"I wish we had one of these noodle places in Denver with this much variety all in one place. This place had so many amazing options from multiple Asian regions so we got Taiwanese, Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese noodles. I don't remember the dish, but the Vietnamese bowl of noodles was better than pho and had the best broth. I would definitely go back for just that noodle dish."
"Service was mid. You order at the kiosk for dining out. You can grab a seat and scan the QR code if you're dining in. Service was fast. Food looked authentic. I ordered the jianbing with beef and was disappointed that there was barely any beef... I paid extra for this. Overall size of the jianbing is generous but they skimp out on the beef! Credit card accepted."
"Zein Hong has been a long time favorite of our family for at least a couple of decades. I view I'm giving away my age a bit. For our family, they are known for their fresh garlic green beans. I must say the attention to taste was missing. The green beans were very plain. For that I dinged them a star. The orange chicken was tasty as always. The house fried rice includes, chicken, beef and shrimp. I was upset that there was only ONE shrimp in the box. One more ding for that. Still a family favorite but they are a little off their game. My apologies for not taking photos of the food itself."
"Yuan Su serves all-vegetarian Chinese food. (Perhaps all vegan? Hard to tell, as they don't have a full website.) They're in a giant red building off Powell and 111th so it's not exactly a happening part of the city or a fun dinner destination. I ordered takeout for lunch recently. Service stood out as above and beyond, from helping me decide what to order on the phone, greeting me when I walked in, having the order ready in about 10 minutes, packaging the order in a box to go, helping me with a complicated payment. The restaurant was nearly empty when I went to pickup. It's a huge space, somewhat spartan in decor. Looks like the building used to be used for something else. I ordered beef and broccoli, kung pao chicken, mapo tofu, potstickers, and rice. It was all good but not necessarily amazing. Portions were large enough for leftovers. Main dish prices were about $14-18 so a little pricey depending on what you get. If I go back, I will keep working my way through their menu to see what dishes are my favorite and how they adapt them to be vegetarian/vegan."
"The food was amazing! So delicious and fresh! We had dumplings, beef noodles, bok choy, shrimp noodles and cocktails. The service was amazing, our server was great with providing authentic recommendations to us since it was our first time there. We sat at the bar which was a lot of fun. Small but quaint inside and a great vibe. Definitely enjoyed our time here!"
"I've been on the search for a good vegan friendly Chinese spot for a while now. Kung Pow has seriously impressed me with the large variety they offer vegan. Everything is clearly indicated which I appreciate. I ordered my food to go and called the restaurant to ensure all my dishes were 100% vegan. The owner who answered the phone was extremely friendly and helpful, making sure what I ordered was made exactly how I wanted. Some menu highlights for me were the vegan potstickers and the Kung Pow! Tofu. The portions are a good sizing too. I do however wish they would add some more vegetables. Other than that I would highly recommend trying this place out!"
"I still love this place! So we had the fried rice again. I just keep forgetting to say more every other meat and no chicken. Because their pork, beef and shrimp are that much better than their drier chicken. We also had the lo mein with shrimp. I liked this dish, but compared to my friends Kung Pao and General Tsao's, it was a bit lower on the flavor, so you have to add sauces, or better yet, mix it with General Tsaos or Kung Pao. Honestly, it was a great combo because the latter two are really heavy dishes, both on flavor and calories. This is especially true for General Tsaos, being it's deep fried and sweet. It's delicious, but so rich I could never eat it all by itself."
