"Stop here for lunch and ordered whatever was recommended! I got the Meat Grand Mezza platter which included marinated chicken shawarma and ground beef skewers, that came with basmati rice, rolled meat grape leaves (dolma), falafel, hummus, tabouleh, and tahini sauce. This really gives you a taste of everything so I would highly recommend getting this if you can't decide what to order. The dolmas were a bit liquidy for my liking but the basmati rice was very fragrant and buttery which I loved! Next I got Baba Ghanouj which is one of my favorite dishes! It's a creamy roasted eggplant spread with garlic, lemon juice, salt/pepper, drizzled with olive oil and served with pita bread. I also got the shawarma pizza which was something I've never heard of before! The flavors and toppings really came together to create an amazing Mediterranean fusion dish! We ended our meal with some Turkish coffee and an amazing Peanut Butter and Chocolate ice cream cake served with a homemade raspberry sauce that served as the perfect end to our meal. It wasn't too sweet and the coffee paired really well with ice cream cake dessert."
"Been wanting to try this place for awhile and was in the area one day and finally stopped by! Smallish cafe with mainly outdoor seating. Ordered one regular snail and 5 small ones (both same price). They were delicious and not as heavy and sweet like your typical Cinnabon ones. They drizzle the purple vanilla icing on top of each one which is sooo cute. My mom loved as well. The mini snails were cute but I feel you get more with the normal sized one so will probably get that next time. They have punch cards available and lots of street parking!"

"Even for Portlanders, this is unique & unusual.A vibe inside on its own, heavily decorated in their own style. A layout fit for late nite. The bartender who is very musically talented will hype up a busy night on the karaoke microphone or passionately sing to a single table in an empty house. That in itself shows the love in ownership & music. 48 hour bone broth, fresh ingredients, no MSG, a variety of tasty Asian cuisine.Their website says it all."
"Great quick & casual lunch spot located in the back of the Moxy hotel. You order on a touch screen and receive a text when the food is ready. Ambiance of the hotel is great with good music, a bar, and indoor seating. We ordered the adobo chicken which was sooo tasty and filling. The chicken was well seasoned and fell right off the bone. It was delicious and plenty of food for two of us to split."
"Once again, Jackpot Bistro was a hit!Sam was amazing doing double roles as bartender and chef. He even made a delicious dessert shooter to top off a delicious lunch."
"5 stars for the black bean hummus, 3 stars for the kale Caesar. I just expected the Caesar to be a bit "caesar-y" .. however, i want this black bean hummus every day of my life. Everything was fresh and would definitely try more salads"
"After having lived in Portland for such a long time, I'm just amazed how I have never visited this place or maybe I do know --because it's not as authentic as I prefer my Indian food to be. The restaurant is located at a very good location and many years ago even used to be one of the popular Indian restaurants in the city, I believe that's not the case anymore. We made reservations 30 minutes before we arrived, but the place was almost 70% occupied and the bar area was totally empty but the staff had made it seem like the place was overflowing with people and pushed us really hard to reserve stating that they are jampacked that evening . Its worse since they were closing soon as well and they failed to mention that when we were reserving . The establishment is huge, but the decor is very dated. It feels like you're suddenly 20 years back in time with the dull walls and old school restaurant music. We were seated at one of those bigger nice booths and the seating was comfortable. Our drinks and appetizers arrived quickly, but we were informed that the restaurant closes at 10 PM, leaving us with less time to enjoy our meal. The food was a mix of highs and lows: the Malai Tikka was delicious, but the potato curry was below mediocre. The portions were generous, and most items on the menu are shareable, which is a plus for trying different dishes. The staff was alright, but I didn't personally like the fact that they kept pushing us to order soon. I believe they could have let us know when we made a reservation that they were closing early and there wouldn't be enough time to sit and eat properly. This would have made us either arrive sooner or we would have probably chosen a different place especially since we were meeting friends and would have preferred to spend some more time . Parking is hard specially with the downtown situation and break-ins . I didn't particularly feel safe parking my car nearby but had very less choices."
"A cool little spot in the St John's area for some vegan tacos and snacks. We tried one of the Chipotle Salad Bowls and the BBQ Maple tacos which used jackfruit. The "meat" was very tender and the sauce was delightfully tangy. The salad portion was enormous, easily 2 meals. We were to full to fry some of the Jerry's dirty potatoes which I smelled/saw her cooking when we came in so that's on the list for next time. The inside is pretty small and cozy, a few tables to sit at by the order counter. But they have a large patio out back with a bunch of covered seating and a couple jenga games, tots for kids and even a cornhole set so also just a good place to hangout with some margaritas or some of their other drinks."
