Love this place! We come here every time we are on Mt. Hood for vacation. The ambiance is perfect: rustic with a ton of retro charm. So cozy. Waitstaff are always so friendly and will strike up a conversation. But I wouldn't be leaving a review if it wasn't for the delicious food. Especially the fish and chips! It's our fave thing lace to get fish and chips in this area. They use halibut. It's perfectly battered, not too much and not too little breading. Very crispy, browned just right, and the fish is always so buttery and moist. Tartar sauce and cole slaw are very good. Try the stomping mountain toast for breakfast! It's decadent but crispy and tasty. I can't wait to go back and try the fried chicken special. Definitely check this place out!

Lots of vegetarian options and my meat-eating parents (and dog) enjoyed the food as well. The staff was kind enough to let us sit outside for brunch since we had the dog even tho nobody else was out there. I'd go back.

Oh my soooo yummy. driving through Oregon on our way to Seattle, stopped here for lunch and so happy that we did,. Very cute log cabin, and I heard it was haunted, I got bacon and eggs and hashbrowns, and an English muffin and the hobby got the chicken cream soup with rice and it was very good food and excellent service. The food was absolutely delicious. The hashbrowns were super hot. I told the waitress it was really good and she said the chef has been there for over 20 years, you can tell she takes pride in her food atmosphere was fantastic and I wish I could've stayed there for the night and some room, just to see that goes lol. If you have a chance to stop by here on your stop for lunch or breakfast.

Barlow Trail Roadhouse is my absolute favorite restaurant. Their fish and chips are the best I've ever had, made with real halibut that is perfectly battered, juicy, and delicious. The Stomping Mountain toast, my favorite dessert, is incredibly good. The interior is lovely and cozy, adding to the charm. The staff are always helpful and friendly, making each visit a delight. Every time I travel to Oregon, I can't wait to visit this place again. I highly recommend it!

Absolutely the best halibut and chips I have ever had! The halibut was perfectly battered and the portions were good. The housemaid tartar sauce was OUTSTANDING! I love fish and chips, and especially halibut, but this was by far the BEST I've ever had! The waitress was friendly and attentive and the owner came out to tell me about the tartar sauce that I loved.I highly recommend Barlow Trail Roadhouse for excellent halibut and chips and the tastiest tartar sauce ever!

Usually, we get pretty good service and food. We enjoy the food and especially the ambiance. But yesterday's breakfast was probably the worst I've ever had Cold, flavorless, and when I asked for my steak to be recooked for the 3rd time, they simply put it in the microwave. It came back to me rubbery and gray. No one at our table of 4 enjoyed their meal. For $70 of poor service and equally poor food, I think a 3 out of 5 stars is more than generous.

Had some time to kill on a Friday afternoon so we stopped in for a small bite to eat. It's a cute place - very vintage and felt authentic. I split a burger with my daughter, which was fine. It also came with fries. I'd be interested in coming back here sometime at an actual mealtime to try their halibut and chips, which seems to be quite popular.

Stopped by and had their Halibut fish and chips. It was divine, and the two pieces were larger than my prior visits.I have tried to make my own fried Halibut but never got this great taste. Sometimes it isn't always this good here, as my other review noted.
