"This is my comfort spot. The pasta is incredible. The bread and balsamic is okay, I would prefer garlic bread. The complimentary soup is amazing!! Don't eat too much or you will spoil your pasta. I love the penne pesto pollo. I always add sun dried tomatoes. It's my dream pasta. The sun dried tomato tortellini is good too!! They have a good happy hour/drink menu and dinner specials. I take all my friends. I brag about this place. I come to celebrate my birthday. I come when I'm sad and need a pick me up. I have had tough conversations here. I have gotten offered a job on the phone here. I had my softball end of season party here. This place is the real deal. The owner is so kind and sweet and welcoming. The outdoor seating is so nice in the summer. I love this place."
"We had some time to kill in the area and happened to discover this small restaurant. We were looking a an iced coffee at the time and discovered that the Starbucks around the corner had closed. It's a small corner restaurant with in door and outdoor seating. The inside is quaint with fake trees in an area designed as a European courtyard. It was a relaxed vibe. They serve coffees, gelato, wines and a food menu. I can't speak to the food, but it was a hot day and the staff recommended an Affogoto; Italian espresso poured over a scoop (traditionally) of vanilla ice cream or gelato. My husband went the traditional route and I ordered mine over cookies and cream gelato. It was such a refreshing treat! My husband actually ordered a second one to go and I had a Doppio shot of espresso to go. Yes. (86 can assume we liked it!! We definitely would be back when we are in the area."

"Good Lord this place is fantastic! I don't like waffles but let me tell you, this waffles are fucking great. So crunchy. I got the classic. My wife got the maddeline and the pave potato's. Everything was so damn good. Solid portions, nice people, great new food cart pod to this part of town. Can't wait to be back."
"Cool place with a huge patio on the Columbia River. Happy hour starts at 3pm and goes until 6pm. Cold beers and good oysters too. These ladies work super hard to please you here do best come on out while sun is shining. The patio is perfect to have a cold one and catch some rays. I had the Rueben for the first time today and it was delicious and so were the sweet potato fries m. The side salad is good with the beets and purple onions. This is my go to place now!! I love the atmosphere here too. Especially when you get to meet some of the friendly folks here who like to play pool.."
"Really enjoyed our dinner at Banning's. We're a family of four. The kids got burgers and they were HUGE and delicious. My husband and I both got the half sandwich, soup or salad and pie deal and were so happy we did. The salad was really great with carrot shavings and even peas. I had the chili and it was great. We also had a taste of the cream of mushroom and it tasted homemade and delicious. By the time dessert came around, we were so full that we asked for our desserts to go. Marionberry poppyseed cake rocked my world and the carrot cake was dreamy! Even the bathroom in this place is awesome. Really well kept and modern."
"Brix still got it ~ plenty of space & seating, tasty pizza, nice cocktail list. Fun HH that keeps you ordering one more. Calamari over fried. Beer tap selection mostly domestic, wished they had more unique craft.Friendly service, attentive and said thank you at the end.Sports tavern with upscaled grub."
"Hmmmmm.... I cannot classify this as a Dive Bar. I've been to a generous handful in my day, and this is upscale divey if not a classy dive bar. It is a gem and I had a great time visiting here with my daughter and her friends from UP. I remember seeing the MCT the first time we dropped her off as an entering freshman and I told her, "when you turn 21, we are going there". She is ready to graduate so it was a likely choice to stop by and grab a beer to celebrate. The staff is friendly and truly welcoming. We had so much fun watching the Blues Band that was playing, I didn't want to leave. The prices are reasonable, the interior is fun, and the overall vibe just wants you to order one more drink. We ordered a few appetizers for the table which were also good for bar food. The bartender treated us to some pudding shots... never had one, thought they only came in Jello ... oh my, so good, strong, and on the house. Thank you! We will be back, as we have a new Pilot in the house, giving me 4 more years to visit and have some fun at MCT."
"This was my first time visiting the G-Man. I hurried in and out as fast as I could. During my stay I noticed a big wheel in the establishment. I asked one of the bartenders what it was for and she informed me that the week of your birthday you get a free spin and can win prizes. There's also other opportunities to spin and win. I was in a hurry so I sat at the bar, because not only do you get the best service ever, food comes out faster as do the drinks. I had the absolute privilege of meeting the very brand new bartender and she was amazing..ly incredible. She was busting her butt and keep up like it was nothing. We had the chance to speak briefly before I had to run back to work. Go here, sit at the bar get to know her. She has one of those names that if i spelled it out for you I could do it incorrectly. I had a black and blue burger, medium rare with Cajun tots. The tots, they were nothing special. The burger, that was the star of the show. That, and the bartender whose name I shall not spell out for you. Butt, back to that burger. It was amazing! It was juicy, it was spot on temperature wise. The toppings were amazing. The bun was light and fluffy. At the end of it, the bartender tried upselling me on something sweet and delicious. She tried and tried again she did, and I held back. I'm proud of myself. I told her, maybe next time. This bartender was relentless and crafty. She said she's going to get me. Maybe she will. I say, challenge accepted. I let her know I will be back, and I will bring friends. There's two things you walk away from after you've been out to an establishment. The food is the first thing, but it's small in comparison. The second things is the person who waited on you and how they treated you. I was fortunate to find a diamond in the rough. I was also extremely fortunate to find s place near my work that has decent food. As a former Elite member of Yelp from 2012, where Ashton Kutcher's cousin's best friend's from high school's commented on one of my posts, I can say that this place is The Place, and the food is The Food. You cannot lose with this option in the area. Seriously people you must eat here."
"Awesome drag brunch!!! Strippers, drag, great food, and makes you feel included in the whole experience!! Only recommendation would be to play music in between performers for less silence"
"This was a really great find by the honey on a day when we had a ton of time before our flight and a couple pieces of luggage to carry round.Enter in The Society Cafe. We ended up getting a few herbal iced teas as well as some canned cider, soda, lacroix, and some tasty coconut drop pastries which we were able to bring up onto the mostly empty rooftop. Essentially killing time until a reasonable hour for us to leave to the airport. The rooftop is lovely and if you're visiting, you should definitely ask to see it. There were spots that had shade and quite a few spots with sun, so it was an all around very lovely seating space surrounded with pampas grass. The Society Cafe is technically a hotel with attached bar/cafe and it boasts a few rooms and some hostel style bunks, but we originally chose it for the fact it carried coconut milk. However, some places find it hard to keep it in stock and tend to run out and the Society Cafe was no different - so I ended up just getting a few teas and sodas. While the bathroom is downstairs, we usually just ordered more drinks when we needed the facilities, and everything considered it was a really nice way to spend a few hours. We will definitely keep them in mind when we're back staying in the area!"
"You know, I always forget just how many locations around Portland this place has. For some reason I've yet to be to this one until today when we were in the mood for a late lunch, but really just incredibly expensive croissant. Now I'm not saying that in a bad way don't give me wrong. I've been known to buy the massive packs from Costco and down them like a duck next to a pond. But when you see these beautifully twisted beautifully flavored croissants, you know it's a different level. I do a lot of baking and I've yet to make croissants never been great at dealing with layered butter, so I can really respect the beauty that they put here. I mean when you look at the pistachio or the fruit flavored ones they look too beautiful to eat.On a sidenote, if you look in the photo I put down it seems like somebody is really slacking on the pastry department. I mean the French macarons were just sloppy and some blown out, the Pavlova could not have been shaped worse, and overall the edge is on so many of the dessert just look sloppyI mean, I'm sure they all tasted delicious but when you're paying 6,7,8 dollars for something from here, you're really kind of want it to be that beautiful pitch perfect that it normally is. This isn't the normal experience and I also didn't order any of those but just an odd thing to notice. Our order and our service and having an open table in the sun on the last day before the rain starts was an absolute five star experience."

