"Food cart in the asylum food cart. Excellent Bibimbop. Mine included japchae noodles like my mom does. The sauce is added so if you don't like spicy then tell them before. It was perfect for me once mixed. Also got dukbokki and it was children approved. Lots of fish cake. Not stingy with the good stuff. We loved it."
"Discover the Aloha Spirit at David's HI K Shoots Grill in Portland! We recently hit up David's HI K Shoots Grill in The Zed for a graduation party, and let me tell you, this place is a hidden gem! Growing up in Hawaii, our standards for local food are high, so I was skeptical. But K Shoots Grill blew us away! The garlic chicken with gochujang aioli sauce? Absolutely ono (delicious)! And the Kalua pig? It took me straight back to the islands. I'm usually not a fan of mac salad, but Dave's version is on another level - I devoured my serving and went back for seconds. If you find yourself hungry in Portland, do yourself a favor and stop by K Shoots Grill. Trust me, you won't regret it. I'll definitely be back to kau kau (eat) soon!"

"Both of my favorite delis have gone away. So when I heard of this place and heard it was endorsed by my friend from the Midwest. I had to try it. I got the hot corned beef. I asked which was better and the lady said corned beef today because it is a fattier cut today. Well, that's darn good advice. The bread was really good but it was too soft for the sandwich. Perhaps toasted or grilled? But delicious rye bread. The meat was very tender and flavorful. Lots of it too. I've been looking for a sandwich like this for a while. Very friendly service. Definitely a spot I'll come back to."
"The ginthoke salad here was sooooOOOOOOooooo good. It's shocking to learn it's vegan. Not the ginger salad you might expect. It has that umami deliciousness from a fermentation type flavor. Huge portion size and absolutely delectable balance of acidic, salty, sweet, umami, and more. The texture is also perfect. Crunchy and fatty and smooth all at once. I am so sad to not able able to get it weekly, as I dont live in PDX. Would give my left but cheek for the recipe of the ginger (which imparts the best flavor)."
"We were looking for lunch options after the zoo and found Thai Peacock on Yelp. We were seated immediately. We got the Kaeng Panang curry with Chicken, Basil Fried Rice & Crispy Trout, and Pad Thai with Chicken. We loved all 3 items we got. The Basil fried rice with Crispy trout is such a unique item and we loved it (we also loved that there were no bones to deal with). I am not usually a fan of curry, but loved their Kaeng Panang curry, it also came with flavored rice that we loved. Each item was a good size for the price."
"I have stopped by Ezell's a few times in Oregon and Washington. I have always found the stores to be clean and the staff friendly. The spicy chicken is good: a little crunchy on the outside, moist on the inside and never an unpleasant greasy aftertaste. Also, the peach cobbler is pretty good."
"I am amazed at the proliferation of food carts the past few months on the 48th/50th Street blocks of Division, one of which is LeRoy's.Just two weeks ago I declared that Cheese Bar was my new go-to place in the neighborhood for sandwiches. That's still true, but now add LeRoy's as one of my favorite sandwich places.I was the first customer when Leroy's opened at noon today (open daily 12-7). I placed an order for a Beef Brisket BBQ sandwich, a chicken Po Boy and a side of mac & cheese to take home.As I waited in the cold pouring rain (a typical June day in Portland, it seems) for my order I took a look around the premises. I was curious what kind off business was operating inside the permanent structure on the property. It was hard to tell if it was a junkyard or a plumbing shop. On a ledge next to two burned out fluorescent tubes rested a toilet seat. Near the "Honey Bucket" was a gutted toilet and a crumbling box of plumbing joints.I'm not really sure what the difference is between LeRoy's BBQ sandwiches and their Po boys. Both come in pork, beef or chicken. Both come topped with a perfect mix of chopped cabbage and sliced scallion. Both come on toasted bread. Both have the most excellent barbecue sauce: sweet, but not too sweet, smoky, a little tangy and even a little spicy hot.But most importantly, both sandwiches are stunningly delicious!! The mac and cheese (shell pasta) was pretty good. Served in a little Chinese take-out box emblazoned with a red pagoda, the cheddary mac & cheese was, I felt however, a bit too garlicky and a bit salty.Other sides to try include: black-eyed peas, collard greens, green beans and coleslaw. Also, you can get barbecued chicken thighs, and of course, barbecued ribs."
"Every time I find myself in north Portland I can not resist.... this is my go to cart in the piedmont station. the owner is great, easy going, and will custom your sandwich. I love a turkey cheese sandwich, simple, yet done really well! he adds chips and a cookie for desert! all for under 10 bucks! great value, great meal!"
"After more than 20 years they're still an overall recommend on many levels. There's some good value choices on the "Cheap Eats" menu. The Oregon Dover Sole Parmesan was our winner and we also enjoyed the salmon cakes. The meatloaf was meh, seafood is where they shine. Well, soups too.The "Maple Donut" infused whiskey in the Old Fashioned cocktail is a recommend on name alone. The Coconut Cream cake included big pieces of coconut. The Carrot Cake would be even better with traditional cream cheese frosting rather than whipped cream.Service was stellar!"

