"I cannot tell you how much better this place is than the previous a Chinese place (no offense to the old place...).It's not a fusion or Cajun and Chinese - they just have both options on the menu. The Chinese food is good - especially love the egg flower/drop soup at this place. The Cajun seafood is also great. We've gotten the shrimp - shell on for more flavor - and the crawfish."

"Another local mom and pop spot located in the Eastside. The interior is spacious and the people working were friendly. They have some lunch specials that you can get, which is of good portion. I ordered the Szechuan Beef over fried rice. The dish was very flavorful. I added a cup of egg flower, which was also good."
"Kung Pao chicken is very good, hot and sour soup is very good and my service was never lacking. Clean, friendly staff, plenty of parking. I like this place and will return whenever I am in the area."
"This is my #1 favorite Chinese food restaurant in the greater Portland/Vancouver metro area. Nothing fancy but not everything needs to be fancy. This is a solid, family run business with huge portions, delicious food and nice bartenders. They have the biggest egg rolls I've ever seen in my life!I really like their vegetable tofu, pork fried rice, vegetable lo mein & the crab puffs.I've only ever sat on the bar side of the restaurant so I'm sorry there's no pictures but if you're in the area and want Chinese, I'd strongly recommend checking this spot out!"
"The food here is delicious. I have been here several times and am always impressed. I had the number 7 today and got a very generous plate of very good food. The Kung Pao chicken was delicious. The shrimp was cooked perfectly. The sweet sour chicken actually had some chicken inside the batter. Really good. The outside looks a little sketchy but I come for the good food."
"Its a better as a take-out place than a sit down restaurant . Food is decent , average at best and the prices reasonable . They have a big menu so lots of options to choose from . Fast service but not friendly at all ,in-fact they can border at being rude most of the times and hence I recommend them as a take-out place instead ."
"My favorite Chinese restaurant. Good tats yes amazing! The best in Portland. It is always hot and made fresh!"
"The worse thing about this place was April, happy to say she has moved on to the dump dive bar she worked at part-time. She was so trashy I wouldnot go in there when she worked. The best fish and chips, chefs salad in PDX. Deb, Marci and Tona are great bartenders."

Delicious! My brother says he comes every weekend ! I finally get to try it and yesssss it was so yummyyyy !!! We had orange chicken , shrimp fried rice , crab puffs, fried shrimp, kung pao chicken, and something else but overall everything was delicious! I forgot to take a picture of our food because I was so hungry and the food looked incredibly appetizing ! And it was . The service was phenomenal as well . We had constant help for extra sauces and napkins. The food got there in 2 seconds I swear and was piping hot ! Everyone was so kind as well . A wonderful family business ! I see why my brother is a regular!

This spot is one of those hole-in-the-wall places that deserves much more love than it actually receives. My family and I have been going here for years. Compared to other Chinese restaurants, they offer a wide array of foods that seem for the most part fresh and authentic (duck feet included!). I recommend this seafood restaurant to other Chinese places because while they offer a lot of commonly known dishes, most of their menu isn't stir-fried. Try the whole fried fish, calamari, deep fried tofu, bok choi, fried shrimp, and crab soup.Pros: 1) Traditional Chinese restaurant layout-spacious and ideal for big parties with spinning tabletop for family style dishes. 2) Great food and awesome service. 3) Dim sum is pretty basic but not bad.Room for improvement: 1)The menu could be scaled down a little, as many dishes seem similar with the same sauce, esp. in the hot pots. 2) A website would be helpful for those who have never been here. 3) Beef dishes don't seem seasoned enough and don't taste very fresh.

3.5* for great lunch while running errands in the area, first time in, and return visit penciled!Kung Pao chicken $10.50 had better marinade and stir fry 'wok hei' smokiness flavor, than the more generic brown sauce of the Hunan Chicken & Shrimp $11.25. Latter had more veggies, big plus for me, and surprise treat were some white stalks of bok choy, bright snappy green snow peas, baby corns, and water chestnuts for extra pleasing crunch. Both had ample protein and at lunch complimentary soup, egg flower or hot & sour. Hot & Sour was nice balance of vinegar for sour & spicy hot. Definitely an elevated Lunch menu & experience, with Beef Tomato Curry, Szechuan Lamb, and Brown Rice options although the rice upgrade at a rather steep $3.50 add-on, & a nice option for dining on an upper or lower level in the dining room.Plenty of tables and booths with a private banquet room and 2nd dining room for overflow past the bar, yes a full bar, but no upsell without either a separate cocktail/bar menu or server asking if you want any ABV, rather just a visual presence of a bar, so ask the server what they can make you, or more likely a well call drink. Nevertheless a big plus for eating Chinese out, as many are dry. I'd love to see a few outdoor tables and a patio heater on the nice built-in covered sidewalk entrance out front. Hang a few inviting lanterns for patrons new like us & old, who can be tempted out of the prolonged Covid variant-induced fear of dining in and bump up the lunch traffic--only 1 other table was occupied during lunch.& On Another Note: True, the iconic family Chinese restaurant throughout US communities are disappearing as the next generation of torch bearers are instead urged to aspire to climb the social & professional ladder, over the slog and daily demands of life around the kitchen. So please embrace the often funky and old school decor, SK is more on the mid century spectrum, and experience the traditional and true Family Style meal while these restaurants are still around, where 'Sharing Plates' truly meant that; with enough on the plate for the family to share. Somehow with yuppified decor, whether Chinese food or not, 'family style' was hacked now meaning small plates with mini portions, and the need to order 2-3 plates of the same item in order to get a shot at a bite; I still don't get it. Come here and do it right ;D

