"Beautiful ambience, friendly service, free parking! If you're an Asian non/vegan like me I'm afraid you'll think you spent too much and didn't enjoy the flavors. But if you're open minded, why not try it!Not busy at all on a Saturday for lunch. Walked right in.Spent over $50 for party of 1"
"It's an A+++ from me! The salad rolls here are worth all they hype... so do me a favor and check them out next time you're driving north on 82nd. Also, I'll happily order the Chow Fun any day of the week. The wide noodle and chicken dish is very flavorful, and one order offers enough to serve two or three people! I do wish the onions were cooked a bit more, but I pick mine out and saute them in sesame oil and it adds a bit more flavor to the dish. (I'm a bit finicky when it comes to onion preparation in noodle dishes)WokShop Kitchen is very responsive when it comes to substitutions and special requests. They do a great job communicating with customers. More than once I've received a phone call from them clarifying my instructions on an order... I love that! Considering how busy they are, I find that level of customer service remarkable. Don't forget to order beverages. They have an extensive menu of bubble tea. I generally order their Thai tea and milk tea, and it doesn't taste like they use a powder to create the beverages. Their drinks taste fresh and delicious."
"Oma's was a win all the way and one of the most unique meals I have had in a while. The menu is super cool, influenced by hawker food of Singapore and Malaysia. Our waiter was awesome. He had a big personality and was so friendly that we felt like we were dining with one of our besties. I couldn't get enough of everything we ate but my favorite was the Salted Egg Yolk Curry Fries. These were insane. They were like In n Out fries on steroids. Be sure to get the char siu burnt ends with it.The Roti Canai was the yummiest, softest, warmest flatbread with a nice slightly salty flavor profile. The parsnip and squash curry to dip it in just warmed our bellies. We also loved the Sambal Terasi Udang and Wonton Mee. The dishes on the menu are all so different that you'll want to try everything, and you should!"
"Portland is known for its food cart scene and Phat Cart is the closest I got to experience that. One of my best friends recommended we meet here for a laid-back environment, an appetizing meal, and enjoyable drinks. This is a popular spot amongst college students and I can see why for their affordability and variation.Phat Cart has turned into a brick-and-mortar with two locations in Portland. The vibes near their PSU location emulate a cute place to unwind with friends over a meal. R&B echoes with wooden furniture and plants sprawled throughout. The brick-and-mortar is two floors with communal tables and tables for two. Everything is self-service--order and retrieve your items at the counter and grab your utensils and seats on your own. Even though you seat yourself, the ladies working the register were super friendly, and bubbly, and provided awesome recommendations! The only thing is our food and drinks came out super slow and staggered.I can see why this is a hot spot for students. The restaurant dishes up breakfast, lunch, and dinner items plus a happy hour. Known for their bentos and salads, that's what my friend got. My companion and I took advantage of their happy hour and got Takoyaki. Plus a free Chicken Dumpling from their Yelp Check-in Offer! To be honest, the quality of the food wasn't superb for us. It tasted mediocre; like it was frozen and heated up. The dumplings were plain, fried, and crispy. While the takoyaki was heavy on the batter, creamy from the sauce, and had a little bit of octopus. The flavors didn't stand out to us, so I wouldn't order it again.Looking for a cost-effective and favorable spot for college students? Phat Cart is that place! No longer a food cart but a restaurant, it's located in the heart of downtown Portland on SW College Street, with limited parking and walking friendly. We enjoyed our company and ambiance more than the food but glad we came. Be sure to check in for their deal!"
"My boyfriend said he's been coming here for years. The portions are the perfect amount of food. I love how there is options to grill Korean bbq. We were craving something soupy. We opted for the bulgogi & curry combo. The curry soup is a must try! I never had it any where else. The staff are super friendly and always refilled my banchan. I would definitely come back."
"This place is honestly pretty underrated - we went here on a Saturday dinner around 6:30pm aka supposedly prime dinner time and there were only 2 tables occupied. We got to sit in one of the nice hammock-like chairs and ordered 2 cocktails and 2 entrees to share for the 2 of us. We tried:Kyoto Fog - nice matcha flavor and the alcohol did not taste too strong. It was a nice touch to seePinkitini - very floral and fruity, light and refreshing drink with lychee but the lychee was not sweet at all (perhaps a bit watered down) for some reason.Million Dollar Shrimp Tom Kha Ramen - sooooo delicious! Coconut lemongrass soup with noodles that were just al dente and fresh shrimp. It is to no surprise this is one of the most popular dishes on the menuMoo Kra Tiem - garlic pepper pork. I do like the grilling of the meat and the spicy sauce, but the rice was way too mushy so that was a miss. This is one of their seasonal specials.Service is good as water refills were apparent and the servers were fairly attentive to take dishes away as needed. I would recommend this place if you want a place that serves good Thai/Korean inspired food and want a casual, not overly crowded dining experience."
