Lawrence C. "While I was visiting Portland, Interurban was a bar/restaurant I visited to get a late dinner after I arrived in the city. The place wasn't too crowded even though I came on a Friday night, and I was able to get a seat at the bar within 5 minutes or so (although there may be more of a wait for larger groups). The bartenders and servers were welcoming, and they were pretty friendly to chat with. I decided to try out the Smoked Trout BLT since that sounded pretty unique and also some of the PNW Oysters on the Half Shell. While the items are on the pricier side, I was pleasantly surprised by how well the Smoked Trout went with the rest of the sandwich. I typically haven't eaten smoked fish often, but the flavors in this were great and it was definitely a combination that I hadn't had before. The oysters were fresh and I also enjoyed them quite a bit, but the main star was definitely the BLT.If you want a quick bite to eat in Portland, Interurban is a good one to try out!"

They have an extensive list of dishes that can be made gluten free.We dropped in on a surprisingly slow Saturday (around 12:30pm). There was only one other table that was dining in. The inside is funky with a fireplace (right at the front), an electic range of clock decor and a plethora of Keane paintings adorning the walls. Service was excellent and friendly. The breakfast menu consists of eggs, pfannkuchen and mehr, waffles, house made smoked sausages, burgers and pastas. Dishes are $10.00 USD to $18.00 USD. - Sausage scramble-house made turkey sausage, sautéed peppers with potato rosti and toast ($14.00 USD) - opted for the pumpernickel, which was nicely toasted, yet still soft. Everything on the dish was tasty. Turkey sausage was delicious and the potato rosti silky. Eggs were nicely done and had a good amount of red peppers mixed in.- Apfelschmarrn ($14.00 USD) - Austrian pancake (cut into small pieces) oven baked with an apple cinnamon compote. Smelled like apple pie. Warm, comforting and not too sweet.Cozy, comfort food at TSI."

Mercedes C. "For a chain/strip mall location/industrial-type restaurant with exposed ceiling pipes, lots of seating and tasty bites, WildFin was a very good spot for lunch after driving my daughter to this area so she can catch up on errands in Beaverton. Wild Fin serves up a nice mix of seafood dishes- and I don't mean 2 options only. Despite their name, these folks also have beef, poultry and pork items. For my kid and I, it was about the seafood since we're both Pescatarian. My daughter went for the 3 for $33 deal with appetizer+main plate+dessert and selected the shrimp+artichoke+scampi-ish with a silky cream sauce to start. That appetizer was love at first bite! She also enjoyed her salmon dish as well and donut dessert with a maple+butter sauce. I mean...for a packaged deal, her bites were wholesome. My Ahi Tuna+mixed green main plate was a lot- so much so, I reserved half of it to eat on the plane the following day heading home. Service from our server Evin was incredible- and I still got to enjoy a Happy Hour cocktail even when we didn't sit at the bar because she'd made special seating accommodations at a regular table instead of high-tops with my daughter in mind since she's recovering from surgery. From a quick lunch meal to a girls or guys hangout- no problem- WildFin has it covered with very nice prices."

