"The smoke pouring out of the giant smoker out front is intoxicating, even if you are driving by in a car. Having lived in the neighborhood for many years, I've been to Reo's a few times. When the ribs are moist and juicy, they are some of the best in Portland. But when they are over cooked and dry, they are like leather. It's this inconsistency that saddens me and makes me hesitant to go back. During these Covid times, I understand that restaurants have difficulty gauging demand and that could impact the quality. But customers who are supporting businesses, have to decide where to spend their limited funds. I feel especially bad for Reo's after having experienced a fire that destroyed their business, only to rebuild then be hit with the pandemic and the senseless violence and destruction in Portland. Their once beautiful building is now covered in graffiti and is surrounded by a fence in an attempt to protect the business and allow them to continue cooking for customers. I'll give them another chance, but when I have time to go in person and make sure my beef ribs are fresh off the smoker."
"I am amazed at the proliferation of food carts the past few months on the 48th/50th Street blocks of Division, one of which is LeRoy's.Just two weeks ago I declared that Cheese Bar was my new go-to place in the neighborhood for sandwiches. That's still true, but now add LeRoy's as one of my favorite sandwich places.I was the first customer when Leroy's opened at noon today (open daily 12-7). I placed an order for a Beef Brisket BBQ sandwich, a chicken Po Boy and a side of mac & cheese to take home.As I waited in the cold pouring rain (a typical June day in Portland, it seems) for my order I took a look around the premises. I was curious what kind off business was operating inside the permanent structure on the property. It was hard to tell if it was a junkyard or a plumbing shop. On a ledge next to two burned out fluorescent tubes rested a toilet seat. Near the "Honey Bucket" was a gutted toilet and a crumbling box of plumbing joints.I'm not really sure what the difference is between LeRoy's BBQ sandwiches and their Po boys. Both come in pork, beef or chicken. Both come topped with a perfect mix of chopped cabbage and sliced scallion. Both come on toasted bread. Both have the most excellent barbecue sauce: sweet, but not too sweet, smoky, a little tangy and even a little spicy hot.But most importantly, both sandwiches are stunningly delicious!! The mac and cheese (shell pasta) was pretty good. Served in a little Chinese take-out box emblazoned with a red pagoda, the cheddary mac & cheese was, I felt however, a bit too garlicky and a bit salty.Other sides to try include: black-eyed peas, collard greens, green beans and coleslaw. Also, you can get barbecued chicken thighs, and of course, barbecued ribs."
"Botto's makes a wonderful lunch destination. Service is quick, and the atmosphere is a perfect match for the food. Plastic trays, paper cups, and wax paper serving as plates were wonderfully appropriate for delicious comfort food.A bit of research will go a long way before paying a visit. Botto's is closed Monday and Tuesday, and every other day has a different special available. Fortunately, their regular selection of burgers, sandwiches, and sides will make any carnivore happy, as long as it isn't Monday or Tuesday. Based on other reviewers, I apparently made a good choice by showing up midday, since they seem to sell out on a regular basis. Considering the quality of what I had for lunch, I'm not surprised."
"I've driven by this Hawaiian-food restaurant at least a couple hundred times, yet I had never popped in to actually try it. They have strange hours; mainly late morning to about five pm, which is typically outside my schedule. They focus mainly on catering, but do have a small dining area in the front of the building. I decided to try it out, since there aren't any other Hawaiian food places that I know of in North Portland. I got the chicken rice plate with a double order of mac salad. The chicken was grilled with a nice layer of char, and lightly sweetened with a hint of spice. It was good quality chicken and they gave me quite a large portion, on top a bed of rice. The mac salad was nice and creamy, with large macaroni noodles. Again, huge portions and even with a single side I would have been satisfied. The price for this with a Diet Coke? 10.25. Yup, you read that right, only $10.25. Considering the portion size and the quality, I am very impressed and believe it's a good bargain. The service was very nice also, and my waitress was attentive and checked frequently on us. The dining area is minimal, they do not serve alcohol, and I don't believe they have wi-fi. It's definitely no-thrills, but if you want good food at a reasonable price it delivers. They also do to-go orders over the phone or online, and offer a deal where you get a free meal if you order ten times online. My only critique is their fairly limited hours, and wishing they could be a bit more flexible for the traditional crowd. But I also understand they focus more on catering rather than dine-in."
"So I pay money to cook my own food ? Alright then ! This place had been on my bookmarks for years and one fine evening when we were particularly hungry we decided what better day than today to stuff our faces . We came in on Sunday evening and there was a 20 minute wait before we were seated . Annoyingly there were plenty of open tables however . The setting is a little different than most Korean BBQ joints -its not all you can eat and keep that in mind before you go . The various meat options come with a price and you can pick what you like otherwise there is a couple mix n match combos as well . Menu also has a selection of a la carte Korean dishes . We got the BQ Combo and a side of Korean pancakes . The meats though limited in selection comes in huge quantity and it was definitely more than we can eat .The grill was a little wonky at first but turned out ok after a while . The combo comes with a bowl of rice , stew and side dishes -mostly pickled veggies .The pork bulgogi was our favorite . The good thing about the fixed menu is that you can take the rest of it to-go which most KBBQ place don't offer . Service is alright , they do what you ask for and that's about it . Wont come check up on you till you ask . we also got a traditional Korean drink that went very well with the food . Overall , I would say they are alright although ,I don't see myself returning anytime soon ."
"Sarah and staff were friendly and attentive. The chili and cornbread was great. The tri-tip sandwich was good but some big pieces of gristle. The waffle fries were excellent and I even enjoyed the homemade ranch which always has me worried.The atmosphere is quiet for Sunday at 1PM. There are televisions playing sports. There are limited tables and even more limited parking.The menu options for what I consider for typical bbq is missing at least on the lunch menu. I am curious about what's on the dinner menu. "Was craving kbbq while in Portland and opted for K-Town BBQ as it was one of the few options open during the day and time we were around. We showed up as a walk in for a group of 3. The experience started mid for us as the restaurant only had a few patrons dining, yet we waiting about 7 min before anyone even greeted us. No acknowledgement upon entering, no acknowledgement as someone walked past us. We just were kept standing there and I was about ready to leave. Finally we were greeted and brought to a booth style table. The menu is offered all you can eat style during which you can order 4 selections of meat at the same time before ordering the next round. Meats that we ordered included:- LA galbi : our favorite- bulgogi: very solid with great flavor- spicy bulgogi - same as the above bulgogi with a little heat- beef brisket: meat was very tough and we did not enjoy it- pork belly: solid, decent flavor, not too tough- melona soju cocktail: a bit too sweet for me but my partner enjoyed it - banchan: not great but not bad; decent"
"We came by right after opening on an overcast Sunday. We were the first hungry people in for lunch. There's not a lunch menu on Sunday, so we ordered off the regular menu.I ordered the lemongrass chicken, another of our group the crispy basil and another the red curry with chicken. Our table also ordered the shrimp salad rolls.All our dishes were wonderful and the salad rolls very fresh. Leftovers were brought home and I recommend this great Thai place. We'll return and try something else from their menu."