We really liked this restaurant on a visit to Troutdale. Happy Hour options are really great! Service was really nice and they have a huge menu.I got the veal parmesan with risotto. It was great, but not what I was expecting. Not marinara sauce. The risotto was ok. The ceal was perfectly breaded and cooked.Hubby got the chicken parmesan and really liked it. The others in our party ordered the meal for two off the happy hour menu and really liked all that they got. Especially for the price. The only issue we had was with the appetizers. The bread that they serve is essentially under toasted white bread with a bit of seasoning. It did hold up well to the (cold) artichoke dip and bruschetta.I did recommend this restaurant to my family who lives in the area and I would go back when I visit. The happy hour menu can't be beat!

This is a great option if you are wanting a weekend brunch place that doesn't have a wait and has easy nearby parking. Pre-Covid I am sure this was not true, but sadly The Pearl is not what it used to be, which in this case worked to our advantage. We dined here at prime brunch time on a Saturday. I had made a reservation, but it really was not necessary, as it was not that busy. We ordered the Pearl Benedict, and the Frienze. I really enjoyed my omelette, but friend was disappointed in here Benedict as it said it came with brioche, but her's had the same boring piece of bread that came with my omelette. You expect an Italian place to have amazing bread but it was nothing short of what you get in the grocery store. Both dishes seemed very similar. The only difference is the Benedict had a poached egg, but the vegetables and the sauce seemed to be the same.

