First of all, the man who runs this truck is salt of the earth human being. Even if the food was a 3 I'd drop a 5 here to support such a good human. That said, the food is a 5 too. Reasonably priced large lighter version of calzones is basically what you have here. He makes everything fresh and on the spot. Please check this cart out. It's located toward the back of the pod station so you may have to look around a but if you're craving a pizza you can hold in your hand, you gotta stop by.

I have never been to Sicily, but I can tell you this food is amazing and authentic. The homemade cannoli were delicious the cream cheese light and fluffy with the perfect amount of powdered sugar on top. They were the perfect dessert on our way out. We will be back ASAP for the rest of the menu.

Well, everyone is right, he has good food. Glad he is now in my favorite cart pod the Piedmont Station food carts on Killingsworth. The panzerottis are like light fluffy calzones, like a thinner more elegant cousin of the calzone. They're around $13 each. I got the special of the day w/ pastrami & pepperoncini, such warm cheesy goodness. While 1 filled me up I could've eaten 2 easily.

The cutest couple with the yummiest panzerotti! Heard about this place on an episode of Munchies and knew I had to try it. Came here around 7:30 before they closed and am so happy we got here in time. From the episode and the photos, you'd think that the panzerotti is super big and that you won't be able to eat the whole thing. I can confirm that it is so delicious, you'll want two to yourself. I got the mortadella special which has mozerrella, smoked provolone, tomatoes, and mortadella. The dough is soo light and airy, didn't taste greasy at all. I was deeply sad that we didn't get another one but I'll be back. They also have homemade tiramisu! Not sure what other food carts they have in the lot but you need to come here!

Wonderful little food truck at Piedmont and super authentic. I've grown up eating panzerotti a lot as a kid visiting Italy and it brought me right back to my childhood. They have a lot of different options on the menu, so a little bit for everyone's taste. I can only recommend checking them out, they are a bit hidden towards the back, so please go and try, you won't be disappointed. They also do killer canolli, what a great delight for dessert, yum! I'm very excited to try many more flavors when we are back in Portland.

Wow. I've been in Portland for about five months now and have done a lot of exploring. This is probably the best place I've been too. Or at least it's on the short list of the top two or three.I found out about Bari Food Cart from Munchies (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0yRXwopTRM). Ever since watching that video I've been super excited to try the food. How could you not? Authenticity. Charisma. Fresh. Local. Hustle. Craftsmanship. Mastery. Gives a Shit. Those are all concepts that came to my mind when I watched the video, and after trying it today, it did not disappoint.Starting off, I chatted with the owner a bit. His name is Walter. Man, he was just so friendly and cool. Have you ever heard about how we eat with our eyes, not just our mouths? Or really all of our senses. The idea is that taste buds are only part of what influence our perception of taste. I've never heard anyone say something about how the social experience influences our perception of taste, but I might have to submit a grant proposal for the experiment after today, because it is now a strong hypothesis of mine.Ok, on to the actual food now. I got the carne panzerotti. Panzerotti's are the only thing they serve. They're kinda like fried calzones. But that description feels like it does it a disservice. It sounds kinda greasy and gross. They're not. They come out hot. The dough is light and fresh, with a bit of crisp on the outside, and a bit of chewiness. It's so perfect. Then on the inside there was ground beef and mozzarella. The ground beef is cooked with a mirepoix of onions, carrots and celery, with some reduced red wine thrown in there as well. I make lots of things with ground beef at home. I even buy the fancy ground beef online from Crowd Cow. This was different. It just felt like it was done by a professional in a way that I couldn't replicate if I tried.I also felt like the ratio of ingredients was perfect. There is a lot of air inside the panzerotti. Ie. if you look at it from the outside, it's not stuffed completely, there's empty space. Like a bag of Lays. With Lays it's frustrating, but here the empty space was cool. It felt right. There was also the right amount of mozzarella. And it was all hot and fresh. Back to the idea of eating with your senses, there's something really awesome about biting into it and having that steam hit your face. After that, it was so good I had to get a second. Don't judge. The second one I just got mozzarella and pesto. It was also awesome. The pesto just felt professional. It was really nicely done. Finally, I ended with a cannoli. As good as everything else was, I'm wondering whether the cannoli was the best part of the experience. The filling was so good. I wish I could explain it. It was perfectly chilled. The chocolate at the bottom had a deep, rich flavor. The cookie part had a nice crunch. I don't like it when it's more flakey.I'm losing steam over here. I said some words, but at the end of the day I'm just sorta flailing around. I don't actually know how to describe how good it was. Just go there. You won't regret it.

I probably would not have ventured to this food cart pod until I saw a video showcasing this Portland Food Cart online. I love me some Italian food so I had to make it part of a trip to try the panzerottis made at this food cart. When watching the video I loved how enthusiastic and happy the food cart owner was to make panzerottis and after coming to the cart he is exactly the same! Super kind and open to sharing his favorites. After he takes your order if you're dining in the area he will bring it over to you and if it's busy you can hear the honk or his horn to get your attention. Now for the panzerotti, we ended up getting the country (said to be one of the most popular) and the cheese. During this time they are not doing half orders like I saw on the video so there's only one size that will run you around $8 each. The panzerotti looks like a calzone but it's light as donut so it's actually not as dense per bite which I thought it would be. Super airy so you may want to get 1-3 if you're two or more in a group. Ingredients were good but to get to 5 stars I would have liked a little more filling as I was a bit hungry still after getting two to share.

The service was so kind and genuine. He has a big smile and is thrilled to show people his Italian cuisine. The flakey dough crust is made fresh and is so light and fluffy, with a very delicious flavor. It's a very big portion! (But not too big for one person). 10/10 recommend, so many options too! I will be back