"Once again, looking for a restaurant that offered outdoor seating so we could bring the Princess. We came across Gado Gado. Our experience with Indonesian food is limited to the few dishes offered by Fikscue BBQ in Alameda, CA. The prix fix Rice Table looked intriguing. Not inexpensive to be sure but what a way to experience a cuisine that you're not really familiar with! There are two outdoor seating areas. One at the front of the parking lot near the sidewalk. The other to the left side facing the restaurant. We wanted to sit near the restaurant because it looked like it would be free from the sun earlier than the other section. We were told we could sit there but we had to vacate the table by 6:30 for a reservation. It was 5:00 at the time and 1.5 hours seemed like it should be sufficient. Of course, our pace would be at the mercy of the kitchen, so everyone had to cooperate. The Rice Table is a meal that everyone at the table must participate in. Since there were only the two of us and the dog (she doesn't get to vote), it was an easy decision. One of the staff members brought out a bowl of water and a few shrimp chips to keep the Princess happy. I gave her the shrimp chips a bit at a time and the last piece just as we finished our meal. There are so many components to the Rice Table menu. Everything that is pictured below came with our meal. Some reviewers have said that the portions were tiny and some of the items were listed separately to make the menu seem more robust. Others said that they didn't feel that they got good value for the cost of the meal. Another thing to consider is how much work goes on in the kitchen to prepare this meal for just two diners. It would be much more time efficient with more diners. Our opinion is that the Rice Table is fairly priced, and the food quantity is sufficient. Yes, many of the appetizers are one or two bites, but there are several of them. I did question the names of some of the dishes because I couldn't taste some of the listed flavors. At the same time, there was nothing that I didn't like. An example is Oma's Clove Scented Coconut Rice. The description lists coconut, turmeric, pandan and fried shallot. Nowhere does it mention Clove other than in the name. Maybe the cloves were present when the rice was being cooked and then removed before being served. House PIckles - 5 - a great palate cleanser to prepare you taste buds for the flavors to come. Sambal - 3 - we're neutral on the four sauces that were to accompany whatever our hearts desired. Being novices, we wanted to taste the dishes as they came from the kitchen before adjusting the flavors. As it was, we enjoyed each dish so much that we didn't use the Sambal. Panipuri - 5 - the presentation was attractive and the flavor even better. Zucchini & Corn Fritter - 5 - Crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside, flavor throughout! Running the fritter through the romesco was definitely a must.Chicken Satay - 4 - the chicken was moist and tender. The crispy rice added another dimension to the texture.Chinese Sausage & Shrimp Siu Mai - 5 - I was looking for Lop Cheung but didn't find any. That didn't make the Siu Mai any less desirable. Roti Canai - 5 - I'm a huge fan of Roti, especially Roti Telur, which has egg in. While I'm used to dipping my Roti into Yellow Curry. Gado Gado presents the Blistered Heirloom Tomato Curry as the dip. It is super yummy! I didn't even miss the yellow curry. Oma's Clove Scented Rice - 5 - nothing works better with saucy dishes as fluffy rice that has it's own flavor and is ready to absorb more. Blistered Heirloom Tomato Curry - 5 - perfectly seasoned and ready to add another dimension to the Roti Canai. Coconut Clam Curry - 5 - This is the dish that I finished the rice with. I love all three main components of this dish individually and combined just made them extra special. The clams were plump and cooked perfectly. Ayam Kecap - 5 - this has a be considered soul food in Indonesia. I can see this dish along with rice being all that's served for dinner. According to Wikipedia, this dish usually contains sweet soy sauce marinated chicken. I didn't miss the chicken.Wok Fired Herbal Omelet - 5 - My wife, who doesn't really care for eggs, loved this dish. Need I say more?Sumatran Style Beef Rendang - 5 - On appearance, this dish looked soooo dry. In actuality, it was very moist, tender and wonderful. Now I wish I had't finished the rice so soon. Orange Cardamom Apple Cider Donuts - 5 - Why have more desserts on offer when you already have the perfect one for most people? These Donut hole like morsels had an crunchy outer crust like an old fashion donut, soft fluffy cake inside and came with a Kaya Jam (coconut) dipping sauce. The only possible improvement might have been ice cream. I would have asked, but alas, we were out of time. Yes, yes, yes, we would dine here again. And maybe even get the Rice Table again because it was so good and filling!"
"We ordered 3 dishes when they opened at 11am. We ordered House Lo Mein, House Chow Fun and Beef with double mushroom. We were surprised how much ingredients were in each dish. Good portions of beef was included in the lo mein too. There were good size of shrimp in both the noodles. The service was quick. We just had to wait a few minutes for the food to come out from the kitchen. I love seeing big portions of food that I am eating. Great experience here. Definitely good"

This was my first visit and I will definitely be returning if I'm ever in the area. I came here on the weekend after lunch and it was surprisingly empty. The interior is cute and they have high chairs if you are bringing any kids with you. We opted for one soup and one noodle dish. Braised pork belly and green bean chow mein was delicious! The soup wasn't too spicy so the server gave us some chili oil to up the spice a bit (I can't remember the name of the soup but I'll update this review if I figure it out)! The restaurant was very clean and the service was 10/10! Serving sizes are great for the price as well

Their chilly oil sauce is the best in PDX! The congee is mastered of its class. For Chinese congee style, this is your best bet in PDX!Quick service, the friendliness depends on your own perspective and interpretation. Super casual, not a good place to work or hangout.

