I wish I could give it a 4.5 because they are really good but not 5 stars. I think they are trying to get there.The guy at the counter is Philippine and clearly knows what he is selling and cares about it! Customer service is 5 stars. You do not have to be at El Gaucho to get terrific service. The dude was great!I would give them 5 stars if I did not like the macaroni, or whatever that was. The rest is great, and I really do strongly recommend you try this place.I will go back again and update my review.For now, they get a very strong 4.5 stars!(Which is better than my spelling!)

They're garlic shrimp is so amazing they're homemade mac salad kicks total tail is so yummy it is Island fresh delicious and I have tried many dishes there and I've never been disappointed aloha grill is one of the premier decent price Hawaiian places in Portland little in Oregon there's a couple dinner houses if you want to go for dinner and you're going to spend more with the food is going to be the same quality and you're going to get a better value if you go to lower grill to get it versus other places in the area but fresh wine courtesy little girl yummy food guaranteed.

This place has gone uphill for sure. I was here last week and had to come back. LauLau was a highlight, with the burst of flavor in every bite. The combination of tender meat and some spicy teriyaki created a perfect balance that left a lasting impression. Especially since last time they were out when I dined in.Equally impressive were the Kalua pork, boasting rich, savory flavors that tantalized the taste buds with each fork load. This may have been a better eating experience if I had the time to eat inside. Never had a loco mochi burger before; so I can only blame myself at not knowing how to assemble my meal into a proper loco moco burger plate. I will just have to visit again soon but eat in.Also, my tuna poke bowl was drowning in soy sauce. Would have preferred just the raw fish.

Ono grindz in the PNW?!? This is homesick island girl yearns for some hawaiian comfort food. Let's start with the Aloha Spirit as soon as you walk in. Love hearing Common Kings, Kalohe Kai, Anuhea, and rest of my Hawaiian family. It really sets the mood. I ordered the Aloha Kalbi Ribs platter that comes with mac salad and two scoops of rice. The Kalbi portions rival my favorite Waianae spot. The mac salad flavorful but the Kalbi was EPIC. The marinade is just like I remember. I have not been on island in a few years but this place took me back to Makaha and eating my favorite plate lunch. I miss my Auntie and seeing the rest of the clan but this was a nice respite. This is NOT fast food and good things come to those who wait. Mahalo!

Let me start by saying I'm pregnant and I requested something off the menu - I didn't mean to be difficult but saw so many combos and got overwhelmed trying to decide .. so I asked if it was possible to get the spicy garlic chicken in a combo, and the guy at the register said anything could be made spicy. So then i asked what he recommended and he said he only ever eats the loco moco so i was like oo can i get them together? And he thinks for a moment, disappears into the kitchen, and explains the situation to the cook inside and Long story short i got my combo plate with loco moco (hamburger patty, fried egg, and gravy) and the spicy roasted garlic chicken as well.It was The Bomb. Holy moly. The spicy garlicky flavors went so well with the gravy and egg yolk and the burger was a hearty foundation. And the gravy is so good here. A dark brown sauce that just rounds out everything. It's in the 40's today, dreary and rainy and cold, and i'm just happy as a clam because i ate some good food that doesn't make me feel gross. (And as a pregnant lady that's really important to me ha)Highly recommend. My husband had the aloha grill(?) plate and he said it was good, a lot of similar flavors (aka mine was better )Super friendly staff and casual vibe. We'll be back!

Went back for a taste of local Hawaiian kind food and again I wasn't disappointed. The service is the genuine aloha spirit.

Not sure why place only averaging 3.6 stars - really liked my food here. Tasty grilled meats, good rice and veggie. Had the bento bowl with chicken. Staff was really friendly, and pricing is very good for what you get. Liked the sauces that came on the side as well. Ordered take-out. Will def order from here again!

This place has solid local food choices & great customer service. I tried the shoyu chicken & chicken katsu plate- both were delicious. The shoyu chicken has a gravy & pairs really well with the rice & Mac salad. Their katsu was on the lighter side-not too oily or fatty meat. Their guava cheesecake was the perfect sweet treat after my plate lunch.
