Someone wrote it wasowned by a Japanese couple but actually they are Korean. I had a little issue communicating with the man who takes the orders. They had shrimp tempura and vegetable tempura. I asked him if the shrimp tempura came with vegetables and he said look at the picture pointing to the window. The window picture clearly shows shrimp and vegetables so I ordered it. We'll when I got the order it was only shrimp (6 pieces). I ate it though and it was good. The also had two sauces so I thought the smaller one was for the salad, wrong. There was dressing on the salad. I guess it was extra dipping sauce.

Oh my God. I threw away my order it was so bad. Horrible Ambiance, unfriendly service and the food was the worst. This is not mean, it's true. Don't take my word for it. Go try it. He smelled his old home made spicy sauce cause it looked like something was growing in it.

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our sushi dinner together while I was visiting during parents' weekend at UCLA. The staff are very welcoming, the sushi was plentiful, and one of the chefs took notice of us watching how he prepares the fresh orange wedges: with an extra order on the house. You can sit right next to the chefs while you eat inside, and there are tables outside as well. Genuine and lively, Bong Teriyaki is a great find south of campus. We look forward to returning in the future.

Had no idea this place was just right around the corner and with great reviews!!! Such a sweet Japanese duo running the place and making really good Yakisoba. My husband and I ordered 2 lunch specials and they were exactly what we needed. There's only 2 of them at the shop so please be patient! Call in your order if needed. For convenience and cravings, I wouldn't for sure return for more!

Wow, this food was bad, location is weird, portions are small. Egg rolls & gyoza are frozen, not fresh. Spicy chicken is a container of hot sauce on the side. Having a hard time understanding why this was the #1 chicken teriyaki listed in our area.

Owner can't help roof has leaked for over a decade, hence the damp smell of the place. Owner CAN help the bland, homogenized, not fresh cafeteria food masquerading as Japanese. I've eaten Oscar Meyer hot dogs more Japanese than this slop. Yakisoba with chicken has been served here more resembling shoe leather and a dough ball. Not great by a long shot.

Chicken teriyaki bowl was good, healthier. Liked the salad wish there was more. Gyoza was solid too.

So delicious! The best teriyaki chicken plates you'll ever have! Every bit is beyond tasty and will leave you wanting more. Super fast too! It's my go-to neighborhood place.

This isn't my first pick for Asian food, but Bong Teriyaki does an alright job. It's located extremely close to me, which is why I found myself trying it out a little bit ago. The prices are pretty fair, though I wish everything cost a dollar or two less. From my experience, this place is a little slow with takeout orders. I ordered 2 two choice combos plates (chicken teriyaki and chicken katsu & chicken teriyaki and beef teriyaki) when I was the only customer in the place and waited for probably 20-25 minutes. The chicken was pretty mediocre. It was chewy and tasted a little overcooked. I'd give it a 2 out of 5. My boyfriend's chicken katsu was also overcooked and dried out. So why the 3 out of 5 stars? The beef teriyaki I had redeemed this place. It reminded me of authentic Korean BBQ beef. It was tender and nicely soaked up their teriyaki sauce. My recommendation? Skip the chicken, order the beef!

This is our neighborhood teriyaki spot. We get takeout from here every week or so. We love getting the chicken teriyaki, katsu, and my new favorite this winter is the chicken udon. The noodles are cooked well, broth is flavorful, and great sautéed veggies & grilled chicken on top. Yum! Consistently good food and you're supporting a mom-and-pop during a tough time!
