"Located at Pioneer Courthouse Square, parking was hard to find, but this food cart was not. Service was friendly and helpful with no wait to order, and it took about 10 minutes for our food to be ready. The breakfast sandwiches here are unique and tasty, the sriracha mix-a-lot with just the right spice, and the yolko ono with a delicious light layer of pesto, a slight char on the sausage patty inside (almost overcooked but nice and savory), the egg fried perfectly, and the sourdough bread airy and flavorful... it's clear they use quality ingredients here. There was nowhere to sit and eat as they were setting up for a concert on the day we visited, so we ended up walking to Director Park nearby and enjoying our meal at the tables over there."
Our signature dish. Fried egg, homemade pesto, parmesan, and a hand-pressed house sausage patty. Feiil staff tip: It's great with havarti and aardvark aioli!

"Had a massive (albeit pricey) order for our group of 5, so we were able to sample a bit of everything. Had the following biscuits: the reggie, veggie reggie, bbq biscuit, wedgie, brisket biscuit.I liked the wedgie (fried chicken + fried green tomato) and reggie, the latter was drowned in a fantastic gravy. I tried the veggie reggie, which was also comparably delicious! Would prob come back for these biscuits, but would pass on the bbq biscuit and brisket biscuit as the bbq components were alright. Did take a while for our order, but was expected based the size of it. Very filling, and very high in sodium (chugging water the remainder of the day). Not too much seating (3 low tables, and bar height seating for 8 or so ppl)."
"Came here a few months ago and liked the place but didn't LOVE it. Last time I said the pizza crust was too thick. I don't know if it is too thick or just not a "next level" amazing crust. Not sure if the dough is hand made and fresh. Toppings are really good though. I ordered The tiramisu for dessert and they make one of the best tiramisu's I have ever had! Staff here is impressive. Very friendly and proactive, which is nice to see. Pizza came out piping hot and right to my table. They waited to bring me the dessert and brought it over as I was eating my last pizza slice! I didn't have to ask or go to the counter, they kept an eye on me and brought it at the right time! Good food and a staff that has attention to detail! If only the could get that pizza crust right, they would have had 5 stars!!!"
"Oh YES!!! We LOVED everything we ate here. The Sellwood slider was particularly perfect and definitely go for the garlic aioli fry sauce. Extra bonus points for how quickly it came out to our table (faster than fast). It's a casual, order at the counter kind of place, with indoor and outdoor seating. Cost is fair especially for the quality! Traveling with a young one, I also appreciated the kids meal option at a great price ($7) with a fun extra treat (lollipop). I'd definitely come back next time I'm in Portland! Highly recommend!"
"We stopped in on a Sunday morning. I thought It would be like most places in the city and jammed. It was not. We arrived shortly after opening and found it mostly empty. You place your order at the counter and they call your number when it's ready. The food was tasty and quick. It has a pub atmosphere so it might be fun in the evenings as there is a full bar. It may be good in the evening and the next day if you feel like a little Irish for your coffee.Bathrooms require a key and are outside and around the corner. All in all a good stop and I would definitely stop again."
"Back for lunch. This time we were the first customers here between 12-1pm on a weekday. No confusing lines and immediate service from the bartender. Sat in the covered patio outside. Our food selection was 2 banh mi sandwiches (pork belly & chicken), 1 burger, 1 French fry and 1 side potato salad. Notes on the food:Everything is à la carte. My companions had the banh mi's and had no complaints. I had the burger and it was so delicious. Maybe my favorite burger in town. Juicy meat, flavorful sauce, pillowy bun. The fries were hot, crispy, salty and tasty, albeit standard. My party didn't care for the potato salad. The pieces of potato were cut extra-large and weren't exactly bite size so it was awkward to eat. The fresh dill was a nice touch but the mustard seeds were odd. I also did not enjoy the "Push Pop" cocktail. It didn't taste *anything* like the frozen childhood treat I remember. The tastes weren't complimentary, and the best I can describe it as is creamy pineapple and soy sauce. On the other hand the Fort George Vortex IPAs we had were great. Not a huge selection of beer/cider/wine, but they specialize in mixed cocktails with cute names. There is a small food menu here but what they do make is pretty good. I kind of wish they had more rotating specials. Also wish they'd bring back that Surf &Turf Burger!! Yum. Something new: looks like there's a couple more inside restrooms nowadays, which is great because there only used to be 1. The seating area in the back had also been reimagined and looks chic and welcoming. It also was apparent while we were there that a brand new deck is being built. I overheard the bartender say that it will be a wooden raised deck with a fire pit in the center."
"Great overall vibe and menu selection. Some good seating options and looks like there's a back room for larger events. At first glance the prices are shockingly high. However, the portion is very generous. The fried rice on special - which easily feeds two - was very good. Bacon fatty pieces make a difference.Staff is cool."
"Don't sleep on the teriyaki chicken plate! Or the hot pastrami sandwiches. Or the salami sandwiches. Or pretty much anything. This place is great."