"Absolutely incredible Burmese food, amongst the best I've ever had. My highest recommendation. I stopped in for lunch with a friend, and we shared three dishes. Ordering is done at the counter, and staff bring the food out shortly thereafter. We ordered:-Lahpet Thoke ($14; prepared vegan by omitting the fish sauce) -- this is the classic Burmese fermented tea leaf salad. Their execution of it was top-notch, with fantastic textures from the deep fried fava beans, pulses, crunchy cabbage, crushed peanuts, fried onions, tomato, and of course the tea leaves, and dressed with a nicely acidic dressing. Phenomenal stuff.-Shan Tofu ($11) -- this is the classic Burmese chickpea tofu dish, though this particular version of the dish was quite different: very creative and impeccably prepared. You get thin slices of chickpea tofu, topped with crushed peanuts, shredded cabbage, and other stuff, accompanied by a somewhat rich, tangy, oily, somewhat sweet dressing. This was incredible.-Tofu Nway ($16) -- this was the most unusual dish we ordered. The dish is centred around rice noodles and cooked with a chickpea tofu sauce -- I had never seen tofu used this way. Coming with it is mustard greens, a couple dal fritters, and various garnishes. Brilliant combination of flavours and textures once again.Friendly, quick service, reasonably priced, very generous portions. I can't praise the food enough. Don't miss this when in PDX."
"Such a cute place with delicious food and warm, friendly staff! We stopped in for lunch around 12:30 on a Saturday. We opted to sit outside on their gorgeous patio. They have sails across the top, making for a nice amount of shade. Our only gripe was the air handler out on the patio...it was blowing warm air and made some weird noises. It needs some sort of vertical ventilation system or an encasement around it. It wasn't bothersome enough not to return, just a little annoying. Our server, Ashlyn H, was wonderful! She was so friendly, smiley, and attentive. She had a wonderful personality. We haven't found that much when dining out lately. It's sad because I don't think some servers realize how much their service can make or break the dining out experience. Props to Ashlyn! We ordered the Caesar salad ($12) with steak bites ($15), grilled cod tacos ($12 for 2 tacos), GOW IPA ($7 for pint) and the triple chocolate cake ($10) with a scoop of Tillamook vanilla ice cream ($3). Everything was delicious! Loved the Caesar dressing, and the steak bites were cooked perfectly. My husband thought they lacked grill marks, but the flavor was there. He enjoyed his fish tacos. He liked the cajun seasoning on the cod. We both devoured the triple chocolate cake with whipped cream, ice cream, and sliced strawberries...so yummy!Overall, we really enjoyed our time here. The service, food, and atmosphere will definitely entice a return visit. Would highly recommend!"
"I've been to Mirisata a few times. Usually with a group of people, and I wasn't sure what to order, and the food didn't really wow me.Fast forward to today. Curry and rice had been my comfort food in the past. Lately, I've been in the mood for salads. Mirisata did not have a salad. But, the woman at the counter was very helpful with helping me pick something out. I got the Black "pork" curry with a side of rice. It was so good! Really good flavor with a slight kick. Generous portion, I took half home. I got the mango iced tea, which was good to bring the heat down a little. I liked the water cooler next to the counter. The weather was really nice, and many people sat in the outdoor dining area. I opted to sit indoors. It was really clean, and the chairs were padded, which I appreciated."

We came here for happy hour on our anniversary. We order a sampler, the cauliflower, and both kinds of kabobs, plus beer for me and a gin martini for her.Everything was great with a few exceptions; the chicken kabob was breast meat and a bit chewy. My date's martini wasn't very flavorful, but it was good.Food was served quickly, and they came by to check on us. Overall, recommended and we'll return. And the neighborhood is fine.

Wow!!!! We had such an amazingly delicious meal here today! The place is super cute. Service was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. And everything is gluten free, and very veg/vegan friendly. We started with the tofu egg rolls, then had the pan fried rice with shrimp and the vermicelli salad bowl with tofu. And everything was SO tasty!!! You choose your spice heat level, but even level five isn't too spicy. Thursday nights they have fun, live music and (later) karaoke. This is a hidden gem. They do dine in and carry out. It's super fun and we will absolutely come back the next time we're in town.

