"How I heard of this place: Visiting friends in Portland's Laurelhurst neighborhood, this was among the recommendations for places we could walk to from their home. We were given three or four options, and food from the Pacific Islands sounded most enticing.Type of cuisine: "Ate-Oh-Ate is a Hawaiian restaurant ...[w]ith a focus on delivering authentic Hawaiian-style food, Ate-Oh-Ate is dedicated to providing the finest and most delicious dishes possible. We offer a variety of molds and plastics and are proud to support local tournaments.Open every day, Ate-Oh-Ate is available for dine-in and take-out. Come and experience the taste of Hawaii in Portland at Ate-Oh-Ate."What I ordered: My sister and I wanted to share, so I took her top two, Korean Chicken ($15.95) - grilled boneless thighs with sweet, spicy Korean chili sauce, served with kimchi; and Shoyu Chicken ($15.95) - boneless chicken thighs simmered in shoyu, brown sugar, ginger and star anise with a side of mac salad. I also indulged in a Frozen Limeade ($6). What I loved: The Korean Chicken was great, slightly spicy but still easy to swallow. The food overall lacked the punch of flavor that we are used to in Hawaiian cuisine, but the portions were plentiful and filled us up! Why I loved it: A cute space with character - concrete walls, chalkboard menus, wooden tables/chairs in the long space, exposed wood in the tall ceilings, and calming forest green walls with silhouetted tree paintings. Cost: Average"
"My last review of Du's was in 2016, but I've been going since at least 2007. Still--one of if not the best tasting anything in Portland. That's what she said. Honors: They were about to close for about an hour to service the grill (in the early afternoon), but after learning I was visiting from DC, fired up and made me two chickens extra sauce to go."

"Ordered door dash and man this was delicious! I recommend the mandoo (deep fried dumplings). It was packed with flavor. The hand pulled noodles were made fresh and lots of protein was included, which is a plus. I want to try other dishes next."
"Driven by for years and finally stopped. It satisfied my craving for Korean food, but it's about as low-end of any Korean restaurant I've visited.Observation: not one Korean employee. The Dolsot Bibimbap was subpar, but ample. The banchan: meh. The interior ambiance: sloppy. The outside: sketch.Service: friendly and above average. Meaning, she checked-in a few times, was pleasant, a little above and beyond actually. So would I come back after all that? Yes, because it's value including generous reorders of banchan."
"It's such a vibe here!! I could definitely see myself coming back here the next time I'm in town. We didn't try the Gimbap Party menu here, so can't really speak to that, but it looked awesome. It was great seeing so many tables enjoying that. I love Gimbap and it's cool they made it into such an interactive experience here. The actual set up of the restaurant is one of the best I've ever come across. It truly feels like you're at someone's house, and love how big and spacious the patio area is. This is truly the perfect place for a nice dinner in the summer. We got a few non-alcoholic drinks as well as desserts like shaved ice and another specialty rice cake dessert. They were just setting up for karaoke when we were about to leave, and I could imagine this being such a fun place to spend a weekend evening! The team here is also so kind!"
"Solid Korean restaurant sitting on top of a Korean grocery store. No frills and straightforward Korean cooking - just like how my mom and dad like it :) We got the pajeon (seafood pancake) to share and I got the grilled mackerel. Pajeon was crispy and lots of seafood bits. Mackerel was cooked to near perfection but maybe a tad overdone. Seasoned just right though! I think I'll be coming here often because there's also the perk of getting my groceries done right after! Such a gem!!"
"Who doesn't want a Korean food truck in their neighborhood?Small portions just right for a midday snack.Galbi is good but with plain chopped lettuce.Hot Dog simply garnished with kimchee. What to expect:Street parking off of Division. If you want to dine under the carport eating tables are limited.Rice has been hit or miss. Food takes a bit of time so order ahead."
"Since I'm not a Beaverton regular, I can't tell whether if JCD Korean restaurant had just relocated to the other part of the same plaza, if it's a grand opening, or if the restaurant had been operating for a while. We came here Sunday night on Labor Day weekend and even at 8pm there was a bit of a wait for a party of 4. There seems to be a lot of large parties and celebration when we walked in. We were seated at 830 and tried to order as quickly as we could as we were starving. The restaurant seemed extremely understaffed and we felt bad for the servers as they were running around in a big restaurant. It probably took us over 30 minutes before we received our order. The banchan were also not delivered to our table until our main dishes arrived. We felt bad rushing the staff since the kitchen was probably backlogged, but a lot of tables were doing KBBQ so the cooked items we ordered shouldn't have taken long. I did like the seafood tofu soup (Haemul soondubu) and the glass noodle (japchae) were the highlight of the meal. Portions were on the larger side and we were beyond full sharing 3 dishes among 4 people. There's a lot of potential for the restaurant but really wish they would figure out their staffing issue on the floor as well as in the kitchen!"
"My boyfriend said he's been coming here for years. The portions are the perfect amount of food. I love how there is options to grill Korean bbq. We were craving something soupy. We opted for the bulgogi & curry combo. The curry soup is a must try! I never had it any where else. The staff are super friendly and always refilled my banchan. I would definitely come back."
"So I pay money to cook my own food ? Alright then ! This place had been on my bookmarks for years and one fine evening when we were particularly hungry we decided what better day than today to stuff our faces . We came in on Sunday evening and there was a 20 minute wait before we were seated . Annoyingly there were plenty of open tables however . The setting is a little different than most Korean BBQ joints -its not all you can eat and keep that in mind before you go . The various meat options come with a price and you can pick what you like otherwise there is a couple mix n match combos as well . Menu also has a selection of a la carte Korean dishes . We got the BQ Combo and a side of Korean pancakes . The meats though limited in selection comes in huge quantity and it was definitely more than we can eat .The grill was a little wonky at first but turned out ok after a while . The combo comes with a bowl of rice , stew and side dishes -mostly pickled veggies .The pork bulgogi was our favorite . The good thing about the fixed menu is that you can take the rest of it to-go which most KBBQ place don't offer . Service is alright , they do what you ask for and that's about it . Wont come check up on you till you ask . we also got a traditional Korean drink that went very well with the food . Overall , I would say they are alright although ,I don't see myself returning anytime soon ."
"This place is honestly pretty underrated - we went here on a Saturday dinner around 6:30pm aka supposedly prime dinner time and there were only 2 tables occupied. We got to sit in one of the nice hammock-like chairs and ordered 2 cocktails and 2 entrees to share for the 2 of us. We tried:Kyoto Fog - nice matcha flavor and the alcohol did not taste too strong. It was a nice touch to seePinkitini - very floral and fruity, light and refreshing drink with lychee but the lychee was not sweet at all (perhaps a bit watered down) for some reason.Million Dollar Shrimp Tom Kha Ramen - sooooo delicious! Coconut lemongrass soup with noodles that were just al dente and fresh shrimp. It is to no surprise this is one of the most popular dishes on the menuMoo Kra Tiem - garlic pepper pork. I do like the grilling of the meat and the spicy sauce, but the rice was way too mushy so that was a miss. This is one of their seasonal specials.Service is good as water refills were apparent and the servers were fairly attentive to take dishes away as needed. I would recommend this place if you want a place that serves good Thai/Korean inspired food and want a casual, not overly crowded dining experience."

