I stumbled upon Bar Diane on NW 21st Ave by chance, noticing a sign leading me down an alley to its entrance. This charming wine bar has a cozy hidden patio, indoor seating, bar stools, and a quaint private corner booth where we ended up sitting. The staff were incredibly friendly, even though we arrived close to their last call. They made us feel very comfortable. With limited time, we each ordered a drink--wine and cocktails--all of which were great. The wine selection is impressive, with even the by-the-glass options standing out. The staff's knowledge of their wines was evident as they provided me with excellent recommendations and explanations. Following my cousin's advice of being hip MZ style (????), we tried the canned sardines. They were served with bread, sauce, Dijon mustard, and pickles, and the combination was delightful and went well with my orange wine. Bar Diane feels like a hidden gem that I discovered by luck, and I will definitely be returning for another visit.

Underwhelming...The prices were insanely high for how little food we got...My friend literally finished his risotto in 2 minutes because there were at most four tablespoons of it.The taste of the food wasn't bad but the portion was ridiculously small for price tags of $30+. I got the Lamb Tagliatelle which was also very small and bland. The lamb was tender though. I see that they try to be novel and creative with their dishes which is great but you can't be cutting the portion this badly and still have a massive price tag.Service was also mid. We waited awhile for our food and almost got double charged.Would not be back again.

this is definitely a hidden gem right by negociant as well. Super cozy aesthetic vibes indoor and outdoors, heated patio available. While it is on the more upscale end, super intimate. We met up for drinks and bites and started with espresso martinis 10/10 substituted with tequila. We got the chicken liver mousse with the sardines. The sardines were definitely my favorite with the milk rolls. Service was great over all. Parking is a bit hard to find. In total it came out to $30 each for all the above.

After an awesome visit last summer I knew I had to come back for this sunny March weekend. We ordered the raspberry hibiscus shrub, old fashioned (off menu), and a glass of their Champagne. They were all so good!To eat we had the milk bread rolls + honey (I could've eaten 4 of these orders), octopus, hangar steak, dozen oysters (incredible), and chicken liver mousse. All the staff were so friendly and the service was great! The outdoor patio with lights was absolutely perfect for a sunny weekend.

This is the spot. Full, lively, definitely seemed like the place to be if you're into wine. We paid a lot for a pretty small lobster roll but it was tasty. We really need to try the other food. Our server was really helpful with trying to figure out what to pair with our taste and food.

Bar Diane is the perfect spot to grab drinks with a friend and have some light bites. The back patio is adorable and comfortable. My only complaint is that we went on a Wednesday and asked to sit on the patio and only were told after we had been sitting there for a bit that we were required to partake in a flight tasting because they opened the patio for it specifically. So instead of ordering the orange wine we wanted, we got a flight of chilled reds. They were tasty but not exactly what I wanted. For food we shared a half dozen oysters, a tin of smoked mackerel (which comes with accoutrements and the most delicious milk buns) and a slice of Spanish tortilla. The oysters were outstanding, especially with their house made hot sauce. The tortilla was only okay (but admittedly I just got back from a trip to Spain so my standards are temporarily skewed). Definitely a bit pricey but I could see myself coming back!

Waited an hour for steak. couple next to me who got there after me received their food first. I asked the waiter about my food and he could not care less. Offered to cancel the order before offering an explanation or apology. I finally just canceled and left. Ridiculous service and experience.