"I haven't been the big ramen fan in my family, but that situation may not last. Our family paid a visit, knowing that I would be thrilled with the katsu chicken on their menu. Everyone else at the table had different ramen varieties, and the samples I tried of my wife's choice had me thinking about a return visit to try their signature dishes.Baku Umai is a casual space in a relatively new building, so the ambiance here is laid back, with splashes of local basketball and landmarks as decoration. Patrons order at the counter, and tables are well stocked with all the spoons, chopsticks, napkins, and anything else you're likely to need."
"Vancouver WA. Been here twice in a week. Pictures say it all. First time whole family. Expect a set gratuity if 6 or more. Pretty standard. The food was amazing. Everything was made with fresh ingredients and was well seasoned. M and I hit it a few days later and tried different dishes. Pretty sure.we are doing that again this week. It's that good."

This little gem is off broadway near my fav sushi spot. It's a small shop. Everything is made to order. If you don't want sammiches they have bento boxes you could order. Good option for folks who can't agree on one food spot to try. We ordered 3 sammiches in our party. I got avocado, Turkey and bacon. No onions, subbed pepper jack, and add bell peppers. It was delicious. Someone else got a build your own- hot pastrami w cheese. Last person got bulgogi steak. FYI this comes with all the toppings so if you want to keep to Asian flavors, ask them to remove everything you don't want or build your own. I loved my sammich until the last few bites. lol someone put a fat bit of raw onion in my sammich and it blew my whole palate. I tried the bulgogi meat and it was yummy but too salty and sweet for my preference. The person ordering this sammich hates Mayo so they asked if it came with it and asked for no mayo just in case. But didn't realize you get American toppings on it by default. So order without or build your own. Overall loved it. Will definitely come back. lol maybe go to my fav sushi spot and then pick up a sammich to go for later. It was worth the carb cheat meal. I loved the bread my sammich was on. They have glass cases in the entry way filled with random items and a ton of pictures. It keeps you busy while you wait for your food.

Scrumptious food, cozy setup, and friendly service. It's better to have a reservation else you might be able to get a seat on the bar counter. Small food menu, but everything we tried was delicious. The portions size is good for an adult. The tofu main course was heavenly. I would go back just for that. Bao is inviting and my name is on it during my next visit. I would recommend them to everybody who wants to experience vegan food scene in Portland. They are definitely a wise addition.

Before I dive into the nitty-gritty, I would like to give the biggest thanks to the staff. My grandpa had an unexpected accident while we were dining in. The staff was calm, helpful, and very much understanding. It was a lot of emotion and chaotic activity, but thankfully everything is fine. THANK YOU! Ok regardless I was going to pass on a stellar review. The food was fresh, the space was clean, and the staff was awesome (as you know). We got the coconut curry, broccoli beef, orange chicken, classic milk tea, and ube horchata. All of the entrees were packed! They're served in a to-go container because they know you'll have some for the next day. The ube horchata was a treat! Definitely worth getting for a dessert. Located in Portland,OR. Limited parking spaces. Indoor seating and takeout available.

Thank you Oma's Hideaway for coming to the rescue on the eve of 1-13 during the snowstorm that shut down PDX for the weekend. Luckily we braved the elements and got a two-top for dinner at Oma's.We enjoyed slushie shots (DO NOT SKIP THIS), the spicy katong laksa ($22), fall raita salad ($15), a wonton mee ($26), and oma's corn fritters ($12). The portions were small and everything was yum, but the vibes (music) and service (soooo friendly) definitely made the experience. We would love to return and try lunch or brunch.

I have passed by this place probably a million times when grocery shopping at Fubonn and not only was it until recently that I tried it. The Korean restaurant is located at the front, outside portion of the supermarket mall and has a big sign for you to notice it! Inside, there's plenty of tables, and you can either order specific dishes or BBQ.I've come here twice now and every time the service has been amazing, and the food has been delicious. I love the banchan here too! Although they have a lot of other similar dishes to many Korean restaurants in the area (and do it just as well), one of my favorite dishes that is often difficult to find in Portland is samgyetang--and they have it here! It is the perfect soup for when you are feeling under the weather and is so good. I highly recommend this spot.