It's 10pm on a Sunday night and nothing is open that isn't a bar. We run across this place on Yelp and reluctantly decide to wander in. NOT. DISAPPOINTED. we were immediately greeted and seated, even after 10pm. She was forward and told us we needed to decide quickly (I get we're coming in at the end of the night. The dining room was clean and well lit, we ordered quickly and our food came out very promptly. It was fresh and hot. Absolutely will be back. Great little early/late night spot.

When people ask me my favorite restaurants, I'm often hard pressed to come up with an answer. Yuan Su is on the short list now! I've eaten here a couple times and am never disappointed. I highly recommend eating family style so you can try more things! Visited with a large group and got to try several dishes. General Tso was still a crowd pleaser and the beef style dishes were a major hit. The surprise was the lemon "fish" which was delightful. And again, even with our large group, the staff kept up with our many requests. Can't wait to come back!

Bao cheeseburger was a fun attempt during Burger week but not more than a novelty. Not sure how ordering first at the counter and self serve everything equates to a tip but still a nice chill vibe for drinks & dumplings.

"I had wanted to actually have a sit down here because I am rarely over here when they are open and I have time to grab food. They are never not busy when open. I had some time before a movie over at the Hollywood Theater so a friend and I decided to grab some takeout to eat after the movie. Well, we did bring it in but decided to wait and enjoy it at my place with another movie. I am so glad since we would have been in the dark and there was already a bit of leakage though we both had packed smart and double bagged. I appreciated the nice person at the counter taking our orders also. I bring my own cup with ice to the theater since I REALLY like my drinks extra cold plus I do not enjoy drinking then from a bottle & want a straw. But he was so kind to fill me up with ice. I also appreciate that their to go containers are pretty great. Their house made noodles are some of the best I have had - eve reheated and I went for the orange chicken which was delicious and I really appreciated that they do have vegetables in it as well but the sauce is that nice dark tone without being overly sweet. I think the popular thing to order that we kept seeing one after another to a lot of the tables while we were waiting was their green beans and they looed and smelled amazing. I also definitely plan to go back for the dumplings. When I do, I will definitely make reservations. This is just such a solid Portland spot and I can see why they have maintained their great location for so long."
"We were craving crab puffs and their salt and pepper squid, so we decided to give them another shot!Walked in and was seated promptly in a window booth. Noticed the QR code for ordering at the table. Decided to give it a shot. We let the server know we used the QR code to order when she came over. Our order came out promptly and the food was just as good as we remembered. Restaurant was clean. Service friendly. We'll be back more often."
"Wan Lung! Have been coming here for over a decade. Husband doesn't know what to eat?! WAN LUNG it is! Our go to is 10 ingredient chow mein, 10 ingredient fried rice, crab Ragoon!"
"I was excited to come here for the first time since COVID. Things have changed. It has been remodeled and apparently changed ownership. The decor has been updated to a more simple, clean aesthetic (no more carpet, banquet decorations, or chandeliers). Many of the menu offerings are the same, but sadly, were not prepared the same way as before.Seafood fish maw soup: The fish maw was plentiful, but seemed undercooked. It was more chewy/gummy than crunchy.Salt and pepper squid: the squid and batter was very thin and not crispy. The onions had good flavor.Enoki mushroom and tofu hotpot: This was good, and arrived bubbling in its pot. It literally only had enoki and shiitake mushrooms, and tofu. Usually, there are more veggies too. Hot tea and white rice are included."
"Super five star place! Great food and great service!!!It's a regular stop for me. Spicy noodles in a laid back atmosphere!"
"We love Frank's Noodle House & it's a must try when you're in town! We have ate at the Portland location and our first time at the Beaverton location. Service was friendly, food came out fresh & fast! Compared to the Portland location, Beaverton is larger, cleaner, more modern, plenty of parking versus street parking. We ordered the chicken fried rice, hand pulled noodles with shrimp, garlic bok choy and the pork dumplings. Every single dish was delicious and makes you want to eat more! Some of the best fried rice I have ever had. The taste level of the food is same as Portland. You cant go wrong with either location. We will come back again when we are in town next time!"
