out that feels like a home cooked meal."

Great food, value and service. One of the best prime rib lve had regionally. The bean and bacon soup tasted like someone's grandma cooked it in a big pot in the back.so good. The bread was hot and fresh. Again- so good. Haven't been since they closed in beaverton. That will have to change. Still great after all these years!

I always come to HK Café with my parents when I visit home. It is definitely one of the most affordable and authentic dim sum options in the area. The dishes are pretty reliably hot and fresh, and I always love dim sum when it comes from a push cart. The restaurant is huge so it is able to accommodate big parties!

What a great place in a new and refreshed Vancouver riverfront.YELP SHORT ANSWER: Absolutely this is a first class , causal, water front establishment than is all about fun... not inexpensive but well worth a visit or being a local. LOCATION: Amazing waterfront location, pricey real estate but you can park and spend the afternoon bar-hopping and just exploring. More great expansion of this waterfront area is happening. We used to live there now thinking about moving back just because of the waterfront. Parking is a bit confusing the first time, tall building and open lots be aware of your surroundings later in the evening. FACILITY: Wow, the lease on this huge space must be ginormous but it is so nice. Not noisy, great views, and easy access indoors or out. MENU: Only enjoyed dinner here but there were so many great options, some simple and lite and not at all expensive, other fancy and market priced. FOOD PREP: Exceptional. FOOD QUALITY: The quality of the prep did not hide average food. We have three dinner and all were amazing to taste. LIBATIONS: I did not have anything to drink here but one in our group did, she seemed to enjoy her two drinks... WAITSTAFF: Professional is the first work that comes to mind. Well managed and all seemed to have a passion for being part of the Wildfin experience. OVERALL VALUE: It seems very fair, we will be visiting again and so sorry to see Beaches going away, Kind of the same vibe a Beaches but newer and in a much trendier high-end location. TIP: Parking can be a bit confusing but there are large lots... We did not have reservations but got a table at 5pm on a Friday no problem but Id suggest reservations.

If you're contemplating which pasta might be best, get the Lamb pappardelle. It's one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. There truly is nothing bad on the menu, but the tortellini e pesto is a good alternate. It's a really chill restaurant with decent service and great food.I was, however, slightly disappointed in the tiramisu. It just wasn't what I was looking for, and wasn't a classic tiramisu flavor that I was anticipating.

For our last meal in Oregon, Mrs and the youngest daughter wanted to eat at Cabezon due to good Yelp reviews. Oldest daughter and I decided to finish leftover from all our previous meals instead. We decided to get food to go so that we all could eat together at our hotel. Mrs ordered cioppino and the youngest daughter ordered pork chop. There was a decent amount of seafood in the cioppino and the broth was good. But over all, not as good as the California version. Also, Mrs only got three skinny one inch toasts for dipping, insufficient. The youngest daughter was disappointed with the mesquite grilled pork chop. She said the pork chop was tender but lacking in favor. The mesquite smoke taste was too faint. The corn cake and zucchini were good tasting. The one-piece pork chop dish at $32 was overpriced. She was still hungry after her meal. Oldest daughter and I were glad that we didn't order any food.

This is a true old man bar+restaurant. With the almost 'where everybody knows your name' Cheers feel as my daughter joked, Dan & Louis is a maze of a bar+restaurant with a couple of small secret rooms throughout located in the Old Town Chinatown area by the Willamette River in Portland. My daughter and I came here out of pure luck when we grabbed some donuts at Voodoo to bring to NY and noticed Dan & Louis' easel showing some of their Happy Hr selections. Unlike some places offering Happy Hr at the bar area only, you could actually sit anywhere and STILL take advantage of the low-priced menu. Dan & L. is decorated with half burgundy/half forest green color walls, lots of nautical pieces and frames. The space feels cozy and quite truthfully, all it needed was a roaring fireplace. The guy shucking served as a host and server with terrific energy- and so was everybody else. Our $24 dozen Washington oysters had a nice feel and taste. But our measly fish in our tacos had a heavy dredge on it and took away from the meatiness of the fish. To add, tons of cabbage is added to fluff up the meal. Aside from the tacos, my kid and I felt this was nice choice before my flight the next day. And dozen oysters for $24? It's all good- considering a full dozen in NY is gonna set you back way more than that.

