Nico B. "My husband and I couldn't have made a better choice for our spur-of-the-moment breakfast outing at Little Griddle this morning. We arrived just after 9 AM on a Saturday, which seemed ideal. We found a table for two in the half-filled restaurant, just in the nick of time! Within ten minutes of our arrival the popular restaurant had a 12-person waitlist. I can't stress enough how adorable Little Griddle is. They pack a lot of cuteness into this small footprint of a cafe with 10-12 tables that stretch from the bright window in the front, to the kitchen window in the back. The ocean blue ceiling has touches of gold trim throughout, and the featured works by local artists help make the space feel extra special. I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit with a side of roasted potatoes. The presentation was lovely, and the biscuit was expertly made. The meals seem shareable as the portions are generous. Every dish has a vegetarian option, and diners will find a wide variety of breakfast and brunch items on the menu. The overall vibe of Little Griddle is bright and happy. The staff were smiling and pleasant, and very attentive to our needs. I happily left a 25% tip and promised to come back again soon. This may be one of my new favorite breakfast places as it's conveniently located near my home and the food is DELISH!"

Mercedes C. "From avocado toast to almost every rendition of eggs, Kingsland served its purpose for some bites after a smooth NYC to PDX early Saturday afternoon landing which our kid picked for during our extremely short trip in town.Identical to Mother's Bistro located at the Hilton Embassy Suites, this is Kingsland- with a smaller and maybe, an even more casual setup from Mother's. Regardless, we managed to get here like 25 minutes to closing and you would think we'd be rushed. Think again. Between my mom's spicy chicken sandwich, hubs' cured ham (looked like sliced-at-the-supermarket-meat) sandwich, my kid's salmon+lox omelette with the works and my plain omelette (request) with queso fresco, quick bites was all we needed. Music was an 80s, 90s, 2000s throwback. If anything, service from both the hostess and our server, was legit from beginning to end."

I even purchased my wedding cake from them.We stopped in to grab a variety of desserts for a gathering we were having at our home. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They were having issues with their credit card machine but were very apologetic. We ended up ordering a piece of the lemon chiffon cake, German chocolate cake, raspberry gateau, lemon curd tart, and marionberry cheesecake. They were all absolutely delicious!I would highly recommend this establishment for desserts. They have a nice variety. You won't be disappointed!"

Alana C. "Back for lunch. This time we were the first customers here between 12-1pm on a weekday. No confusing lines and immediate service from the bartender. Sat in the covered patio outside. Our food selection was 2 banh mi sandwiches (pork belly & chicken), 1 burger, 1 French fry and 1 side potato salad. Notes on the food:Everything is à la carte. My companions had the banh mi's and had no complaints. I had the burger and it was so delicious. Maybe my favorite burger in town. Juicy meat, flavorful sauce, pillowy bun. The fries were hot, crispy, salty and tasty, albeit standard. My party didn't care for the potato salad. The pieces of potato were cut extra-large and weren't exactly bite size so it was awkward to eat. The fresh dill was a nice touch but the mustard seeds were odd. I also did not enjoy the "Push Pop" cocktail. It didn't taste *anything* like the frozen childhood treat I remember. The tastes weren't complimentary, and the best I can describe it as is creamy pineapple and soy sauce. On the other hand the Fort George Vortex IPAs we had were great. Not a huge selection of beer/cider/wine, but they specialize in mixed cocktails with cute names. There is a small food menu here but what they do make is pretty good. I kind of wish they had more rotating specials. Also wish they'd bring back that Surf &Turf Burger!! Yum. Something new: looks like there's a couple more inside restrooms nowadays, which is great because there only used to be 1. The seating area in the back had also been reimagined and looks chic and welcoming. It also was apparent while we were there that a brand new deck is being built. I overheard the bartender say that it will be a wooden raised deck with a fire pit in the center."

I ended up ordering a chocolate milk and the Campfire Burrito which came loaded with all of the fixings and was topped with an absolutely delicious pasilla pepper crema. The burrito was of a good size (though I personally wish it was a bit larger) and was really tasty. I will say though the presentation was a bit weird. I was expecting to be able to pick it up and eat it but it had the crema on the outside of it so you had to eat it with a knife and fork which causes a lot of the ingredients to fall out making it a bit difficult to get a bite with everything in it. Not a deal breaker of course, but something to think about. Overall, a great breakfast was had here."