I love Gimbap and it's cool they made it into such an interactive experience here. The actual set up of the restaurant is one of the best I've ever come across. It truly feels like you're at someone's house, and love how big and spacious the patio area is. This is truly the perfect place for a nice dinner in the summer. Martin W. "Jennifer and her husband owns this nice corner restaurant for over 25 years. And there is a good reason for it. And the reason is a very simpleOne: they serve good food. - You can have Italian food almost on every corner in the USA. - you will find nicer and more "Italien" feeling places But at Bucas you will find Italien inspired food with a personal touch in service and an experienced influence of good flavor. It's a great Neighboor restaurant you want to go to. We had Bruschetta with goat cheese and caramelized onions and bruschetta shows you if the chefs understands the concept of one bite. In Bucas they do and that bite is so good. And I learned through the years it's important to be risky sometimes and order items you normally would not and so I'll be ordering the soup of the moment: Soups toscana with spicy Italian sausage - and I don't like sausages that much especially Italians can have very strong spice profile. But this soup was an experience and one in every way a very good experience. Instead of the typical Italian soups that mostly are clear this one was cream based and so tasteful without overwhelming into any spice hikes. Just delicious. As main, there was the salmon pasta and the Chicken Marsala both made with fresh ingredients and the salmon made to perfection. Did we have dessert, yes - I could not resist and I ordered another bowl of soup - can you imagine? Yes, it was that delicious. The husband and wife owners deserve five stars even when the paper napkins would have been way cooler if they had been replaced with fabric ones. And a side note: they do not serve espresso. And there is a simple reason for it a Starbucks is just a couple of entrances away. And they have in their Corporate rental agreement that there are no espresso makers allowed in the same house/building or block. Tbh I can understand this from a Starbucks corporate viewpoint - with that brand I would want to have the same in my rental agreements. If you allow it you will have fastly others to follow and you want to be the only one in the block to protect the brand and revenue. But the thing is Starbucks at this location close at 4 pm and Buca doesn't even is open at that time. I wish there would be a way to find a solution for local situations like this to make an exemption. Cause what is an Italian restaurant without an espresso machine."

Nancy H. "What a great little place!Right on the edge of Chinatown, just a step beyond the Chinese gateway, lies the Hoxton Hotel. The area outside is a bit "sketch", as they say (similar to our Chinatown here in Vancouver, BC, sadly), but this hotel seems super cute, and the lobby is really cute. On the rooftop of this hotel is the Tope restaurant, and my kid and I dined here the evening of Cinco de Mayo (which was so fitting, as this is restaurant serves Mexican cuisine, in smaller plates, like a tapas style). I was really impressed by the outdoor patio and the view of the city. This patio is large and would be phenomenal to dine here on a summer evening! Lots of string lights and comfy seats, and a view that's fabulous! The interior of the restaurant is also pretty cool, with a large, square, central table with a fire pit in the middle (my kid and I sat at this table), as well as a casual counter along the wall along the whole restaurant perimeter, so you can sit and see the city skyline wherever you sit. There's a full bar and they serve amazing artisan cocktails. I forget what I ordered but it was beautiful and pink and delicious. My kid loved her cocktail as well. And the food! SO SO good. I was a little worried as I can't tolerate hot or spicy foods, but everything we had was so flavorful without being spicy. We ordered the ceviche with shrimp (our favorite dish! SO good), a chicken dish (I forget what it was, but it was delicious), the charred peppers (very tasty. My kid loved them and had had them before on a prior visit here), and our delicious cocktails. The plates were perfect for sharing and, if we hadn't been planning to go out for dessert afterwards, we probably would have ordered another dish or two. But our three dishes were the perfect amount for a light dinner, and we thoroughly enjoyed them. Our server was very helpful in advising us about the drinks and the dishes, knowing I can't do spiciness. And she was attentive and friendly, too. Bonus!Great spot for a lovely dinner! We've been coming here for years but they've tightened up their game recently, revamped the menu and spiffed up the interior a bit, and the dishes and flavors are more consistent these days. We usually get one of the stir fry's, and my recent Pad Prik King order was especially tasty, with just the right amount of heat and garlic and plenty of meat. Pro tip: this is pretty universal but if you order takeout the portions are usually smaller than what you'd get if you dined there. And you should dine there: it's a pleasant, cozy atmosphere inside considering there's a strip mall outside, they have beer, wine and even some mixed drinks, and the servers are all super nice and patient.Usually plenty of parking, too."

