Seriously some of the best food I've tasted and not just here in Portland! Absolutely, delicious! I had the chicken & potatoes over rice and the Dahl, both fantastic! My daughter had the vegan noodles and said they were delicious! family business and we were welcomed as one of theirs! Highly recommend!!

Very solid place. The potato chicken curry rice bowl was good. I really appreciated the quality of the chicken.I'm a little picky about chicken. I think it's hard to get it right. I find that for chicken breast it's usually too dry, and for other cuts of chicken there are often pieces of cartilage or fat that gross me out. But not with this chicken. It had a nice texture, some juiciness, and also no weird pieces. Nice.I think the dish was lacking in a few areas though. It could have used some sauteed onions. Some vegetables, maybe green peas. Something to kinda cut through the meatiness and spice. Maybe some acid. Some color. Some texture/crunch.Given these shortcomings I see it as more of a home-y, comforting meal than something I'd go out of my way for.I also appreciated the very generous portions. I was genuinely full after the meal, which is very rare for me to say. I think most people would end up taking home leftovers. Those chocolate balls were also pretty good. They're made fresh and hot, which is probably the most important thing to me. To nitpick, I think the chocolate could have used a bit more intensity. I thought it was a little flat.

First time in their new space, I'm gonna like this pod once it's completed. Mother and son owner-operators are so nice. Like my last visit years ago, they are still very generous with their samples. One reason is that most have probably never tried Guyanese food.I'm not a fan of Indian dal, but the Jai's Dahl (yellow split-pea curried soup) is delicious!I went off script and ordered the Chow Mein. Liked it, but didn't love it. The portion was ample so leftovers created that "two meals for the price of one" satisfaction. They are a shining example of what the Portland cart scene is all about.

I found this place on a road trip through Portland I must say that out of all the food I ate during my trip between Portland and Seattle, this is my favorite place! I have wanted to try Guyanese food for so long so i'm glad that this was my first experience. Its a food truck located in a outside park area that has communal seating for all the other food trucks around it. The owner of the shop is really nice and answered all our questions. We went with 2 smaller bakes - the salfish and the chickpeas. The bake is a type of softish bread stuffed with a dish inside. The salfish was so good and was probably my favorite. It reminded me a lot of salted fish in chinese dishes. We also got the potato, chicken, and dahl over basmati rice. The portion was huge and really affordable. The chicken was tender and the spices were out of this world. I rarely give places a 5 star rating, but this place hit it out of the park with the quantity, quality, and price which are all the key factors i look for. Next time I come to Portland, I will for sure be coming here to visit!

I had never tried Guyanese food before, but this place blew me away! As a vegan, I was pleased with the options available, even though there were only two. The owner of the food truck was incredibly welcoming--she asked if it was our first visit and even gave us food samples. The Dhal and chana curry samples were absolutely delicious! We ended up ordering the Bake in the bread with chana curry, and let me tell you, the chickpea curry was mouthwatering--much tastier than any of the chole I've had from Indian food trucks in Portland. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back again!

This place is an absolute fave! As a vegan, there are only a couple of items on their menu that I can eat, but they are SO GOOD, I don't even mind. I could never get tired of their chana aloo bake. The flavors are just incredible. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Came here for a bite while at Fracture Brewing. We weren't sure which food cart we were gonna go with, and were just looking at the menu, then the samples started coming! The man working was super nice and started telling us about all the different foods they had as well as the influences behind each - it was really cool to see the passion he had for his food. Everything we sampled was fantastic, definitely could've and would've eaten it all if we had the time and belly space. We ended up getting the Guyanese potato and chicken curry, and Dahl - by happy accident. We had ordered the potato and chicken curry, they did half that and half Dahl, realized they made the mistake, and then brought us out another half portion of the chicken and potato curry! Happy about that mistake though, because we got to enjoy more of their amazing food. The serving was nice and big, as were the pieces of chicken and potato. Absolutely no skimping here. Both dishes were so full of flavor, and the sauce they serve on the side was the perfect addition for a little kick of heat. There was plenty of seating for the number of food carts they had here, and much of it was covered. Would absolutely come back here.

It has great potential. Parking limited, all street parking and lots of construction as of June 2023.Ask to try their menu! Owner is extremely kind and let you try it before you buy it. Amazing customer service. It's a mixture of south Asian food mixed with Guyanese food, one of a kind and where else would you say you have tried Guyanese food? Food came out pretty fast and there's lot of outdoor seating, it's an outdoor food pod so expect it to be loud.

What a treat to finally try Guyanese food. My partner was super happy that they had vegetarian options and they pack a lot of flavor. We tried salfish (salted cod) with omelet rice, and also the dahl and potato chana mix. Just wow. Everything was delicious and came in large portions. The sailfish with omelette rice was lighter than expected and was well balanced with cod pieces super flaky. The dahl and potato chana were also amazing and taste different than the Indian versions. It had full bodied flavor and you can tell they cook with love.Vibe of this food cart pod was also great. People were playing ping pong, kids were running around an adults were really happy drinking beer and enjoying food. This was a super amazing vibing place and it helps that you can find Guyanese food here!
