Bull Run Pizza

Great service, even at the end of the night. I shared a margarita pizza with the homies. It was crispy, cheesy, fresh. The dough itself lacked a bit of salt and on a margarita, they could have gone harder on the basil, but super solidly built pie. Good seating and homey, dim lighting. bustling fun environment outside the storefront if you don't mind that typical white indie/ uppity Portland scene.

Detroit (square) pepperoni was decent, but not up to par of other venues that specialize in it. Opting for the hot honey does elevate the experience. The young guy behind the counter and the manager-type who served the pizza were very friendly. However, the gal behind the bar needs to attend a customer service seminar. Simple one word answers with no added value just doesn't cut it anymore.The blaring death-metal music might appeal to their main customer base, but was a huge turn-off. Parking can be a challenge in this area. One and done for me.

Since American Dream closed-my go to pizza place. I was looking for a good pizza place and am glad to have picked this place. Called in my order-person taking the order was really nice. Pizza was good!! Got a salad and bread sticks-not sure what they refer to these as. But was happy with everything! Will use this place now.

Ordered and sat at the bar and got the grandma style square slices of pepperoni and shishito around 6pm on a Sunday. Slowly, as they ran out of pizza slices, they crossed each flavor out on their menu, noting that they wouldn't be making more till 8pm (for the pepperoni at least). I thought to myself, how unfortunate that if we had arrived 20 minutes later, they would have no options for us (we had a flight to catch so we couldn't wait for a whole new pizza). And the slices we ate were delicious, with a fluffy and unique thick crust, but they certainly did not taste the freshest and were some of the last slices they had available from pizzas probably made at least an hour earlier. Luckily, the drinks we got were good... shuttle bunny, strawberry pineapple margarita slushie, and basil lemonade with a shot of vodka, everything tasty and not too sweet. But again, I'm guessing the pizza is significantly better when freshly made, not simply reheated, and that makes them unreliable for a good product. Plus, the service was just okay. The bartender/server was friendly, but distracted by her friends who were also sitting at the bar. The environment was casual and inviting with indoor and outdoor seating. However, we live out of state, so it's not likely we'd be returning... to Portland maybe, but to this pizza spot probably not, as there was nothing really memorable about it.

Been looking for an awesome pizza place and Bull Run delivered! Flavorful. Great cheese pull. Tasty crust. This pizza snob will be back!

Not sure how you can be out of a smaller size pizza, but still offer your large? ‍That happened.

Update: still delicious! Even to go! I love their pizza. It's seasoned really well. The crust is one of the best around. I feel like they don't skimp on toppings either. The salad is always a nice addition. Thanks!

Stopped in for a quick slice of pepperoni. Was a real solid slice and had this nostalgic feeling of pizza I ate at the roller rink growing up in the best way possible. Def a tastier slice but did stir up these warm memories of being a kid again. Will return to try other pizzas.

Wonderful people! Small bar but a good little specialty cocktail list. Fantastic location (that whole stretch of NE 28th)! Pizza was among our top six or seven places, but not the top of that short list.

I really enjoyed my visit. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the pizza was top tier. I would go back accept normally I never go to Portland.
