This little spot has some affordable banh mi! There is plenty of parking out front. They sell some items prepacked to go and a few I had not seen, like banh khot. I ordered the tofu banh mi and a Thai iced tea! The bread was warm, crispy, soft, and delicious - so airy and thin - it almost collapses when compressed. The veggies and tofu are in good ratio to each other - but not to the bread. However, for the price - the amount of filling feels okay. I liked the flavors overall. The Thai tea was great. I will say I seemed to taste sugar granules at the bottom when slurping up the last sip - which I never tasted before in Thai tea - usually sweetened condensed milk and tea I thought, not sure. I'll be back to try more. You can even play lotto there!

I thought i had reviewed this in the past but I guess I have not. One of my favorite places for a Bahn Mi or the bahn knot as far as i know the only place that serves this Vietnamese little shrimp pancake. Small family run place with maybe about 4 or 5 tables and some video machines in back. Well worth the trip for the bahn not and of course the rest of the menu is worth checking out. We usually stick to that and the bahn mi which is still reasonable priced.

Pretty good! Got the vegetarian bahn mi, the bread was amazing!! Didn't love the tofu flavor as much and unfortunately was out of the other appetizers and such. But was fun to try!!

When I saw that this place serves banh khot, I was sold! It's so hard to find that around here so I'm glad I found it not too far from me. It's a very homey vibe, nothing fancy at all. In fact, there's some type of gambling entertainment in the next room over but it didn't take away from my dining experience one bit. The owner took care of us right away and the food came out in a timely manner. The banh khot was everything I'd hope for. I should have ordered some to go. For it being a hole in the wall, it was pretty busy. I'd def come back for more.

A hidden gem and hole in the wall place for some home cooked Vietnamese food. One of the few places where you're served hot tea for free! They even have bank khot which is hard to find around here. The owner immediately took care of us. This place is a no frills restaurant and there seems to be a slots room of some sort in the back where ppl were coming in and out of. I ordered the bun cha Gio thit nuong and it hit the spot! The portions were a bit small but everything was very good.

I love bánh mì and this hole-in-the-wall restaurant was highly recommended, so I was very excited to check it out. It's in a small little plaza with plenty of parking, but windows are barricaded for obvious reasons. It's a very small restaurant and you're immediately greeted with very homey, Vietnamese food smells. I'll have to try their other dishes next time, as they have lots of Vietnamese street foods. We came in just for bánh mì, so we ordered four: thit nuong, tofu, dac biet, and nem nuong. I was incredibly disappointed by the lack of ingredients in each one. While the pate tasted amazing and the protein was marinated nicely, there was just enough to line the inside of the banh mi. Then they covered it thickly with vegetables. I wish there was more. I'd highly recommend the tofu of all of these but probably won't go back for Vietnamese subs.

Some things just show that extra care. As I was waiting to pay for my sandwich I saw the two ladies behind the counter, heating the sandwiches. Making sure they were uniformly warm and filled. It looked cramped but efficient. I had recently had a dental implant replaced so I was looking forward to a banh mi since that is the last thing you want on an empty gap on your gum. Again I panicked on what to get. I got the shredded pork and pork skin. I was thinking chicharrone but that is not what it is. I really disliked the skin but that was my fault. I loved the warm crispy bread and finely sliced veggies. It has a decent price too. I'm a fan. I'll be back.

This place is a hole in the wall, which means you have to expect the food to be good. If you want authentic viet food, this is your place. Ordered the bot chien, banh khot, and crab udon. I rarely eat any of these dishes, so I don't have much to compare to but they were all good. Food came out quick and service was fine.

This place is so underated and literally hole in the wall!!! Across the street from another Vietnamese grocery store called Hong Phat.Their banh mi are top notch and super flavorful and the bread crunchiness vs softness is just perfect. their price is comparable and even a bit cheaper than most places in SE Portland. Being a sandwich lover and personally hate biting into the part where there's nothing,. no sauce, no ingredients etc, - NO this place made my mouth ascend to food heaven with each bite. kid you not, very flavorful and savory, every bite worth wowing or moaning.Their grilled pork banh mi was very different, wasn't ordinary slice of marinated pork meat charred on a grill. It was chopped, seasoned and marinated - this was super delicious and juicy. Explosion to food paradise with every bite! The other choice was nem nuong which carries a more sweet and savory taste - both again were just super delicious! Two very authentic ladies running the place and kitchen or probably more that doesn't work store front but is very authentic. Bun bo hue was even more surprising! broth was not like any other kind tried at most Vietnamese restaurants in SE Portland. Definitely have referred friends and families and already made 2-3 trips returning for more sandwiches. Will return 10/10 again and try out the bun rieu and this is the #1 place for banh mi in SE Portland. Authentic, affordable price, large portion and every bite is sensational!