Korean food from a food cart.Bim Bim Bap is $15, other dishes are around $12.No ban chan (side dishes) and prices aren't the cheapest but, the food tastes good. The Soy fried chicken is a pretty good sized portion for the price. It's about 15 smaller nuggets. It's not as crunch as I expected but the flavor makes up for it.I don't usually like spicy dishes so I was interested in trying their non-spicy version of rice cakes (Tteok-bokki). I got the one with beef and mushrooms, it ran for $2 more because of the beef/shroom add-on. It was rather on the sweet side, beef tasted pretty much like bulgogi. Rice cakes were well cooked.Overall, pretty solid food.

First time and will be back. Portions are generous and friendly customer service. Bbq chicken is amazing...if you love tender, sweet/salty charred chicken, this is some of the best I've had. Amazing! Garlic chicken was good, would want a little more crunch, maybe another minute or so in the fryer. Garlic flavor was pleasant. Rice was cooked very well. Mac salad was good, missing a little seasoning. I like Roxy's Mac salad as a reference. I'll be back to try other items too...$19.50 for the plate, so a little higher, but quality is there and supporting a local business costs more and I'll do that!

My original review from 2017 that I stand by:Damn. I don't think you will find better or more hearty comfort foods anywhere in downtown Portland than Portland Kettle.Just had my third lunch there & introduced another friend who is their newest fan. In the past, I've tried the beef stroganoff (amazing!) and today I tried the beef barley mushroom soup. Incredible.Twice I've had the chicken salad pocket. Great taste & interesting texture, but the pocket does tend to fall apart before the end. Also, this is the only place I like cornbread & you get a piece with each dish. So damn good!My updated review:If you love pastrami, you HAVE to have theirs! It's the best on the planet! This is the reason I'm sad to no longer work in downtown Portland as they are closed on the weekends. Words have no way of describing how delicious and amazing this sandwich is! Change your life - have a pastrami (or the corned beef!)

A friend and I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a delightful Burmese meal, and it was an experience worth sharing. The star of the show was the tender beef curry, which was perfectly cooked and bursting with rich, aromatic flavors. The beef was succulent and practically melted in my mouth, a true testament to the chef's skill.Accompanying the curry was the delicious coconut rice. The subtle sweetness of the coconut infused every grain, complementing the savory curry beautifully. It was fluffy, fragrant, and added a wonderful texture to the meal. The peanut salad was another highlight. It was crunchy, refreshing, and had a delightful mix of flavors, from the earthy peanuts to the tangy dressing. The shredded chicken was equally impressive, tender and well-seasoned, adding a nice protein punch to the salad. We enjoyed great service in the small, intimate dining room. We chose to eat inside because of the afternoon heat, but the charming street patio was tempting.Highly recommended for anyone looking to indulge in authentic and delicious Burmese cuisine.

4.5 stars. One of the best Thai places I've been to in a while!! Due to the location, parking can be difficult to find so you should come prepared for possibly driving around a bit for a spot. We came here on a Sun afternoon around 3 pm and got seated immediately. It is a bit cramped so you should also expect to sit pretty close to other parties. Our server was prompt and very nice!We ordered the veggie massaman, chicken massaman, chicken panang, the Ba-Mhee with Cashew, Chili jam Stir-Fry with ground chicken, the crispy trout and the veggie crispy rolls. Everything we had was simply amazing! Our top choice was the panang curry because of the flurry of flavors it had in spite of sticking to the original panang curry interpretation. The Ba-Mhee was delicious but not as spicy as I would've liked. The massaman curry was also excellent but a little on the sweeter side. The trout was wonderful, and elevated by the sauces they provided. The rolls were a teeny bit too oily but otherwise delicious. If you love spicy food, you can go for their hottest level. The server told us that their flavor profiles were spicier than other Thai restaurants but after tasting the food, I think they are equivalent to what I've had spice level wise.Price wise, they are equivalent to what I have seen in the downtown areas of major cities. Their portions are definitely good enough for two meals. All in all, this was a good experience and I shall be back!