One word: BANGIN! Came here by myself for brunch, and it didn't disappoint. The bowl is filled with flavor, it's pretty good for you, and it's very filling. I ordered this to-go and my order was ready super quick. I would say the service is pretty spot on. It's located in a food hall kind of set up so the restaurant itself isn't quite large. Be mindful of seating if you plan on coming here. All it all, I'd definitely come back.

This is a nice spot for a quick burger, and if Mike's working it will come out absolutely perfect! I split the Kobe burger with my partner and we asked for medium rare and he delivered! Plus they have my favorite Cider Boys Strawberry cider in a bottle. They also serve their own version of Poutine and the black pepper gravy is a tasty touch.Great for a quick bite, just wish they still had the artichoke dip!

So my partner is Celiac and cannot tolerate gluten in any way, shape, or form. So Indian food works really well for her, as most Indian dishes can be prepared gluten free. After an afternoon watching the Portland Thorns play the Kansas City Current (Thorns won, 3-0, go Thorns!), we made a side trip to the East India Company restaurant before heading home. The entry is one long bar, and is very elegant. We approached the hostess, who asked if we had reservations. We did not, but she said she could make something work if we were willing to wait. We were and she was wonderful about letting us know what was going on.When we got to the main dining area, the ambiance was fantastic. A gorgeous sculpture hangs overhead and the tables are dark and romantic. The smell is of wonderful curry and there is a sense that every table is separate from every other table, giving you a sense of privacy, even if someone is sitting next to you.My partner is in love with the Machli Ka Tikka, a salmon curry that she just dies for. Our server suggested to her that it would be four pieces of fish, so she might want to go for another dish. That being said, she also went with a Murg Tikka, a chicken in yogurt and saffron. I don't like fish, but I love chicken, and I found it to be amazing. I would also note that the pieces of salmon that were served to us were HUGE! Huge enough that, along with some bits of the Murg Tikka and my own dish, my partner basically took most of the chicken home.I was going to go for the chicken vindaloo, myself, but that's not able to be prepared gluten free at East India Co. As part of us going out on date night and making events of the evenings we get to ourselves, I try my best to eat gluten free myself so that we can share dishes. Therefore, I went with the chicken Makhani, basically butter chicken. For spice, I asked for it to be as spicy as possible. Not "I say I like spicy but I think ketchup is spicy," but "spicy like I like it hot" spicy. The waitress said she absolutely understood. The sauce, chicken, and rice under it were wonderful. Rich and thick, and hot, though not debilitatingly hot. The butter and cream in the sauce are going to tone down a lot of those spices, so it was middling hot to both our pallets, at best. Still, it was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening, along with some nice glasses of wine, and pleasant conversation and company. Next time we get out to a Thorns game, we'll definitely make reservations, but this is one of our go-to restaurants now.

Fun and Funky Feel Good Food! This place was the perfect ending to a fun day! We started with some mini-golf at Wonderwood, which was super cute, but the food options weren't quite what we were craving. Luckily, we found this gem a little further down the road.Groovy Vibes and Delicious Vegan EatsThe atmosphere here is awesome! It lives up to its quote on the wall "Feel Good Food" from the moment you walk in. Brightly colored flowers adorn the walls, and the whole vibe is cheerful and inviting. Plus, everything on the menu is vegan! They even have their own signature "cauliflower meat" instead of processed alternatives. I've used cauliflower in tons of dishes, but never thought to make "meat" out of it - such a creative idea!Dishes to TryWe started with the queso and then had the nachos. Both were amazing, but next time I might choose a different main course since it was a lot of chips (delicious chips, though!).Cozy Patio SeatingIt was a chilly day when we visited, and the indoor seating was a bit limited. Thankfully, they had a great enclosed patio with plenty of heat lamps to keep us warm and comfortable.Overall ImpressionThis place is a great find for delicious vegan food in a fun and funky atmosphere. I highly recommend checking it out!

"Farm to table style fresh and delicious. A very hardy brunch. I love the Wagyu Barbacoa enchiladas with avocado fried egg, avocado and veggies covered with coconut poblano and spicy adobe sauce. It's awesome. I subbed out the pork for the Wagyu so you may not see my dish on the menu? the server in the chef can handle whatever you wanna throw at them they will take care of you. And it's pleasant seating inside and outside."