Craving waffles? Honeycupse is a welcoming food cart that offers both sweet and savory options to satisfy your desires. We ordered the Classic...A waffle with a generous amount of buttermilk fried chicken and syrup. The fried chicken was perfectly seasoned and tender. Yum! We also tried the Avalon Clair which offered a delicious discovery in every nook and cranny...A waffle topped with lemon curd, and enchanting lavender cream cheese, and fluffy, airy whipped cream with poppyseeds. It delighted our sweet tooth. Eat outside, or take your waffles to go!

This place is great. Dive bar on riverfront property. Inside is great with mixed tables and some cool booths up high, so you can see the water. Patio looks heated and is right on the river. Parking is wonderful, big lot. Looks like they have a lot of specials, like a beer and a bowl (I assume soup, Chowder is on the menu), for like $8. We both got a burger, which is so big and meat tastes fresh, not frozen. And I believe was around $14-16 depending on sides, which there are many to choose from. Service can't be beat, the super friendly and fast blonde women we've seen here for years, is just the best. Chats when you'd like and is on the spot for refills and just makes it so awesome coming in, as she treats you like a good friend. I wouldn't call this a hidden gem, but, drive a bit further and get rewarded with an amazing place, like a mini vacation, but at a dive bar, haha.

Haven't been to Banning's for a while because it's always packed (I'm happy they have all this business) but we came in tonight after Mike's drive in was full. Food came out so fast, waited maybe ten minutes tops. My club sandwich and fries portion was massive, got leftovers! Fries were just out of the fryer and perfectly crisp. Our server was great as well, attentive but not clingy.

I've been here waaayyyy too many times to not give a 5star review! This restaurant is such a gem, right in the heart of Pearl District with a stellar happy hour, brunch and even a Football Game specials menu ($4 wings anyone!). The servers are attentive and happy and the food is delicious! Definitely worth the visit and one of my favorite places in Portland