"4 and a half stars for the price, service, and location.Good quality food and decent portion for what you get in a fish place.Place looks pretty historic, 50s/60s looking decor and age all around.Lots of locals of various ages here.. mainly older as I believe a lot of them are neighborhood regulars since they were kids and have came here for years.Cioppino I got had a light tasting broth, but the fishes such as catch of the day salmon, scallops, shrimp were pretty fresh.. if only their scallops were biggerWife's Captain Platter type dish was perfectly executed with light batter of scallops, oysters, scallops, cod.. very addictive.. butThey have the best waffle fries.. tasted like something McDonald's would taste like"
"This was my first time experiencing a sushi conveyor belt. It was actually kind of fun and a scary quick way to pound a lot of food in a short period of time. Small portions of food and small color-coded plates move continuously on a thin conveyor belt. You grab what you want, when you want, and they add up all the plates at the end of your meal. Different color plates are valued differently from $1 or so up to about $4. You can still order more hot dishes to be served on request saving hot food from getting cold on the conveyor. The main thing to understand is the quality. It was decent...certainly nothing high quality. This is more of a slap on the feed bag place than quality sushi experience. Tables were left dirty leaving folks hanging out in the lobby looking famished. Beer and wine are served, the place is not gross and it's a cheap sushi meal. Meh...."
"A guy at my Post Office recommended this place, because Wong's King is gone, and it's right next door.He said the Dim Sum here is good and cheap. We were up for the adventure. The first time we came here, we were seated in from of the fresh saltwater tropical fish tank, quite welcoming. We tried our favorites and compared them to Excellent Cuisine next door. The front of the restaurant is modest, but when you go inside, you can see a large banquet room available for large groups or parties. The Siew Mai are unusually sweeter, but good. The Haw Kow are more flavorful and yummy. The Chicken Bow were rather non descript. The Shanghai Soup dumplings were good. The Naw Mai Gai (sticky rice in lotus leaves) were much better than next door. The Roast Duck and Dan Tat (egg custards) are AMAZING!!!The next time we came here, we decided to try some new items. The waitress remembered us, and struck up a conversation with us.The Cha Siew Bow is almost totally bread. The bread was good, but we were expecting more filling. They have Beef Rolls, which are HUGE! The beef inside is tender, and the outer wrapper is thick and deep fried, totally flavorful inside and out. These are worth getting. We had these are Duck House and were totally disappointed, as they were so very sad and skimpy compared to these Beefy ones at Pure Spice. The Cheese and Shrimp egg rolls are novel, and really good. They we're gone first. Yum Then they served us the Salt Pepper Tofu OMG a MUST HAVE!!! I recommend going out of your way to come to Pure Spice for this dish alone.Wong's King had this dish called Multi-flavored Tofu, but Excellent Cuisine does not carry it.The only other restaurant that I know of that has this is Szechaun Chef in John's Landing (we will try those next)"
"This is a delicious stop for dishes on the European slant, in addition to mainstay diner dishes. Beautiful waterwheel and flower displays. I love how the servers are in dirndle outfits. They also have a gift shop. Lots of parking. Large servings. I got the beef Stroganoff and it was special. It had the twang in the creamy, beautiful sauce. The meat chunks and mushrooms were super soft and tasty. The buttered noodles were perfectly cooked and actually grabbed the creamy sauce. It's satisfying but not overly fat rich, but I am sure it was. I felt so good for hours after eating."
"I was excited to come here for the first time since COVID. Things have changed. It has been remodeled and apparently changed ownership. The decor has been updated to a more simple, clean aesthetic (no more carpet, banquet decorations, or chandeliers). Many of the menu offerings are the same, but sadly, were not prepared the same way as before.Seafood fish maw soup: The fish maw was plentiful, but seemed undercooked. It was more chewy/gummy than crunchy.Salt and pepper squid: the squid and batter was very thin and not crispy. The onions had good flavor.Enoki mushroom and tofu hotpot: This was good, and arrived bubbling in its pot. It literally only had enoki and shiitake mushrooms, and tofu. Usually, there are more veggies too. Hot tea and white rice are included."