WHEN: Sat @11amCame here cuz my cousin with 2 little girls love it here and recommended we meet here for lunch. I can see why they love it here. It's lovely and well decorated with plenty of seating and cocktail options for adults to appreciate, and a play area for kids to play in. So being the first party to dine in, we were seated right next the play area!Since we wanted to do family style, we wanted to make sure we ordered dishes that the girls can eat too. Here's what we ordered:BEEF BULGOLGI BOWL - $18Korean style stir-fried marinated thin sliced rib-eye with garlic and onion and sesame over rice with sides of jalapeno and kimchi.Meat was tender but my partner thought the rice was dry. I thought it was fine overall, even though I'd dint eat much of it.CHASU BOWL - $18Japanese marinated pork belly, sesame, sweet soy glaze, chashu egg, pickled cucumber, fukujinzuke, scallion, rice.I thought this was good! The pork belly was thinly sliced and had a crispy texture to it that seemed to be because of the sweet soy glaze. It wasn't dry and jerky-like and hte flavors were good. Egg was well enjoyed and there was plenty of rice!LARB POKE TUNA - $18Ahi tuna, roasted sesame, gluten-free soy, shallot, scallion, roasted brown rice powder, peppermint, avocado, arugula, rice, spicy Thai lime vinaigrette.I thought this was just okay. The tuna didn't taste very fresh but my cousin who ordered this seemed to enjoyed it. EDAMAME - $6Something for the girls to eat with their rice. It was a large plate of them so $6 was pretty decent!SIDE OF AVOCADO - $3The 4-year old really enjoyed the avocado from the Poke Tuna so we ordered a side of avocado to get her to eat more with her rice and edamame. It worked. After the girls ate they went straight to the play area, where my partner kept them company while I had 1:1 time with my cousin. It was such a wonderful time. Food was overall okay, but I appreciate the space Buranko provided for people to connect comfortably, even with kids. I'm honestly surprised how empty this place was on a Sunday. I think maybe it's because they don't serve brunch items like waffles and pancakes like I thought they would. Just lunch items, but hey, they have a variety of drinks and like 2 options of dessert.

"I've visited a lot of other carts in the Mississippi pod but had always passed this one by bc it looked to me from the colors, design and name to be just another low quality teriyaki/fusion style pan Asian cart. But upon closer look I saw they offered some interesting stuff like chicken feet and Laotian jerky so I had to try. - Chicken feet: I'm not a huge chicken feet guy but I still like to try the different styles of chicken feet. These tasted like they were steamed a little and then fried a little w/ lemon pepper seasoning. I liked these better than Chinese chicken feet (which I find to be cold & soggy) but still not as much as Korean chicken feet which are just spicy AF to disguise the fact ur eating chicken feet. If you haven't had chicken feet before don't be expecting some delicious meaty delicacy, you are chewing on toes, but hey it's a fun drinking snack.- Laotian beef jerky: very good, served w/ fish sauce for dipping and rice. Has a nice dry rub on it that makes it taste more like steak than jerky.- Crispy rice ball fried rice: interesting to try, pretty good but I prefer more Chinese style fried rice.I've had plenty of Thai & Vietnamese food of course but think this was my first time trying Laotian, it was very good, similar but a little different."
"Didn't get to dine in the space but ordered ahead for dinner on a weekend and only a 15-20 minute wait. By the time we came to pick up the order was already ready which was great! There were some spots in the front but driving around it looks like there might be parking in the back? Will need to check another time. | WHAT WE ORDERED | + Mongolian Beef + House Fried Rice + Chicken Lo Mein Noodles + Salt & Pepper Squid I saw the wontons & chili sauce and hot & sour soup on the menu so I have those bookmarked to try another time. For the above it was ~$60 with tip so not the cheapest Chinese food around but it can last two people 2-3 meals each so not too bad when you think of it that way. _________________All of the items were really solid to order! The squid came in longer/thicker strips but had a great crisp and was still crispy hours later. The house fried rice was seasoned well and had nice chunks of the various proteins and was not skimpy at all. The mongolian beef was your standard but the cuts were on the thinner side. Nice veggies and crunch but might try another beef next time. Lastly the noodles had me hesitant at first as they were on the lighter side but after trying them they had good flavor and paired well with the chicken. Overall $60 does sound pricey but the items were good and had nice portions where the price was justified."