I usually go to the other location but we were in this area and decided to stop and eat here. They were very busy even though it was a little early for lunch rush. Service was good but they were sure hustling to get food out. The food is the same as the other location. The portions are good and I love their sauce. They don't sauce the food too much so you can decide for yourself, but they do have it on the table along with other condiments for you to enjoy. It's pretty simple and I did notice on the menu that they offer plates with 2 options. Although I didn't get 2 items it's nice to know that may be an option in the future. I just really like their mac salad.

As a fourth generation Asian American I've had my fair share of teriyaki. This place has been hyped up so much that honestly I'm not quite sure what expectations I had. I don't know what got into my brain but I felt I had to have the chicken. So I got the chicken and the pork. The chicken was good. It was juicy enough. Nothing exceptional but in my opinion chicken is really easy to screw up. The pork had some good flavor on it. Nice char on it. Juicy enough. I liked it. I added some sauce but I think I added too much but that was my fault. If I loved salad I would appreciate the amount of it. Teriyaki salad has two kinds of dressing. Creamy and garlic ginger bomb. I guess I'd choose creamy. It was ok. Price was a little high. But it's possible I've completely lost touch. The soda machine was broken. I don't know if it always is, but I really wanted one. Ambiance is nothing special. On par for sandy boulevard so I'm not offended. Is it good. Yes. Is it worth crossing town and making it a compulsory Portland meal? That might be a stretch.

We had a huge noodle craving so this restaurant immediately drew us in! We decided to order takeout and was surprised how quick the service was. We order the Du Kuh Bee noodle which consists of hand pulled noodles with green cabbage, carrot, onion, spinach and your choice of protein. Beef and pork were our picks. The order was packaging nicely and even came with a mini side of pickled reddish. The flavor of the noodles were tasty, it definitely has that Korean flavor you'd expect! The meat was tender and noodles were a nice texture. I just wish there would of been a bit more meat and that the noodles were a bit less oily. Overall, I really did enjoy the flavor of the noodles and it solved my noodle craving!