If you want hot food, great and fast service, and with an ambiance of being in the heart of Portland. Find this food truck! Are you wandering around and hungry for breakfast? Hit this spot up. I met a really pretty young woman and was chatting away while I ate my sandwich, so forgot to take a picture. But man, I'll be coming back to Portland next month and will be here again!

Order: The Reggie w/ sausage gravyPros: So I came here before and left an okay review. Since then, I have come several times and I think this place had to grow on me. While things are not super seasoned, it is pretty good. They also have Texas Pete which helps with adding kick and a little flavor. Cons: I hate that you cant call in to place in order.

On our way back to our hotel, we decided to pick up some dinner so we wouldn't have to leave the hotel again. Based on yelp reviews, we decided to try Bistro 23. To be honest, when I found it, I judged this book by its cover. I probably would not have stopped if it hadn't been for the reviews. It looks more like a store front than it does a restaurant. Inside, there were some customers spread out in a large and spacious but somewhat sterile looking dining room. But she went inside to order, while I walked around with the dog outside. Pig in the Woods Pizza - 5 - Probably one of the best "Personal-size" pizzas I've ever had. The crust was tasty and not too thick. Ham was good, as were the mushrooms. The arugula on top was a bit wilted after a short drive. I'm not sure if that was intentional or not but it did not hurt the quality of the pie. Caesar Salad - 5 - She was very pleased with her salad. Dressing was on the side so the lettuce didn't get soggy.Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Tomato Basil Soup Combo - 5 - She ate 1/2 hot and the other half cold, the next morning. Tiramisu - 5 - Light and fluffy! The menu is small, but they do it quite well. We would not hesitate to return for another go!

Fantastic! Stopped in randomly after a meeting in the area. Cool vibe with local craft beer and specialty sliders. Seating both indoors and outside overlooking Williams Ave. I had a couple different sliders and both were super flavorful and well prepared. The smoked pulled pork with kraut and cheese was amazing If you are in NE PDX. well worth a try!!

Waffles without all the hassle! I really liked my Cheesecake waffle with strawberries! It was not overly sweet but well balanced and the waffle was easy to cute with my knife. They are large waffles that fill you up, so it's okay to go hungry! They also have a full bar so you can pair your waffle with a Bloody Mary or mimosa, for a full breakfast experience.

We were staying nearby while visiting Portland and our host recommended this place. Glad we listened. The Banh mi sandwiches here are BOMB. Truly. I got the chicken, my partner got the pork. These sandwiches aren't traditional banh mi's but they are a wonderfully delicious version of them. From the fresh cilantro, to the crusty bread and the pickled vegetables in it, all the flavors and the textures were a perfect combo. Only downside was that I got a mocktail here since I don't really drink (it was a strawberry lemon mocktail, forgot the name) and although it was really pretty adorned with fancy ice, it tasted like cough syrup. Maybe they use a fake strawberry syrup? Was a bummer. Didn't drink it and it wasn't cheap. The ambiance here is dark and moody, especially at night which is when we went, but the staff was friendly. We sat at the bar and we asked for the check we weren't given an itemized receipt which I found weird. We had a long travel day and were tired so we didn't really care at the moment but I thought it was strange to order food and not get an itemized receipt. Although we gave the bartender a cash tip, I'm thinking they might have already charged us tip which is weird.