"Not a bad place for fast Chinese food. Came here for dinner - place looked a bit depressed - with just one lone diner. The owner is sweet though - patiently ran through the options - Mongolian style grill or panda style make your own plate. Opted for their spicy fish that they make to order and some orange chicken. Wanted veges but what they had was just some cabbage and carrots that looked like it was from lunch but she offered to toss it into my fried rice Fish was good. Decent place if you need a quick meal"
"Didn't get to dine in the space but ordered ahead for dinner on a weekend and only a 15-20 minute wait. By the time we came to pick up the order was already ready which was great! There were some spots in the front but driving around it looks like there might be parking in the back? Will need to check another time. | WHAT WE ORDERED | + Mongolian Beef + House Fried Rice + Chicken Lo Mein Noodles + Salt & Pepper Squid I saw the wontons & chili sauce and hot & sour soup on the menu so I have those bookmarked to try another time. For the above it was ~$60 with tip so not the cheapest Chinese food around but it can last two people 2-3 meals each so not too bad when you think of it that way. _________________All of the items were really solid to order! The squid came in longer/thicker strips but had a great crisp and was still crispy hours later. The house fried rice was seasoned well and had nice chunks of the various proteins and was not skimpy at all. The mongolian beef was your standard but the cuts were on the thinner side. Nice veggies and crunch but might try another beef next time. Lastly the noodles had me hesitant at first as they were on the lighter side but after trying them they had good flavor and paired well with the chicken. Overall $60 does sound pricey but the items were good and had nice portions where the price was justified."
"We came here for a family birthday. The service was attentive and friendly and patient as we couldn't make up our minds. The food is consistent and flavorful for what I'd refer to as American Chinese food. Servings and generous for the prices. The ambience is definitely 80s but it's kept clean."
"Great dining experience! We came in on a Thursday night and was sat immediately with only one other table occupied. There seemed to be only one waitress busting her butt to keep us happy and fed but she did a great job! We explained it was our first time trying hot pot and she explained everything to us expertly. We ordered the combination for 2 for $35 with the half and half broth. Many people on here complained of small portions but we personally couldn't finish it! The handmade noodles were delicious. The spicy broth is REALLY spicy (trust me I can handle spice and this had me sweating) other than that, a fantastic experience. I also ordered a cucumber salad which was delicious and refreshing. The only thing I wish was different about the experience was maybe more differing flavors. It would be great to have a few different types of sauces. Other than that, a great time!"
"You can definitely become overwhelmed by this menu, they have everything from teriyaki to pad Thai to udon. Thankfully they have a ton of photos plastered all over the place so you can see what your food will look like. They used to offer egg drop soup complimentary for those who dined in but they've done away with that. The chicken yakisoba was a huge plate of with a side of rice. I enjoyed it a bit better once I added some hot sauce. General Tao and chicken teriyaki was also very good. Serviced with rice and a side salad. The service was really fast, but the place wasn't very busy when we were there for lunch."
"I'm gonna preface this by saying I'm a Chinese food snob. Since I've moved to the PNW I've been really missing good Chinese food. There's a weird trend with hot and sour soup having ketchup added. Things have just tasted off. I get needing to cater to the demographic but no. Lol. I grew up in an area that was 90%+ Asian. I cook authentic Asian dishes all the time. So-yeah...here we go! I've tried this place a couple times. My family likes the potstickers and egg rolls. We try different dishes in addition to those apps each time we've ordered. The hot and sour soup is one of the better ones I've tried in the area. There is no ketchup (yay!). But it's not spicy or enough vinegar for my taste. I tried the pork and cabbage spicy soup and it was not spicy at all. It was delicious but I really wanted the spicy. I think they might have forgotten to add the chilis/chili oil to the container. it tasted more like wonton broth. The green beans are fresh and loaded with garlic. I've also ordered king pow chicken. It was ample which I appreciate. But it had more sugar than spice. I try to limit my sugar intake so I will avoid it. But it was still pretty good flavor over all. For the area this has been much better experience for take out chinese. We will definitely try more dishes."
"I was looking for Chinese food to serve dinner to family while in town visiting. I obviously used Yelp to help and it did not steer me wrong. Lucky 7 was a great find. 1st, this is a take out restaurant only. It's a family restaurant and I met mom, dad, and daughter when I picked up my order. I love supporting good family restaurants. I ordered 6 items: potstickers, veggie Lo mein, salty pepper shrimp, sesame beef, orange chicken, and bbq pork fried rice. All dishes were tasty and prepared well. I liked the salty pepper shrimp and sesame beef the best. The shrimp had lots of jalapeños and onion. Well seasoned. The shrimp were lightly fried. The sesame beef was crispy with a fairly sweet brown sauce. I used a little soy sauce to balance the sweet with the salty. I highly recommend Lucky 7. Good food, reasonable value, and a great family restaurant to support."
