"I DO reccomend Sammich. On a recent trip to PDX, I was a part of a takeout order of Sammiches taken to a concert in the park for dinner and, a few days later, checked out the Sammich food truck. My first Sammich was a turkey with cranberry with their signature shredded lettuce et al. It was a solid sandwich, packed and tasty. I particularly liked the thick cut and generosity of the turkey slices. The second time, I just had a taste of the porkstrami Sammich, which was VERY good. Would definitely order that one in the future.Their sandwiches also come with a local bag of chips, SOLID!!"
"Frankly, Aunt Tillie's never disappoints. This time I went for the Aunt Tillie's Special sandwich on brown rye. It was loaded with fresh slices of salami, turkey and pepperoni, as well as pepperoncini and other delightful fixings. The sandwich is usually served on a French Roll. I just prefer rye. The Special has just the right amount of meat and spread. Enough to fill you up, without making you feel miserable, or making a big mess. Aunt Tillie's ingredients always seem so fresh and, they are always delicious. Often, I get a side of the macaroni salad, which is my absolute favorite. The staff are always very friendly and clearly care about producing a top-quality product. Aunt Tillie's is somewhat nostalgic, as it an old-fashioned sandwich cafe, with a very pleasant atmosphere. And, although I don't drink beer, they have a respectable tap list and nice little bar area.Thank you, Aunt Tillies, for always delivering a premium sandwich experience."
"I'm stingy with 5-Stars, this earns more like 4.5, but heck, let's round up.Winner, Winner on taste and price, i.e., value. The first item is usually the most popular and that applies here: the pan fried rice cakes were excellent? The salted fish and chicken fried rice is one of the best versions I've tried. For certain, it's tops in Portland. The complementary tea was above average, while the iced limeade was oh so refreshing.Service was friendly and fast. Prices are more than fair. Ambiance is so-so as it seems like the seating layout could be improved to allow for more customers. Parking can be tough during peak hours. Lastly, they close way too early for an Asian restaurant, especially a popular tone."
"Are turkeys big chickens or small ostriches? That is what I want to know! Fortunately our first arrivers to the Americas figured out they are good eating! Just a note, ostrich is very tasty, more like beef tenderloin than chicken. Turkey-centered restaurants range from the famous Fry's Turkey Ranch https://www.yelp.com/biz/fry-brothers-turkey-ranch-trout-run-2 to one or two left from Portland's pre-foodie era.The Turkey Place is in the ground floor retail space of the City motor pool garage. It goes for functional over fancy, and taste over trends, you are not going to find food towers, or sauce squiggles. The price is very reasonable.I had the turkey meal. It was sized right. The star is the gravy. It is very tasty. This is a small family-run restaurant for eat-in or carry-out I'm glad to support in our time of vacant office buildings downtown. Did I say tasty? Yes I did!"

Sammich offers a wide variety of sandwiches to try. I've been here a handful of times over the years and always try a new one when I eat here. They are all very solid choices. They make their own meats in house so you're paying a lot for that and the quality. The Pastrami Zombie is melt in your mouth delicious. It's hard to describe how the flavors all work together and it's just so good. Their other sandwiches are great as well.Expect to pay somewhere between $14 and $17 for one. It does come with a big of chips. It's not the cheapest offering, but it's also not a boiler cut sandwich shop either.

Several years ago, when I first moved into the neighborhood, I accidentally stumbled upon Aunt Tillie's as I was wandering around aimlessly. Located in the Hollywood 42nd Street Station, Aunt Tillie's is tucked away from the outside world, but my curiosity led me to explore. The Hollywood Station itself is quite an experience with a postal station, salon and barber shop, antique store, and a Himalayan gifts store...But enough about the mall, I had come for the food! Checkered tiles outside lead into the deli where there are several tables, a small bar, and an area to play Video Poker if that interests you. The menu offers a variety of sandwiches, salads, and soups. You can also pick up a bag of chips, order a side of potato salad, and get refreshments from a refrigerator. On my various visits, I have tried the Tillie's Tickler which has ham, turkey, pepper Jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, mayonnaise, and vinaigrette, the Tuna Melt, the Egg Salad Sandwich which is not currently on the menu, but still a delicious option, and the Tillie's Vegetarian. I cannot really pick a favorite since all of the sandwiches I have tried have been delicious! The service is also friendly and quick which makes Tillie's a great place to visit. FYI, they aren't open on the weekends, which is a bummer, because I would love to buy some sandwiches for a weekend picnic. Give Aunt Tillie's a try! You won't be disappointed!

I enjoyed a great lunch with a friend at Jin Jin Deli. As other Yelpers have noted, there are 10 tables so you may need to wait to dine. My friend and I got lucky and got seated right away. The shopping center has a limited amount of parking. We got lucky with the parking as well. We got spring rolls, kimchi fried rice clay pot with beef, and the special spicy dry tossed noodle with egg noodles. The food was ready quickly. The spring rolls were tasty. The fried rice was fantastic. I loved the crispy rice at the bottom of the pot and it was so flavorful. The noodles came with some sauce to pour over. They were delicious and had a good amount of meat in them. They weren't very spicy but that was okay. Overall, I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant and I could see it being a great take out spot as well.