K-town is a good beginner's place for Korean BBQ, to get the experience of cooking your own food. The food itself was medicore, the meats could be better. Veggies was very sad. Banchans were basic. The steamed egg was deflated and dipped in like a crater with barely any eggs. Lastly, I'm not a fan of gas stoves with a metal grill. I prefer charcoal and/or the webbed metal grill for better flavor. Wait time was around 20 mins for a table for two. AYCE $35/per person.

I'd wanted to dine here for quite a while. So I was thrilled when they were hosting the Good Food foundations dinner and I was invited to attend. The service was exceptional, especially considering it was an event of all food and beverage industry professionals, and business owners. A very demanding group.Such a beautiful and unique set up with the open courtyard design. Wish I'd gotten a photo of that, but there are plenty available to reference online. The cocktails were exceptional. I had one that had a slight note of savoriness to it with sesame oil. The starters that were put out for everyone to Nashon while they arrived at the event were fresh, unique, and delicious with a seafood.Mind blowing dinner served family style. Grilled beef and Hamachi Crudo served with an array of sides, rice and seaweed to create handheld bites.

Consistency. We have been to Spring for about 15 years. We very spoiled here it's truly a perfect walk for us. They are very generous on Banchan. Little tiny plates of appetizers that touch the heart of every one. It's a Korean way of serving yet if you are new might not be used to anything can be free of charge in food business these days. Spicy squid and hot bowl bibimbub are always our favorites. It's a real Korean eatery, cook and serve by Korean, on the second floor of Korean grocery store. What else can you ask for!?! This family deserves good tips doing their job!

Just chose this food truck because is closest to where I was walking. While waiting for my room I decided to walk. It's really hit and miss in the d-town area.Ordered my spicy chicken with Kim chee, sprouts & rice.Waited 12 or so minutes, the guy was friendly. No juice or drinks so let's see how this will go down. Disclaimer it's springing guy says you can go over to the bus and eat.. like cool. Get on the bus there is a drink fee.. fyi.

I am always trying to find a great Korean spot and I think I found the one! JCD is in a plaza but parking spots are limited with the other businesses in the area so I recommend coming during off peak hours. I've been here a couple of times now and each time it's packed and people are waiting to be seated/take things to go. It is a small space so be sure to come extra early if you're in a group larger than 4 people. My usual items to order are the ttbeokki, spicy pork, and pajeon. The three have great flavors and portion sizes that can easily be shared. I enjoy the sauce on the ttbeokki that is on the thicker side which allows the sauce to hold on the chewy rice cakes. The spicy pork is a great protein to get and pair with white rice (yum!) a little oily though. The pajeon is always sooo crispy and the sauce to dip it in is light. I've also tried the black bean noodles and pork broth soup/sundae and those are also great items to try that are not usual items you see on all Korean menus. Service here is friendly and quick to bring any additional banchan that we might have finished. Banchan options are so so but overall really solid with the meal.