"Atmosphere: Very bright and decoratively lit atmosphere with a full bar and bar seating too. Really like the atmosphere for a Thai restaurantFood: Food was delicious. Everything we got was excellent. One of my favorite Thai restaurants in the cityPrice: Prices were reasonable for sit-downService: Service was pretty goodParking: Street parking. There's spots available near there"
"Been a few times now and I am happy to share my accolades - this place is legit. Unfortunately, I am a creature of habit so I have only had a few things off the menu but I determined to have more. Pho Ga - best in Portland. That broth will bring you back from the dead - clean and delicious. Bun Thit Ga Nuong - the char on that chicken is perfect. The dish is light and just blasting with flavor. Deceptive spice in the sauce, beware.Ohhh this is now: Chi Em Mekha Grill. The inside has more chill vibe. The drinks were impressing -looking... next time!!!!"
"Food here was probably the best chinese I have had!5 star for food for sure but location and ambiance was meh. It's in a strip mall on 82nd in Happy Valley so if I hadn't read a review in Portland Monthly I would NEVER have known ot given this place a chance. I wanted to knock down a star for that, but I would rather have amazing food at a good price than a fancy location and be charged twice as much.Portions were huge and defintely family sharing friendly. We came here with friends and ordered a few different dishes and I highly encourage you to try things that you wouldn't normally order. As the name suggests, this is Sichuan style food and different than your regular chinese american over sauced cheap chinese. Somethings we ordered were standard because I have a child who wanted chow mein and I myself wanted to try the dry cooked string beans, which can be found at other places but this version was not overly saucy or greasy and def had a kick to them, so I was a fan.We had the Cumin Lamb and it did not taste gamey at all but was thinly sliced tender lamb seasoned with cumin and and chili seasoning that was spicy and full of flavor but not burning hot. It was so good and I highly recommend it!! My friend also ordered a kung pao chicken which is kinda a standard dish but she said it was the best she had ever had.My daughter also ordered the Golden egg yolk tofu, thinking it was firmer and was not happy with the texture as the egg sauce had a bit of graininess to it. HOWEVER, I had some for breakfast and it was so yummy, the silky tofu and egg was a wonderful substitute for eggs with toast this morning!I also love eggplant and had really wanted to try out the mashed eggplant with century egg and green pepper that I had read about but the menu had it listed as something weird like mashed pepper egg or something to that effect. I loved it and have never had anything like it at an asian restaurant. The flavor was really tasty and (beware) there are chunks of green century eggs in there that I really enjoyed but my friend was a lil scared of. Lol.They also seem to be popular for their fish soups and soups in general and if I could get everyone else to share with me I woulda tried it out, but I didn't want to order a $40 huge vat for me to try a cup. But maybe I can find a friend who is more adventurous to go with me!I almost forgot to take some photos so the one I did snap were of the food left after dinner and there was a lot! Such a great bargain for the quality and portion sizes. I can't wait to go back again!!"
"This is a pretty decent teriyaki place. It is conveniently located in the same plaza as Hmart! I came on a Monday morning for lunch and the restaurant was pretty empty. The food was decent. The woman who was our server and cashier was so friendly!"
"Jajang was great here. Ate with my cousin. It was amazingHowever 5 months later menu and servers changed and no more jajang and I looked like a crazy person for trying to order itDolsot bibimbop was great. So were the sides ( ban Chan). Bring back the jaja"
"This place is ridiculously cute as a button. Small, sweetly decorated and full of light. But let's get down to business - FOOD! They bring you out some little snacks & sweet and sour sauce to eat while you wait for the main event. The menu has lots of options from bahn mi, noodles and most in between. So far we have tried: - spring rolls, they come out how so looked out! Crispy and delicious- shrimp tempura, very meaty with light batter and a spicy sauce- fresh spring rolls, also very meaty with amazing peanut sauce- pad thai, this doesn't really taste like any other pad thai I have had but in a good way. The sauce is very light and the noodles are thin and chewy. The meat is always cooked just right BUT my absolute favorite is the Luc Lac beef. It is so tender and flavorful I could eat it every day and would if I could. Service is always polite and fast. My only complaint is we didn't find this place sooner."
"Please expand or something. I keep not noticing you and it hurts my belly Everytime I walk by and don't stop. It's a little place that can always seem to be crowded. The service is very good and they keep the tables moving. The food is more authentic then American made. Means there is some flavor not just some sweet sauce dumped on for making it taste good. Love the skewers. The spinach garlic chicken is a must try. The soup is also something to put on your list of things to out in your mouth. A great drink list and bar menu. They have a good happy hour. A neighborhood joint that sticks out from the crowd. Only issue is that they lack a little space. The seating area fills up fast. They do have a little bar seating are that allows you to sneak in as a single and get your grub on. A useful tool to keep in your pocket. Great date place because the food is so good."