I'm surprised the ratings are so low but maybe it's all about what you order. The honey walnut shrimp here by far is the best when comparing to a lot of the other local Chinese delivery food options. The shrimp taste fresh and they're so large in size - they're pork fried rice is also good.

We were there Thursday afternoon late. We were the only people in the restaurant so we got terrific service. Sweet and sour chicken, hot and spicy beef, and deep fried shrimp! With two sides of pork fried rice, all came out hot. Everything was delicious and tasty. 3 people $45.00 including tip. Best of all Baskin and Robbins is right next door. See you again soon, your ad on TV peeked our interest.

I cannot believe I've never left a review for my favorite Chinese restaurant for the past 8 years.*TIP: Call the restaurant directly or order through their website/Beyond Menu. If you live within a 3 mile radius, they will deliver to you for free with a $20 minimum order.*This is just good Chinese food. I've tried new things off the menu over the years and have only been disappointed by the Peking Duck; I just don't think I'm a fan of duck, but the taste was phenomenal.I'm a BIG fan of their Mongolian Beef. It is absolutely perfect: the beef is slightly crispy with the scallions on top a bed of crispy noodles.Other than the Mongolian Beef, I usually get their Scallion Pancakes (simple and DELICIOUS) and Foil Wrapped Chicken (people NEED to know about this menu item). The prices are just right for the portions.I miss Chinese buffets, so I order several of their lunch specials to create my own buffet at home.I've also worked for two different companies and called on August Moon to cater. Everyone was super happy, even the vegetarians.