"We love Frank's Noodle House & it's a must try when you're in town! We have ate at the Portland location and our first time at the Beaverton location. Service was friendly, food came out fresh & fast! Compared to the Portland location, Beaverton is larger, cleaner, more modern, plenty of parking versus street parking. We ordered the chicken fried rice, hand pulled noodles with shrimp, garlic bok choy and the pork dumplings. Every single dish was delicious and makes you want to eat more! Some of the best fried rice I have ever had. The taste level of the food is same as Portland. You cant go wrong with either location. We will come back again when we are in town next time!"
"Wow, I've been sleeping on this spot for waaay too long. Was always a bit sketched out by the exterior of the place but after some research I convinced myself to give them a try and I couldn't be happier! The inside is cozy and rustic. They used a lot of wood and decors to mimick a Korean suburban home. The aunties working there couldn't be friendlier, tbh this might be the warmest service we've got at a Korean place in OR. They gave us time to look over the menu, ask questions, and constantly filling up our drinks and banchans. It's amazing. They offer pretty typical Korean items but a good variety and at more reasonable prices, especially at the portion that they give you. Plus, their food was AMAZING. It really felt like you've been invited to eat at a Korean's friend house and their mom is cooking. Everything tasted so homey and fresh, we couldn't help but devored everything we ordered. We got the Meat Pancake which were thin slices of meat battered in egg and fried; don't knock it until you've tried it. It's such a comfort food. The spicy sauce went so well with it too. Another thing we got was the Spicy Galbijjim. Definitely the pricier item on the menu and I would say it's a bit too overpriced for the pot of stew that we got but they did give us meaty pieces of short ribs. This was a bit different from other galbijjim that I've had. On the soupier side but the broth was tasty and slighty sweet. The meat was super tender and absorbed a lot of the flavors from the broth. Again, a very comforting dish especially on a cold day. Nothing beats yummy Korean dishes with a side of hot rice. This spot really surprised and won us over. They're definitely contending for the best Korean place we've been in OR. We shall be back!"
"You can definitely become overwhelmed by this menu, they have everything from teriyaki to pad Thai to udon. Thankfully they have a ton of photos plastered all over the place so you can see what your food will look like. They used to offer egg drop soup complimentary for those who dined in but they've done away with that. The chicken yakisoba was a huge plate of with a side of rice. I enjoyed it a bit better once I added some hot sauce. General Tao and chicken teriyaki was also very good. Serviced with rice and a side salad. The service was really fast, but the place wasn't very busy when we were there for lunch."
"This is a pretty decent teriyaki place. It is conveniently located in the same plaza as Hmart! I came on a Monday morning for lunch and the restaurant was pretty empty. The food was decent. The woman who was our server and cashier was so friendly!"
"Jajang was great here. Ate with my cousin. It was amazingHowever 5 months later menu and servers changed and no more jajang and I looked like a crazy person for trying to order itDolsot bibimbop was great. So were the sides ( ban Chan). Bring back the jaja"
"The Local Asian Bistro is a new spot for us. A little out of the way but we wanted try some place different. No regrets!!! You might think all Asian/Thai places are the same. In particular we were looking for a place that accommodates vegetarians. They have a few dishes that are vegetarian and tasty. What I like most about the Local Asian Bistro is the vibe. The atmosphere was peaceful, clean and comfortable. Even though our order was to-go, next time I'll park and stay."
"Loved every dish we got here! Everything was made super fresh and came out piping hot. Was pleasantly surprised at how not oily their food was either, eventhough most of them was fried or stir-fried. The flavors were also well-balanced, not overly salty. Portion was great for sharing as well.Noodles ans dumplings are homemade and you can taste it. Really vouche for their pork dumplings, thin wrapper and juicy filling. Jajangmyeon also really hit the spot with the smoky wok taste and fresh seafood. The best dish still went to the Peking Style Sweet & Sour Pork, ask for the sauce on the side so you can have crispy tender pork throughout the whole meal!Really fell in love with this place. Super casual and homey ambience inside. One lady sort of served everyone; she's very kind. Service was fast.We will return!"
"We ordered at a kiosk that had pictures of all the menu items , man seemed friendly! Food was fast and girl lemme tell you the amount of food we got was insane!!! The photo attached is what was LEFT . It's now my dinner for later lol . The portions were huge AND it was very delicious! The salad was crazy good ! Everything was great !!! Thank you !"
"I was excited to see Bonchon here on the west coast. This pIace is legit for serving Korean Chicken Wings. The provide either a garlic soy or spicy gochugang glaze. We chose the half and half batch of wings. The double fry on the chicken wings made them so crispy! They cooked them just right so the meat was still juicy and piping hot. The glazes were a perfect mix of mild and spicy. They also give you a small container of daikon radish to serve as a pallet cleanser if you moved between the different flavors of wings."
"I don't know why it took so long for us to try FOMO. It's been out list forever. We met some people at a Yelp event who highly recommended it, so we finally decided to give it a go. The person who answered the phone was incredibly nice! Very easy to order. We ordered two pounds of chicken: one of each flavor. The pieces were massive, with plenty of meat. They were hot and covered in sauce. So many places skimp on the sauce, but FOMO did not disappoint. The chicken pieces were good... no gross stringy pieces. They were huge too! I could only have a few pieces before I was super full. The flavors were excellent. For once, I think I liked the soy garlic better than the spicy one. I'm a massive spicy fan, but the soy garlic was amazing! We'd definitely come back!"
