The inside felt safe and relaxing with adequate seating. Waitress was friendly and check up on us. Food was quite tasty, we had some Birrias tacos and Birrias soup. Flavour was nice and balance with the soup. The tacos tasted like it was freshly made and it had nice flavour and texture. Birrias tacos had a good crunch to it. It wasn't too pricy for a dinner date for two.Overall, I definitely recommend this place.

Searched for a top rated place to eat while driving through Gresham and Birrias Tamazula popped up. So I told my hubby let's go checkthis place out. When we walked in we were greeted and seated right away. The staff were friendly and the service was wonderful. My hubby and I ordered the birria braised plate with beans and five tortillas, fish tacos and shrimp/ cheese tacos. Tasty, yummy, satisfying and absolutely delicious! My hubby liked the green salsa so we bought a little bottle of it and also ordered some tortillas to take home. We had some meat and consommé leftover so we planned to make more tacos when we got home. I can see why this place received 5 stars. I definitely recommend Birrias Tamazula!

I had never had birrias before visiting Birrias Tamazula. We ordered 4 different tacos to share. Not being the most adventurous eater, I tried the goat birria first with the thinking if I didn't like it the beef birria, fish and shrimp tacos would be more enjoyable. The first bite had great flavor, to my delight. All of the tacos tasted great with fresh ingredients, but my wife and I agreed we really liked the goat best of all. As a testament, I had goat birrias there 3 times that week. Since then we have shared with our friends, and are there regularly. Lately we have been going Friday nights for the Carne Asada special. Everything is fresh and delicious. Above that though, we are always made to feel welcome. Always greeted with a warm smile, and lately a cold beer!

By far the best Mexican I've had in Oregon! Their tortillas are handmade, seafood is fresh, and the portions are huge!

Well, the lure of fresh-made tortillas finally got me in the door, and I am so glad that it did.tl;dr - richly flavored, well-cooked small menu, friendly service, generous portions. Did I mention the freshly made tortillas? Worth the visit and then some.I asked the-woman-who-lets-me-live-with-her (thanks Mike) if she'd like to take a short walk to go and grab some dinner at Birrias Tamazula. The heat of summer had finally broken and it was a lovely evening for a stroll, especially one that ended in dinner.A part of the lure was that Tamazula make Birria de chivo, aka goat. It's delicious when made with beef to be sure, but there is an earthiness when it is made with goat that is not to be missed. I ordered the Birria Dona Lidia's, which is just birria in consomme with garnish and tortillas on the side.Mi esposa loves shrimp and they have some lovely looking platters of shrimp prepared in various ways and so she decided on the Camarones Zarandeados, which is head-on shrimp (from this hemisphere) perfectly cooked and tossed in a spice mixture with fresh veggies on the side and tortillas. The consomme was wonderfully flavorful. If you needed more heat, the selection on the garnish and salsa plate would have allowed you to adjust it to your taste, and I appreciate the opportunity to make that decision on my own. The meat was spectacularly tender and flavorful. If you mind picking out bones, then order the beef, because the bone-quotient is higher in goat, but it is worth the work. tender meat, rich broth, fluffy fresh tortillas, with a sprinkling of chopped onion and cilantro with a squeeze of lime? Heaven!Shrimp are always a good test of a kitchen. Easy to overcook, easy to get scared and undercook. These were just right, firm without tipping over into rubbery, with a fresh sweetness countered by the rich-red spice mixture they were tossed with. Fresh tortilla, fresh veg, bite of shrimp and lime and you've got my wife right where you want herTHIS DISH IS VERY MESSY - you have to shell everything yourself and they are generous with the "sauce" so be prepared. Maybe they could offer a wet-wipe like they do at bbq places? The owner looked very familiar to me and when we chatted (he is VERY friendly and engaging) we discovered that we had worked together at a car dealership some years ago. It is just that easy to talk to them here and that is also very nice. The-woman-who-lets-me-live-with-her spoke at length (we were the last customers of the night) about a dish she had enjoyed in California that nobody seemed to be able to duplicate. Seems like the kind of place that might let you buy a bucket of beers at the end of the day and invite the staff to join you. Maybe I'll try that next time!I suppose my only wish would be a touch more variety in the menu, but if they are going to do these things this well, I'll just know where to come when this is my hankering. Do not pass it up, not to be missed.

The place is fairly new that being said the place is pretty clean and organized. This Mexican restaurant has lots of seating and they do offer outside seating as well. I ordered the camarones zarandeados and let me tell you ... the serving sizes are HUGE ! Not many places that do sea food offer as much bang for your buck, it feels like to me in my experience. The cajun style shrimp I got had lots flavor and the homemade sauce was spectacular! Drinks are awesome too! I got a nice cold beer. My wife got a mango margarita that she loved ! Looking forward to visiting again !

My partner and I have dined in at BT three times now, and we'll keep coming back. Tonight, we walked down and had the Birria Ramen (s/o) and Birria platter (my favorite!) and a couple of house margaritas. Service is always friendly and prompt. We never wait long, and are never rushed. Inside and outside are always clean and tidy with plenty of seating. The ambiance is friendly, casual, unpretentious and approachable. We sat outside tonight, taking in the evening breeze as we sipped our drinks. The owner chatted with us about the Gresham Farmers Market and before we knew it, our dinners were out in front of us - Hooray!BT's consume is flavorful and not too salty. Birria Tamazula offers birria thats juicy, flavorful, without being too heavy or greasy. The salsa and hot sauce selections added a nice touch to the Birria Ramen. We toted some of the broth home for a late night noodle snack after a movie date. Yes, they close somewhat early, but they are worth making the time to try. If you haven't yet experienced Birria, this is the place to try. We'll keep coming back!