"This was an experience from the moment you step into the intimate space until the dessert is served. I savored every bite. The service was excellent and the staff so friendly they actually took time to get to know you and talk to you about your meal. I was impressed that they were able to offer me a substitute due to allergies. Although the pork belly was melt in your mouth experience leave room for the taro crème brûlée. The food was a full sensory experience that was unbelievably delicious. The drink menu was filled with great options as well. This is going on my list of great date night recommendations and was also a wonderful place for my dining alone evening"
"I was excited to see Bonchon here on the west coast. This pIace is legit for serving Korean Chicken Wings. The provide either a garlic soy or spicy gochugang glaze. We chose the half and half batch of wings. The double fry on the chicken wings made them so crispy! They cooked them just right so the meat was still juicy and piping hot. The glazes were a perfect mix of mild and spicy. They also give you a small container of daikon radish to serve as a pallet cleanser if you moved between the different flavors of wings."
"Yummy lunch with my hubby during happy hour at Mio! Our server was SO great and kind. It was a little cold inside but they had JUST opened for the day. Really fresh and tasty and perfect portions. Great prices too."
"Was in the area for work and Hamono came up high in my search for food sushi. I was not disappointed.I'd been seeking some great crispy rice for a moment and they definitely came thru. I devoured this roll. It was packed with delicious fresh ingredients. Also ordered for lunch was a salmon hand roll. OMG. Any lovers of fresh salmon would smash 2 of these in one 1 minute. I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch and planned on coming back but the stars did not align."
"Get your Korean-Chinese food fix here! But be warned: you might get sticker shock at some of the prices.I have been craving Jjajang myun (black bean paste noodles) and saw that this is the place to get it. We ordered your typical trifecta (also our waitress said that's what everyone orders haha) Regular jjajang myun, seafood jjambong (seafood noodle soup) and pork tangsooyuk (fried pork with sweet and sour dipping sauce) I will say that the food is really good and authentic here (given by the people we saw eating here while we were here) The noodles were chewy and flavorful, seafood stew with just the right amount of spiciness and plenty of seafood, plus the fried pork was freshly fried and crispy - ready to dip into the sticky sauce full of veggies. The service was quick and friendly and it was cool to see actual flames in the kitchen behind when they were cooking up the dishes. The inside decor, tables and chairs, the removal dividers seemed simple if not a bit outdated. I really was impressed by the food and we all really enjoyed our meal. However I do think the price tag (even given the portions) is a little steep for certain dishes - $35 for the seafood noodle soup? Not great. But with that said, I do recommend coming here if you get a craving for Korean-Chinese food. Please give them a chance!"
"One of my favorite teriyaki's I've ever ate at. I was skeptical but once I tried it I realized that it's unlike any other teriyaki places. The katsu has the perfect crisp, the sauce was delicious, and the chicken was not dry. I love the portion and next time I will try their yakisoba."
"A food truck that serves baos! I love the breaking bad thing they have a lot of little accessories and props that go along with the show. I love the car so here it is super tangy. I thought the chicken one was a little bit salty. However, the beef one is a mustard flavor is so good and to put a little bit of the coleslaw on top is amazing. The ambience has other food trucks and picnic tables but we brought it home and made it, the service is great the people there are super friendly"
"I like the food here overall, but the hours are strange. Many time when I've tried to come here they are closed. Their hours are scratched off the window, so there is no way to tell when they are supposed to be open. I have figured out they are closed Mondays. Also seems they close at other random times. Even though the food is decent, there are so many other choices for Asian type food in West Linn. Driving over here to eat and having the business constantly closed gets frustrating. When I am able to get in here to eat, the staff are sometimes friendly and other times somewhat rude."
"It was such a pleasure to finally get to visit this awesome woman owned food cart! Even my partner, who can be a tough judge, said that this was a stand out amongst food we have tried recently. I ordered the red sticky rice and the drunken noodle with tofu, on Jenny's suggestion. (She's the business owner!) Both hit the spot perfectly. They were big portions for the price, enough for me and my partner to share. They asked what spice level I wanted and I said medium, they clarified that their peppers were pretty hot, and since I've been liking spicy stuff lately I went for it - it was exactly what I expected and wanted. The cart is located in a cool pod in Gresham - there is indoor and outdoor seating, parking, and lots of great businesses. Wish I lived closer to come back more often. I took my food to go... my partner was lucky there was any sticky rice left to try by the time I got home :)"