"The Local Asian Bistro is a new spot for us. A little out of the way but we wanted try some place different. No regrets!!! You might think all Asian/Thai places are the same. In particular we were looking for a place that accommodates vegetarians. They have a few dishes that are vegetarian and tasty. What I like most about the Local Asian Bistro is the vibe. The atmosphere was peaceful, clean and comfortable. Even though our order was to-go, next time I'll park and stay."
"Please expand or something. I keep not noticing you and it hurts my belly Everytime I walk by and don't stop. It's a little place that can always seem to be crowded. The service is very good and they keep the tables moving. The food is more authentic then American made. Means there is some flavor not just some sweet sauce dumped on for making it taste good. Love the skewers. The spinach garlic chicken is a must try. The soup is also something to put on your list of things to out in your mouth. A great drink list and bar menu. They have a good happy hour. A neighborhood joint that sticks out from the crowd. Only issue is that they lack a little space. The seating area fills up fast. They do have a little bar seating are that allows you to sneak in as a single and get your grub on. A useful tool to keep in your pocket. Great date place because the food is so good."
"Visiting my daughter in Salem and craving some good chinese food. I lucked out with nearby The Essence of China in West Linn, a peaceful and upscale town not too far from Lake Oswego where I hear Oprah Winfrey and Lady Gaga have homes. The 3 of us shared Wonton soup, Salt & Pepper Shrimp, Mongolian Beef and the House Special Chow Mein with Shrimp, Chicken & Beef! (Normally you would need to only select one at other chinese restaurants) Everything was delicious - my favorite was the Mongolian Beef - tasty crisp slices of beef on a bed of crispy rice noodles and fresh thin sliced cabbage. The owner Youggen Qui stopped by for a chat and was very friendly and entertaining with stories of his younger days in China. He has owned the restaurant for over 24 years! If you are craving chinese you should stop by here!"
"Loved every dish we got here! Everything was made super fresh and came out piping hot. Was pleasantly surprised at how not oily their food was either, eventhough most of them was fried or stir-fried. The flavors were also well-balanced, not overly salty. Portion was great for sharing as well.Noodles ans dumplings are homemade and you can taste it. Really vouche for their pork dumplings, thin wrapper and juicy filling. Jajangmyeon also really hit the spot with the smoky wok taste and fresh seafood. The best dish still went to the Peking Style Sweet & Sour Pork, ask for the sauce on the side so you can have crispy tender pork throughout the whole meal!Really fell in love with this place. Super casual and homey ambience inside. One lady sort of served everyone; she's very kind. Service was fast.We will return!"
"So I'm not sure if there are multiple of these or Chinese restaurateurs are just very unoriginal. I can never remember what levels of taste "good" or "great" I've been to and where. I got the combo with general tso, fried shrimp and bbq pork. The general tso was good. Not the best but definitely one of the top. Tasty sauce. Not too spicy or metallic. It was ridiculously hot though fresh out of the kitchen. Good cuts of chicken without inedible pieces. Solid. The fried rice was good. All of the requisite parts. Even some crispy vegetables. The shrimp batter was a little too heavy. Also unevenly cooked. One was in Incinerated. The bbq pork was super weak. Pale and meager. Not a very strong showing. I appreciate the soup with a to go order. Never had that before. The hot and sour was both hot and sour. A little thick so again, ridiculously hot coming out of the kitchen. Maybe this is the new normal but I thought the price was a little high. I'm also probably a little spoiled not paying tax but it adds up. Solid four. Some weak spots and value kept it from a five."
"I'm stingy with 5-Stars, this earns more like 4.5, but heck, let's round up.Winner, Winner on taste and price, i.e., value. The first item is usually the most popular and that applies here: the pan fried rice cakes were excellent? The salted fish and chicken fried rice is one of the best versions I've tried. For certain, it's tops in Portland. The complementary tea was above average, while the iced limeade was oh so refreshing.Service was friendly and fast. Prices are more than fair. Ambiance is so-so as it seems like the seating layout could be improved to allow for more customers. Parking can be tough during peak hours. Lastly, they close way too early for an Asian restaurant, especially a popular tone."