"I stayed at the Kimpton RiverPlace Hotel for two nights last month and dined at King Tide quite a few times and had an enjoyable - and tasty - experience each time! It was helpful that I had a couple of dining credits for being a Platinum Elite IHG Rewards Member and booking my hotel through the Chase Travel Portal. For dinner on my first night, I ordered the risotto which was fine. On the following evening, I very much enjoyed a dozen of fresh oysters and the mushroom toast. I also ordered a mocktail that was so refreshing. I must've been on a mushroom kick because the following morning I ordered the mushroom omelette for breakfast! The vanilla latte was so good and I wanted to order three more but refrained. I loved the omelette, particularly the ratio of mushrooms to cheese, really quite nice! My servers, Cassandra and Laina, were very friendly and attentive. I was seated inside but loved the ambiance and view nonetheless. I know there are so many great places to dine in Portland but I would recommend King Tide if you're staying at the Kimpton or nearby!"
"My review can only speak to the boiling pot and rockin' spicy wings. Food: 3.5/5 and 5/5Service: 5/5Ambiance: Casual Value: 3.5/5For me the boiling pot was a 3.5. It serves its purpose when you're craving Taiwanese hot pot, but the ingredients feel too simple like it can easily be made at home. I'll continue to come here for hot pot, but if boiling point were ever to come to Portland, I'd go there instead. Value wise, I think it's a bit pricier than I'd like it, driving my rating. The wings though, were a 5/5. Great flavor and actually not that spicy at all. Perfect crispness. Would definitely order these again. At the price they are at the time of my review, I think it's a good value."
"Very good food was somewhat empty once I got here but picked up after a while, service was cool, and the atmosphere was very basic. They ficus more on the quality of food verses decoration and all the other hype.It reminds me of Chin's Garden back in Detroit, MI, off 6 mile and Southfield Freeway service drive.Food there is similar, straight to the point, no frills, just good.If you haven't been here, I suggest that you stop by and try them out."
"Our go-to neighborhood Thai joint where we usually order takeout. We've been coming here for years but they've tightened up their game recently, revamped the menu and spiffed up the interior a bit, and the dishes and flavors are more consistent these days. We usually get one of the stir fry's, and my recent Pad Prik King order was especially tasty, with just the right amount of heat and garlic and plenty of meat. Pro tip: this is pretty universal but if you order takeout the portions are usually smaller than what you'd get if you dined there. And you should dine there: it's a pleasant, cozy atmosphere inside considering there's a strip mall outside, they have beer, wine and even some mixed drinks, and the servers are all super nice and patient.Usually plenty of parking, too."
"Incredibly warm, welcoming and friendly servers and staff.Crab puffs that actually taste like crab, and not just cream cheese! Our order arrived hot and ready in a remarkably short amount of time.Delicious Yellow Curry and Pad Garlicky (although my Thai Hot could have been hotter!).I see that others have had less than satisfactory meals here, but from our visit, I see nothing to complain about. Either they've addressed the issues mentioned previously, or our experience was anomaly. Somehow I doubt that.A little out of the way for us, but good to know there's a place in St. Johns that makes some darn good Thai food."
