Bae's Fried Chicken

Really good Nashville hot chicken in Portland. The spices were reminiscent of the flavors I'd had in the East--quite numbingly spicy. The buttered slice of toast and side of pickles are perfectly complementary! I wish there were more pickles though. Rather slow, but very respectful service!The location in Moda Center is much different in menu from this place -- both are good but check this one out!

What happened to this place? They had some of the best fried chicken in Portland, and now all they do is chicken tenders???? Used to be the only place to get decent fried chicken with actual seasoning, but I guess Screen Door cornered the market with their flavorless "southern" fried chicken for them to be able to compete. Or maybe it was the gross over expenditure on the "ambiance". Nashville Hot is just a portland way of saying "we put seasoning on it" and to warn Portlanders that it will be more a bit more spicy than the ranch they are dunking it in. Go to Ezells, way more food for your money with MUCH better sides. Pay for your food, not the canvas aprons and fancy feeling atmosphere.

I was looking forward to a good meal during our visit in portland.... but bae's fried chicken fell short. my mother is a friend chicken connoisseur and we both ordered the wings. hubby got a chicken sandwich. the flavor of the chicken was good, but bite too deep into the brunette and get met with undercooked ick! We returned the batch and ordered a new one, only to experience the same thing. The flats were cooked through, but the large drummers were not. We were told it was due to the chickens being young. (I have never heard of this.... and could not find anything g during my thorough google search about cooking young chickens - it seems this was a narrative they were trying to push, but i could not find a reputable source to back it up....) Moreover, I didn't find the staff particularly helpful or friendly. Needless to say, We won't be returning because under cooked chicken in' t really my thing. Sandwiches might be ok..... use caution when ordering the wings.

It was cool but nothing to write home about it's another chicken joint. The Texas toast was the high light for me! Mashed potatoes and gravy was really good. Loved the gravy! The ranch dipping sauce was tangy it didn't pair well with the wings. I can comeback but it's not a must for me to come back

Was heading here on Sunday night when noticed unprofessional sign saying closed early due to staffing. Get your stuff together because you lost lots of customers.

The absolutely worst customer service I have ever had. Felt like it was totally wrong to ask questions about the chicken , flavors menu ect, I ended up walking out as she is yelling at me out the door to have a nice day passive aggressively. She was the only woman that was working with glasses and hair up in a ponytail with whatever hair she had to put up. I can't believe that this place can still continue to operate with someone as rude as her. Totally disgusted ! I wish I could give 0 stars since they don't deserve anything at all! Go to this place with caution !

First off, the busy-ness of the place is misleading (they weren't busy, my group of about 9 people (6 adults, 3 children) pretty much was the crowd when we came here for the late afternoon. But the food and service was amazing. Our counter attendant was very attentive to our mission, which was to eat through Portland, so he gave us various options to try their chicken. Even went above and beyond to ensure we tried everything. The wings were nice and crispy and juicy. Chicken tenders were flavorful. Waffle fries were seasoned! All the sides they gave us the option to try were great too!The drinks were strong according to my friend, they had a pretty heavy pour and that's not a bad thing. The kids enjoyed their frozen strawberry try lemonades.Flavors to try for their sauces:Butter honeyLemon pepperTheir Nashville hot (not too spicy, a good kick though)Try the fries and the mac and cheese, as your sidesGlad to see the pickles as a side too, nice way to cut down the heaviness of the fried chicken.Can't wait to come back to BAES!

The fried chicken here is insane! Perfectly crispy and seasoned just right. If you love comfort food, this place is a must-try.Literally the best chicken sandwich in Portland.

So the first thing I'll point out is how good the services are very kind and respectful and always have a smile on the face and there are some hard workers in the back making that food. The food is really good and made fresh and that chicken is crispy and juicy, and there is no Dry piece of meat that served you.. really enjoyed the Nashville chicken and that Texas style toast. That lemonade slushy is a great choice on a hot summer's day too.

Do yourselves a favor and even if it's further drive go to the NE Alberta location !! This location is full of the rudest and upmost entitled workers. The lady at the front seemed annoyed that I wanted my waffle and hot wings separate from one another, the only reason I'm asking for it separate is so my son who's 1.5 years old can't handle the spicy so I want him to be able to have some. Her attitude the entire transaction was dismissive and as if she was annoyed she had to answer questions about her job. I've only been to this location twice because it's closer for me but best believe that I'll never be back to this location. The manager doesn't add the chicken and waffles on the online menu to order to go and when I called in to ask if i could place an order to go I was told yes but then when i mentioned I wanted to do the chicken and waffles they told me I could not order it and had to come in to order.The location an isn't anything special but the rude customer service makes the entire ambiance and aura negative. The NE Alberta location has an extremely nice and accommodating customer service. All the workers are acknowledging you, don't mind making the meal to my preference for myself and my child. Overall a better experience. Food was still good tho no cap, they just need to work on their customer service fr.
