I love coming here to work but very respectfully... the coffee is okay. The staff is nice and the ambience is just right :)

Old-fashioned vibe, interesting eclectic crowd. Good bike parking, some outdoor seating. I ordered the quiche, it was OK but expected it to be sensational in a place that prides itself on its pies. Drinks are good, although the steep upcharge for milk alternatives is unfair. The staffer who took my order was not friendly, seemed clueless, but another one apologized with a cookie after the first screwed up my order, so that's cool. There are some nice big tables to meet with a group.

Our friends in town wanted to meet up at Bipartisan Cafe, known for their handmade pies. It's next door to Vintage Cocktail Lounge and Redwood. We dropped in on a busy Sunday morning (9:15am). Order at the front, then wait for your name to be called. No service (you busk your own tables) yet the minimum tip option was 15%.Coffees are $3.25 to $6.00 USD in three sizes (8 oz, 12 oz and 16 oz). For food, they offer pies, pastries, sandwiches, breakfast sammies, bagels and quiches. - Latte ($5.25 USD 12 oz) - subbed for oat ($1.25 USD extra). Solid but pricey cup of coffee. - Ham breakfast sammie ($8.50 USD) - black forest ham, egg, dijon and aged white cheddar. Sandwich was tiny and bland. Disappointing.- Veggie quiche ($6.50 USD) - spinach, zucchini and button mushrooms. Decent.Would stick with the pies at BC.

This is a down to earth cafe with a full cafe menu and good pies. There are a good number of seats available. Staff is kind. Street parking. I believe the owner wants to keep this place affordable and neighborhood friendly. I like that. I will be back.

the food was amazing. the pie was out of this world, each bite a small piece of heaven. as the sensational crust hit my lips, i knew i was in for a treat. I got carrot cake, vegan marionberry, and chocolate hehe. couldn't help myself...my wife was with me and we left happy and smiling like never before. just like when we first met. The drink was amazing too. I had a simply yet pleasing latte, the woman a chai. service was amazing. shoutout the employee pictured.inside ambiance was immaculate.

I appreciate that this place has vegan options. Their vegan pies are very good. However, they charge an additional $1.25 to use oat milk in a cappuccino. This is much more than any other coffee shop I have been to in town. I have also been served real egg in my "vegan" breakfast sandwich, which is microwaved and not that great under the best of circumstances. I understand that mistakes can happen but this does not make me excited to come here often.Vegans, this place is decent in a pinch but double check your orders.

$1.25 for "alternative milk" in my coffee is absurd. Why do I have to pay for half the container when you're only using a splash in my drink? What is the justification for discriminating against someone who is not able to drink cow milk or who would prefer to make the healthier, more compassionate (towards cows) and more sustainable choice? Get with the times! It's too bad because this is my neighborhood coffee shop but I'll avoid it until this improves

I've been to this great cafe in Montavilla many times. I often house/pet sit nearby and always make a point to visit when I'm around. I think they streamlined their menu a bit during the pandemic. I love being able to pick up at the window outside if I'm not dining in. There's street parking nearby and a covered seating area on the road/sidewalk. The staff have always been very friendly and prepared everything well.I've had solid bagel sandwiches and regular sandwiches from Bipartisan but usually just get a latte to go. I don't know if they're still on the menu, but the coffee and chai milkshakes are/were yummy. I'm really surprised that I don't recall having ever gotten quiche, pie, or any other kind of pastry or sweet item. They always look good so hopefully it is just a matter of time.

The banana cream pie is the best in Portland. You can buy it by the slice or a whole pie to go and they charge a deposit for the pie pan. They return the deposit upon return of the pan.

This place is a staple in the neighborhood. The food quality and service consistently exceeds my expectations. You can always count on the fabulous pies, quiches and soups and so much more. Today the manager went above and beyond and made my mom's only request of a cherry birthday pie happen. Thank you for your extra efforts today.