I'm more of a taco stand verse Mexican restaurant person growing up where I grew up in Southern California. It's just what I was used to was quick and cheap food rather than the big warm plate Mexican restaurant style. Here was very much so stereotypical Mexican restaurant, huge portions, tons of cheese and a massively huge menu.We probably should've just gotten one item and split it, but we ended up bringing home an incredible amount of food even though I ate till I was stuffed. The super nachos were very good. We went with the Pastor store of course the best meat. Chips when they bring them to the table come out warm so we knew the nachos were gonna be good. We split the three item combo anytime I can try a Chile Relleno I do. Sometimes you regret it cause it's a little bit greasy and a little bit off, but this one was absolutely "perfectly with just the most insane amount of cheese in there as you can see by this 4 foot cheese pull in the photo. Of course I'm a huge green sauce fan so we went with an enchilada to go along with that with the chili Verde and have the chili Verde sauce poured all over everything. Our last item was a tostada because why not have all of your carbs deep-fried as well. I mean, if there was an option to deep fry the enchilada, we probably would've done as well.Service here was absolutely amazing. It's a really good spot and it rivals La Carreta which says a lot! In both portion and quality. Honestly, unless you want a ton of leftovers and a crazy amount of stuff, a three item combo will easily feed to normal people."

Jason V. "Despite its glamorous interior and upscale ambiance, this is a family-owned joint, or I'll eat my hat. It may feel more Masa and Pompette than Mom and Pop, but thankfully the prices, while a bit closer to the Michelin scale than I would like, are justified by an equivalent level of excellence in execution and edible enjoyment. My wife and I split the Pollo (con) Crema, a side of guac, two bowls of the obligatory chips and salsa, and a (small) watermelon margarita roomy enough for multiple goldfish. I've never had anything the like of our main entrée at a Mexican restaurant, as both its flavor and texture were seemingly more Italian-inspired, but it was still quite enjoyable: creamy, buttery, filling without being heavy. Scanning the menu, it was easily (in my humble opinion), the most "unusual" item on the menu, in comparison to the rest. It may not be what everyone is looking for when coming to a Mexican cocina, but we certainly enjoyed it.The salsa is a little on the watery side for my preference, but the flavor can't be argued with. And my wife's sizeable margarita lived up to expectations and its price tag. Service was as close to perfect as you can get: we were greeted by an eminently friendly, warm and welcoming older gentleman who I *assume* is the owner, as anyone still working at his age either has a passion, or personal investment, in their chosen career, or both; and our primary server, other than being a little difficult to track down at the end of the meal, couldn't have been better.Mi Cava & Cocina claims to be the end result of 30 years of family recipes, brought into the spotlight, and it certainly feels that way. It straddles the line between modern and matronly, familiar and fashionable, comforting and chic. On this first visit, my wife peeked behind the curtain into the kitchen, and sampled some of the chef's home-cooked classics. Next time, we'll have to give the more "traditional" cuisine a go as well, to see if it lives up to abuelita's standards and reputation. I have no doubt it will."

Service was slow, they are definitely understaffed as of this writing. At least when our drinks came it made the long wait for the food more bearable. The stars of the orders were the opened face albacore tuna sandwich topped with peppers. It was flavorful and very filling. As was the Caprese sandwich served on ciabatta. My friend who ordered the elk sausage said it was fantastic. Unfortunately me and another friend ordered the Italian sandwich and it was barely edible. Served on a thick baguette that was stale and dry, I couldn't get it down. Just a few slices of meat, tomato, and two pieces of spinach it was far from satisfying. But I was hungry! So I ordered a side salad which was a bowl of fresh spinach and one single olive with oil and vinegar bottles brought to the table. I discarded the top of baguette, added lots of spinach drizzled with oil & vinegar to add needed moisture and flavor, and did my best to get some of it down. For $22, it was dismal. All the sandwiches were served with a huge portion of kettle chips, so many that we combined the leftovers into a takeout box for car snacks.Beers and hard cider come in 10, 16 or 22 oz sizes and were all good. Our waitress warmed up to us eventually, we even managed to make her smile and chuckle. Never understand why places that can charge a premium because they have a fabulous view get lazy with the food.