I've been wanting to try this place for awhile and just recently drive by on a rainy Sunday afternoon as I rarely go shopping at Washington Square these days. I ended up ordering the Fried Chicken combo with coleslaw and not pictured was a side of Mac and cheese. The staff could recognize that I wasn't familiar with the menu and suggested I try the regular and spicy fried chicken. I like spicy food but not so hot like some of the hot chicken I've had in the past.I also wanted to try the sides. I typically get coleslaw and occasionally get mac and cheese, so I stuck with that. It comes with a roll as well. The staff was very nice for helping to make suggestions for me.So I wasn't sure which was the spicy and which was the regular. I think I eventually landed on the left one in the pic being the spicy but the difference was so subtle that I just wonder if they messed up my order? The spicy level at popular fast food joints was way more noticeable so I was perplexed. The chicken was juicy and taste great but my only complaint was that spicy was not even the least bit spicy.Next I tried the coleslaw and the mac sides. The coleslaw was delicious. I could eat it up all day long, but the mac was dried out and lukewarm. Almost like it had been sitting out all day near by a heat lamp. I was disappointed. Finally I tried the roll. It looked good but was also cold. I realized why. Behind the order counter was a stack of of several trays of rolls just sitting there. I guess they batch cook too many of them so they don't have to deal with it later? The roll didn't come with any butter or honey so we got up and asked for some. The price of the meal is actually pretty reasonable considering how the cost of everything has gone up. Overall, I found the experience just average.

Leroy's moved. Barely. It's in the lot with The Landmark Saloon. What Leroy's hasn't changed though is their food quality. Gosh darn it, it's still so magically delicious.I ordered the $6 burnt mac & cheese which included a choice of meat; the pulled pork was an excellent additive. The entire dish bursts with flavor. It's a tender, cheesy mess of calories, carbs & protein. If sour cream or chives isn't your liking make sure to let them know because it's part of the mac & cheese. Sriracha is a great way of adding that nice kick to a meal. Their $3 caesar salad is really good but small in portion. The only advice I give to customers is arrive at Leroy's during a non-peak time for The Landmark Saloon. It was probably 20-25 min before my food was ready. Drinking a cold, Sweet Tea vodka, from The Landmark, with a group of friends on a sunny day isn't so bad of a wait but if it were any other day I wouldn't be so patient. The guys are still cool dudes & their BBQ is outstanding.Well done, Leroy's. Well done.