"Get your Korean-Chinese food fix here! But be warned: you might get sticker shock at some of the prices.I have been craving Jjajang myun (black bean paste noodles) and saw that this is the place to get it. We ordered your typical trifecta (also our waitress said that's what everyone orders haha) Regular jjajang myun, seafood jjambong (seafood noodle soup) and pork tangsooyuk (fried pork with sweet and sour dipping sauce) I will say that the food is really good and authentic here (given by the people we saw eating here while we were here) The noodles were chewy and flavorful, seafood stew with just the right amount of spiciness and plenty of seafood, plus the fried pork was freshly fried and crispy - ready to dip into the sticky sauce full of veggies. The service was quick and friendly and it was cool to see actual flames in the kitchen behind when they were cooking up the dishes. The inside decor, tables and chairs, the removal dividers seemed simple if not a bit outdated. I really was impressed by the food and we all really enjoyed our meal. However I do think the price tag (even given the portions) is a little steep for certain dishes - $35 for the seafood noodle soup? Not great. But with that said, I do recommend coming here if you get a craving for Korean-Chinese food. Please give them a chance!"
"Man I love me some Korean Fried Chicken (the OG KFC), and I think I've finally found the best spicy wings in portland. For me it's mostly a to go joint bc they only have a couple small tables inside and no beer which is key, how can you have chicken wings without beer? Especially if you're getting the spicy then it's a necessity. Also, the hot & spicy here is seriously spicy, it usually takes me more than an hour to eat 10 wings since I need a bathroom break to blow my nose/breathe between each wing. But I keep coming back for them and I don't often order the same thing multiple times even if I enjoyed it as I like trying something new each time. You have the choice of either traditional or crispy wings, choose crispy for sure (which is traditional for me). Also have tried their duckbokki (spicy Rice Cakes) which was very good, served with ramen noodles so I guess it's actually rabokki (Ramen duckbokki). It was garnished with some fresh greens that gave some extra crunch and freshness to the dish. All in all, my favorite KFC spot in the city so far. It also delivers really well, the boxes have vent holes cut so the chicken doesn't get soggy but still stays hot. Now if they just got beer, they would be the undisputed champions."
"Well... all I can say is wow do I miss my go to place "Taste of Sichuan" in Beaverton! They had a fire a few months back and we are struggling to find anything even remotely good. (We went at least once every week or so) I wish I had good things to say about Sir Crazy Kitchen. For the price of Stir Crazy Kitchen the amount of food was a joke! The flavor was lackluster and bland as all get-out! That should summarize my visit."
"Came here on a Tuesday afternoon before their closing for lunch break. It was quick service and quiet and friendly as well. It was perfect for us after hectic afternoon and just wanted to dine in peace and quietness with a newborn too Ordered their dolsot bibimbap so good. Stone pot mixed rice with veggies and beef. Sizzling hot! With fried egg on top, perfect! They didn't have seaweed to give to customer but still offered me the ones they would eat themselves so I could wrap it with the rice in it.Cannot go wrong with traditional sullungtang on a chilly day, so try mixed meats of tripe and tendon. Silky broth that warms your soulAnd spicy galbitang, sooo seasoned and an abundance of flavor! Soup was perfect amount of spicy and goes so well with rice.10/10 korean comfort food place and they've expanded their menu with even more soups!!! Just want to order everything there!"
"Tasty Korean food cart in the Cartside food pod on Williams. It's tucked in the back so easy to miss. They have a lot of Korean street food classics like kimbab, Duckbokki, corn dogs and such, even sikhye (sweet Korean rice drink). But what caught my attention was the Soondubu (soft tofu soup). While it was not the best I've had, it was still great for a food truck. Very reasonably priced at $14 too. Btw, if you are expecting it to be vegetarian, there is some beef and a tiny bit of some seafood. I wished they had it with the boiled raw egg but I get it since they're mostly to go.The food pod is pretty nice to sit and eat as well. It is attached to a bar and there is plenty of seating, and even an upstairs deck too."
"Was craving kbbq while in Portland and opted for K-Town BBQ as it was one of the few options open during the day and time we were around. We showed up as a walk in for a group of 3. The experience started mid for us as the restaurant only had a few patrons dining, yet we waiting about 7 min before anyone even greeted us. No acknowledgement upon entering, no acknowledgement as someone walked past us. We just were kept standing there and I was about ready to leave. Finally we were greeted and brought to a booth style table. The menu is offered all you can eat style during which you can order 4 selections of meat at the same time before ordering the next round. Meats that we ordered included:- LA galbi : our favorite- bulgogi: very solid with great flavor- spicy bulgogi - same as the above bulgogi with a little heat- beef brisket: meat was very tough and we did not enjoy it- pork belly: solid, decent flavor, not too tough- melona soju cocktail: a bit too sweet for me but my partner enjoyed it - banchan: not great but not bad; decent"
"hit this place up on our bicycle food tour.we were pretty stuffed already;however, we really enjoyed the food even still.they have a few food carts here to choose, but if you're in the mood for some legit bulgogi, well, then, stop on by and get some.asian/hawaiian fusion is on point.loved this place!"