Went with a simple turkey sando.Everything was delicious. Simple and to the point. Old school sandwich spot with that vintage flair. Not many places exist like this in Portland. Make sure you stop by and enjoy one of those delicious sandwiches.

They were around the corner from my hotel and it was rainy so I walked over here to order one of the combo options that came with a gyro, side salad, and fries.Good price for the amount of food! And it wasn't heavy or greasy. Just the right amount. And tasty!I didn't wait long for my food either. Maybe 5 minutes. The staff was really nice too! It's a small space. A handful of tables. But it likely serves a lot of the workers downtown.

"Very busy restaurant near the river downtown Portland. I got the shrimp burrito and it was very filling and good. It came with a small salad. You walk in, try not to get confused by the gathering waiting to get their food to go and order at the counter, then seat yourself. Everyone was friendly. Reasonable prices."
"Woodstock Wine and Deli is always a great go to for wines. Gregg is really knowledgeable and offers wonderful deals. He also has fantastic weekend smoked meat meals as well. Yumm!"
"Part of Portland's Elephants chain, Flying Elephants is a smaller outpost located amongst the OHSU complex at the South Waterfront. Since I walk the Tilikum Bridge almost daily, I am a huge fan of this particular location because they offer the same delicious food and for me, it's super convenient. For the first 14 months of Covid they were closed so I was thrilled when they reopened in July 2021. While this location Is small, they offer all the popular standards. In the take out refrigerator area, you will find their awesome chicken Cesar salad. Yes, it's easy to make but when you are out and about and want a healthy and satisfying meal, this hits the spot! The lettuce is crisp, the chicken breast moist and flavorful, and the homemade croutons and dressing are both delicious. In the take out area there are several types of salads like the PNW salad made of baby greens, dried cranberries and walnuts with a raspberry vinaigrette. And several grain salads. Also premade sandwiches: egg salad, tuna, ham & cheese on a baguette to name a few. The hot food counter has their amazing mac & cheese with cavatappi pasta, their addictive chicken enchiladas, fresh made pizza, and comforting soups. They freshly grill sandwiches, burgers and breakfast items too. Lots of baked goods - scones, cookies, muffins, brownies, baguettes - that are baked daily at Elephants Central Kitchen located in SE Portland. This ensures consistent flavor and quality across all locations. Along the counter and in impulse areas are 4 & 8oz bags of high-end candies that are challenging to pass up. Everything is tantalizing!Flying Elephants hasHappy Hour from 3-6pm Mondays through Friday. I like to plan a late afternoon walk then stop here for a glass of wine and snack for dinner, sitting outside taking in the gorgeous view. Beer, hard cider and cocktails are also available. Located next to Starbucks at the SW Moody MAX Station, this outpost is convenient for all those commuting to this area. Easy to pick up dinner, snacks and a bottle of wine to go. As with all Elephants, prices are on the higher side but the quality is equally high. I continue to support them as I have never been disappointed; quite the opposite, I love everything I've purchased from Elephants and want the chain, and particularly this location, to stay in business."
"Fun little Deli!I usually visit here for lunch while working. They have a great to go menu with reasonable pricing. The couple that run this place are very friendly and treat their customers well. The interior is clean and well organized. They have a decent sized menut consisting of some teriyaki items and also sandwiches.Parking is in the front and side of the building. I generally opt for to go orders since since I normally take a shorter lunch. I generally opt for the chicken teriyaki or their grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch. The food is made to order so you always get fresh food that is warm and inviting."
"I visited Riverwalk Cafe several times during my stay in the south waterfront. It was a short, easy walk from the Residence Inn and had way better breakfast options. The Breakfast Burrito is packed with the goods and was so filling. The chicken apple sausage is great! I highly recommend! Also, the Chocolate Chip Pancakes are wonderful! Mine were generously loaded with chips. The prices are incredibly reasonable for the city! Wonderful location as well, the river is gorgeous to admire on a sunny day. Service was friendly every time. I totally recommend!"
"cute little unassuming spot next to the Arco fuel station and an Intimate Modeling shop.Same owner as Korner Pocket had heard about it from some golfing friends. I entered and it seemed like a clean, convenience store with a bar and lottery machines. But it is a Deli/Bar, not a store. The lady behind the counter was kind, asked for my ID straightaway. They serve bottled beer and have spirits on hand, I didn't see wine.I had a couple of Sierra Nevada Pale Ales. Not too much activity here today. Chatted with patron next to me. Cute older fella with some good stories.I didn't eat the food, but they seem like they'd take great care in preparing it for you. Clean, great decorations, pictures on wall, TVs, small parking lot, or park on street. Open at 7am, small, intimate, FULL BAR."
"We arrived on a Thursday late morning for a sammy. Service was very friendly and helpful. We got the giant Super Sub, "Mike's way" including the pepper relish. It was great, fresh and far more than we could eat so we brought half the sammy home for later munching."