"Great spot for pie and cake. Banana caramel was incredible. Light and not too sweet and massive - see the cell phone for reference. Apple pumpkin pie was equally good. With homemade whipped cream. Will come again"
"I was happy to give Dot's a go since friends go here often and have recommended it for eons. I go to a lot of things alone but it felt awkward to go here by myself to grab a bite. After a movie at the Clinton Street Theater, me and my vegan friend wanted some food. I don't normally identify my friends on their dietary requirements. It is always great to be mindful though since I try not to be that jerk who assumes places have options because a lot of spots have like one thing they can make into a vegan thing so if there are a few places, why not chose the one with more options for us all. She was actually pretty excited because she had seen several options online but there were far more options she saw on the menu. Really a lot of the menu offers options. We took turns ordering at the bar and they were super friendly. My food came out fast - I just grabbed a chicken strip basket and an RC. It was good and I was not expecting a huge amount. I had to take most of it to go which reheated great later. My friend got the vegan kitchen sink fries which come with numu vegan cheese shreds, vegan bacon bits, pico de gallo, salsa, jalapeño peppers, spicy tofu sauce and she added black beans, guacamole and ranch. She also wanted lunch for the next day so she ordered a vegan Korean BBQ soy curl sandwich which is sesame ginger spiced soy curls, carrots, fresh jalapeños, cilantro, gochujang red chili paste, vegan mayo on a hoagie roll and a side of spicy tofu sauce. Her food took forever. First the bar tender came over and said that the cook had accidentally made the fries non vegan. Then a lot longer time later the chef came over said that he had run out of vegan cheese and then left again. We were like, wait.... so that was SO long ago - does that mean he had to go get more cheese as we still were not told when her food would arrive. When he brought it out she said it was missing the Guac she had paid for a side of. He almost started arguing with her saying that the order he got mentioned nothing about that and she offered to dig out her receipt so he went and got that. I felt so terrible for her because in the end everything was way over salted so she really did not enjoy it but it took so ridiculously long for it that we were exhausted and done. The vibe here is really good to with insanely weird art and dark lighting. So, in a pinch they've got a menu that can maybe help you out."
"Old School at its best! "Grandma" the owner is so kind and proud of her business. The chicken fried steak might be pre-fab, but the delicious thick gravy more than makes up for it. Eggs and hash browns were cooked to perfection. This place screams value as the portion is generous. And there's no inner-Portland BS such as: standing in line, automatic tips, health and cost of living fee, get your own utensils, bus your own stuff, etc."
"4 and a half stars for the price, service, and location.Good quality food and decent portion for what you get in a fish place.Place looks pretty historic, 50s/60s looking decor and age all around.Lots of locals of various ages here.. mainly older as I believe a lot of them are neighborhood regulars since they were kids and have came here for years.Cioppino I got had a light tasting broth, but the fishes such as catch of the day salmon, scallops, shrimp were pretty fresh.. if only their scallops were biggerWife's Captain Platter type dish was perfectly executed with light batter of scallops, oysters, scallops, cod.. very addictive.. butThey have the best waffle fries.. tasted like something McDonald's would taste like"
"And here we were again yesterday! This time we sat near the back, and I mixed it up by ordering a tasty (but not too filling) waffle. My Son enjoyed his Omelet dish and over a big glass of OJ. Down to Earth is just that."
"Best cheesesteak in pdx, hands down. The amount of toppings you can add is endless and the steak is melt in your mouth tender. The roll is soft and fluffy and provides the perfect vehicle to deliver the deliciousness in and around your mouth. Employees up front are extremely personable and friendly and didn't mind providing suggestions on what I should order. The inside is a bit cozy but i would rather enjoy this bad boy at home anyway. Will definitely be coming back next time I have a cheesesteak craving"
"I DO reccomend Sammich. On a recent trip to PDX, I was a part of a takeout order of Sammiches taken to a concert in the park for dinner and, a few days later, checked out the Sammich food truck. My first Sammich was a turkey with cranberry with their signature shredded lettuce et al. It was a solid sandwich, packed and tasty. I particularly liked the thick cut and generosity of the turkey slices. The second time, I just had a taste of the porkstrami Sammich, which was VERY good. Would definitely order that one in the future.Their sandwiches also come with a local bag of chips, SOLID!!"
"I definitely think I found one of my favorite banh mi places in PDX. Everything was so good, filling, fresh, and flavorful. It definitely is a hole in a wall type of place. So whether you're sitting down real quick to chow it down or getting to go, this place was great.Service is quick and straightforward. I got the house special and I easily could have eaten two of them. Iced coffee is alright, but does the job if you're craving some!"