I had wondered about this place for a while and was excited to try it. I got the migas and smoked turkey tacos (both sans cheese). The migas taco was really sumptuous and had solid flavors. The smoked turkey although good just threw my tastebuds off since it gave me lots of Big Mac vibes with the burger toppings and mustard/mayo sauce. I would say both needed salsas which I think is actually a good thing since they were seasoned appropriately for salsafying. They were kind of pricey but also quite large. I felt the breakfast tacos would probably be a better deal in the future.

Visited Reo's again this weekend, my first time since their most recent re-opening. I love how they remodeled and also acquired the next door space for some seating. It's technically all takeout, but you can take your meal to the seating and enjoy it immediately. They were also super friendly. EVERYTHING WAS SO GOOD OMGI got the 5-meat sampler, which comes with 3 sides. These are very generous portions! I got brisket, catfish, chicken, and 2 kinds of pork ribs (babyback were my favorite), plus fried okra, yams, and mac&cheese. I've been eating good all weekend long. It was 3 meals' worth of food and all of it was excellent! I added just a tiny bit of salt to my fish but otherwise all the flavors were spot on. The sauce is perfectly smoky and not overly sweet, and the mac had just a perfect spice that didn't overwhelm it and enhanced the flavor. All the meats were cooked just right and so smoky good. I'm ready to order more!