"I wish we had one of these noodle places in Denver with this much variety all in one place. This place had so many amazing options from multiple Asian regions so we got Taiwanese, Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese noodles. I don't remember the dish, but the Vietnamese bowl of noodles was better than pho and had the best broth. I would definitely go back for just that noodle dish."
"Best Beef Chow Fun I've had in Portland. Place is not aesthetically appealing, nor is the neighborhood. And there are only two parking spots, tight ones at that. But you come for the noodles so who cares."
"We came here for a family birthday. The service was attentive and friendly and patient as we couldn't make up our minds. The food is consistent and flavorful for what I'd refer to as American Chinese food. Servings and generous for the prices. The ambience is definitely 80s but it's kept clean."
"We were craving crab puffs and their salt and pepper squid, so we decided to give them another shot!Walked in and was seated promptly in a window booth. Noticed the QR code for ordering at the table. Decided to give it a shot. We let the server know we used the QR code to order when she came over. Our order came out promptly and the food was just as good as we remembered. Restaurant was clean. Service friendly. We'll be back more often."
"I've been going to their farmers market stand for years and love their Xian Bing. They're always really fresh and filled with good flavors. I got the pork and chive one today which had the perfect pork to chive ratio. The filling was juicy yet somehow the outside was still crisp. The owner was really nice and happy to explain all the neat dishes they have. Totally worth checking out sometime either at a farmers market nearby or their location at the Midtown Beer Garden!"
"I found out about this place through the Kuto app. It looks like a nice family business. I sort of chuckled when I saw this food cart with the sign above: the word Huali means exquisite, magnificent, or elegant -- a bit out of place at a rather unexpected place (it is a bit of shady part of downtown, though, but it's near the US Bancorp Tower, the Transit Mall, and the Powell's City of Books, convenient for office workers and tourists alike). Everything is made to order so expect to wait up to 10 minutes especially if there are other customers. It comes in a big container!"
"Loved every dish we got here! Everything was made super fresh and came out piping hot. Was pleasantly surprised at how not oily their food was either, eventhough most of them was fried or stir-fried. The flavors were also well-balanced, not overly salty. Portion was great for sharing as well.Noodles ans dumplings are homemade and you can taste it. Really vouche for their pork dumplings, thin wrapper and juicy filling. Jajangmyeon also really hit the spot with the smoky wok taste and fresh seafood. The best dish still went to the Peking Style Sweet & Sour Pork, ask for the sauce on the side so you can have crispy tender pork throughout the whole meal!Really fell in love with this place. Super casual and homey ambience inside. One lady sort of served everyone; she's very kind. Service was fast.We will return!"
"I ordered sesame beef and am delighted! It had just the right amount beef to coating to sauce ratio. The last great Chinese restaurant in town"
"Been coming here for about a year. Quality of food has not decreased at all. Best Chinese food cart for kids. Chicken is juicy and crispy. Always fresh"
"My kid lives near this tiny take-out restaurant and gets dinner here every 1-2 weeks. She and her beau say the food is great and reasonably priced and the portions are huge. So we decided to get a few dishes tonight as no-one wants to cook the day before Thanksgiving (right??!). I went with her to pick up the meals. The place is small but really quirky and cute, with lots of plants and greenery. (I was surprised to read that someone complained about the plants in their review. Really? Who doesn't like plants?). And yes, the place felt cluttered, with the plants and the desk of condiments and chairs to sit on as you wait for your meals to be prepared. The place won't win any medals in Architectural Digest. But I thought it was quirky, and cute, and it is quintessentially Portland. (And when I was there, there was absolutely no odors in the place, as another reviewer wrote. If the place smelled bad, there's no WAY ON EARTH my kid or I would ever patronize the place!).And the food was great. We got my kid and her boyfriends' usual teriyaki beef and we also got orange chicken (both these meals came with rice), and also my kid's favorite yakisoba noodles (omg they are so good. I have no idea what seasoning they use, but these noodles are reddish in color and taste amazingly good). The portions are humongous and easily enough for 2-3 meals. We like supporting local businesses. And this one is great!"
"Kinda a head scratcher as this is the third large capacity Chinese (not pan Asian) restaurant to open within a small geographical radius. Tipsy has an eye towards presentation. They just introduced a generous portion lunch special, and most importantly, better than any Chinese food around. The bar is long and stocked and there's room for 100+ taps! Currently, they offer about seven so not sure if it's just for show.Staff is friendly, so is the very visible owner. The server packaged the leftovers; at Tasty corner they hand you togo boxes to do it yourself. The Sichuan cold noodles were refreshingly delicious, there some sort of sweet caramelized spice that was very appealing. The Cold Chicken packed some heat with a medium spice level. Real good and a generous portion that could feed two maybe three.Love the Honey Walnut Shrimp, but it's different than what you might be accustomed to. First, there's no mayonnaise. And the sauce is a light citrus rather than a gooey overly sweet one.The menu also includes a four-item dim sum selection.I hope the high price points don't scare people away. But a decent deal if you're sharing."
"Noticed this Chinese place on the map while visiting Becerras so I figured wth since it's practically next door. Ordering is super easy using their site. They text you updates when your order is confirmed and when it's ready. Definitely retro exterior. Wouldn't surprise me if it's been there a while. The staff are really nice. They kept offering us sauces for our food: spring rolls, orange chicken and egg flower soup. I love that nothing is in Styrofoam and they didn't hand us anything we didn't want. Utensils and napkins are by request. They handed us our order in half a box which was great because nothing spilled on the way home. This is another restaurant that doesn't over salt. I loved the mushrooms but could have done without the ground pork in the soup. It definitely needed shoyu which tasted great with rice. Spring rolls are nice and crunchy and reliably tasty the way only fried foods are. Their take on orange chicken was one I encounter here and there and isn't my favorite. It reminds me of tempura chicken that has an orange sauce poured on top. Even this needed soy sauce to complete it. Eat it all while it's fresh because it makes miserable leftovers. Overall I might be back for the soup or maybe another dish if I was in the area but as long as Taste of Chinese and Sachi stick around we'll probably remain regulars there."
"Pretty happy with the Black Pepper Chicken and Beef Chow Fun!The meat were very tender, especially the chicken. I really liked that their food was not overly salty or sweet. Great ratio of protein to rice and noodles as well.Food was made fresh for pickup and prices were amazing. A great spot for a quick, casual meal."
"YES. Every single flavor on the menu with the OPTION for any protein?! Life changing. As a vegetarian I am so happy to have found this place. The crispy sticky sesame tofu was delicious and the fried rice here is the best I've had in a longgg time. Egg drop soup (made with vegetable broth!!) I devoured. Thank you for such a great menu that's full of options for everyone. I'll be back again and again. New favorite Chinese food!"