"I came here one evening with my boyfriend and had an amazing time. We walked in at an earlier dinner spot and were fortunately able to grab a table. I recommend reservations if you're planning to grab dinner here around 6-7pm as it can get pretty busy. The inside can feel a bit packed but there's plenty of seating. The lighting is dim and decor is nice.My boyfriend and I ordered the calamari, elote, fried oysters, and adobo branzino and everything was delicious. The calamari was crispy and the sauce complimented it so well. The elote was a bit on the burnt side for my taste, but it was also still good. The fried oysters were also fried to perfection and amazing. And, the adobo branzino was so filling with a phenomenal blend of flavors. My boyfriend and I rarely go out to Mexican restaurants but I could see this becoming a favorite. I highly recommend this spot !!"
"I would highly recommend this restaurant! We searched for a yummy place near Vancouver waterfront and this place popped up on yelp. It was way more crowded than expected - took about 45 minutes to get seated, but our schedule allowed us to wait so we didn't mind.We ended up ordering a bunch of different dishes - crispy fried tofu sticks with yummy peanut butter sauce, deep fried potstickers, lemon grass chicken bahn mi (good, but even better with the peanut butter sauce from the tofu appetizer, the pad sew ew with tofu and the popular chicken noodle curry soup. The curry soup was delicious, and filled with vegetables and chicken; after enjoying the noodles, I added a bit of rice to make a second dish! We added some spicy chili oil to the soup and noodles and the dishes had an even brighter flavor! We parked across the street at the parking garage and paid $4 for 2 hour parking. (They didn't offer validated parking)."
"Used to be a go-to every week.Used to be portions that would stuff your belly.Used to be cheaper than a food truck. Now outrageously expensive. $100 lunch for two?Now petite portions that made you say what?Parking has always been horrible at the original Grand location and worse now on Broadway. This was never a friendly smiley place but you looked past it for the value. Last time our food was thrown together in an unappetizing presentation and it took 40 minutes too long.Dining area needs a deep clean."
"A total delight! We have a friend who avoids meat, so Indian restaurants have become the most reliable places for everyone to be happy. Maruti's atmosphere and service topped off the experience, making for a delightful lunch. The Tikka Masala with paneer was every bit as good as I had been led to believe. Naan, Daal Tadka and a Biryani rounded out our family style feast.Iced Chais and a Mango Lassi made excellent accompaniments to the food.Maruti is located on a stretch of Hawthorne where street parking is easier than it is in the 30's, yet another reason to look forward to returning here."
"Always so delicious. No matter what time of day I stop in, they always have something I can eat and enjoy. I'm enjoying every bite of my favorite treat the Cookie Monster Babycake, that I stopped in and got this afternoon, right now!! mmmm Thanks for always giving this dairy free nut allergy person such great treat options. I also want to add that the people in the cafe work very hard and have always answered any random questions I've had for them :)"
"I absolutely love Vietnamese food. I enjoy learning about the subtle differences between regional dishes, and often find restauranteurs in Portland are open to sharing knowledge of their cuisine me. I was recently excited to learn that in relation to pho, soup from the north features a more refined, clear broth with minimal toppings. And soup from the south has a richer, sweeter broth with a wider variety of herbs and garnishes. The history of the dish is really fascinating, and most definitely warrants additional study. I've learned that pho originated in northern Vietnam, in Hanoi. And as families fled northern Vietnam in the 1950s, regional variations of the dish emerged based on availability of local ingredients and tastes. Armed with this knowledge, when I discovered Hanoi Kitchen is one of the few restaurants to feature Northern Vietnamese dishes in Portland, I jumped at the chance to check it out. Hanoi Kitchen has the appearance of being a family restaurant. It's a large, open space with lots of plants and the most gorgeous wood floors I've ever seen. It's a beautiful space filled with art, and has plenty of seating for lots and lots of people. A friendly woman named Kim runs the place, taking orders, making the food, and cleaning up! Her dedication to this restaurant and the community is impressive. And it's clear she's made an impact on the customers she serves. The wall behind the counter is plastered with postcards, letters, wedding invitations and funeral announcements from the friends and family she's served over the years. I love this sense of community as it show's Kim's heart is in both her work and the food she serves. Hanoi Kitchen claims they don't use MSG in the food they prepare, and all of the ingredients appear to be fresh and healthy - in fact, Kim even brings eggs to the restaurant from her own chickens! You can buy organic farm eggs for $5 a dozen! Everything about this restaurant indicates familial, homestyle cooking which is something I strive for these days. I love supporting restaurants and businesses who are invested in the communities they serve."