"Great and friendly service. Beautiful interior with indoor and outdoor seating and even a to-go window! The ricotta pancake was presented beautifully! I could only finish third of it since it was such a large portion! The magic mocha was delicious!"
"What's up: While I was planning for our trip, this place came up several times as a recommendation, so I had to add it to the list. Plus, it helps that we like eggs!Parking: Street parking. We parked on SE 36th Ave and had a short walk over. Environment: When entering, go towards the right and place your order at the counter. The menu is displayed on the right side of the wall. Once you ordered, take the number counter and pick a table to sit at; food will be brought to you when ready. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. The restroom is located to the left of the order counter. Condiments and water are located near the trash collection area on the left side of the building; not too far from the entrance. Staff members were friendly and super pleasant. What was ordered:- 'Rito Suave (yummy, love the aioli)- Egg Zeppelin (very flavorful)- Sriracha Mix-A-Lot (pretty good)- Hash Bite (comes with yummy dipping sauce...Magic Spud Sauce!)Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. The food was delicious. Something simple made extra yummy with all the different flavors. I loved all the creative names they came up with for the menu. It was definitely worth a visit! Yummy :) Credit cards are accepted."
"Are turkeys big chickens or small ostriches? That is what I want to know! Fortunately our first arrivers to the Americas figured out they are good eating! Just a note, ostrich is very tasty, more like beef tenderloin than chicken. Turkey-centered restaurants range from the famous Fry's Turkey Ranch https://www.yelp.com/biz/fry-brothers-turkey-ranch-trout-run-2 to one or two left from Portland's pre-foodie era.The Turkey Place is in the ground floor retail space of the City motor pool garage. It goes for functional over fancy, and taste over trends, you are not going to find food towers, or sauce squiggles. The price is very reasonable.I had the turkey meal. It was sized right. The star is the gravy. It is very tasty. This is a small family-run restaurant for eat-in or carry-out I'm glad to support in our time of vacant office buildings downtown. Did I say tasty? Yes I did!"
"We went to Bees Knees as a party of 3 at 10:00 AM on Saturday. We were able to be seated right away, and had a lot of fun checking out all of the Betty Boop decor! It was so clean and well organized. I ordered a Chicken Caesar wrap with a side of fries. This was so simple and good! Whatever they season their chicken with is wonderful. I ordered my wrap with no tomatoes. I would be happy to order this again. I love how unique this place is-did you know they have a fry of the month? Our waitress was lovely and she even did the Betty Boop makeup! This was such a fun way to start a day in Portland. We will absolutely be back!"
"First off, very dog friendly. It seems that the coffee they use is Juniors. Roasted here in Portland. Short drive from my house, so I can maybe hangout here. Big breakfast selection looks good. Pannini's. Big inside, but empty. Not enough locals?? To make a bigger review, I would have to study every little thing behind the counter, taste every sip of the coffee's, etc....So, I liked the place and thats what matters to me."
"**April 2024: Monday Late Morning Visit**Fancy IKEA Food! lol Portland, has some really cool food spots and I wanted to add this one to my itinerary. My friend and I visited on Monday morning and found street parking. The area is pretty hipster and funky. There were a couple of people dinning indoors and we sat near the window. After pondering over the menu for a bit we decided on the following items. Lost Eggs ($16) - Soft Baked Eggs, Creamed Spinach, in a cast iron skillet - it was good. We picked the mushroom version, but I agree if that the ham version might give a slightly more saltier taste to it/ Ableskiver ($10) - Danish Pancake Balls with Ligonberry Jam and Lemon Curd - delicious, just as pancake balls should be.Smoked Trout Radicchio Salad ($16) - Winter Radicchio with House Caesar Dressing; maybe this is the least Scandinavian, but I really enjoyed this as I hadn't had much leafy greens on this Pacific North West trip.Overall, my friend and I both enjoyed all the dishes and the three items were a good portion for two hungry travelers. Enjoy!"
"Super cute feel-good diner with great atmosphere and vibes. Decor is very unique and fun. Keep in mind cash only!! Food- very mediocre, lacked any type of flavor and everything soaked in grease. Cinnamon roll was probably the best thing we got at the table. Fun place but food is not good and overpriced."
"Hole in the wall spot that one of our friends found! I noticed that there were not a lot of reviews or pictures, so coming here was a leap of faith. Bring cash or pay Kuto/venmo (venmo will cost you an extra 25 cents) as they do not take card. For parking, there was plenty of street parking. The food truck has two tables where you can sit and enjoy your meal. I am glad we checked it out and tried most things. I got the morning muffin and it has fish (and I love fishy fish) so just be aware when you order. I liked the English muffin itself and how large and fluffy it was. I used the hot sauce to add some heat and I thought it was a nice light breakfast. Our other friends got the solar sando and the twilight tasty, and they preferred it more than the morning muffin. The owner said the solar sando is his signature English muffin. We shared the rise and shine French toast and we really liked the combination of corn flakes, orange and maple syrup. It was made of English muffins instead of regular toast so it was pretty unique. We really liked the maple syrup (Massachusetts maple syrup) that came with it, the owner said he had just brought it from the east coast! Dawnbringer is a cool and unique spot for its fresh English muffins. The owner was super nice too so it is worth checking out!"
"We stopped in on a Sunday morning. I thought It would be like most places in the city and jammed. It was not. We arrived shortly after opening and found it mostly empty. You place your order at the counter and they call your number when it's ready. The food was tasty and quick. It has a pub atmosphere so it might be fun in the evenings as there is a full bar. It may be good in the evening and the next day if you feel like a little Irish for your coffee.Bathrooms require a key and are outside and around the corner. All in all a good stop and I would definitely stop again."
"Great quick & casual lunch spot located in the back of the Moxy hotel. You order on a touch screen and receive a text when the food is ready. Ambiance of the hotel is great with good music, a bar, and indoor seating. We ordered the adobo chicken which was sooo tasty and filling. The chicken was well seasoned and fell right off the bone. It was delicious and plenty of food for two of us to split."
"Great drinks, great company, and has food. What more can you ask for?Location: One of the only places open late in the area that serves food. They have free street parking in the area.Food/ drinks: I ordered the chicken tenders and they were your standard chicken tenders. I also ordered a long island that was made to perfection. Drinks are also reasonably priced. I will say it is one of the only places in the area that serves food very late at night. I went around 11 PM. Service: The bartender was super friendly and nice. She made my drink quick and was very diligent about checking in on me. She took the time to talk and get to know me as well (always a plus).Overall, a great dive bar to go to for late-night food and drinks."
"First time at the Pearl location, been to the one on SE Burnside countless times. The wait time to be acknowledged and dropping of the bill was very long, and there was no asking if I needed anything. Waaa, waaa, first world problems I know. The Migas tart with ample side salad was worthy, I'd order it again."
"Carmelize, crispy carnitas + homemade corn tortillas = flavor sensation! Topped with chopped onion, fresh cilantro and lime, served piping hot and freshly made to order, these tacos are legit! Wow! After visiting the location at Bite on Belmont, I was thrilled to discover they had a brick & mortar location close to my hood. Definitely some of the best Mexican food in Portland, everything is fresh and flavorful. Their creamy avocado hot sauce is delicious and i Want to put it on everything. Especially the breakfast burrito. Inside is clean, bright, lots of natural light with a window facing street. Plenty of simple tables and chairs if you want to eat there. Service is friendly. Yay!"
"Randomly looked for this place for a quick breakfast. And this turned out to be very nice. I only tried dishes with eggs (no ham, no bacon) - and breakfast items were very nice. Ambience is good too and service is quick."