"We were looking for a fun place to wrap up our last evening in PDX, and pinball sounded like fun. So we headed over to C Bar and wow, it turned out to be a great choice!C Bar was a bit of a drive from the hotel, but worth it. We started in the restaurant/bar area with a juicy burger and some seriously hot and crispy fries, then headed to their pinball room for a couple hours of fun. Oh, and we enjoyed a couple of local Portland beers from their extensive tap list, too.The pinball room was super impressive. There were games both new and old, with all the requisite flashing lights o' fun to be had. And the game prices were MORE than fair. I'm used to having to drop several quarters into even an old game 'round these parts; most of their games were 50-75 cents a play!I'll definitely be back to C Bar. It was a fun date night and a great way to end our stay in town!"
"Simple menus consisting mainly of rice bowls with Karaage and Gyoza.Their Karaage was very well-fried. Not oily at all and crunchy while juicy on the inside. Lovely sauces to go with them as well."
"The flavor and spice of the Kao Yum Gai Zap hit the spot good!Super good portion for price and tasty as heck. The flavor of the larb came through strongly. Combined with warm fluffy rice and the dish was a killer. Super fresh ingredients too."
"Walked two miles round trip to ty Nakhon and it did not disappoint. The nicest of staff. Went with a non-adventurous order of red curry and pad Thai with medium spice. Walk-in order to go, ready in ten minutes. Both dishes were spot on. Flavorful, tender with satisfactory portion size (ordered off the lunch menu). I was very happy with the service and food. I will definitely be back. Both dishes were piping hot by the time I got back home."
"Good value, large portions, tasty food and friendly owners. I just went Big Island last summer and think this place is better than a really popular place in Kona Go with the Death Row Plate for $27. Two types of fried chicken, poke, mac salad and rice. Sooo good!! I'll definitely be back. Pay attention to their instagram, they're only open for a few hours and they sell out QUICK because they have lots of IG hype and absolutely meet expectations."
"Came here on a rainy day. Wasn't sure how these would be with the ketchup and sour cream but everything came together perfectly. Highly recommend the chicken pelmeni."
"I do believe this place may have the best Mexican food in Portland and great size portions. Located in a food cart pod with indoor and patio seating... This festive little restaurant is not only fun but serves great drinks and food. I had the watermelon Rita which was basically a watermelon margarita with top shelf tequila, fresh watermelon juice and of course a few chunks of watermelon. It was delicious! I also ordered the California burrito with delicious grilled Carne Asada, french fries and I'll be other delicious burrito and ingredients in a grilled flour tortilla. The staff was super nice and fun! Also ordered the chips with guac and salsa. The regular salsa is a delicious smoky chipotle type salsa... It's so good. There is only street parking which is the only drawback. They do serve happy hour from 4 to 6 PM."
"Neighborhood bar that also acts as a home for Liverpool and Browns watch parties. People here are friendly and Megs is a great bartender. Dollar jello shots also a plus."
"I'm always going to opt for a spot that advertises as the oldest restaurant in a city. And 1879 that's a pretty good run. We were in the front dining room because I was with a large group so I entered through the front door which is normally not available. You have to go in through the hallway to the side of the restaurant. This is also why the restaurant often looks closed I'm told. I started with the beet and apple salad, along with onion rings that had been ordered for the table and honestly I could have been done there but I also had shrimp fettucine which was a huge portion. All the food was delicious. For dessert I had a bit of the cobbler but honestly was stuffed!Service was great, especially considering the size of our group."
"They didn't have a yelp so I created them one. This is the best comfort food I ever had. They had amazing gyro and Philly cheese steak and delicious garlic fries and quality jalapeño poppers and e writhing we had was amazing and so good I had to make them known so you know about it and can try this place out too. We will definitely be back."
"bruh everything from this place slaps i stg. i've had a cheesesteak, burger, and salad and they all bust"
"Wow! This place is AMAZING!I headed in hungry at around three in the afternoon and to be honest, it took me a bit to figure out what I wanted to order.I ordered the #7 dry with broth on the side. It came with noodles, greens perfectly prepared pork and four dumplings. It was SO perfect ordering it this way as I could add a little broth, drink a little broth on it's own or leave the broth along entirely.Everything was so delicious, I got stuffed pretty quickly and started to tear up because I couldn't eat anymore."
"The hype isn't even hype enough!Food: This is a quantity AND quality situation. The food was absolutely phenomenal and there was pounds of it. Green beans were the surprise of the plate- I didn't know green beans could taste so good. All the proteins were fried to magical perfection. Sides were great: Mac and cheese was cheesy, corn was buttery, baked beans were sweet, and the potato salad was just like my grandma used to make.Portion: I would argue Kee's is the best bang for your buck in Portland. For $45 my partner and I had enough food for 2 meals each - literally the amount of chicken wings in this plate alone was worth the price. Service: Everyone here was so kind from ordering, to hearing the workers talk to one another, to being handed our food. Wait: We arrived a few minutes before opening and out our name on the list. We were 6th- once they opened we got to order pretty quickly and food was out within 5 minutes. We were home and eating within 30 minutes. There was shade to wait in and some tables for eating there. Motown and oldies help set the tone and make it feel like a welcoming atmosphere. TLDR: Kee's is worth the hype from the food to the price to the wonderful employees. Now I'm gonna go finish the cheesecake from lunch today."
"I've driven by here many times but never thought about going in until recently with a group of friends for lunch. The interior has this old-school cozy vibe to it. They have a good selection of whiskey. I had the reuben sandwich with a side of fries, which was ok. The service was friendly and attentive."
"I've gone back several time since my previous review. The food and service is great. I'm glad I gave it another chance."
"I liked that they have added some newer items on the menu since my last visit. They're not much seating inside, but they do have a few small tables outside. We tried some of their newer items - hot and sour noodle soup and jajangmyeon. We also got some soup dumplings and wonton soup. The flavors of the soup were great and worth trying"
"I thoroughly enjoyed dining at this all vegan spot. They call themselves Japanese comfort food and I can agree. Especially on a chill, rainy day this warm food was all kinds of comforting. To start we ordered the Curried korokke which were crispy and bursting with flavors. I hadn't had anything like this before and I enjoyed the taste. I tasted some of the kenchinjiru which is like a vegetable stew. Again bursting with flavors and very comforting. For my entree I ordered the Tempura udon and it did not disappoint. They make their noodles in house and that was just a selling point. Again a very comforting dish when it's rainy. Service was good and very attentive. This place is very inclusive and had a nice, comforts vibe. When I ever visit PDX again I will return."
"Thai food is one of my favorites so I was excited to try this new place since there's only a few good spots here in Beaverton. It's a counter service restaurant so the prices are reasonable. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I like the decor, it was simple and showed much of the Thailand heritage.I ordered the Pineapple Curry with chicken and a Thai Iced Tea (with coconut milk for a dairy free option). To my surprise, the curry wasn't sweet. It had a good balance of spices. Also you can't get Thai food with these low prices nowadays (curry and many menu items are just $11). And the portion was just enough! Would definitely be coming back here."