Leroy's moved. Barely. It's in the lot with The Landmark Saloon. What Leroy's hasn't changed though is their food quality. Gosh darn it, it's still so magically delicious.I ordered the $6 burnt mac & cheese which included a choice of meat; the pulled pork was an excellent additive. The entire dish bursts with flavor. It's a tender, cheesy mess of calories, carbs & protein. If sour cream or chives isn't your liking make sure to let them know because it's part of the mac & cheese. Sriracha is a great way of adding that nice kick to a meal. Their $3 caesar salad is really good but small in portion.The only advice I give to customers is arrive at Leroy's during a non-peak time for The Landmark Saloon. It was probably 20-25 min before my food was ready. Drinking a cold, Sweet Tea vodka, from The Landmark, with a group of friends on a sunny day isn't so bad of a wait but if it were any other day I wouldn't be so patient. The guys are still cool dudes & their BBQ is outstanding.Well done, Leroy's. Well done.

Really wish I had placed an order online to reserve the meat. I didn't know that they would actually sell out but boy do they. When I went around 630, the majority of meats were out. They did still have the brisket and that was amazing. The meat was tender but if I were to order it again, I would only order the fatty pieces and skip the lean ones. The mac and cheese was extremely rich and decadent, which is how I like it. The smash burger was a great price and didn't taste oily. Service was quick and I will definitely come back early next time to try the other meats.

My husband would rate this 4 stars, he ate the entire Tri-Tip sandwich, looks too big, but he did! He ordered brisket sandwich. A good variety of BBB Sauce. The Hawaiian Macaroni Salad was tasty.I ordered the Quarter Rack Rib Rice plate. Side order of Island Slaw & Kale/Cabbage Kimchee. I rate mine 3 stars. Even though it was tasty all the way, it was like over-cooked, dry & tough! It came with 3 ribs, and was able to nibble (yes there was a knife & fork), using my fingers, only have room for 1 rib.Taking the rest of the ribs, & put them in soup to soften them up. By the time we were getting up to leave, I spotted an ant on my table!

"We wanted to try a different BBQ place just to see and TBH, this place kind of got me with their banana pudding. In fact, it's a must with every order and I will not share. It was so good. The first time we ordered a big shareable tray and not only was it fully loaded, but tasted great. Enough food for a couple days to be certain. I love deviled eggs, but I love them more with tasty brisket. We've enjoyed the variety of sides they have to choose from as well and love the crispy top on the mac n cheese. Their burgers are also super tasty. BBQ is kind of pricey in general but this is no more expensive than others and the portions are plentiful. They have lots of sauces to suite a variety of tastes. Everything has arrived in great condition with delivery as well. We'll continue to order food because it's been good consistently."

"I was surprised to see I hadn't left a review before because I've eaten here and had it delivered many times over the years. It's definitely close and they have a large variety of mains and sides. The main reason I come here is because they have big plates. You can get 3 meats with 2 sides and cornbread. We like to be able to just share rather than getting our own meal every time. Plus when you take someone out it's nice for them to enjoy their meal and still have a good amount left over for later. I would agree that the sides are not the most amazing but the meats are generally good quality and well cooked (like fall off the bone and not tough at all). We've always been happy with the sauce flavors for the meat and the portions are pretty standard for BBQ. We've found it pretty consistent and when dining in staff has always been pleasant. With delivery we've had no issues and it arrives just fine."
"I have seen advertisement for this place on Facebook and read a lot of good reviews already so I'm surprised I am the first one commenting on them on Yelp. I used to live in Hawaii years ago and recently just visited the islands. I'm picky about my Hawaiian food, and haven't found a lot of good Hawaiian food options in Portland. There are a few just not as close as this one. This place is ono. The guys running the cart were very friendly, and I could tell by the way they talked they were from the islands. All the food we ordered was great. My Mom who was born and raised in Waimanalo is also very picky about her Hawaiian food and said that the Kalbi ribs were some of the best she's had. I definitely would recommend this place, and to get there early because they sometimes sell out of items and leave once they have sold out. We ordered the two plate combos. My Mom got the hamburger steak and ribs with rice and mac salad. Like I mentioned before the Kalbi shirt ribs were amazing. The hamburger steak was smothered in a rich brown gravy that was delicious. Even the Mac salad tasted great. I ordered the garlic shrimp and Kalbi ribs with the pineapple coleslaw and rice. It was all so good. Bruddah T' is located in a gravel parking lot with a few other food carts and has lots of parking and shaded places to sit. I'm glad to see this place is open and taste great. We definitely will be back to try more food."

We initially wanted the hot pot, but we didn't think we would have enough time to enjoy it, so we opted for the Mongolian grill. There was your standard selection of meats and veggies to choose from.
