Amaro's Table - Downtown Vancouver

It was my first time here, this restaurant is gorgeous, very aesthetic and charming. I came here for a late lunch and ordered their corn fritter, and the chef's daily risotto that changes. The staff member, Tana, that was attending my visit was very attentive and gave excellent service. She gave suggestions and recommendations, very honest. She told me that today's risotto was delicious and I have to agree with her.Now back to the food, the corn fritters came with 5. It reminded me of hush puppies, the honey butter was nice. It is a bit heavy and a lot for one person. Definitely a great shareable item. The chef's daily risotto took a bit to make which makes sense. However, it was so delicious. The risotto was cooked with mushrooms, then there's some butternut squash, Parmesan and a pistachio pesto on top of the risotto then it's topped with grilled pork belly and microgreens. This was a heavy and hearty risotto. Gorgeous plating. The pork belly was melt in your mouth tender, that fat had been rendered and could easily slice through it. Mixing every component of the risotto into one bite was perfect. Overall, I'll definitely be coming back to try their other dishes. They do have daily happy hour, from 2-5pm and 9-10pm. There's drinks and various appetizers/dishes that aren't full price during this time (corn fritters) included. I've heard about their ricotta doughnuts so will come back to try this next time. I was really full from this meal and had leftovers to take home. The staff were very nice, and welcoming. Also for parking, there's street parking which isn't too bad for downtown Vancouver. They also have another location up in Hazel Dell.

Had a larger group for Amaro's and I tired to make reservations- but due to the Happy Hour we were unable to- but, we were accommodated at the bar to have drinks while the larger group at the table cleared out. Zachary/Zack at the Bar/our Server was Outstanding!! He quickly turned our frowns upside down with delicious customized concoctions!! Once seated the evening took even more positive turn...The meals were all on point- they accommodated special food issues and all were pleased!! Fresh ingredients and beautifully prepared!

Staff is great. Food is very solid. Their fried chick is very good. Can't go wrong with whatever you order. This place fills up fast so it is best to get reservations.

Food, service and happy hour are amazing! Highly recommend Paul pork tacos and the Caesar salad and, of course, the donuts so don't forget the donuts! Great happy hour Red, handcrafted cocktail specials, and outstanding selection of tequila and other spirits.

This place is such a hit or miss!!!!Man! Came in last Saturday with my friend without reservations.Host said it was about a 15 min wait and/or we could sit at the bar (order drinks or not).We sat at the bar, I ordered a glass of Malbec from the bartender with the most pissed off face! Then decided to ask for my ID (fine), and dropped off the most miserable portion of wine I've ever seen for $12 with a with most unpleasant facial expressions.Cool thanks.The host called us for our table, I told him whatever is easier for you. He closed my tab I paid/tipped and we moved.****Apparently there was a huge table, and they forgot to mention this. If we would have know this we would have kindly DECLiNEd and gone somewhere else.I ordered another glass which took forever.My friend ordered Diet Coke When they brought it I told her it was flat, and it was.Let the server know, took forever to come back to tell her the machine wasn't working. (So everyone was drinking flat soda and getting charged)My friend ordered a steak sandwich and I ordered one to go for my hubby. I ordered the servers recommendation. Prawns in guallillo/pepita sauce. $18 and a bowl of soup. $710 hours later, and asking why everything was taking so long. She came back to tell us are you in a rush? Yea, we've also been waiting 50 minutes.Another 15 minutes passed food came out.My friends steak sandwich was delicious perfect.My weird, bitter, COLD prawns and COLD soup were not. I let her know and I also said but I was starving so I ate it! She said "I do the same thing.... "Let her manager know and he came after we paid to let us know we could have free donut balls.Thanks but no.

What a lovely spot! This is connected to a hotel in the downtown Vancouver area. Everything on their menu looked delicious! We got the cucumber burrata salad special with some bread - highly recommend! It was refreshing and just delicious with or without bread. The ricotta and fig was delicious too! The fig jam tasted so good and was mixed well. The salmon special does have mushrooms which wasn't mentioned by our server - just as a heads up. Someone in our group is allergic to them which is why I mention it. The citrus glazed salmon was cooked perfectly with veggies and mashed potato's.

Came here for dinner and really enjoyed it. Made reservations in advance and were immediately seated. I thought the ambiance was fun - busy on a Saturday night - but perhaps a bit loud & cramped. The decor was nice and parking downtown wasn't a problem. Our servers were really friendly. Ordered the hushpuppies that came with a honey butter dipping sauce - so good! And got a couple main dishes that were outstanding - the fried chicken sandwich (I loved it, wife thought it was good) and the salmon with mashed potatoes and green beans (wife loved it and I thought it was really good). For dessert Amaro's hooked us up with some powdered donuts with caramel dipping sauce as first-time visitors, which were delicious. All in all, the food was great, the price was reasonable, and I'd definitely come back again. Next time, I'd like to try their Hazel Dell location.

We initially attempted to eat at the hazel dell location tonight, but our experience was very different than that of downtown(see their reviews for our experience). This location had the same menu and the service was a million times better! We did let them know about our previous experience. We ordered the corn fritters and the server suggested we eat them with coleslaw dressing, which was a great suggestion. 10/10! Second we ordered the chicken Marsala with mashed potatoes and string beans. All was delicious and the servings were ample! The second entree was the mango chutney pork chop with mashed potatoes and string beans. Also very good and plenty of food. For desert we shared a cream brûlée! So happy we hadn't actually finished our entrees because the desert was phenomenal! We will definitely go here again!

Couldn't decide where to go have lunch so we ended up at Amaro's Table. I think the last time we were here was over a couple years ago. The staff was so friendly and we got seated right away at a small table in the back. The restaurant was clean and had cute little flowers on each table. I love the gold mirrors they had on the wall near our table. They went well with the blue wall paper.The food has always been great every time we've been here in the past. I had the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. The chicken was so good, very juicy and moist. The mac and cheese was delicious, but the mashed potatoes were very plain and bland. My chicken came with a honey butter but it was too sweet for me. It literally tasted like caramel sauce, but my husband enjoyed it so I gave him the honey butter to use on his fried chicken sandwich. They have such a good menu, but a little pricey. We will definitely try to visit again sooner.

Amaro's Downtown is snazzy! It's like every beautiful restaurant you see in a movie and think "man, why don't restaurants near ME look like that?" Well, this one does. And the food is GREAT. The atmosphere here is great for a date night or a business meeting. The bartending staff is friendly too (if you'd prefer to sit and sip while striking up a conversation-- like at Cheers). I had the Fried Chicken Sandwich, which I've had many times before, with the house-made chips and some ranch for dipping. Everything was hot. Everything was delicious. And our server was fun!