We split the Kabob Barg and Koobideh. They're both very well-cooked, seasoned, and tender but the winner goes to the Koobideh for me. Super, super juicy. You can actually see the owner/chef cooking everything fresh from behind the counter. The dishes were served with saffron rice and salad. The salad was a sleeper hit! Super flavorful and herby. I would gladly just do salad for my plate next time. They got other interesting appetizers and main on offer as well but the grilled plates were definitely their specialty. Desserts from other tables also looked enticing; will check that out next time.Lots of tables in a modern space. A great spot in general!"

There was smoked salmon on the salad (that is smoked in the restaurant), it was phenomenal. The best thing about this dining experience, is the incredible service I received. I made the mistake of assuming everything on the brunch menu was vegan, but I guess it can be made vegan or not vegan. Good thing he asked me!David ordered the Humboldt Burrito and I ordered the Victoria Breakfast. Mine came with tofu scramble, vegan sausage, biscuits and gravy, and country potatoes. The biscuit and the gravy were both SO GOOD. The housemade sausage tasted like meat to me, so I didn't like it at all. (I've been vegan for 25 years so things that are too meaty are not for me.) Next time, I'll order the biscuit and gravy and the tofu scramble from the sides menu and skip the sausage and potatoes.I like how much outdoor seating they have because I was able to find a spot in the corner where my reactive doggo could sit without her anxiety being triggered (see my pics). Our favorite was the Spicy Buffalo Nuggets, I suggest complimenting them with the homemade Sriracha-based hot sauce found on every table. Lastly, the Rice Pudding was creative and kind of grew on me after each bite.Prices are fair, but I'M NOT a fan of the entitled automatic tipping model (for healthcare or cost of living too.) I hope this ridiculous trend - that's only found so far in inner Portland - dies quickly or the concept of tipping is redefined. That said, service was very friendly and attentive, I would have easily given 20% anyway. This melt is far from dry, and was enjoyed through and through. The bread is clearly buttered and toasted to perfection, and the chicken inside is tender and the batter was crispy. But also cause they always have some changing ice teas - so bring your sober friends have your beer or drink and then you can enjoy their alcohol free items. The barkeeper are always friendly and will find something you like. I had the upside down pineapple burger a special burger on the menu let's dive into a slice of pineapple fried in pancake batter, jalapeño's, pickles, cheddar Cheese, fried shoe string onions, bacon, beef patty with a raspberry chipotle BBQ Sauce on a toast brioche bun.Told you they are creative with drinks as with the burger Let's get this out of the way. Yes you can argue if pineapples belong on a pizza (yes they do) or not. But the church bar makes one thing clear there is no question a pineapple belongs on a juicy burger. This one has a spicy kick to it from the sweet raspberry chili jam the slice of the exotic fruit is making the whole burger a juicy experience and the crispy onions are giving extra crisps for texture and tastes. All in all a burger to enjoy. So perfectly made to bad it's only a special bit a very delicious one."

"For Mother's Day early dinner, my family decided to take me (& their dad, hubby of almost 50 years) to an Italian restaurant nearby, but they don't take reservation, but they recommend to come early. We did, and the patio we wanted is 1 hour wait. (We could have gone at 4, to eat at 5, if we knew!) While waiting for the rest of my children (& grandchildren), oldest son suggested, let's walk around to see if there's another restaurant to go and be seated right away. And WE DID! Not only did we eat outside, on an 82 degree very nice very little wind in the shade, but we were greeted with a friendly (smiley) kind lady server, and beautiful too!I wanted the TAMARIND drink, (that was all I can remember), it has brown sugar, honey, & lime. (My youngest son knew I don't drink alcohol, anymore, but I told him, once in a few, and today is a special day, so I will). All the ingredients on my drink was appealing UNTIL I got to the Serrano (I knew it was a brand name, I didn't know Fuego means fire. (Until down the street from us, a car was really on fire, and I showed video to my sons, and they said: FUEGO! LOL). Anyway, I didn't care for my drink, since it was spicy hot! Every adult in my table, all took sips, and finished it all, but I was left without a sweet drink, and our very nice, lovely waitress gave me same drink, without the spicey Serrano. Thank you, I'm happy now! Each ordered what they wanted, hubby and grand daughter both had the hamburger, I and one son ordered the fried chicken and another son ordered the pork chops with mashed sweet potato (I am surprise for the first time, because he, my dad and I only eat sweet potato in our family). :)All's well that ends well. We could have stayed for sweet-stuff, I heard we're heading to an ice cream parlor, and visit some more.Note: I would prefer the outside, HERE, than the patio there!