"I am always looking for that next Great place to eat. So when a friend asked me to meet her here for dinner, I was totally in.Upon entering... This place is really cute. There are parasol's hanging from the ceiling in all different colors. There's a TV screen that shows videos of people making art out of fruits and vegetables. Very clean and orderly. My understanding this is a family run business and I love that. We were provided nice new, clean menus they were laminated to start with and provided with waters. I ordered the pad Thai and the fresh shrimp rolls. The food came really fast. It was presented beautifully, and the peanut sauce with the shrimp rolls was perfect and not overly sweet. The pad Thai was garnished, beautifully and delicious with lots of fresh bean sprouts and chicken breast was used instead of chicken thigh. All in all, it was very close to perfect, and I will be coming here again! :-)"
"Eminently friendly couple serving up some fresh, tasty, crispy fried halibut and chips. My wife and I split a 4-piece which, at $40 a basket, we hoped would be enough to fill us up. Thankfully, the halibut pieces were not only massive, they were also tender, flaky, juicy and piping-hot! Among the best in the city, if you ask me!Additionally, the Piedmont Station food cart pod is probably the most aesthetic in Portland, and has a solid variety of dining options. Although we initially came here to try another cart, which was closed outside of their posted operating hours, their loss is Halibut's gain (and ours)! We'll definitely be back!"
"Had a wonderful time on Saturday afternoon, lounging on the StockPot's outdoor patio that overlooks the luscious green golf course, as I took full advantage of one of the last few days of Portland sunshine, while enjoying entertaining conversation with good friends, leisurely sipping on Iced Spanish Coffees and being waiting on by the lovely Miss Lexi. Good food, tasty drinks, quick seating and fantastic service on a gorgeous weekend... what more could you possibly ask for?I highly recommend this hidden Portland gem."
"I've only tried the Clam Chowder and it was excellent. The owner was very nice. Will update when I go back to sample more of the menu."
"Fish so good you'll slap your mama! Where do I even begin? A rumbling tummy led me here, and I couldn't be more thrilled at my choice!Of all the menu options, the Catfish Nuggets platter was calling my name. I added a side of mac & cheese, some fried okra and a cold canned soda.A man was busy unpacking a plethora of cakes into the refrigerator and I eenie meenie miney moed my way to a fat chunk of carrot cake with cream cheese icing. There was plenty of available parking though it seemed many customers were walking in from the neighborhood. In addition to indoor dining room tables and bar window seats there is a nice patio with lots of seating with a breeze, a nice option away from the heat of the kitchen. Everyone there was so friendly and they even offer a discount for cash payments. Two televisions inside keep you entertained while you dine or wait for a take out order. Everything was outstanding. The fish & okra was lightly breaded and crispy hot. The mac and cheese was on point & my regards to the baker for that bomb cake. When you grow up in the South you have a certain level of expectation where catfish is concerned and they exceeded every one of them!"
"I think I've found my new favorite sushi place!I've been to MANY sushi restaurants over the years, and Sushi One is spectacular. The restaurant is meticulously clean, staff is very friendly and helpful, variety is huge, and the food is absolutely stunning! Although there is no parking lot, there is plenty of easy street parking available. The sushi rolls here are unique in that most of them are not loaded with avocado, and are not swimming in heavy sauces. The chefs seem to truly appreciate the ingredients, and know best how to prepare and highlight them. I've had negi hama many places before, and Susi One's is hands-down the best. The crispy and fresh scallion in it was something I don't recall discerning at other places. The same holds true for the hamachi kama and sauce that accompanies it. The baked lobster was amazingly great, too. Not at all greasy or heavy, and amazingly fresh. The presentations are particularly great as well. Beautiful flowers and bull's eye beet (or radish, not sure which) act as adornments and serving holders for wasabi, etc. The dishes and place settings are remarkably nice as well. Each of the rolls I had here had an almost magical depth and complexity of flavor, the likes of which I'd never experienced anywhere else before. The only slight negative is that they don't (or at least didn't) have any low-sodium soy sauce.I cannot wait for my next trip and highly recommend Sushi One."