"Quality food and tea. Nice place to work with wifi and cool inside in the heat. Good outdoor seating as well. They bring food/coffee/tea out as well, nice folks, good service."
"This chain seems to be taking over PDX. Interior and exterior are both crisp and modern, with indoor and outdoor seating. Go up to the counter, order and they'll bring it out when ready. Service is quick and friendly. You're here for biscuits and their biscuits are killer. Flaky and buttery, no matter what you order, you're going to love it, though it will put you into hibernation mode immediately after. I tried a Reggie, which is *gulp* fried chicken, bacon, cheddar on a biscuit, smothered in sausage gravy. Every component was perfect - super well seasoned fried chicken, salty porky bacon, tillamook cheddar is divine, all on that perfect biscuit. And ya, dump some flavorful gravy over all that. One bite and you'll be in heaven (and dreamland). If you go for the combo, I highly recommend the coleslaw to cut through the grease, as it's got a good vinegary tang and is just good coleslaw in general. The snickerdoodle is fresh and has just the right amount of cinnamon. Can't come to Portland without trying this."
"Randomly looked for this place for a quick breakfast. And this turned out to be very nice. I only tried dishes with eggs (no ham, no bacon) - and breakfast items were very nice. Ambience is good too and service is quick."
"WHEN: Sat @5:45pmWe barely beat the rush coming here, and decided to sit inside due to the heat wave. It's such a lovely restaurant, and I appreciate all the plants in here! It's our first time, and decided to share the following:CLASSIC CHEESEBURGER - $131/4 lb beef, American Cheese, Jojo Sauce, Shredded Lettuce, Pickles, White Onion, Butter Roll.Ahh yesss...solid burger. I appreciate the amount of shredded lettuce in this juicy burger. Add a nice freshness and texture to it. Butter roll was soft to my liking, and I feel like I really could finish this bad boy all by myself!FRIED CHICKEN MELT - $17Cheddar & American Cheese, Coleslaw, Ranch, Crystal Hot Sauce, Shokupan. The description left out the all the wonderful chives that is sprinkled on this unique sandwich. This melt is far from dry, and was enjoyed through and through. The bread is clearly buttered and toasted to perfection, and the chicken inside is tender and the batter was crispy. I'm a cheesehead so thank you for adding more than one kind of cheese. I rec this a lot!The process is ordering at the counter first before seating. But our food came out so fast! Oh boy do they look pretty! I'm glad we are able to pour our own carafe of water so we don't have to bother the staff for more, or make multiple trips to fill our cup!It love the variety of sandwiches here--having it as a burger or melt. They also have plant-based and tofu options! I know they are known for their potato wedges but we had too many fries at this point."
"Absolutely ideal spot on NE Halsey for breakfast, lunch, coffee, or tea. There are plenty of items to choose from their menu, and the many we've tried are both ample and delicious. Very friendly, cordial service. Booths and tables inside as well as out on the street. New Deal Cafe is a perfect spot for a meeting over cups of coffee or tea, or just sitting by yourself while working on a laptop. No loud music or TVs. Very clean and safe. All the staff continue to wear masks.Open from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Closed Tuesdays, Wednesdays."
"Ducked in from the rain for my wife to order a coffee; she ended up ordering a hot coconut milk tea with boba instead, and after one sip, I ordered something similar (a hot vanilla milk tea with boba) for myself! I generally avoid such drinks for calories' sake, but I couldn't help myself: they're just too good!Glancing over the rest of the menu, they're rocking all sorts of awesome teas, milk or otherwise, including Thai, iced and loose leaf varieties, tea lattes, Italian sodas and smoothies, plus a delectable array of Bahn Mis (one of my absolute favorites!) and breakfast sandwiches. It may have been bad weather and a happy accident that brought us in here, but we will return of our own volition in the future! What a great find!"
"I live down the street and finally stopped in for a drink the other night to check it out. I love love loved all of the Halloween decorations. This place really went ALL out! There a candy bowl, spider webs and lots of creepy creatures around. I got a vanilla honey cider and it was phenomenal! I've never tried a cider that flavor but it was sweet, refreshing and mellow all at the same time. None of the flavors were overpowering and it had a cream soda type flavor. There's a really cool vending machine with adults supplies...overnight bag, accessories, and mystery bag which I bought. The picture shows everything that was inside and it was so fun to open and see all the random goodies! Such a great idea."
"I love Spitz! Ingredients are fresh and the portion sizes are healthy! Come hungry, for sure. Looking forward to trying the wraps. I kept seeing them come out of the kitchen and they look magnificent."
"Hidden gym in Portland. The pod is a bit hard to find and easy to miss unless you live in the area. There's no parking so prepare yourself for a bit of walking. Lamb gyro over rice: 5/5, one of the best lamb I've ever had. It isn't stinky or moist, the flavor is in every bite and delicious. I only wished there were more lamb in our rice plate.Service was really fast, we got our food within 3 minutes and it's located in one of the photo friendly pods, lots and lots of seating as well."