"Such a great place for a snack or a meal! My sis picked up a Vietnamese iced coffee for that afternoon sweet tooth kick and I had to get in on that action. I ended up with some summer rolls too which were a nice big size. Their Bahn mi prices looked great and love the side of pho broth it comes with it. Next time I'm hungry I'm coming here first for Vietnamese cravings"
"We last visited Thai Pasta a few years ago. There is an over abundance of Thai restaurants in this area. So unless a restaurant is a favorite, it might be a while before it pops up in the rotation again. I remember liking the food here. Today the weather is approaching 90° so I decided to order delivery. The food was delayed several times. Maybe everyone else had the same idea. When the food finally arrived, the bag was missing one entree. The attached receipt showed our correct order. The bag was tied closed so it seems the restaurant shorted us one item. The food that we did receive was tasty. Our delivery service is great about correcting problems. But when you look forward to enjoying a meal that never materializes it makes you not wanna revisit a place.***After the restaurant owner reached out to us we found out that the restaurant did not make a mistake. The restaurant thinks the delivery driver may have taken our food. The restaurant viewed video of our bag being prepared with all three items. They feel that the driver opened our bag and took one item then tied the bag again. We received excellent communication and customer service from the restaurant so I have updated my review to reflect this. ***"
"This is a neighborhood spot for me, and I've been coming here since the place opened way back in the olden days. It's been consistently great. It's probably my favorite Thai place in Portland, despite the fact that it's in walking distance to me. Like many Thai restaurants its in an old house, with cozy seating, but it also has an outside deck area which is great in summer. They once has a bar at street level as well, and consequently had quite a cocktail menu. Of course under COVID conditions the place is all about the take out and the delivery. You can order beer, but I cocktails? Not so much. My personal favorite dish here is the Pad Kee Mao, which I get really hot. Their traditional Thai curries (Green, Red, Masaman) are all delicious as well. Their fresh salad rolls with peanut sauce also never fail to please."
"Tada Sushi is a great addition to the Lake Oswego area! The owners were friendly and our server was outgoing and responsive to us. The ambiance is lively so it gave off the vibes of a great spot for celebrations or special occasions. We ordered quite a few items but the highlights were the Spicy Tuna Rice Cake, Hamachi Carpaccio, and Sashimi Platter Premium. All the fish was so fresh and great quality. I really liked the wasabi sauce that accompanied the sashimi platter, it elevated the flavors of the fish. Highly recommend for a delicious night out!"
"Simple healthy meal created quickly by nice people! What more do you need? Not sure what the sauce is (I could look it up I suppose) but it's delicious."
"I really enjoyed my lunch at Jade! Nestled in a cute neighborhood, Jade has many different options whether you eat meat, are gluten free, or vegetarian. I ordered the vermicelli salad bowl which was really tasty! The staff were friendly and it was easy to order at the counter and find a seat. I wish I had taken some pastries to go but I'll definitely do that next time. I really appreciated how fresh everything was in my salad and everything on the menu looked so good. I came in at 11:30 which was nice and calm but by 12ish it was packed! I'll definitely be back again!"
"Amazing, nuanced Middle Eastern food in a gorgeous setting. I went with a group and it was a hit. We shared the adis soup (lentils curry soup), veggie platter and kebob platter with beef kebob. The beef kabob was rich and flavorful, and some of the best I've tried. The grape leaf dolma and onion dolma were both distinctive, and loved how it didn't copy the usual format of stuffed grape leaves. Especially the onion dolma, which I've never had before and had such a rich, tomato-y sauce. The service was super friendly, and ambiance and decor really transports you. Especially with the gorgeous, giant murals. A must-try when in Portland."
"I was NOT expecting this place to be as good as it was, but as I sit here in my post-meal food coma, I'm happy I stopped by for a late lunch.I had their Khao Soi and it was delicious! The broth was so full of flavor, and then the bowl was overflowing with fresh ingredients, from the chunks of white chicken meat to the egg noodles and veggies.Bonus points for providing such a massive serving, I couldn't make it more than 2/3 of the way through my meal, and I was STARVING when I arrived.Great spot if you're hungry for quick, but still top notch Thai food at a decent price."
"Food Truck excellence! ... the Halibut Fish & Chips were perfect & exactly as advertised! The batter was light and the fish cooked to perfection and the fries were full length (not greasy and seasoned to death like other places do)! The food truck experience was unexpected yet fun as this location is a small enclave of various culinary genre.the service was excellent as well... I tipped cash AFTER eating--because of the plesant experience."
